Sherry who is the store manager at this location is an empathetic, kind, compassionate and a very understanding person. She is polite, kind and eager to help people. These are the qualities that are required in any type of job where your job is to help people. She takes good care of her customers, she does an outstanding job. The one thing that U-Haul needs to change is the fact that when you call their 800 number they give you wrong information and that information is not aligned with the information you get when you call the store on Johnston Street. I was told that some some stores just rent trucks and they don't have storage units, the 800 number should advise you of that and give you the direct number to the stores that have truck rentals and storage units, but they don't give you that information. Sherry advised that when you rent a truck you get a unit free for the first month of any size. The 800 number told me that the first free month that they offer depends on the size truck you rent. The information that was given to me by the 800 number was incorrect. They should all give us the same information and they should all have the same promotions but they don't. Uhaul needs to work on that because it is extremely frustrating and they could loose business due to wrong information given to customers and the frustration that we go through. When I the 800 number and was given the wrong information I was going to give up and go to public storage. The Johnson st location gives you the correct information and Sherry makes things work for the customer in order to please the customer and get the business, that is what a great manager does, she makes things work for the benefit of the customer. This location is very clean and very well-maintained. The ladies bathroom is very clean which is extremely important. Sherry gets an A+ on how she maintains the property and restrooms. The maintenance of this property and the restrooms is extremely important especially during this pandemic. I must say that everything is very clean, the upkeep of this property all around is very important because that is where we are storing our personal belongings. Sherry and this specific U-Haul location gets an A+ all the way around. It has been a real pleasure dealing with her and storing my belongings there. I just hope that things do not change, but if they do, I would be the first one to tell you all about it and post another review. In my opinion Sherry should be promoted to district manager because her priority is her store and her customers, not every store has the amazing customer service, the upkeep of this location and her true desire to help her clients, so if she were to ever become a district manager I'm sure she would demand the same of every location. I must say that I walked into the sunrise location and the lady at the front desk was extremely curt and very rude to me. I am happy that she didn't have a large Storage for me to rent because the Sunrise location was more convenient for me, but even if she would've had a storage unit for me and she would've been free, I still would've never rent it there.

Service was good, but unfortunately I had to stop to fill a tire up with gas. All vehicles should be checked for tire pressure before a customer drives off the lot. It was scary driving and see that come on the dash of a uhaul. But the manager and associate made everything smooth. That would be the only call out

My family and I would like to personally thank Cheri Clarke, the General Manager at Coconut Creek. She was absolutely amazing. Our experience was very enjoyable due to her professionalism, problem solving, and a great work ethic. Just when we were ready to give up on Uhaul services, Cheri went out of her way ( on her day off none the less) to make sure that we were taken care of. When someone takes pride in their work, it shows. The level of integrity on her part is to be an example to all. My family and I cannot thank Cheri enough for the exceptional service we received. WE NEED MORE CHERI’S IN THE WORLD.

Used thr online feature to return van, but the associates there would not let me put my keys im the drop box. They insisted I stage the van at their regular in person drop off area. This defeated the whole purpose of being able to return online.

We had trouble getting the lights on the trailer to work once connected to my truck. The staff was unbelievable as they went through every possible solution until it worked. Most people would have said so sorry and sent me away. They problem solved and got me going.

always check your millage, I trusted them, and im being charged 40 extra miles. tried calling and spent 20-30 min on hold. sent a email still no answer. I have always had good luck with uhaul. this was a new store i tried. Keep in mind they have your credit card, and can charge what ever they like. So again check rental in yourself if possible

You should have some kind of lift assist for your employees. It is not safe for your employees to lift a double axle trailer onto a vehicle by themselves. Your workers comp rate must be astronomical

Cherri Clarke was SUPERB!!! She went beyond the call of duty; answering a question for me on Christmas Eve and being thoroughly professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant! Much can be said of the entire staff. Finally, this storage facility is the cleanest and well-maintained I have ever seen! Put in a pool and a breakfast buffet and I am moving in!

I originally got this storage room when the pandemic had just started and they had the one free month special for college students. The staff that did my initial process wasn’t nice at all and failed to let me know that I had to get a specific round lock for the unit when I asked she said that any was fine. It was then when I was already living 5 hours away that I kept getting calls about that I needed a new lock because it wasn’t “correct” and once I finally was able to move back down to the area I couldn’t access my unit with out paying a fee for something that should’ve been told to me initially. When I switched debit cards I forgot to update it on my account and was so used to doing autopay instead of calling or emailing me I get emailed a week later about getting a late fee, that again could’ve been easily fixed if I got contacted about it before the bill was due. Another experience I had with getting a moving truck here wasn’t too pleasant either. If I do have to do storage with uhaul again I’ll have to try a different location.

