Initially I was supposed to drop off at a facility farther away, but I made a phone call and they changed the drop off to one right around the corner. The guy on the phone was really cool.

When I went to check in my trailer there was only one gal working and she had to do both check in and check out and there were 3 vehicles ahead of me that had not been checked in and 2 couples ahead of me that were waiting to check out this location could have used more help. The gal was very pleasant and efficient even though she was overwhelmed.

Equipment: I did have to bring the truck back to uhaul, thankfully I live only a few minutes away, because I could not get the gold key to open the gold lock. The employee was able to do so after a bit of struggling herself. Would recommend replacing those old gold locks.

Not a thing. I reserved the truck on the app. I arrived and checked in. Paid on the app. I checked myself in and only had to interact with the employee to get the keys. Meanwhile the guy at the counter was still standing there going through the rental process.

I booked a truck through the mobile app. Received confirmation. I arrived at the store early in the morning, followed the instructions, but unfortunately there were no keys in the box. The support team recommended waiting for the store to open. I was in a hurry, but I had to wait almost 40 minutes. The manager was late and said that the employee just forgot to put the keys in the box. The manager promised a discount when I return the truck. The gas tank of the truck was empty and I had to go to the gas station and waste more time, although I was in a hurry. As a result, I was late for my vendor, who asked me to come earlier. When I returned the truck manager was off in the store and no one knew about the discount. I’ve lost 1 hour of my reservation and paid for it. I just left the keys. I use the service for the 4th time and it was the worst experience. I plan to use it further. I hope something will change. The company is very good and usually the service was convenient and not so stressful and challenging.

I think you can change your rules about charging so much when a customer drops a vehicle off, after the agreed upon time. Moving is a very stressful process as it is. When someone is arriving later than expected, it's likely due to the laborou nature of moving, itself. Thank you for your time.

It would have to be your prices because your customer service is stellar! I came in the night before to reserve a truck, & the person who helped me was super friendly & professional. When I picked up the truck, the person who helped was so nice & got me out of there quickly, & when I returned the truck the gentleman who checked the truck for me was so helpful & seemed like a genuinely nice person. That's 3 out of 3 consecutive interactions that not only didn't add to the enormous amount of stress I was already under (I'm moving) but actually they actually alleviated some of it. I am genuinely very pleased with the service I received at the Auburn boulevard U-Haul on January 9th and 10th of 2025. Everyone of your employees manage to put a smile on my face, & THAT'S part of what made this an excellent experience for me. Your employees deserve some recognition for this.

I couldn't fit my couch in the elevator and I know leaving it under the staircase with permission was risky, but what I don't understand is I asked re: video which I was tokd there is surveilance, but they would not look for it, which made me think my couch was stolen by uhaul staff.

For the 10 days that I had my storage unit the temperature was at least 100° inside the storage facility and hotter within my individual storage unit. I complained to the manager several times and received the same noncommittal response that they were trying to get somebody out to fix it. I paid for a storage facility that had climate control and did not receive it. I asked for a refund and I have not received one. For that reason, I will be contesting the payment that I made on my credit card in order to try and retrieve my rent.

We drive up with our moving truck and the gate code won’t work. I called the number and no answer. When we meet the person on site she told us that we would need to find it for ourselves and then she said a gate is on the other side of the property. Not very easy to find when you’re inside the facility. No labels on how to find it and the buildings are not very clear as the labels. The unit is a 10x10 but it would have helped if there was a map or proper direction and the door is not a roll up. The roll up would have helped a lot and the truck was a mess when I picked it up!

I love keeping everything at U-Haul. Unfortunately I could not afford the $200 a month anymore. I had to move my personal property to another facility for half that price. I also live in Roseville now so I picked a place that is in Roseville, less than a mile away from me.

I wish they would have allowed me to stay I had all the money to pay back fee and everything but they still asked me to settle and move my things out. I am very grateful for that opportunity at the least. It is very annoying that the main number goes to corporate instead of them so it’s harder to get ahold of someone who actually works there. But when I wasn’t on hard times n had my unit it was ok except the occasional raise in rent that was annoying when I first got the unit 3-4 years ago there were a lot of friendly helpful people. My last visit not so much 2 guys behind the service desk were not eager to help anyone one being the assistant manager. One employee was trying to help me but didn’t have access he needed to, I had an appointment with the store manager but she had left when I arrived. Family emergency is what I was told and I understand but a courtesy call would have been nice considering I came all the way from Modesto. I was 10 minutes late and I did try to call but again number goes straight to corporate not the actual store, very frustrating. So I wasn’t able to make the manager aware I was just stuck in traffic at a long red light. Once I got there I had to wait 45 minutes before one of guys behind the desk decided to help me. But all n all everything got settled I was able to get what I could that day out of my unit.

