The Lady I rented the Van from was very Nice. The Person that was there when I dropped it off seemed to be very combative. Three people came out to check the Van when I dropped it off. Two of the women started pointing out a miniscule scratch that I couldn't even see. I said "I didn't hit anything guys" The guy climbed in the drivers seat and started looking very carefully at the Odometer. I told him I had to reset it because I was tracking my miles for work. I told him I travelled 40 miles. He then responded that I was Wrong , and said I travelled 40.5 miles, like I was lying to him. I said "Ok I was off by .5 miles. He seemed to think I was somehow trying to rip off U-Haul when I couldn't have cared less about a half of a mile. It was ridiculous. In fact It infuriated me. He seemed to think he had caught me in a lie when all I wanted to do was get going. I had to be at an Autobody shop before they closed to pick up my vehicle. I had a ride waiting for me to take me to my truck. The U-Haul representative seemed Irritated at me mwhen I mentioned I was In a hurry. I clearly sensed he hated my guts. It was a very uncomfortable interaction with this Individual. I would not Recommend him for customer service interaction. He clearly gets mad easily. He even suggested I tried to get out of 0.5 miles I travelled. I didn't even care about the miles. He was rude and unprofessional. He should have backed off and turned my interaction over to someone else. He clearly is used to dealing with problematic people of which I was not. In summary, I would not recommend him for frontline customer service contact. He is too easily upset and seemed combative from the beginning. He definitely seemed upset when I said I had to get to the body shop that was fixing my truck before they closed. I came to U-Haul so I wouldn't have to drive to Sherman to get a rental car. I will not use U-Haul again if this person is on duty. If I have to deal with this guy again, I will refuse and go somewhere else. On a positive note , Mellissa was very nice and helpful. She was the one that was there when I rented the Van. I would suggest some customer service classes for the male that was there when I dropped my truck off, or place him In a position where he has minimal customer interaction. Only concern is that U-Haul.com and the store location were not sharing the order information correctly for some reason. After my move, I got the boxes I had ordered and didn’t need them at that point. But I understand that technology, although convenient, still has its own limitations and problems.
