Don't lie to customers that trucks are not available when they are at multiple locations. We booked a 26' truck a month in a advance and we were told there were none in our area and several locations were checked. To then be forced into a 20' truck the night before our move. We also had to rent a trailer at a different location only for a 26' truck to be available at that lot. The customer service at that location had no idea why were told the 26' was not available. We were in a situation where we were selling and buying on the same day. We had to be out by Monday morning and were “homeless” until we made settlement on our new property later that afternoon. We had limited options in the final hour of our move and if our family and friends did not help us in a big way by housing a good portion of our belongings we would of had to leave it all behind. We then were forced to keep the 20' for additional time to go around and pick up our belongings from there various locations.

There was a whit girl on duty I didn't get there unti 2:30 pm but I did call her that I will be late when I got there she told me if I don't get the car back by 9 am the next day she will report the car stolen. I originally rented the truck for 24 hr . She was extremely rude and didn't care if I didn't take the truck today. She was on duty on 8/31 but I don't know if she worked the next day. The person who returned the truck on paperwork the name is Chrystal passaretti. I didn't finish all my moving and I would like to get a truck for free for few hrs since I paid full price and I only hade the truck for 4 hrs

The location was absolutely fine. U-Haul. Was not. Due to availability of my rental, U-Haul changed my pick up location and also my pick up time without notifying me in the slightest. This was a major issue as I was working with a tight schedule. I arrive at my 24-7 pick up about 30 minutes late and was notified that my reservation expired. Again, no warning, nothing. If I have a reservation for a specific time and the service you offer is 24-7 pick up...start my charges at the time of the res and let me pick it up whenever. Then I can't get anyone of the phone for 30 minutes so I'm forced to use the “live chat” app which takes FOREVER. The person tells me they will make a new reservation but I need a contact person. It's late at night and no one is answering their phones so she won't let me rent until she talks to someone. I finally get a buddy to pick up and he tells me that all the person from U-Haul did was say “you know the renter?” “Great” and hung up. That's it. That's why you held me up?! For that?! It was just such an agonizing experience. The site is convoluted and confusing, they can and will change your rental without warning and won't facilitate any help, regardless of how inconvenient they just made the situation, the pick up and drop off situations are needlessly lengthy, complicated and just annoying. I've worked in car rental for 5+ years and U-Haul should take a good look at how other companies do business, because your way sucks. TLDR: 10/10 on annoying. Would not recommend.

My complaint is regarding UHaul's practices as a whole - I specifically scheduled the pick up location to be where I have my storage unit. When I called, I was told this was no problem. A couple days later, I received an email saying the location and size of my rental truck had been changed without my approval. When I called to contest the change, I was given the run around and told there was nothing that could be done. After 3 different phone calls, the Schedule Dept at least provided me a reduced mileage rate. I understand that my move was over a holiday weekend and trucks may have been in higher than normal demand. BUT then, my father - who is moving this Thursday (middle of the week) - tells me the SAME THING just happened to him. If U-Haul can not guarantee locations or truck size, they need to be completely transparent about this. Waiting until days before a move - when the client can no longer reserve a truck elsewhere - to change the reservation is a shady business practice.
