Was in unit 1644 for 3 months, mattress against the back wall of unit had mold in one corner. There was a cotton mattress protector on it, and the mattress itself was fine. But water/dampness came from somewhere. The access hours were fine, but I wish we could have moved out of the unit at 10pm the night before. It was open early enough when we did move. To not have parking for my vehicle while I used the van for two hours was disappointing and an inconvenience. It would be nice if for hourly rentals you could leave your personal vehicle there. There were about twenty empty parking spaces but I was told I could not leave my vehicle there. I was gone for under two hours. Will not use this service again due to the inconvenience. I've been dealing with uhaul for almost four years. St.John's NL and Dartmouth Nova Scotia where by far excellent people to deal with good service. Charlottetown PE by far was the worst for storage. Lost all my furniture because of poor construction on the rear of the building it flooded . I can honestly say that I will never use uhaul again for storage. Also wherever I go I will tell people about my experience especially people that I consider to be my friends. I received no compensation at all. Twice in this location, some strange situations passed me. When I returned the trailer back, the same Indian (I don't really know his nationality, but he looks like an Indian ) guy served me, unfortunately, I forgot his name. The first time I ordered a trailer from 7 am to 5 pm (the order was made online), I picked up the trailer at 7.40 am and returned to the station U-Haul at 5.40 pm, that is, the real deviation from the planned time was + 40 min. Came back to the U-haul station, and this guy told me that I was 40 minutes late and now I have to pay for a new rate, not 29.95 + taxes, but already 59.9+ taxes. Of course, this caused me dissatisfaction, and he steadily explained to me that for the system I have been using the trailer for the 2nd day already, we argued with him for quite some time that the time indicated by me is an approximate time, and even if I was delayed by 40 minutes, then this is not like not the second day. But he steadily convinced me that there was nothing he could do and I needed to pay for two days of using the trailer. Only when I suggested that he go through and discuss it with the manager did he decide how to uncheck the system, so that I would pay for one day. Yesterday another situation happened, when I took a trailer, a nice girl asked me, when returning the trailer, to park it in the place from which I took it. I did this when returning the trailer, parked it in the same place, and proceeded to the office to close the order, there I was met by the same Indian guy, who said that I should not park the trailer where I parked it and that I should overtake trailer to the place that he indicates. I followed him, he pointed me to a place where it was physically impossible to maneuver the trailer to park it. I tried to park it, but due to the limited space, I only drove the trailer into half of the parking space. But the most interesting thing is that at the moment when I was parking the trailer, another Indian guy approached this guy and, speaking Indian, not English, tried to explain to the first one that it was a bad idea to park the trailer here, but it should have been parked where I parked from the very beginning (of course, I don't know a word in Indian, and I can only guess what they were talking about, but from their facial expressions and gestures it seemed to me that they were talking about what I described above). After I parked the trailer in half of the parking space, the second guy left, and the first one asked me to push the trailer by hand and put pegs under the wheels. In this situation, I was not satisfied with the fact that, instead of an accessible parking space where the trailers were located, I was redirected to an inaccessible and physically limited place, and then they were also asked to push the trailer manually. I am also unhappy that employees in U-Haul uniforms used Indian (or another) language in my presence during business hours to discuss where I should park the trailer. I am absolutely not against any language after hours, but during work, in the presence of a client, discuss my parking in other than English, I think not correctly. I hope, you are able to check the U-haul system and see who exactly closed my order two last time it definitely should be the same guy. Thank you for the chance to leave feedback. The first truck I rented was great! The second truck was substantially cleaner when I returned it than when I picked it up! I pointed out several things not working correctly and/or broken on the truck when it was returned. Also mentioned both doors being fill of garbage, even a used mask, and there were large chunks of glass behind and under the drivers side seat. Not impressed and the staff seemed very nonchalant about it. I hope they didn't send that truck back out before repairs. I won't ever use this company again.Raegan M.

Called uhaul customer support because I was running late, the wait was long so I scheduled a call back. Upon callback I was still on hold for 30 minutes before someone answered. They told me it was 2x the rate of the actual rental to return it 2 hours later. I will be looking for alternatives for my next move. Location here is great though with good people. All vehicles should be full of fuel and not be request customers to determine 3/8 of a tank to fill upon return. This is very subjective and you are charging clients more as a result of this procedure. Vehicles which are full are then returned fullED M.

I was treated very poorly from the moment I walked through the door by one female employee. I guess the worker was having a bad day or something because she was extremely impolite and borderline aggressive with me. We were having issues getting my ID verified through the app and I could sense the tension in the air. The entire exchange was very unprofessional and caused anxiety. There was no conversing with this person - she was defensive with every aspect of the interaction. When asked about pricing, I was given the demeaning response "I know the prices are correct...I do this for a living, this is actually cheaper than what it should be for an in-town rental". Similarly, the cab of the vehicle was nice and dirty with sand/mud; the truck obviously had not been wiped down before I picked it up. I usually choose U-Haul because of the convenience, reliability, cleanliness, great prices, and friendly service, but after this experience at the Charlottetown location - I may consider an alternative while I am living here because the service I experienced at this branch the other day is not up to U-Haul's standards. The staff at 18 capital drive, Charlottetown, PE was very helpful and took care of me after a complete failure of booking online and ALSO calling a few hours before arrival to confirm my reservation. The employee I spoke with on the phone (some where in the USA) said everything was good for my reservation, however once I arrived I actually had no unit that I reserved. Not sure how that blunder happened but it was a huge mistake on uhauls part. Fortunately the staff took care of me.Casey C. | First Impressions
I booked a 5x10 room online that was advertised for a 1- 2 bedroom house up to 1200. My house is 2 bdrm and 950sq ft and there was no chance it would fit. I ended up upgrading last minute to a 10x10 after staff agreed the 5x10 wouldn't suit and denied that this room is advertised to hold that amount even after I was able to show them the online posting. The paper pamphlet I was given at check in stated at 10x10 room was $134, but I later found myself charged for $169. Worst of all, it still didn't fit the things from my house. I've had to store things at 2 other friends and family locations. I felt like uhaul bait and switched me at least twice. When I checked online for access hours I found access hours to be 5am to 10pm. While I was moving things into my unit I was told they close at 8 and I had to leave. When I asked about the 10pm close I was told that only applies to outdoor units and my indoor unit closes at 8. Why was I given an access code for the building if it closes and I'm not allowed in again? This issue caused me to take a 1/2 full cargo truck back to my house 30 km away, and make a second trip in the following day.. doubling my milage and my expense. Essentially every important advertised feature of the unit was unclear or downright misleading. After spending $600 on boxes, a truck and a room I'm thoroughly disappointed and will be leaving a particularly harsh review on Google as soon as I'm able to get the chance to do so. My issue is not with your hours, policy, or prices.. my issue is that none of these things were clear when booking and in a crunch at moving time I had NO choice but to use your services and pay whatever you asked, and that felt awful. I would not recommend uhaul to anyone and will be doing research into other options for my next move.Chantelle S. | Online Move In

Everything was fine for the first 5 years but since the Covid19 crisis I lost my job and fell behind in my payments and that's when all my good thoughts about U-Haul went out the window. My storage unit contents were taken and sold along with personal stuff that can't be replaced. The staff at the Charlottetown facility we're helping me but the aholes Kyle Rutherford out of the Denver office had no sympathy to my plight.