The representative told me that he miles charge is 39 cents per mile not 99 cents as was charged. The representative that give the estimate was a woman looking tired and passing a feeling that she was not happy . She was very rudde and umpleasent .

Truck had an awful vibration/noise that was very unpleasant to listen to for 140 miles. Handle on glove box was missing. Pictures provided at rental were not all of the truck we were given. Staff was friendly and very courteous.

It would really help if when you make an appt to go through the UBOX that when you arrive at the sight there is someway that the person helping you can find the information when they go into the computer. Each time I went to remove items from my ubox I had questions from the service person of repeating my last name or repeating my phone number because they could not find my box. then once they had found it they had to find someone to tell them where the ubox was located on the property. The people were very nice but it did seem that the information was not always in the computer. from the start it got to Florida with no problem but the first time I went to go in the box at the sight they told it was sent to it had been moved to another sight and I was not told. Then they sent me to the new sight and they could not find it. I know Covid caused many staff problems but I found it difficult because I was never sure what I would here when I got to the sight. I would use this service again but I will ask more questions going forward. Thank you.

The young man who hooked up the trailer was difficult to understand, he mumbled and I had to ask him to repeat himself. Maybe he was having a hard day or maybe he could get some training to improve his communication. Otherwise he was efficient and a hard worker.

I am a frequent renter. I am loyal and rent trailers several times a month. I rented this trailer and paid for 24 hrs. Agreed to pay the fee for 24 hrs. Only used it for a couple of hrs, got stuck in traffic and returned it a couple of minutes after 7. No one was there, no one helped me and now I was charged $20. Extra !! Not acceptable! I have a picture showing the time I dropped it off. This is not fair, I was never told there would be a fee and I feel this $20. Fee should be returned. I am a loyal customer even after one of your employees damaged my vehicle I didn't make it an issue. I don't want to go on social media with this but I'm waiting to see what happens. I use uhaull alot and this was my worst experience EVER! Not only was i not told that the elevator was not working until right before my arrival. The workers they had helping didnt care about what they were moving and made sure they scratched or dented everything they moved. Like my white tv stand and my couch because they were rushing. So make sure you are watching everything

the elevator has been out of service for much too long and there is no excuse for it not being fixed. it is wrong for customers to have to walk up stairs to put their belongings in storage, especially when you are a senior citizen. what excuse is there for not having a working elevator?

The storage facility itself was good. The staff were helpful when we first moved in. A week before we were moving our stuff out, we had driven from our house (40 mins away) to the unit to find out the elevator was broken and the stuff we needed to put in wouldn’t fit in the stairwell. A few days later, we needed to book movers for our move out and the Uhaul representative on the phone assured me the elevator would be working because it would be a week from then (surely it wouldn’t take more than a week to fix the elevator!! And surely if it wasn’t fixed, we’d be told so we could plan accordingly!!) Well guess what? It didn’t happen. After we paid $300 for our movers...expecting it to take a certain amount of time based on the time it took us to move in WITH the elevator...it took the FULL time for the movers to move everything down the stairs and they couldn’t complete the job. They had another appointment after us so they couldn’t help us unload at our house. If we had been aware of the elevator being out of service, we wouldn’t have spent $300 on movers! Thanks for the awesome communication, Uhaul.

my rating is based on the fact that there are no rooms available on the street level and the elevator was not working, which means i'd have to carry my storage items up 2 flights of stairs. i have a heart condition and cannot do this. i am interested in renting a 5x5 room however, if it can't be on the first floor, the elevator must be working. hopefully, the elevator will be fixed this week, as i need to rent a storage room by month end.

It’s my 3rd time using this store. I booked a 20ft truck and reserved a 10x10 unit on the 1st floor before I left. I received confirmation that the unit on the first floor was available. When I went to get into the truck the person told me it was in the “garage” so I went looking for it, after several minutes of walking I was not able to find it because it wasn’t there, it was in the other side of the building so you can understand I was a little frustrated. After a long day of moving, my help and I arrived back to unload and place everything in the unit I had made the reservation in the 1st floor, we started unloading and bringing about 2 trips inside just to find out that the unit was still occupied!!!!! Horrible! I went back inside and the woman said it happens often, well it’s unacceptable! We had to load everything back and drive to the side of the building to store in the 2nd floor. I was livid and so my was help, extremely disappointed at the lack of communication and customer service.

