The only improvement and reason I won't use UHaul again until I am able to get a vaccination against COVID-19 is that one female associate behind plexiglas was not masked. I thought Summit County had a mask order. If it had been my turn to go to her, I would have told her politely that I am in a risk category and would prefer to be helped by a masked associate. Other than that very bad mark against the experience, it was great.

Called 3 days prior to drop off to change my location. The cust serv rep told me : There will be np for you to drop off the truck here Me: Don't you have to edit anything? I'm dropping off the truck after business hours. CSR: Nope. Don't worry. We got you! Me: Thanks a lot When I dropped off the truck. Had to call support - waiting time 40. Minutes- because someone had to edit the drop off location. Btw get a bigger carp there's no way to cover yourself from the rain when dropping after business hours

First of all the two women working were more concerned with themselves than with me and the girl that checked me in was very snippy. The truck was i was given had steering issues. At first I thought it was because he truck was empty, but the steering continued to be very loose and all over the road. A tire blew on the truck thankful right as I pulled up to unload. When I went back to get another truck after the tire was changed, the girl at the counter wasn't wearing a mask at all, so I took mine off. Then I am told I will be charged full price for the delay and the stress of my day moving.

The truck I had showed a wrench on the dashboard display a couple miles after I left the lot. I tried to call back to the store but was unable to reach the location so I just turned back around. Thankfully I was able to get another truck quickly but being able to talk to a person before I drove back to the store would have been great.

I had to come from Fountain St up to Tallmadge Ave to get a truck because Fountain St didn't have the truck that I reserved. That, first off, was unacceptable. The truck I reserved should been have been available. There was no one inside the building when I went in at Tallmadge Ave. and I waited almost 30 minutes to finally get help. Then the employee that finally helped me, was snippy with me because Fountain St didn't transfer my reservation to Tallmadge Ave, which is no way my fault. THEN, I got charged $8 for gas when the gas tank was on a half of tank when I got it and it was slightly over a half tank when I brought it back but the paper said it had 1/16 of a tank. The mileage was slightly over on the paper than what was actually on the truck. I tried to upload the mileage and fuel levels and it wouldn't let me do it. The employees need to do a better job of making sure of the mileage and fuel before they put it on the paper, ie, literally check it before it's put on the paper, go outside and check it before they hand over the key. Then I couldn't close out my unit because my name wasn't on it, but I'm the one who paid it for 5 years. I was very, very disappointed in Uhaul over this situation. I doubt that I will personally use Uhaul ever again.

I rented a 15' box truck. I was issued a vehicle with significant mechanical issues. The transmission was dangerously compromised. Gear selection lever was grossly out of alignment such that I was unable to move out of low gear without multiple attempts starting, stopping, and reversing. This issue was not always obvious until I reached highway speeds, at which time the engine was turning at nearly 5000 rpm. Additionally, the heat shielding around the transmission had been unlocked. At highway speeds, heat from the overworked transmission popped the heat seal and scalded my ankle. I brought the issues up to the sales representative, who informed me that they had been reported previously, yet the truck was kept in service without any resolution to these issues. I was offered a $10 rebate for my troubles and sent on my way. In total, this was a disappointing experience made worse by the complete apathy demonstrated by the U-Haul sales representative.

The whole experience was trash! Got sent to some storage unit in the hood lady there was super rude and did not have my car dolly I rented. Had to drive 30 mins away to pick up a dolly. This whole thing was rediculas. I will go buy a car dolly before i ever rent from uhual agean.

My wife complained the truck was dirty. It was but that was not an issue for me. The issue for me was that my rates were changed and I was over charged for my rental. I fell like I was baited and switched. Waiting to hear back from the manager

I had a storage unit from 2013 until 8/2020 and they over charged me repeatedly, never notified me my lock was on wrong which the door just opened up to my unit and I had some of the WORST customer service phone calls about my due date at which they continue to over charge me monthly. Just an overall bad experience with this location!

Whoever is calculating the milage needs to go back to school. I was charged for extra miles that weren't correct. The online page that I was directed to wasn't working correctly. I also filled the truck up which was more than it was when I rented it. There was a rubber door strip that fell off as soon as I got out. Only having one person take care of everything is ridiculous!

I rented the trailer using the phone service. The agent was told I needed a motorcycle trailer to travel roads in a neighboring state for vacation. I was told the price was 14.95 per day for a motorcycle trailer to handle the job. Well, your trailer is for only in town use--way too small for traveling. So, I had to pay $10 per day more for a trailer to be able to travel with. When I got to uhaul and they looked at my docs that were already entered as a contract based on my needs--they said they would have to charge me for the upgrade. Not fair--they were told exactly what was needed--a trailer to be hauled by an Rv throughout Michigan--we live in Akron, Ohio. So--guess who gets to pay for uhaul's mistake--yup, the customer. Another bait and switch because of poor customer service. Took the service person another 20 minutes to change the contract. Yes, Uhaul owes me $80 for their mistake--not mine. Also, they have a uhaul advertisement sign so close to Tallmadge Road that it blocks customer's views pulling out. It was there on Aug. 5th and still there Aug. 13th. Just a matter of time before Uhaul earns a law suit.

I have rented at this location for the last 3 years. In December 2019 Costumer service at this lococation and lack of consideration for long term costomer service became a serious problem. I happy to say with a new Mananger Christine and Danielle, Customer service is again excellent and they were able to straighten out my account. The reason of the poor rating is a total reflection of past management, and the failure to correct my account.

I will not come back to this location. the one young lady was ok but the other one named Dannielle was rude. I found out my neighbor also rented from this location a few days before I did and they told me they were rude to them as well.

When we got to our destination in Florida and the U-Box was delivered, I noticed right away the outside orange covering had been replaced since we loaded it in Ohio. It's nice to see you have an ongoing maintenance program to keep the equipment functionally sound and looking good.

This location had the ONLY helpful person with our rental. We rented weeks in advance (with a different location as pickup). UHaul confirmed the two nights before. Then, at the last minute - 12 hours before pickup and with no other options available - UHaul changed not only the location but the pickup time, with the new time unacceptable because we had movers scheduled. UHaul (corporate) was unapologetic and did not care. Personnel at this location - 5 minutes before closing time - was able to contact other customers and juggle things for us to make it work. The 5 stars are for THIS locations and the helpful clerk (unfortunately don't have her name) and I would have given 10 stars if I could. For UHAUL itself, unfortunately, they don't have a survey for THEIR performance. I would have given it a NEGATIVE 5 for their incompetence and horrible service that could have been disastrous for us. Thanks to "U-Haul Moving & Storage of East Akron" for saving the day.

I have rented 2 plus storage units on Talmadge Ave. since August 8, 2017. I was quite satisfied with both the management and the facilty until June of 2019. The Facility did remain both clean and secure. The availably of carts and lack of customer service was zero. The Mangement is the problem. U haul Mangement seems to think Customer Service, stops as soon at a move in and a storage area is rented on an auto deduct. Danielle did an excellent job handling my move out of two storage units. She handled my account, rental equipment and provided excellent customer service. Her only limit was Management. An employee should never be put in that position.. I will be reviewing the total my cost doing business with U haul and whether I will continue to have a working business relationship with U haul in the future. I have Unit 1170 until 6/10/ 2020. This UHAUL Facility and Management has had ample time and to provide both fair compensation and costumer service and resolve any disputes on Units 1290 and Unit 1194 and chose not too. That was quite plain from 3/07/ 2020 until 5/10/2020.
