I recently rented a trailer from this U-Haul location. After the representative attached the trailer to my truck, I hit the road but immediately noticed a strong vibration. I contacted U-Haul, and after walking through some basic diagnostics, they suggested the issue might be due to the trailer being empty. After loading the trailer, the vibration persisted throughout the entire trip—until one of the tires eventually blew out. We pulled over on IH-35, where traffic was flying by at over 75 MPH. I contacted U-Haul again, but instead of prioritizing our safety, the representative seemed more concerned with getting a photo of the damaged wheel. I was told they couldn't dispatch anyone unless I provided a picture and was advised to seek a third-party repair service. Reluctantly, I stepped out in a dangerous situation to take the required photo, then called U-Haul back a third time to explain the urgency. Thankfully, at that point, I was contacted by James from Context LLC. He was incredibly helpful—communicative, prompt, and most importantly, concerned for our safety. He made sure we were in a secure location before working and replaced both trailer tires, noting that both were in poor condition. His professionalism was the only positive part of an otherwise frustrating experience. Going forward, I’ll be very hesitant to rent from U-Haul again. The roadside service and customer support were deeply disappointing—James from Context LLC was the only highlight.

DANIEL MI was told I could pick up equipment at one location near me...then the night before pick-up the location was changed. My return location was changed 3 times...the 1st they said was full and couldn't take it, the second was closed when I needed to return it and the 3rd couldn't take a trailer but they were at least super nice and found us a place that could take it. The person at the return location needed me to prove the brakes and turn signals worked before he would unhitch it. Not sure why that would be our responsibility but of course they worked...we checked them every morning before we hit the road. He also asked if I needed a receipt. Why would someone drop off a piece of expensive equipment and not want a receipt? I've moved with U-Haul several times but don't think I would again. The customer service is next to non-existent. You don't seem to care that moving is stressful enough...you don't need to add to it.
JAN WThe elevators were broken on and off the whole time I was renting this facility we would get stuck in the elevator almost every time we came to visit. They said they would fix it. They never fixed it, and even the staff use the stairs instead of fixing the elevator, the inspection date on the elevator is still the same at this facility when you try to talk to somebody yes some of them were friendly, but mostly everybody seemed to hate their job with the exception of a few. I feel like I shouldn’t have had to pay full price for a facility that will not fix their elevator when you have to use an elevator to get to the lower level or upper level With all of your things

Alvin AStaff did not honor what was marked in contract as far as fuel level. They charged additional fees and did not care what they marked on the paperwork. It was my fault for not taking a picture of the gas gauge when I picked up the truck. I failed by trusting them. Truck had busted side mirror on passenger side when I picked up the truck. Mirrors are essential for lane changes, etc. in large vehicles. Counter help wasn’t willing to hear me or assist in the matters until I said never mind, I’ll reach out to corporate. Still zero resolution from that site.

Patrice t | Overall ExperienceIt was hard to find a parking space when going to my unit. The elevator was out when I went there one time and my sons had to carry a washer and dryer down the stairs. There are only to hand carts at this large facility so many times I had to haul my boxes in and out by hand. I was at my unit often and not being able to park near the loading area and not having access to hand carts was very frustrating. There should be a separate parking area for people going into the store versus dropping off or picking up items from the storage unit. In addition there should be at least 4 or more hand carts. On a positive note, the help there was fantastic. Angela who cleaned the facility during the day did an outstanding job and was very friendly. I enjoyed seeing her when I went to my unit. The office staff was also very good.

I was always treated with respect and got help when I needed it. The facility was always clean. In all the years we did not find a single bug or rodent in our storage units. The loading dock and carts make a tough core as convenient as could be expected. The only problem is parking near the storage building. At busy times it can be a zoo. The ability to prepay for a year to freeze current rate and get a 13th month free saved us hundreds of $$.

When I moved out she coldly said she did not have time check the unit. I am still getting late notices and letters in the mail. I moved out as I was required. Given the rude behavior of that employee Im not surprised at the poor book keeping practices at this facility. On top of that my unit was floored. I doubt that I will ever use U-haul again.

Then they proceeded to charge me a late fee on the new unit even contacting my next of kin. One notice threatened to prevent me access despite being paid in full. When I called I was not allowed to speak and I was spoken to so poorly by the manager that I absolutely cannot believe it. I rented a Penske truck and moved BOTH my units out and into a different storage unit. Luckily, at least for now, you are not the only game in town. I hope to never do business with U-Haul again, and I vowed to tell everyone who will listen about how poorly I was treated throughout this entire unfortunate experience.

Storage unit was on the second floor and was broken into and completely trashed twice. The second time it happened I was never even contacted. They refused to show the video tape even after the police arrived to take my statement. Later found out the break in happened 3 weeks prior to the original date they told me. Thousands of dollars worth of items stolen both times and the staff were completely unhelpful.

I created a pin that worked perfectly though. I found the floors were typically very clean, but there was trash and debris left by people. It always seemed to get cleaned up, but people kept making messes. I found the facility smelled like dirty clothes. I often would find the main doors open during the day. People would not check-in they would follow people in and would not seem to have credentials to check-in. I found the parking lot was often a disaster after hours and it was difficult to find a parking spot during the day. People seemed to leave their vehicles for extended periods in the parking spots and there was generally a shortage of spots available. I would often have to carry things across the parking lot to my vehicle.

I had to enter the main building to ask for help. I paid online so I wouldn't need to go inside due to COVID precautions because no employee was wearing a mask. When I got to my storage unit. The sliding part of the lock was extremely hard to move. I called for help but by the time the employee made it to me. I had used my cellphone to get the lock to slide over to open the unit. Well, the employee that did show up acted like he was annoyed with helping me. He asked, if I paid my 1st months rent. I told him that I wouldn't have gotten access if I hadn't. I let him know it was difficult to open but I got it open but the lock was not inside like previously stated while signing up online. I asked the employee would he bring it to me. He said," I could come to the office when I was ready because he had customers and he was busy." I did not appreciate that comment because I am a paying customer too and I explained to him I had already been in the office for help with access with door and I didn't want to go back to the office for something that should have already have been placed inside my unit. Later on my sister needed to get a few more boxes. The young lady on the register did not know how to ring her up. She was asked 8 time what size boxes she had. My sister let the employees know that customers was poor here. The employee that was annoyed the first time we needed help stated, "I'm not sure why you feel that way because I've only dealt with yall one time." My sister explained his comments were not needed. I rate this experience as poor because no employee should tell a customer I'm busy helping other customers and what you need does not matter. I am a customer as well and have used uhaul for over 10 years. Also, staff members that aren't fully trained should not be in Customer Service as this is the face of the company and when they lack knowledge or lack customer service skills this is a poor experience for your customers. No employee was apologized when we expressed we were not happy with the Customer Service.

This makes no sense and he corrected me and said it does! Ok So....I was to move my stuff to the unit beside my unit??? He obviously doesn’t understand what customer service means. He told me he didn’t have a button for that. Really...??? I moved everything out within the next two days and will not use Uhaul again. I know that doesn’t mean a thing to your bottom dollar, but it sure will be a story I share with anyone who asks about using Uhaul.

Being able to drive through a gate, then park close to your unit, and load through whatever door to the facility is closest to your unit is more efficient from my experience than a single door access location like this one. Elevator is large and this arrangement will work fine for periodic visits. Just took a little longer for initial “fill” and will take a little more time when we need to empty it.
