The truck was good, and the location was clean. When we went to return the truck, however, the agent does not have enough intelligence to handle this basic transaction. She thought we were returning it a day late, and was starting to charge us for an extra day. After she called the district manager, and after I was very stressed for about 20 minutes, they finally realized that the local agent got today's dates wrong. I also found it very difficult to understand her through her accent. I am not at all a bigot, but between the difficulty understanding her, and her being dumb as dirt, it was an unnecessarily stressful experience that I really really am unhappy about.Jetta A.

The vehicle was old, the oil light kept coming on... the alarm bell kept sounding on... because the driver side door would not shut fully. It was a bit dangerous... I only traveled 44 miles so I tolerated the lousy vehicle. in the future I will only accept newer models. Staff at this location not friendly nor helpful. As of today 2 days after returning the vehicle, I have not received a final bill... which should be a lot less then what was charged. The employee charged me for 100 miles and assured me it would be corrected once vehicle returned... Still no final bill.... Looks like I will have to dispute any unauthorized charges. I needed storage while I was waiting to move. This was my first experience using a storage center. Beth and her team made the experience a good one. I was usually there on Saturdays and Cynthia and Charlie were friendly and attentive. Ned kept the place looking good. Sharon and Rose always had a smile. Matt and Billy were there to answer questions. If I left anyone out know that I never left UHaul Danvers without thinking, that was a good experience. I brought a truck back with what I thought was a quarter tank of gas in it and they said no it was under The fees that were charged for this was a total of 48.00!!!. What?. They will say that it's in the contract you signed, but that does not make it right!!. Its bad enough that UHaul will charge 5 00 a gal. for the fuel but the extra 30.00 for a "fuel service fee" ? give me a break. The associates were very friendly and helpful and it was easy to get in and out of the storage unit itself (once I got there). My one complaint is that traffic flow is difficult around the facility. I'm not sure how to resolve that. We didn't have too much of a problem but I imagine during your busy times if there are a lot of people there, parking and access might be difficult. Also, the entrance is sort of hidden and easy to miss, and I was very glad to see you put a lighted sign at the entrance from route 1--that will help with visibility. During a stressful time of getting our entire top floor hardwood floors refinished, Beth was so very helping in setting up a plan for us and saved us over $350.00. After renting here for 12 months, I spent a whole day moving to a less conveniently-located facility because this U-Haul location is so bad. I have: (1) been locked out of my unit (not billing related), (2) been trapped in the facility, (3) had papers in my “air conditioned” unit ruined due to humidity, and (4) measured the indoor temperature last week at 29 degrees Fahrenheit. All the while, I experienced totally inept customer service. 1) Over the course of two weeks, I visited my unit after hours twice and was unable to use my card to get in. After going out of my way to visit during office hours, I was told, “Oh yeah the card readers don’t work on building D… we will get you PIN access.” U-Haul management should have notified customers rather than leaving it to us to figure out that the card reader wasn’t working. 2) On December 11th at 5pm I entered the facility, which has one entrance and one exit off the highway, only to find construction trucks blocking the exit. After notifying the construction crew to my presence, I was still unable to access my unit or even leave the facility for 20 minutes. This could have easily been prevented by management coordinating to move U-Haul trucks that eliminated means of navigating around the construction trucks. 3/4) Don’t expect the indoor “air-conditioned” units to amount to anything. For over a month this summer, A/C was malfunctioning in building D such that the floor had pools of water from condensation on pipes… the resulting humidity was enough to destroy any exposed papers items in storage. This winter, I measured the building’s inside temperature to be below freezing. I understand that things break, but at least notify your customers! When I was dealing with the broken card readers on July 17, 2020, one of the employees was not wearing a mask. He was talking to two customers (both wearing masks) at a short distance. Regardless how you feel about masks, his attitude was objectively disrespectful towards those customers. This total lack of care is made apparent by every single U-Haul employee at this location by their inability to provide reasonably reliable unit access and/or notification of the facility’s state of disrepair.Tyler F. | Overall Experience

U-Haul of Danvers is definitely a secure place, there are cameras everywhere. I went Thursday night to close out my storage unit and the front desk had 2 workers. This was a last minute storage rental I made with Beth an hour before closing. I had a reservation for a truck and storage unit at U-Haul 222 Central Street Saugus but they close early (Thursday 2/20/20 before 4:30) so I was left high and dry. I ended up getting my truck from Ricky at the Saugus Broadway facility and he recommended Beth at the Danvers facility for my storage units. Beth was knowledgeable and professional and I would recommend both the Saugus Broadway facility and the Danvers facility. Stay away from U-Haul at 222 Central Street Saugus.