This was one of the best Uhaul the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Very trustworthy they went above and beyond to meet my needs. The manager has friendly kind attitude he never made me feel that he was unapproachable. Elevator stop working in the middle of moving

The girl at the desk barely understood anything. She proceeded to give me a 2nd floor unit after being told the elevator was broken for 5e 2nd floor. She was a deer in headlights how that wouldn’t work. She finally moved me to 3rd floor (she had no idea where it was on a map.) we then got stuck in the broken elevator while holding a couch. Called the emergency button in the elevator and it went to a uhaul recording (is that legal?) It was like a hidden camera prank show, and the employees low IQ is a Corp liability

I went to this location many times last week and every time they helped me with everything I asked, even at the last minute when they were even closed. Yes, I recommend this location and for sure I will use it again if necessary.

We rented a truck and were offered free 1 month storage. The storage unit provided was on the 3rd floor and the furthest away from the elevator. Other units were available on the first, second floor and closer to the elevators. This distance added to our moving time making us incur in more expenses as we needed to rent the truck extra days.

Elevator at the facility was broken!! With no warning or notice by front desk staff!!! What if I had planned on loading furniture into my storage unit the day I got the keys to my 2nd floor unit?! Outrageous. Also, it took us over 30 minutes to locate our unit as the key card was not working. I understand they aren’t doing unit showings due to COVID but the front desk lady did a horrible job at explaining where the unit was and how to access it. She told us only how to access it from the elevator (WHICH WAS BROKEN) and said nothing about stairs. We were drenched in sweat running around the building trying every single door. Only for her to finally explained after 30 minutes of getting lost that we have to use the stairs (and no key card is needed?!?!) since the elevator is broken. Such a waste of time. I pray that the elevator is not broken next weekend when I move my things into my storage unit. After this experience, I will not rent here again. For the price I paid, I expected much better.

Upon arrival to return the truck, I mentioned to the attendant that I wanted to rent a storage unit and that I needed to unload before returning the truck. She proceeded to tell me to return the truck first, only to have the other employee tell to go get the unit first. One she was done helping another customer I explained I need the unit first. I had to repeat the size of the unit I needed 3 times. She finally gave me the entry Card with no map, unloaded my truck headed to the unit only to find out it was a handicap unit. I had to return to her once again and told her she had given me the wrong unit. Her reaction was apologetic at all. Got back on the computer and gave me the unit furthest away from the elevation and not once apologize for giving the wrong unit on purpose. I have been to uhaul mover 10 times and this is by far the worse service I’ve had at uhaul. Jimena Chumbe should be retrained. My customers receipt number is 7880-28-102331-109616. Due to lack of professionalism I wasted 1 hour going back and forth dealing my return by an hour. The rest of the staff was great.

I rented a truck on 06/10 at 06:00pm to deliver on the same day around 11:00pm. Nobody told me that the storage would be closed at 10pm. I was told all the time that it would be 24h for me. I arrived on 06/10 at night with the truck totally loaded and for my surprise, my access was denied and I couldn't get in the building. I called the customer service but the lady couldn't do anything. I had to come back to my house with the truck. On the other day, 06/11, I went to the Uhaul Store (Coconut Creek, Johnsons Rd, FL) @ 7am and I told them about the inconvenient that I had and I would pay only one day of rent because I couldn't unload the truck due to a Uhaul's fault. An attendant called Jimena agreed with that. On the 06/11 I went to the uhaul storage to unload the truck around 06pm. Same msg appeared on the device's screen next to the door: "ACCESS DENIED" as soon as I put my code. I ran to the office and told them about that same message that was also appearing on the day before. The attendant said: "You should swipe your card" and I said: "Nobody gave me a card" and the attendant was surprised. He went to the office and brought back a card and said" Use this card". I started unloading the truck and around 06:50pm I swiped the card and the same msg appeared: "ACCESS DENIED" I ran to the office again while they were locking the door. They were very rude, saying that the system was already closed and they didn't know if they could do something about. I found a customer, an old man, and he told me that there is a main device that we need to swipe the card first and it worked. The Uhaul's attendants were very unprepared. I told them that it was my first time and even this way they didn't instruct me properly and/or they didn't know about their own internal process. For my new surprise, when I was returning the truck by the website: www.uhaul.com/share, I was charged for both days instead of one as the attendant Jimena agreed to do I really really really do not recommend the Uhaul Storage of Coconut Creek and I would like you guys to proceed with only one day of rent. Also, just to let you guys know, I rented an space of 10x15" for around 3 months but I wont do that in the future with Uhaul Coconut Creek (Johnsons Road).

When the 24/7 access system is down, management needs a backup plan for folks who have paid for AND signed a contract for such access. I.e. pay an employee to stay on-site after hours until fixed.

Billed me $127 for turning in my tow dolly late, which was incorrect. Had to be later refunded to me. Then sent me an email regarding a storage unit bill, which I never rented (still ongoing).
