Hernan SI didn’t like that I had to commit to the $15 insurance because we went to the U-Haul in my sons car and I didn’t have my insurance info handy, yet if we got the truck instead of the van, the insurance was optional??. I only used the van a couple of hours and a total of 29 miles. Would like to have that $15 back.

Chris LA total lack of information when I rented the truck costs me over $150.00 in mileage I should never have had to pay. I’ve rented from U-Haul three times in the last six months and this experience will make me think twice before using them again.

Gabriel rI replaced the gas to a quarter tank which is what I got it with and the receiver charged me $13 for gas when I returned it. We even had a not so friendly experience arguing where the gage was. If it’s that close it automatically should be in the customers favor to avert this from happening.

Rebecca MGENERAL COMMENTS: At first I was told that I would probably have to go to a different location to get the trailer. NOT what I wanted to do. I had to do that last time when the trailer they had was not road worthy and at the last minute had to drive 20 miles away. Then they upgraded me to a larger trailer. Then when I got there they had the correct trailer. No continuity it seems or lack of communications in general. Also I don't particularly like the HIDDEN COSTS associated with insurance. I bought the $35 liability package. Then was told it would be close to $60 as it is associated with the amount of days I would have the trailer. I opted for 2 extra days on top of the 3 allowed. I did not see this stipulated elsewhere when reserving the trailer so it is indeed a HIDDEN COST! So far my experiences with Uhaul have been less thatn satisfactory...

Slav LLet me start by saying that the staff is excellent...top-notch customer service and very pleasant to deal with. Not only did the reservation process go very smoothly, I also had a quick and efficient visit when I came to pick up the trailer. The only problem I encountered was with the 12x6 trailer. The locking mechanism on the sliding door was broken. The piece that allows one to secure the trailer with a padlock was snapped off. As such, we couldn't lock up the trailer the way it was designed to be locked. However, we were able to secure the trailer and its contents with a cable-type lock. The cable lock was provided by Uhaul free of charge. Also, I did request the trailer with the broken locking mechanism to be replaced as there was an identical one right next to it. Unfortunately, I was told that that particular trailer was for in-town use only. I would've graded the rental experience even higher had management accommodated my request to replace the trailer. However, I don't know why U-Haul determines one trailer cross-country worthy and an identical one not (I inspected both trailers). Sometimes, policies get in the way of what's actually best for the customer. Ironic but too frequently true.

Tom SWhen we walked in for pickup, we were ignored for a few minutes by a redheadbed guy with a small ponytail. 2 other men were in the store and he asked one of them to help us. 1 immediately walked out and the other helped. The guy with the ponytail without even looking our direction told us, sorry but this is important and walked off. Our drop off location we a business that has shut down. I called the office and explained 3 times the business was not closed. It was shut down, almost empty, and what was left was ransacked. I spent 7 minutes with a manager talking to me like I was 5 years old with no resolution and him telling me to call another number which I had called originally and had no answer. I finally hung up and went to another Uhaul store where they were extremely helpful.

Your on-site manager Freddy has been the absolute BEST. He runs a tight ship over there. In fact, my experience at this location has been so positive I always rent trailers and trucks with UHaul. I've had that unit for years and in the beginning the lighting wasn't that good for the indoor area. Now it looks well lit. The security and code is impeccable. A lot of good security cameras too. It feels safe and that's important to me. Another weird thing, is that the store is layed out nice and I always want to buy something and I really don't need it. One negative thing is that the rodents chewed my Persian rug and my stuff kind of smells like pest spray. It comes with the turf. The rug was old. Just a little constructive criticism. Fell behind on my unit and wanted to keep but at the end after paying the balance off completely he continue to charge outrages fees for wrong dates. I asked for a complete summary and denied my request. Not helpful at all. They just wanted to clean and move us out. Email confirmations have wrong dates and one after another. I wouldn’t recommend storage units here. Ending up moving down the street elsewhere. Less headaches.

The person I talked to said there was a ten foot by ten foot unit available and that if I wanted it I had to rent it then as there was no reserving. I went to get money and when I returned I was told by a different person that unit was reserved. I was put on a waiting list and was called two days later as a different unit had become available, so I did get that unit. It worked out just fine thank you.

I’m assuming he’s new but with how much he struggled it felt like he still needed training or someone assisting with the check in. Our unit now has a few different peoples information on it simply because my spouse and I can’t have the same address? How does that even make sense. Then when confirming what I reserved he rattled off the wrong unit. So we had to correct that. Once we got through the actual check in he handed us a map and flagged down someone to take us back to the unit. This is where I would rate the entire experience poor at best. There are random vehicles just stored everywhere. There is no clear access to our unit. What was most frustrating was due to the fact you can’t actually drive up to our unit (poor planning and layout on uhauls behalf) he didn’t mention maybe backing the trailer up so we could at least cut down some of the foot traffic. It’s frustrating because we rented a rather large unit and you physically can not drive up to the thing. Had I known how poor the layout was I wouldn’t have chosen the facility at all. Staff was ok but clearly needs training. The facility itself is a mess.

Corporate UHaul is great with customer service but there really should be someone who does quality control checks on independent stores. For the first time, we used the recommended movers.com to help us. Much to our dismay, the movers in AZ cancelled at 11:00AM. We were charged and additional $140.00 for the last minute replacement. As a company, they are not up to the same standards that U-Haul has. Even though it was their mistake, they made us pay for it. Our hands were tied since we were on a tight schedule. I hear that you are not associated with them, just thought you might want to know about our experience with the first mover group, especially since they didn’t show up, we can’t put that experience on their website I am told. We have always enjoyed U-Haul and the 26 foot truck was totally awesome, a great drive and a great deal! Thanks to U-Haul for always being there for us and the extremely fair pricing! Communication sucked, don't think I would recommend you for storage.
