I was left waiting for 20mins to return the truck. I finally went in and let them know I was waiting and a u-haul representation told me he knew I was out there and I hadn't waited that long. Good customer service would have been to let me know they would get to me as soon as they could. And not challenge the wait period, act like the customer matters....

This has been among the worst experiences I've ever had with a company, and I will make sure that anyone who ever mentions moving house in my presence is aware of what u-haul did to me. I ordered a small truck at 5220 Auburn Bl because my wife and I needed to walk to the location get the truck. They called me and offered me free miles if I would drop it off at a different location; on the phone the woman and I discussed the locations, myself with the aid of google maps. I agreed with u-haul on the phone that I would pick up the truck at 5220 Auburn Bl and drop it off to a different location, also on Auburn but further away. Mere hours before we were due to pick up our truck, I got notification that we were expected at a Roseville location, far too far to walk. I called up, expecting them to fix this mistake, and this is where the experience went from being an unfortunate mistake on u-haul's part to being a disaster. Firstly, they refused to even acknowledge that I felt they had made a mistake. Not "they refused to acknowledge their mistake"; they refused to even agree that I was making a complaint. They treated me as though I had simply changed my mind at the last second, and that they were doing me a favour by trying to get me the vehicle and location I wanted. Desperate because my wife was practically already on the way, and because we were moving house that very day, I agreed to take a van from the correct location (the only vehicle they had). I said to the man on the phone that since a van was too small we'd need to make multiple trips, and that it was a good thing we had been promised free mileage. This is where he should have said that wasn't happening, but he didn't, so I stupidly assumed that the same deal was happening. When my wife (who was picking it up) called me to say that they had made her sign a contract that didn't get free miles, I called them back to demand an explanation. The explanation boiled down to that we signed the contract, so tough love, and feel free to complain to u-haul. I did - I went through the channels and left a detailed message explaining how not one but two verbal contracts had been broken by u-haul and how every step of the way we were treated with distain and condescention by the company by being treated as though we had no complaint and that our shoddy treatment was our fault for changing our minds, since it obviously isn't possible that the woman I spoke to initially made a serious error when processing our agreement - but no one ever got back to me. No call, no email. I'm a former customer service agent. When a mistake this kind is made, the right thing to do would be to apologise and to bring us to a truck - it wouldn't have been hard to put us in a taxi and send us to the location they wanted. It would have been annoying, but mistakes happen. But this complaint isn't about the initial mistake; it's about they systematic refusal to accept responsibility for seriously inconveniencing t

I rented a 20 foot truck and a car transport, I was told to take the truck and go load it up and come back for the car transport. That used my miles, my gas and to boot when I returned to get the car transport they wanted to double charge me!! I then stood there for over an hour while the lady tried to figure that out, she had to get the store manager for help. He also had no idea what to do, he called the manager or general manager finally resolved the issue an hour LATER!!! When i went to leave with the car transport THE LIGHTS DID NOT WORK, 30 more minutes later and 3 guys coming to help they resolved the issue. This put my move over 2 hours behind, and made my day incredibly HARD ON MY FAMILY!!!!!! TRAIN YOUR PEOPLE!!!

The reservation was made via the 24/7 site and set for 6:00 AM Sunday morning. When we arrived the lockbox did not have the key in it. We followed the instructions as set forth and contacted Customer Service. They did everything they could to help us by sending emails and trying to contact the management staff of the store. It wasn't until my nephew, who happens to work at the store, contacted the manager did he come down, open the store and provide us with the key which was plainly seen hanging on the wall. Upon returning the van, we were informed by the assistant manager that the night crew knew of the reservation but did not set up the van for early morning pickup. This shows a blatant disrespect for my time as this put our entire schedule off by a good hour. We were not offered any type of recompense for the inconvenience. I choose this store out of respect for my nephew but this is the second time that I've tried to use U-Haul for my moving needs and been totally hosed. I will not be using U-Haul for any future requirements nor will I be recommending U-Haul to any of my friends and acquaintances.

The original location location on Florin Rd. got the entire order and time wrong! I requested 9:00am - one way. Needing truck for five hours only. Received a text on the 15th stating 3:00pm pick up and drop off for the next day same location! No truck was available for 9:00am. When I called the central number, Alicia found another truck for nine am, at another location some 30 minutes away, from my storage location. I choose the original location because it was 1 miles away. It was very inconvenient and frustrating as you can imagine. What happened? I was charged $146.00. Was this even correct?

This was the worst service I have ever received from a UHaul facility. I had a quoted price and when I showed up to claim my vehicle they told me the price would be higher due to vehicle availability. I had to play a saved voicemail from a call trying to sell me a different product and pricing to get my price into a more reasonable range. I was stuck because I needed the vehicle for my daughter's wedding. To me this was a basic bait and switch tactic run by the UHaul corporation. I will look into every other option before I consider using UHaul again. If UHaul wants to see about making me a "satisfied" customer you will provide a refund to bring my rental costs in line with my original quote of $19.95 per day. A very unhappy customer
