The truck I was using seemed to have some transmission issues that was really concerning while I was driving.Curtistra D.
The guy that was working there was not helpfull at all. He did even tell me what unit I had. I had to read through the paperwork to find out. He also made me pay for an extra day of truck rental because he didn't want to check the truck in even though I was on the property with the truck fully refueled and rented a storage unit there because I had to offload. On top of that he didn't check the truck in until 30 min after I left the property. I will never use these services again if this is how they treat people.Charles G. | First Impressions

Only issues were not being informed on my rental pick up location until after my pickup time, and the inconvenience of having to drive farther than planned and when I used my hitch on my car the employee who helped me put it on also didn't inform me I could flip 5he hitch (to make sure it was up higher, and wouldn't scrape the ground or hit my car) so I had issues with the trailer scraping alot, and it also caused some minor cosmetic damage to my car. Storage was broken into. My licks were changed without my knowledge and mice droppings was all in my furniture and clothing. I will never use this place again.. Black people beware. Have the truck available at the location that was reserved. After talking to a manager I asked she call ahead and make sure the place we bring was ready for us and had a truck , she said she would. Returning the truck I was charged more than quoted on the call the gentleman was abrasive. Check in was much more pleasant. I guess that the difference when you want the business & now my credit card is at your mercy. I have used Uhaul several times & never had a billing problem until now, I won't be using Uhaul again. I rented a storage on Tuesday never put anything in and that Saturday I called to cancel because on Friday I got the keys to a new apartment I thought it would be a couple weeks or months that’s why I got storage but I called 4 days later and they kept my $90 they could of just charged me for those 4 days people are on fixed income struggling with work due to Covid they have no consideration I will never recommend them or ever use them I rather give my things awayKatherine r. | Overall Experience
My drop off location on the text and email was listed as 350 Berlin Cross Keys road, I got there and clicked the link provided and the address was changed to 270 White Horse Pike. We get there and it is a senior living apartment complex. Now it's late and we've just spent 12 hours moving and the address was wrong a second time. So we google uhaul and it's 270 N white horse pike NEVER specified by north or south on the link provided it gave us a wrong map location. Unacceptable after a long cold day moving. I have used this location several times for all my moving needs. The only improvement that I could suggest is it would be nice if I was given a lifetime supply of pizza for renting the truck. This would not be a deal that would apply to everyone. It would only be for me.Matthew C.

Don't lie to customers that trucks are not available when they are at multiple locations. We booked a 26' truck a month in a advance and we were told there were none in our area and several locations were checked. To then be forced into a 20' truck the night before our move. We also had to rent a trailer at a different location only for a 26' truck to be available at that lot. The customer service at that location had no idea why were told the 26' was not available. We were in a situation where we were selling and buying on the same day. We had to be out by Monday morning and were â€œhomelessâ€ until we made settlement on our new property later that afternoon. We had limited options in the final hour of our move and if our family and friends did not help us in a big way by housing a good portion of our belongings we would of had to leave it all behind. We then were forced to keep the 20' for additional time to go around and pick up our belongings from there various locations.Ian T.

There was a whit girl on duty I didn't get there unti 2:30 pm but I did call her that I will be late when I got there she told me if I don't get the car back by 9 am the next day she will report the car stolen. I originally rented the truck for 24 hr . She was extremely rude and didn't care if I didn't take the truck today. She was on duty on 8/31 but I don't know if she worked the next day. The person who returned the truck on paperwork the name is Chrystal passaretti. I didn't finish all my moving and I would like to get a truck for free for few hrs since I paid full price and I only hade the truck for 4 hrsZafar S.

The location was absolutely fine. U-Haul. Was not. Due to availability of my rental, U-Haul changed my pick up location and also my pick up time without notifying me in the slightest. This was a major issue as I was working with a tight schedule. I arrive at my 24-7 pick up about 30 minutes late and was notified that my reservation expired. Again, no warning, nothing. If I have a reservation for a specific time and the service you offer is 24-7 pick up...start my charges at the time of the res and let me pick it up whenever. Then I can't get anyone of the phone for 30 minutes so I'm forced to use the â€œlive chatâ€ app which takes FOREVER. The person tells me they will make a new reservation but I need a contact person. It's late at night and no one is answering their phones so she won't let me rent until she talks to someone. I finally get a buddy to pick up and he tells me that all the person from U-Haul did was say â€œyou know the renter?â€ â€œGreatâ€ and hung up. That's it. That's why you held me up?! For that?! It was just such an agonizing experience. The site is convoluted and confusing, they can and will change your rental without warning and won't facilitate any help, regardless of how inconvenient they just made the situation, the pick up and drop off situations are needlessly lengthy, complicated and just annoying. I've worked in car rental for 5+ years and U-Haul should take a good look at how other companies do business, because your way sucks. TLDR: 10/10 on annoying. Would not recommend.Charles M.

My complaint is regarding UHaul's practices as a whole - I specifically scheduled the pick up location to be where I have my storage unit. When I called, I was told this was no problem. A couple days later, I received an email saying the location and size of my rental truck had been changed without my approval. When I called to contest the change, I was given the run around and told there was nothing that could be done. After 3 different phone calls, the Schedule Dept at least provided me a reduced mileage rate. I understand that my move was over a holiday weekend and trucks may have been in higher than normal demand. BUT then, my father - who is moving this Thursday (middle of the week) - tells me the SAME THING just happened to him. If U-Haul can not guarantee locations or truck size, they need to be completely transparent about this. Waiting until days before a move - when the client can no longer reserve a truck elsewhere - to change the reservation is a shady business practice.Nicole C.

My unit was covered in mouse pee and poop and the staff told be it was my problem bc I didn’t have insurance in my unit. I payed $100 a month for 4 years for U-haul to keep my stuff safe and protected, why should I have to pay more for insurance. If I was told in the beginning that I needed insurance for a rodent problem, I would never have put my stuff there in the first place! I had to throw out 90% of my things! From the outside looking in, it looks amazing. And it is to a certain extent. The employees were helpful when needed, and the overall place was convenient and kept clean. Although, throughout my experience of just short of a year, I’ve had many problems with rats in my storage. If counted, I probably found over 2lbs of rat feces in my lifetime at Uhaul. As well as I found a ton of sunseed shells (the rats feed) throughout the storage unit... I changed the poison box that they gave me numerous of times. But that didn’t stop the rats. I found a pile of rat hair in a box of clothes that I’ve had in the storage as well. But when brought up to the employees of Uhual, they said they can’t do anything about it. Thankfully, I was leaving the storage unit a few days after I found the rat hair in my box of clothes. I don’t know if this rat problem was necessarily a Uhual problem, or maybe there was just a hole in the storage. But it would’ve been nice to receive some type of compensation or anything to relieve my stress of the problem. When gate was inoperable, staff had no other choice than to leave storage area unsecured by leaving gate in the 'open' position.