The staff was super friendly. There was a lot of things happening outside of their control when I was in, which is understandable. But when service is slow and customers are already irritated it's annoying to see the representatives having a bunch of sidebar conversations. Especially when it's the general manager doing it. I normally don't give honest critiqueas but it was cringey behavior. Other than that, pretty cool staff.

I would not give this storage unit even one star if I could. The customer service has been lacking and uninformative. Additionally, I was told incorrect information, and my unit was sold without just cause. The general manager of this facility will not return my phone calls or my text messages And I’ve had to obtain an attorney because my unit was sold. Lastly, it appears this office put false information in the system saying on the 17th I came in to pay the payment and it was sold the same day which is complete fabrication. I have witnesses and receipts that this was paid on June 11 and I went in there on June 12 , I have two witnesses that were with me that day and I also have documentation and receipts from U-Haul stating I paid it on 11 June before the auction to say that I’m devastated regarding my belongings being sold is an understatement but the service I am receiving, and the lack of accountability to this office is Atrocious

For nearly a month I have been unable to access my storage unit after it was burglarized last month. No one seems empathetic to my issue. I've spoken to over 10 U-Haul employees and receive different information from each of them yet no one can seem to fix the problem why my unit #3113 is no longer accessible online for payment or in person for me to access my items in the unit!

Everything’s was good. Although the elevator broke down before I could finish my move out. I told the staff, he said he would be up to check it when he finished with another customer. He never showed. When I went to the office to close my account with UHaul he never said anything to me except here’s you reciept. He was very rude. I’ll never rent again with a person like that who works for your company. I’ve rented uhaul for many years an 1 person being rude, showed me you no longer need my patronage. I’ll find another company to rent from when it’s time to move again.

Staff & Manager seem to not care at all about customer experience. I was contacted once about changing the lock on my unit. I called 4 times and left 3 messages and multiple emails to get no response from any of the managers. They put another lock on my unit for over a year, because they were afraid I may not pay my rent on time. This limited my access to the unit. I raised an issue with customer support, and they emailed the manager but they did not respond or resolve it. I was forced to go in person to resolve the issue. This experience has forever turned me off from using U-haul services.

Never ever rent a storage space from this business. I ordered everything online because it stated it was available. The unit I wanted was not available! They had to get it ready, I waited for two hours. I had also hired a moving helper for 3 hours at $120 bucks an hour this place took two of those hours. I lost money. Then I was over charged. You have to buy their locks but only the most expensive lock was available, but their inventory stated they had 120 of the inexpensive locks available. My over all experience was horrific and cost me alot of money. Don't get a storage unit from this business.

When you set up your account on line and go into the office to secure it, with a manager. It should not take them an hour and a half to finalize it. On line it states they have available 10 x 10 units BUT they don't. In the meantime I have hired a Moving Helper for 2 hours at $100 per hour. I only got an hour of his time, the other hour was wasted by the Manager at this facility to get my unit ready, I think. It seemed she spent more time on the phone, then taking care of business. Then I had to buy the more expensive lock because she couldn't find the cheaper one, even though her inventory said she had 54 locks their but couldn't find them? Then next day when I came in, they had plenty of standard storage locks on display in the office. I had to come back and get another unit, which I actually reserved online a another 10 x 10. When I arrived of course there are none but on line doesn't say that. Evidently they have their own items in those units, that WHY they are not available to the public. So they give me a 5 x 8 but didn't assign me a unit number, I had to go back again, and I got the unit number, when I got home my husband informs me that is the same unit number as the first one! I called to get it fixed, only to be told that I have to go back to office, customer service can't handle that. I went back was given the unit number. Plus they had to fix my invoice, I purchased a bundle of large boxes and was over charged for the bundle by $15.00. My husband goes to the storage unit, we can't use it, it's to small. I am so frustrated with this storage place, over charging me, costing me money for a Moving Helper that only worked an hour and charging me more for locks I didn't need to buy I had to find another storage place to meet me needs, and wouldn't have had to do that if this storage place correctly let the public know what they had available. Plus now I had two keep my moving truck for two extra days. This is almost $500.00 dollars extra I had to pay out of my pocket! I would never recommend this Uhaul or storage place to anyone.

