Staff at the store were very nice and helpful. Rhe phone reps i spoke prior to going to this store was awful; 1st one was directed me to the website, too busy to talk to me, he has no time, 2nd phone rep was nice but she for my name/email wrong/reservation wrong hours. But once you are in the store the staff were very helpful. The inside of the truck was not clean. Caution: always take a photo to the outside of any rental, gas mileage, and the fuel level! I was able to dispute the mileage and fuel level because of the proof before driving the rental away otherwise i would have been overcharge!Trudy M.

That 24/7 check-in is bullschit. Anything that can be done ahead, should be. It is quicker with an actual person & that's a failure. This check-in seems it's designed to discourage using it. It took entirely too long to go through all the steps. I'll go elsewhere if I ever need to pick up outside of business hours. I'm at the vehicle doing the checklist, then it said, "the lockbox is located in the front." I'm looking around the front of the vehicle for the lock box. The front of what?! The distant building? Not intuitive. Check out was also a fail. I have receipts that show I put in 3 gallons, roughly $15, and your fuel credit was $4.xx That's bad business. Whoever the analysts were, they were either not analysts or analysts without brains. The lock on the lockbox was damaged and wouldn't open. The gas tank was on "E". Empty?! But I have to bring it back with a minimum 1/4 tank? And the fuel credit for bring the fues from empty to 1/4 was 4.xx? Shady. Everyone knows that Empty to a quarter is more than a gallon - you didn't even credit me for a full gallon! If it weren't for the awesome staff, I'd certainly go elsewhere after this experience. I'll definitely never use the useless, non-intuitive, and time consuming 24/7 check-in.Karen H.

The problems did not occur because of this location. The assistant manager and installer of your Citrus Heights storeare excellent employees. You should listen to them if you are wise because if you did, this could be one of your highest producing stores. The problems occurred because Fed Ex does not deliver on time. Corporate does not communicate with its locations. Computer systems are outdated. It takes 45 minutes to get through to someone in corporate. When you do get through you get disconnected. When you do get through it goes to the wrong department. Store hours are confusing. When you order somethimg it never comes through on time or it is the wrong item. Owners have no clue of what is going on at various locations and have no idea of what the employees go through. It would be great if the owners spend time at their various locations. Employees in stores should be able to express ways to make the business operate faster and more efficient. I could go on and on however, I do not have enough time. If Uhaul does not get it together they are going to completely go out of business. Owners you are losing tons of money because your not willing to fix problems with the help of your employees.Kelvin W.

When I went and got the uhaul the young lady I think she's the manager, but she was amazing and so helpful the best attitude and very professional I believe her name was Katrina I'm unsure. The young fellow that worked on July 4th when I went to return was amazing beyond words as well. Stop harrasing people that make a reservation and have there credit card on file I spent more time with the guy at the desk then ever and I have rented at that location for over twenty years with the same vehicle rated for 8000 pounds and the younger and ball rated at 6000 the guys in the back are super but the desk guy had a attitude all thru the reservation pick up and just a general dick about my credit card demanding a reference person's number that doesn't even live in this state and has nothing to do with my business or the matter at hand and refused to rent to me I was appauld with this guy's general attitude and the lady that made the reservation was also ubnoxious just harrasment instead of booking the reservations was really pissed offRandy C.

I was pressed for time to pack my U boxes and get them to the Uhaul location in my town. They were supposed to be shipped out the next 2 days, but ended up being shipped out a week later. It was fine because they still arrived on time, but I wish I had gotten more time to load them more carefully. When I went to pick them up in my next location, the fork lift was broken and what should have been a couple hours turned into an all day affair.Haley M.

The problem I had, was booking the equipment online. I wanted to book a trailer one way. It was not clear on the website how to do this, so I booked it anyway. I tried to change the reservation to one way, and was told I could not do this. Therefore, I had to pay for an extra day because the equipment needed to be returned at the same location.Michael A.

