No call / no show on a committed pick up/ drop off window. Customer service was mostly unavailable at the local site or unhelpful. Only the area manager was helpful. Local managers didn't contact upon request for assistance. Box was damaged during transport. It took multiple calls to schedule delivery. Many system issues that resulted in extra time needed to arrange delivery.

I think prices could be adjusted.
I basically had to run roughly 90 miles with a 10ft truck but it was a straight shot with 2 turns. I would have been ohkay with just $100. Especially since there isn’t a gas package I know of so having to also refuel. Just to carry 2 items 40ish miles one way and then have to return it the other 40 miles back. It was about $135 ended up misjudging time so had to rent another day to return it early and it was roughly another additional 30
So I think almost $170 just for 90 miles and without insurance I believe is a little wild. Like even when the extra day I think maybe $150 total is super reasonable. But almost branching $200. That’s just my thoughts.

I've been using this storage unit for years. From when I first moved to VA back in 2021 , thru my divorce , and thru a new relationship to buying a new house. The staff has been friendly and helpful. Even though you may remove your items completely before the month is completed you will not receive a pro rated refund from UHaul so they may double dip. You have already paid for the month but now have found a home for you to belongings and can move them out early, UHaul gives you no money back and another person can assume your rental paying UHaul for the full month so they have your money plus the new patron coming in. A rip off I will never store with UHaul again. Travis at this specific location was a big help to this old 74 year old woman trying to move a pedestal queen size frame and mattress. He was quite the gentleman and very very respectful. Very pleased to have met him! He even helped back my truck to the loading dock for me.

I’m concerned about the possibility of rodent problems. My unit has Opening in the floor, and Box as you walk in. Is the unit completed? It appears that there is no walls installed. I’m familiar with UHaul in Bronx NY. All units had walls/sheet rock.

I could not have had a worse experience. When I arrived at the building the dock was blocked, so I was unable to move into the unit. When I called customer service, I was transferred to the GM’s VOICE MAIL. So not only was I not able to move my items into the storage unit, I had to put more miles on the rental truck, at a cost of like $2?? a mile, and spend two more hours unloading everything I had spent two hours loading into the truck. On top of this U-HAUL CHARGED ME TWICE. I spent HOURS on the phone with various customer service people, to no avail. My money is being held hostage because this company will not release the hold they have on the SECOND charge. It is 2 days later and I have yet to have a phone call returned from the facility. So, I am out $500 for renting a truck that had less than one hundred miles put on it and my house is full of all the items I couldn’t place in the storage unit. I’m a LITTLE upset. Thanks for coming to my TED talk on what awful customer service looks like!

I was assigned unit 24. I hired moving help through Uhaul. When got to the unit, it was full of furniture. They then told me to go to unit 25, which was also full of furniture. I was then assigned a smaller unit. When we got thereit had a lock on it. Then lock was remover and we were able to move in. The smaller unit barely held the things I had to store. I resllg needed the 8x8. And, with all of the moving around, I hadbyonpay for an extra hour for the helpers.

I'm Gregory Gwynn and I have been in the hospital for four months and 10 days. Two open heart surgeries and COVID. I was spoken to rudely by a associate about my past due balance. Haven't had access to my cell phone for some time and my items in my storage unit was sold from under me and I'm very displeased with the outcome. I didn't have any control of what happened to me and been on my death bed for months and to survive and overcome this just to have all my belongings sold. My memories of dead family members priceless can't be replaced I might as well died to loose the memories of my dead child,mother, grandma. I'm hurt.

The only problem I had was when your driving the truck it's had to get the gears to change when you going down hill and a up hill cline, the sound of the greats changing was so loud and it took a moment for the speed to go where you need it to be in order to keep up the the traffic. Other then that it was a good trip from Phoenix to Virginia. Thank you.

The staff were well above excellent. Very helpful, making sure that the renters felt safe and secure of property. Each staff workers got along well with each other. They are well knowledge of their position & anything that you need to know. I need an extra hand with loading my property into the unit they took their time & they deliberated very well. I would recommend my friends, family, strangers & my enemies if they are nearby or in city & need a store their property, go toDainesville Riverside in Virginia.

Both (2) of my storage units were water damaged and molded from a leak at this uhaul location! I was deployed with the U.S. Army at the time of this incident. I was not notified by email nor phone call that a leak had occurred in my specific units! The manager Darren Bennett even acknowledged that he was aware of the leak and failed to notify me. This is unacceptable to come back from serving your country and I had no furniture to furnish my house with!!!

The only entrance I was shown was on a old loading dock for semi trucks, the U-Haul trucks are several feet lower than the dock so every thing has to be lifted up to get it into the building. The small area is normally filled with so many U-Haul trucks that you can't get in or out easily with a regular truck let alone try to pull a trailer in and out.

Had an online reservation and the check in process till took over an hour and multiple attempts in person. The staff were helpful but I’m not a fan of the check in process. Storage rooms are also far away from the entrance so if you have a lot of things to store, it’ll take forever to put it away. Ended up going to the storage facility across the street, process took 5 mins.

Excellent service from the staff in the Danville, Va location.
What I was not too happy about is that the computer system was down the entire day 5/1/2021. This really was a big inconvenience for us. I think there should be a back plan for when the system is down.... you never know when computers will go down, the business should still be able to function...

Also it takes way too long to get things done the staff takes forever because half the time it dont be anyone running the inside. I caught the employee at BK when he was literally the only one there suppose to be running the store.need to do some things better

Facilities are not set up for moving. There is no ramp to be able to push your stuff up to get it up on the dock. You have to lift everything over a huge concrete wall. The lack of parking is absolutely ridiculous. UHaul trucks are packed in the parking lot like sardines. It is almost impossible to get a truck and trailer in the parking and be able to turn it around and leave when you are done. The front of the cement wall where you load and unload your stuff is slippery in front of the drain and is nasty with all of the trash sitting there in the water. Huge safety issue. We ended up leaving and going to another storage unit because we had to wait so long to back up to the dock to unload our things. UHaul really needs to find a better location within the city of Danville for the storage units. One where there is a ramp and you don't have to lift your furniture over a huge cement wall and there is plenty of space for the trucks to be parked and then for your customers to still be able to access the storage units.