The unit I was in and a few others near it was burglarized. We lost valuable belongings including hard-to-price religious image that had been in my family since before I was born. The staff was unclear and not helpful in the filing of police report. Made us think of inside job.

This location needs repairs and clean up. Some peeved that caused me to move were; my unit door was missing the insulation rubber around it making it easy for bugs and rodents to enter and there was a persistent wasp nest in the eaves above my unit. Finally when they ended the 24 hour access, which I loved so I put up with the aforementioned inconveniences; I had to leave.

They are a good team, but sadly understaffed. Other customers took their frustrations out on them. It was hard to watch. I will say that when it is your turn the focus is mainly on the customer in front of them with very few interruptions. It just took a while. I enjoyed their personalities.

Had a ball at the store. She was so kind. When I came back to fill the storage unit the manager walked us up and brought down flat beds for use to use. Very nice. I wouldn’t blame him for what other do but a daily check of the flat beds would be good. There was a razor blade left it blended in. But it could be a hazard for someone grabbing boxes.

Not sure if a customers comments make a impact with Corporate. If it does, then please know this; The entire staff at 5220 Auburn UHAUL is an exceptionally wonderful team. They exhibit wonderful customer service skills, each and every time. There are times when the outcome is not to the customers liking. However, it doesn't mean the U-haul representatives did not do everything within their control to remedy a situation. This really should be acknowledged. Corporate really should provide them every tool they would need to be the best U-haul branch they deserve to be. Cooper, Chris and Skylar.....great job gentlemen! Thank you.

I decided to use the "first month of storage free" offer after I rented a UHaul truck. To be honest, I figured it wouldn't be free because there would be hidden fees, etc. But when I turned in my key 5 days before the end of the first month, I was not charged. I was surprised and delighted! I needed a short term rental, and this facility was great.

My interaction with one of the customer service agents was not pleasant since he had a quite a bit of an attitude. Just letting you know the truth believe me the others were great except for one. Our unit was broken into during a break-in that involved multiple units and police responding, but nobody alerted us so that we could inventory it. We did not know until we went to the unit days later. Poor service on that part.

The first person that helped me was confused about the storage units and it took 15 minutes to get in the access gate because It didn’t work but the guy that helped me out was nice he kept going back-and-forth to the office trying to get my card to work

The Manager Amado Hernandez was one of the best manager I ever meet in the company. The manager helped and solved our problem faster than I have ever seen and this comes from someone who is in a military family (which means I move around every three years) and I really recommend coming to this building and company, the smiles and the bright attitudes really helped my stressful time... muy agradecida y feliz! Truck left handle was missing. As a result, I fell off truck and scraped up my back. In significant pain to date. UHAUL paperwork shows storage access GATE hours as 5am to 10pm. Rented truck late in day, 2:00pm. Due to return truck and store items by 6:30pm on sat Oct 31,2020. Fell off truck which delayed return of truck and stopped to fill up gas to FULL status. Truck mileage was 56947 at UHAUL, returning mileage @7:42pm was 56953, BUT, we couldn't access the storage gate for entrance. We looked at our paperwork and receipt given to us by office and it states STORAGE ACCESS 5AM to 10PM. This was the deciding factor for closing out my current storage and moving to a closer storage facility. Unable to store my truck filled items in the unit and being told by staff that the area and facility deals with theft of gas and breaking into storage trucks, I drove the truck to my residence and secured it with a lock. I had to go to work at 3:30am Sunday morning and my vehicle was still parked at the UHAUL site, so I paid for a LYFT to take me to the UHAUL facility to pick my vehicle up, so I could go to work and reduce the possibility of theft. Also, I rented a truck earlier in the week for a ground unit that wasn't available. I paid for a truck that I couldn't use. Manager Andrew DID compensate me for this inconvenience. However, October 31, 2020 was a horrible, painful and stressful situation. I have left a storage facility to move to one of your facilities because of proximity and gate access, only to discover at night that the gate hours are no longer 5-10pm as your paperwork suggests. NOT happy.!

Im not sure how half of my belongings were missing from my storage when I informed management when I was coming to pick my stuff up. Also unsure as to who thought they were keeping my TVs and how one was broke. Overall, glad the whole experience it's OVER!!!