When you set up your account on line and go into the office to secure it, with a manager. It should not take them an hour and a half to finalize it. On line it states they have available 10 x 10 units BUT they don't. In the meantime I have hired a Moving Helper for 2 hours at $100 per hour. I only got an hour of his time, the other hour was wasted by the Manager at this facility to get my unit ready, I think. It seemed she spent more time on the phone, then taking care of business. Then I had to buy the more expensive lock because she couldn't find the cheaper one, even though her inventory said she had 54 locks their but couldn't find them? Then next day when I came in, they had plenty of standard storage locks on display in the office. I had to come back and get another unit, which I actually reserved online a another 10 x 10. When I arrived of course there are none but on line doesn't say that. Evidently they have their own items in those units, that WHY they are not available to the public. So they give me a 5 x 8 but didn't assign me a unit number, I had to go back again, and I got the unit number, when I got home my husband informs me that is the same unit number as the first one! I called to get it fixed, only to be told that I have to go back to office, customer service can't handle that. I went back was given the unit number. Plus they had to fix my invoice, I purchased a bundle of large boxes and was over charged for the bundle by $15.00. My husband goes to the storage unit, we can't use it, it's to small. I am so frustrated with this storage place, over charging me, costing me money for a Moving Helper that only worked an hour and charging me more for locks I didn't need to buy I had to find another storage place to meet me needs, and wouldn't have had to do that if this storage place correctly let the public know what they had available. Plus now I had two keep my moving truck for two extra days. This is almost $500.00 dollars extra I had to pay out of my pocket! The truck was dirty in the back and smelled like weed, the code I was given for the self pickup was the incorrect code so I couldn't get into my truck without assistance. The truck didn't come with the dolly or blankets that I paid for so after I got home I had to drive back to pick up the other equipment. Also when returning the truck, there was a line of about 6 people in the store but there were no workers in the store. *when I did get customer service, the lady who helped me was very nice.Tyler B.

Overall, the experience was okay. However, upon arriving for self- checkin to get keys, working the the instructions on the app, there was a second lick on the vehicle where ni key was provided. Luckily the one person working was able to scurry between customers to cone and unlock the track for me to retrieve the key. Upon receiving access to the loading side if the truck, there was no sight of the key anywhere in he truck. Again, getting a hold of the scurrying young man to provide us with the key to the vehicle. I took a short video of the truck before starting it up. When i started the truck, I came to find it 10 miles to empty...I was then told that i would be reimbursed for the gas. Let's hope that is the case. Moving is already exhausting in itself and I expected at least basic standards for receiving my truck for the day of my move, but this was subpar. I had to wait 30 minutes to get help when I returned the vehicle. Ended up going inside and was told to go back out to meet someone to return the vehicle. They didn't come out and I waited several more minutes before finally being helped but the lady didn't have the equipment to return so she told me she would finalize everything later and send me an email receipt. Some peeved that caused me to move were; my unit door was missing the insulation rubber around it making it easy for bugs and rodents to enter and there was a persistent wasp nest in the eaves above my unit. Not sure if a customers comments make a impact with Corporate. If it does, then please know this; The entire staff at 5220 Auburn UHAUL is an exceptionally wonderful team. They exhibit wonderful customer service skills, each and every time. There are times when the outcome is not to the customers liking. However, it doesn't mean the U-haul representatives did not do everything within their control to remedy a situation. This really should be acknowledged. To be honest, I figured it wouldn't be free because there would be hidden fees, etc. But when I turned in my key 5 days before the end of the first month, I was not charged. Truck left handle was missing. As a result, I fell off truck and scraped up my back. In significant pain to date. UHAUL paperwork shows storage access GATE hours as 5am to 10pm. Rented truck late in day, 2:00pm. Due to return truck and store items by 6:30pm on sat Oct 31,2020. Fell off truck which delayed return of truck and stopped to fill up gas to FULL status. Truck mileage was 56947 at UHAUL, returning mileage @7:42pm was 56953, BUT, we couldn't access the storage gate for entrance. We looked at our paperwork and receipt given to us by office and it states STORAGE ACCESS 5AM to 10PM. This was the deciding factor for closing out my current storage and moving to a closer storage facility. Unable to store my truck filled items in the unit and being told by staff that the area and facility deals with theft of gas and breaking into storage trucks, I drove the truck to my residence and secured it with a lock. I had to go to work at 3:30am Sunday morning and my vehicle was still parked at the UHAUL site, so I paid for a LYFT to take me to the UHAUL facility to pick my vehicle up, so I could go to work and reduce the possibility of theft. Also, I rented a truck earlier in the week for a ground unit that wasn't available. I paid for a truck that I couldn't use. Manager Andrew DID compensate me for this inconvenience. However, October 31, 2020 was a horrible, painful and stressful situation. I have left a storage facility to move to one of your facilities because of proximity and gate access, only to discover at night that the gate hours are no longer 5-10pm as your paperwork suggests.
