Had a mil light on the vehicle. Went inside and it cleared before owner of site saw it. He was very rude when I insisted the light was on. I indicated concern that the vehicle could break down. He said that is what roadside assistance was for. I decided to take vehicle anyway but I smelled gas when I cranked it. They did not want to to change the vehicle and insisted that the roadside assistance would take care of me. Very rude and confrontational with me and my wife. I just did not want to breakdown on the side of the interstate. I know what a MIL light is and that sometimes the go on and off. I also know what gas smells like. He finally changed the vehicle and said he would just rent it to the next customer. I will leave a review on the internet to warn other customers about this place. Somehow my reservation information was correct in my confirmation email but was totally incorrect when I showed up to pick up the cargo van I reserved. They had the wrong time, the wrong location, and because of that, they had no cargo vans, even though that's what I specifically wanted to rent. I ended up with a 10 foot truck instead and I was forced to make that work, because it was too late to make other arrangements. I doubt I'll ever use Uhaul ever again. I waited 3d 37 minutes for a truck reservation. My reservation was at 5:30 pm and I didnt get my truck until 6:07pm. I guess I should s count myself lucky as the gentleman behind was waiting g 2.5 hours for a hitch only to have to cancel it. Someone else arrived and the location didn't have their truck either. The guy entering my info into the computer lost it twice and had to start over even tho I emchecked in online. And when it was time to get the truck the girl at the counter wasn't even going to walk me over to the area where they are located because it was raining. I had a horrible experience with uhaul in 2019 but my friend convinced me to try again because it was probably a fluke. Nope. The parking lot was a mess. I was parked for 30 minutes, waiting in the truck I rented as I was told and lost my patience to go inside to see the employees were standing around, doing nothing. I talked to the woman that was there and she was totally unprofessional, rude, and was just picking at her nails. She even walked by me and the truck several times, looked at me, and did nothing. The entire experience with uHaul regarding returning my truck was frustrating and unnecessarily time consuming. At the return location the staff was inattentive. Took way too long.blane C.
Some staff are very helpful and others seem to be more the: "U-Haul renter, you can do it yourself..." kind of staff. That is fine because the U-Haul app has worked for checking in my rental truck. However, when I had a Auto Transport and a rental truck, I could not check in the Auto Transport separately and I had to seek out staff assistance. After dropping off the Auto Transport trailer on one day, about an hour before closing time, I had to come back the next day to actually check in the Auto Transport trailer because staff were too busy. I was also waiting for "Roadside Assistance" at the U-Haul location, due to a flat tire that occurred across the street from the U-Haul location. So, it wasn't super inconvenient, but the 387 Swannanoa River Road U-Haul definitely seems to be for the DIYers.Samuel C.

I rented a pick-up truck because I needed to tow a log-splitter. I had rented that, too. I arrived when the store opened to find that a traffic accident had knocked out power to the store--no info on when it would be restored. The day could have gone south very quickly, but the manager Traci assured me that I could check out on my phone, and she helped me do it, and got me on my way; and she was calm and unflappable throughout. Her attitude helped keep my angst in check, and I lost maybe 15 minutes on the day instead of hours. She happened to be pulling a double shift that day and I saw her 11 hours later when I returned the truck, too, still smiling. One recommendation for U-Haul: give Traci a significant raise.Brian H.

U-Haul order AF0F92EC. This order was needed for a move on 5/1/21 which was done via trailer 5/1/21. This was done through U-Haul so they knew when I was moving. I was sent only the ball and charged the full amount on 4/19/21. After 5 days of not hearing anything, I called customer service and was told that there was a 2-3 week back order on a product that I needed (and U-Haul knew I needed based on my reservation history) in 7 days time. I had to frantically search for a mount because nobody at uhaul felt The need to tell me that the item crucial to my move wasn't available for my move. So, after cancelling the order I had to go through the process of waiting in the phone, i was told I could only return in person. Come to find out you have this freaking product IN STORE. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I drove 20 minutes out of my way to a U-Haul. Your U-Haul refused to refund my hitch ball after I was informed by your customer service that if I gave them my receipt it would be taken care of. When I got there, they said they didn't do refunds. After 20 minutes of waiting and coaxing, they finally agreed but they couldn't find the number to my order. Apparently it's not on the receipt. During this entire process I had already gotten on the phone knowing I would have an issue. I was on hold for 30 minutes and no indication when your company would even answer the phone. He said he could not approve the refund without getting y'all on the phone but you weren't answering. Additionally, since I had been in your store or teaceling fk your store for over an hour, I needed to leave. When I asked if I could give him the info over the phone, he said he wouldn't do it over the phone. When I said I had already been there for 45 minutes he said â€œnot my fault. Not my problemâ€. Is this really how you guys work? I'm an established U-Haul customer with consistent use of one of your products for close to 10 years now. At this point, I will go out of my way and pay more money to use another company but yours. What an unreal experience you guys have put me through.Austin A.

Overall my experience with UHaul was terrible. My pickup location was changed 3 times the morning of my move, and each time I had to reach out to the pickup entity myself (at times 30 and 40 miles away) only to find out they did not have a truck for me. It wasn't until I went to the location myself to speak with someone in person (the woman I spoke with on the phone was not helpful, nor any bit apologetic) that I was able to get what I needed. Traci was an angel and made sure I got a truck so I could move that day. She was incredibly kind and helpful and I'm so grateful to her. If it wasn't for her, I would not have been able to move that day. I will not be using Uhaul ever again, nor will I recommend it.
