I did online expedited check in after calling the Schwananoah location Arrive to pick up without having received notification by email Took 30 min it’s to get the truck I was told it would be cheaper to drop off in Ga. from AVl rather than come back “ in town “ but wanted the flexibility. Truck drive sloppy amd scary in the rain and mountains so my son drove. Called the Uhaul in Clarkesville Ga on Hwy 115 Bring it back. That’s fine. Hour and a half later I’m told double penalty by “ Jessica “ and I have to drive the truck back to AvL 120 miles over the mtns and in the rain to return. More gas in and slightly increased mileage so of course UHaul charged me more. Drop truck off in AVL. I hail app wouldn’t take the pic of the gas gauge. Honestly an aweful experience. !

Everything went well, until it was time to deliver the truck. When it was picked up in Asheville, we made it clear that we would not be able to drop it off at the location close to where we were driving to in Atlanta because we had to drive it home to Gainesville. When I called to find the closest place to drop it off in Gainesville, that’s where it all fell apart. No one could help me. I was put on hold 7 times. Your guys in the scheduling Dept made it seem they were trying to help me but would put me on hold only to have me go back to the menu options. Not only that, they were rude and didn’t seem to care that I was getting aggravated. Finally, someone in customer service gave me the location to drop off the truck but never sent me the text they said they would with the info. Luckily, my husband knew I was having problems and called the SWANNANOA location and got the info. I called the 800 number that was given to me by Uhaul in my email from them. This needs work. Passed around 7 times, put on hold, rude scheduling Dept were not things that made this an easy process. Scheduling the truck to be picked up was much easier.

First truck they brought out was not clean - still had traces of oil and grease tracked all over the bed. I refused this truck. The second truck they brought out was fine. Should have been right the first time. Whoever mopped the first one knew it wasn't clean. The renting agent knew it wasn't right. Took a long wait to get the vehicle - over 1 hour. The new policy of needing 2 phone references without prior arrangement or notice SUCKS! VERY Annoying. Especially when you have good credit.

When dropping off in the morning would help the people who are actually there first, not make them wait a very long time for the overnight drop offs to be processed first. I waited an hour, then just left. Other than that, A plus at this location.

People move in slow motion. This operation puts zero value on customers' time. Lady receiving equipment checked every tire with a baton, checked air pressure in trailer tires. Checked gas level three times (had to start the truck each time) and charged me $6 for being just off the mark on gas. Took her 20 minutes to receive truck and trailer which were fully insured. Will seek different store next time.

Because I was renting with an out of state license they required that I provide a secondary contact. This contact could not be with me and had to answer the phone prior to my picking up the rental trailer. First, I have a long rental history with Uhaul. Second, I had to call 10 people prior to anyone picking up on a Sunday morning, so advance notice of this requirement should be clear. Third, what kind of protection does this provide? If I wanted to steal the trailer I could have my partner in crime just buy a pay as you go phone/“burner “ phone. Finally, for the second time I got the oldest, most worn out trailer I have ever seen. It was super tattered and dirty. Hope I can find an alternate rental company with higher quality product and better customer experience next time.

Apparently there is a new policy where you have to call someone not on the premises due to recent theft of uhaul vehicles. It is still unclear how calling someone of my choosing prevents theft considering you get a driver's license but... maybe this wasn't thought out fully. Cliff notes version: no one answers phones from unknown callers! Like one of my good friends, or my mother in law (both people who were offered up for phone call jeopardy). So we eventually got ahold of my friend (she was on hold with uhaul who she diligently called back after screening her call) and at first it was unacceptable that we were talking on my phone then the sales associate seemed to come to grips with the Insanity of the situation - and the fact I am a customer willingly paying money to be harassed at this point - and that she saw my friends name on caller idea officially proving... You guessed it - that I won't steal your vehicle! Conclusion: will go with another company unless perhaps I randomly hear on the news this BS policy has been changed ??

I was behind 5 trucks waiting to be dropped off. There was ONE person checking the trucks in. He would check in a truck THEN COMPLETELY CLEAN IT before getting the next person in line. I was there for AN HOUR waiting to drop off my truck. This system lead to many angry customers, including myself. I would never use this location again!

The Swannanoa location deserves 5 out of 5. They were terrific. What was not good was that when I called ahead of time, U-Haul "confirmed" that they would load my packing supplies onto the truck (which they don't ever do), and then incorrectly marked my packing supplies as having been delivered! The people at Swannanoa figured out the problem, fixed it, and I was on my way. But that could have been really bad. P.S. Thank you for take-a-box-leave-a-box.

COMMUNICATE! I was overbilled by $288. The problem was being dealt with by the manager. Five phone calls and two weeks later, I have yet to have my call returned by her. Finally I reported the claim to the UHaul corporate website, and within hours Steve, from Uhaul Corporate called and worked with me and we solved the matter within minutes. I do not have a problem with the UHaul company, but you couldn't drag me into the East Asheville store.

I rented a pick up truck and the bed had mud and ice in it. Realizing the weather has ben cold, hence the ice, but there was mud from the previous user. other than that, the experience was a good one. the staff was very accommodating and the time it took to walk through the door and driving away was relatively quick.
