Poor rating because reserved unit was not actually available and had to go to a different location for a unit! Unit suggested was not large enough!! VERY DISTRESSING!! Had to rent an additional unit - an expensive headache! Actually, an outrage! Why was I given a reservation when unit not actually available? I tell everyone I know about this hellish experience. What a way to do business. I feel cheated, and was also robbed of my time after a long drive from another state; and, I had to pay my movers and my driver a lot more money because of their additional time. This should never happen to anyone; but from what I have subsequently heard, it happens all the time at UHaul. Additionally, your estimates of truck sizes and unit sizes is hugely underestimated, thus, people don’t rent large enough trucks and storage units. I didn't appreciate the additional charge for a whole day when the equipment was returned 45 minutes overdue. A return time which was an hour earlier than the pickup time. Seems like an easy way to trick people into overage charges. Not cool Uhaul.Michael M.

I have never witnessed such extensive mismanagement; this location is terrible. The manager in place at the time I rented the storage unit was a drug user and I discovered this was known to UHaul. She charged fees that weren’t applicable, she refused to respond, etc. I reported a problem with my account on numerous occasions, was due a refund equal to over three months of rent (at least) and NEVER received it despite being I promised it on several occasions. I made it clear I would pay only after the appropriate refund had been credited to my account. It never was. They closed my account when I was ill and in the hospital and informed me the contents would be sold. I will *never* patronize UHaul again nor will I ever recommend them. I rented the truck to pick up a new fridge in town. I drove the truck 12 miles and replenished 2+gallons of gas or $10 worth (average MPG of 10' truck is around 12). I had it 3 hours. I returned it and when I got my final receipt I got charged for 2 gallons of gas for $9.JON A.

This comment is for the originating location - 9034 State Rt 14. Streetsboro, Ohio 44241. I arrived at the Streetsboro location on time and ready for a good moving day. At the desk, I was informed that they had no truck for me and I would need to travel to another location 30 minutes away, in the opposite direction of where I needed to go for the day. No text, no email, no phone call in advance to alert me and potentially discuss a more convenient location. Unacceptable! was am informed that I will receive a $50 credit and I still am waiting for that. That's hardly adequate compensation for the additional time required, loss of help due to time constraints and the extra 50 miles (25 for the rental truck and 25 for my own vehicle). The service was garbage my pickup time was for 5pm i didn't get my uhaul until about 30 to 40 minutes later the employees argued over who would help me basically neither employee seemed like they wanted to help me. I paid for a dolly and left without a dolly being given to me i had to go back to pick that up my card was charged twice and i only had the vehicle for a couple hours i didn't ask for insurance when i booked the rental online but somehow had to pay for insurance if i use uhaul again i definitely would not be going to that same location I'll never return there againJalea W.

I get what I pay for a I guess but I boxed up my tv I bought last year to safely get it to its destination and it still had a crack on it upon arrival at my house. Luckily I had insurance that doesn't cover anything.Garrett C.

The cashier seemed very scatterbrained. I get, it was her second day on the job but calling me baby and then turning to another cashier and calling him baby was really confusing. Work on focusing on the customer not flirting with coworkers. The truck didn't have a working radio. William Malog came to my rescue after a former manager screwed up the incoming money by not cashing the checks for 8 months. You can imagine all the ill feelings along with the headaches ,threats ,liens late charges from corprate. Wiliiam Malog is a people person and talks with you to work out a problem or issue. Have two employees on duty. There was only one employee and she did the best she could but once it got busy and then some reservation issues, she got backed up. Stood in line a half hour just to pick up rental. Not her fault but when you have others waiting to help you move and this much time is spent in line it starts to throw things off for moving day. I had to go through multiple units before I could get one to take and was finally told to take because this is all they had. The mileage was not even correct. I should've spoken up when I picked up the vehicle. When I picked it up, the gas meter read 5/8 even though I was told it was 3/4. I returned the uhaul with enough replacement gas to put it back where I got it: 5/8. Then I got charged an extra $50 to get it "back" to 3/4. Ridiculous.ALEC M.

The ramp would not work on the truck we had and we had a house move so it was truly an inconvenience to us. The roadside assistance never came while we were there at all and then when I called him he hung up on me! Very very unprofessional in my opinion. I purchased a 9x20 vehicle storage unit but when I arrived they said that they don’t have any and all that they had was open parking storage in their parking garage. They said that it happens all the time, people order a vehicle storage only to find out none are available. Also, they charged me the same price for a single parking spot in their open parking lot as the 9x20 storage unit. It should have been less expensive as it was smaller and not enclosed. I was charged for a unit I never had access to. After reservo the unit, I was informed that the unit was only accessible during their office hours. However, the other units are available until 10pm. I decided to cancel the transaction. I was informed it was canceled and I would not be charged. I was charged. I have called SEVERAL times to get this resolved. The employees are extremely helpful as much as they can be. However, the manager is completely negligent when it comes to communication. Several employees have left my information behind and informed me she would reach back out to me. One of the employees even messaged her while I was there, then messaged her the day after again because she did not reach out to me. She still has yet to return a call and it’s been almost one month. My unit was on the second floor, elevator was broke and down for 2 weeks. I had called several times to talk to someone, NO ONE called me back. Went into the Uhaul place 3x to try to get a date when it would be working, the people there had no idea. I had to pay movers 2x a deposit for moving revised had to cancel then had to pay extra rent at previous address because elevator was still not working when I had movers set up. I have come back to the Tallmadge Ave location to rent space from because of sub par care at other UHaul sites closer to my home. The team on Tallmadge Ave., have been excellent and I do recommend them to anyone who is in the area & asks. Suggestion.
