Everything was as per usual for a storage facility except for two very irritating aspects: 1. The cheaply made and poorly designed locks froze solid with ice every time it slipped below freezing and there was a precipitation, necessitating a trip to the office to get a propane torch to blast the lock with. . 2. The poorly designed lot was so crammed full of Uhaul vehicles and trailers that most times you tried to access your locker unit, something was blocking your way and you either had to ask them to move it or you had to park away from it and squeeze by the vehicles. This rental was a much better experience than my last one at this location. I had checked in online prior to pick up and the process was smooth and quick. The trailer worked well. My drop off experience went well and the gentleman who unhitched the trailer and processed my paperwork was efficient and friendly. I'll be back and recommend this location.Basil D.

I'm now about to turn 36 yrs old in a number of days..and this has not been my 1'st time using uhaul, I'm going to say that this may have been my 4th time atleast over the number of years. Even purchasing items before my recent move ehich came to a total of just under $70 dollars was a negative experience. It always seems to he the GM(I think) that I've had to deal with..and every single person who has used uhaul with me and has even heard her speak to me (us) always ends up saying the same thing as soon as we leave the door in regards to how rude this 1 woman is..who also somewhat pushed me into getting the 20 foot truck rather than the 15 foot...which really we wouldn't have even come close to filling the 15 foot truck, but I felt a bit pushed again into getting the 20 foot truck as she told me that there would absolutely be no way in this world that her belongings from her apartment would dare fit into a 15 foot truck..so again...that is the reason I felt luke I had to move up to the 20 foot truck..which was so huge that it even got stuck on the curb..I had to wait 2 hrs for Shaw's Towing to be able to even moce it..so in turn I spent extra money for a truck that could have moved an entire home PLUS my 2 bedroom apt...then had to pay $70 to Shaw's towing.. I felt like there was a robot speaking AT me and not to me..and I could not even get a question in. I spent 15 years of my life in high end restaurants and bars throughout PEI, Edmonton, AB and also while living in Toronto, ON. I've served for many of those yrs, hosted while just starting out at a young age, did a lot of higher end bartending and eventually onto the Management Team in Edmonton and in Toronto, therefore I know what good customer service is..and I have NEVER received that from this one woman over the numerous moves I've made..from again, the woman whom I believe is the GM. The other employees have been ok..however in my opinion..you need someone who you can speak with..especially within a manager. (ALL IN MY OPINION AND 4 OTHERS WHO HAD EXPERIENCED THIS WITH ME OVER A NUMBER OF YEARS) All in all, VERY bad customer service. (And again..this is not towards the entire uhaul staff in Charlottetown, PE ..but surely to 1 woman inparticular.. Truck was originally parked too close, for me, to the building and made it difficult to enter with door only able to open a small way. Had to be very careful to not smash the door against concrete pillar at the beginning of my trip before leaving uhaul. If any closer, I would have had to go through passenger side door. There was windshield damage (which would have been fine, it was just a chip) and the X was placed right in my line of sight was quite annoying for such a long drive. The truck stalled twice. The service on the day of pick up was fine . However, when I call and get one particular gentleman he is very rude and condescending. I have used uhaul services for many years and every time I have to deal with this person I wish there was another option for renting a truck. This person was not present on Saturday . I would not recommend because of this one person, his service is horrible. When I booked my uhaul online it was booked at the location closest to my house. I was called a few days later to be told that there wasn't actually one available that size at that location. So this ended up adding approximately and extra 20km on to my move. Also booked a dolly and then didnt get it. They did adjust the price due to the dolly but I believe the price should have been adjusted for the location mix up as well. Overall good enough experience.JANA S.
I am being charged for cleaning when all that was in the back of the truck is moving blankets that I have NO CHOICE BUT TO LEAVE IN THERE from the shipment sent here. The woman who waited on me at pickup seemed bored and unhappy with her job. She chastised me for not entering my drivers license information into the online check in. She was also unable to process my debit card and I had to use a credit card. I am HST exempt through my business and was unable to delete that from my charges. When I dropped off the trailer this am at sharp 07:00, which was posted opening times she was on her cell phone, let me know that they weren't quite open and that I could drop the trailer off myself outback. If she was an employee with my business she would be unemployed. She does not know the definition of customer service. I struggled to get the trailer off the hitch and finally used a lever wheeled mechanism I wasn't familiar with to remove the trailer from my vehicle. The one employee that seemed interested in providing a good level of customer service was a gentleman who had originally hitch up the trailer on pick up.BASIL D.

The young lady I dealt with on the phone was very helpful and accommodating. I had to change my pickup multiple times, but I was left feeling positive after every conversation. Harpreet was great to deal with at the location. He was very friendly and cheerful. I was surprised that we didn't do a walk around of the vehicle before I took my rental. There was another young man who processed my paperwork when I first picked up the truck. I got the feeling from him that I was an inconvenience to his day. He wasn't friendly and came across as a bit arrogant. Harpreet asked a question when I returned the truck and the young mans response was a bit harsh. As someone with multiple decades of sales/service experience, I would suggest that the young man get some customer service training.michael M.

Don't cancel a customer's reservation and not tell them about it. I had my reservation cancelled. No notification. Went into the office and was told they had no reservation on file. When I provided reservation number they indicated that it was cancelled. I indicated that I did not cancel the reservation. They told me they had no trucks available and that they would call me back. No call back. I called back 24 hours later and got through to the call center. They reinstated my reservation stating there were no notes on the file as to why original reservation was cancelled. I picked up the truck the next day and spoke to the manager. She had zero interest in my issue. Very much like a Seinfeld episode. "You know how to *take* the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Overall the experience was good. The truck was clean and worked flawlessly. Ride was quite amazing and we had lots of room for our stuff. Return was effortless. I understand that we are all now conditioned to being extra careful and somewhat neurotic with regards to germs (as if that will help), but I do not want to be finger-wagged and lectured if I make a mistake and do not use my phone to scan my drivers' license ahead of time. The young man that processed my rental did not appear to enjoy his job. He did not smile once, had very little eye contact, showed no personality, did not ask me if I had any questions, or thank me for my business. He told me he would meet me up front so I picked went out front and didn't see him. I saw a truck to the right with a door open and it was on but I had no idea if it was my truck or someone else's. I went back inside and he was sitting back at his chair. He did not appear to care about customer service or realize that truck rentals may be second nature to him but not to most customers. THis was my second rental in two weeks and on both occasions the web site did not work in booking the transaction. I had all fields filled properly including Visa # and the job showing in my cart but it would not make the final transaction and did not generate an email confirmation. When we originally dealt with the staff at your facility, there were 2 ladies at the counter and they were extremely helpful, polite and happy, which I commented on in a previous review. Returning a few weeks later and there was a different lady at the counter. She was not cheerful she was actually rude, when all I needed was info on a rental truck to use on a round trip to Ontario. We ended up using a different rental company mostly because of her poor attitude. More than once but less then 5 times when arriving to access my storage unit there was a car parked in front of the area used to load or unload your vehicle yet no one in the actual facility. It was the same car each time which leads me to believe it was the people living above the facility using that area as a parking space. Very frustrating. Everything else was top notch.
