LORI CI rented moving crates and asked if they were cleaned and assured they were. This was not the case at all - they were filthy and unusable. I spent time cleaning them myself, but were still not suitable for most household items. I brought this to the attention of the staff when returning and requested a credit, this was ignored and no refund issued. Terrible customer service and worse condition of items.
David AOnly issue I had was my pick up location was changed twice. The second time was about fifteen minutes before picking it up. Other than that, everything went smoothly and I was able to get a credit from my pickup location was changed twice.
JOEL LThe van I rented was filthy in the cab, and smelled horrible. The rental agent acknowledged how badly it smelled and sprayed something inside the cab to make it “smell better”, but it just made it worse. I had to drive the entire day with the windows open. I’ve had good experiences with U-Haul vehicles in the past, but this was not one of them, and I wouldn’t recommend this location to a friend.

ATIF II initially picked a close U-Haul location to my house for a 26ft truck however I was called to go to further location which the one I am reviewing now on 1100 Los Rios. I arrived 30 min earlier than my scheduled time so that I am out of there by one as my hired helpers were schedule at 2. The truck did not arrive on time and even though the counter person know that that would be the case as it became apparent while arguing with guy about some rat infestation. Then at 1:20 they offered another location which was 20 min away. My ride already left and That would have cut into my movers schedule. I took the 20ft truck and that cost me extra time with the helpers since we had to make extra trip as they struggled to fit my things. Also to add as they were discussing the rate issue, curse words were used against the customer who had the truck I was suppose to have. As I walked around the truck no one stayed with me to help use the app which had multiple issues. They were friendly staff but very unprofessional. As I waited I was offered a seat on the stairs as I was asked to leave the counter area with the only chair even though there no customers. Please educate you staff on being professional. It cost me an extra 200 between helpers, gas and Milage.

After 1/2 hours they called and said about some major damage on rented trailer which is not there when I left as I am sure as while deattaching I am helping the uhaul person so I know and nothing they reported till I left or even I charged with rent.. After that might be while taking by staff to there parking something happened or they just want money from me so after 1/2 hours they charged me money for some major damage .. I usually used uhaul very much earlier but now I will avoid and never use this in future and ask my friends also to not go to this Plano office as they are scammers as if there is major damage then why they don’t said to me when I left and they found damage after so many hours even after I got my first receipt and it is trailer not any automobile that you found something after inspection if there is dent damage as per them then it should be visible when I left
Simarjeet CThe guy is spoke to when picking up the trailer was very rude. Also I paid for them to put my car on the car trailer. Both straps hooked up to the car came off the wheel by the time I got to my first fuel up location.

Ural TI didn’t have an issue with this location. But this location was not my chosen drop off location but got turned away from prior location because the guy did not want any 15’ trucks at his location.

MOHAMMED UFirst of all your listing for length is incorrect a 15ft truck is only 13ft. Stop telling lies. The trucks are setup to have Tow Haul engaged and you have to shut it off to save gas. The truck I rented has a loose front end and it needs to be serviced. The truck is difficult to keep in the lane.
MICHAEL DThe steering on the truck was sloppy and therefore unsafe. The windshield wipers were dried out, hard, did not clean the windshield and therefore were unsafe.
MARC LThere was confusion about what truck I was assigned since the UHaul employee did not show/did not bring me to the truck. That got resolved through a phone call and coming back to the store. The cab of the truck was dirty and smelled of smoke. It took a thorough cleaning and “airing out” before we departed on our trip.

KYLE CI was given the option to drop off here to save money. I stayed within my milage, had gas level OVER minium required level and the guy still tried to tell me my gas was too low and i was going to be charged an extra fee. He called a lady over she checked and she said the amount was clearly good. Same guy tells me I'm over on my milage and I know I wasn't. He tells me he's going to upcharge me $95. If I don't pay it I can't get with uhaul again. That's not fair to me or my family and to top it off due to being told I could save coming that way. I was charged more AND me & my kids ended up stranded in that area because of this ordeal. Horrible experience PREDATORY BUISNESS Horrible site Horrible employee. DO NOT RECOMMEND ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE TRYING TO SAVE MONEY. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A SINGLE PARENT
Tabitha Twasnt able to rent p/u due to I only brought a debit card. I have rented this way many times from this location. Nobody or nothing stated was told to me. I had to rent a much larger vehicle than I needed at a higher rate and miles. I also reserved a dolly, one was not available so had to get a more expensive appliance dolly that wasnt made for what I needed to do.

When I called the office to inquire about the text, I was told the text was sent out by mistake. Weeks later I went to my storage to get items and my key didn't work. When i went to the office I was told there were new keys for the lock. I was confused. I went to the storage and discovered my new mattresses were missing and the old lock amd metal sliding plate were inside on the floor. I reported it to the Manager, Anita and asked her to check the tapes. She said she would check the tapes. Anita never called me back with any information, although I called her at least 6 times and left messages. It's been 1 1/2 years and I'm still waiting for her to call me back. I was very disappointed on the service. I moved my items to public storage!

She came to the unit and was yelling in a terrible & vulgar way. Then her boyfriend showed up and blocked my suv with his big truck! 3. sylvia g | Overall ExperienceWhen I moved in June 2022, staff was not very friendly. Staff was aware that I'd driven ten hours to arrive at this location. The first card that I was provided was for an indoor heated and cooled unit. However, card did not work to open the doors. Staff was slow assisting with this issues in 106 degree heat, JUNE IN PLANO TEXAS. I was told hours later that the unit that was available was an outdoor unmonitored unit. Ok, fine. Drive to this unit and there's a dead rodent at the door. This staff member saw this before we did, apologized and assigned a new unit infestation free. Upon moving out, It was difficult. I went to the desk to notify staff that I was moving out only to be told to take a picture of the empty cleaned out unit and come back to the desk to display the picture that the unit was cleaned out. I am happy to "move out" of this storage unit. Staff was not pleasant, not friendly and a manager never apologized for the issues experienced during these encounters.

You'd think that U-haul would have some sort of "customer loyalty" rate (instead of rate increases), but no, my rates went up twice - without notice. 2) My locks were challenged TWICE, without notice. In the first case, I was out of town living in Seattle, and couldn't do anything immediate about my lock, though I was pressed to. In the second case, I arrived at the facility and found a lock had been added. When I went into the office, I was told by the inept personnel "We've been trying to get ahold of you...." BULL. Nobody told me anything and then I am patronized by them reading off some ridiculous script, taking no accountability. I would not recommend this location to anyone; the crew is irresponsible. Anita was NEVER any help, never offering any communication or resolve on these issues, even though I'd contacted her. Given that U-haul is meticulous about most everything (good grief, I got two phone calls about 12 pads that I was using, with customer service checking in on me), the Los Rios location is NOT representative of U-haul ethic. For the money I spent, you'd think that the service would be equal. I was more than happy to end this relationship and finally walk away.

I'd rather not go into the lengthy Uhaul debacle, but I can tell you that Anita, Ron and Hailey along with Anita's assistant manager(can't remember her name) truly stop everything to ensure I was taken care of. Ron affirmed Anita is by far the best GM he has ever worked for, and I totally believe him. There are still a few upcoming events to tackle and am going those go smooth with Anita and her team. For now, I am grateful that Anita and her team and I have crossed paths.

That has never happened to me before in all my years of using storage facilities. When I rent the trucks they seem to be not properly maintained by the fact that I live exactly 1 mile from the facility but when I brought the truck back they told me I used more miles than 2 and that's absurd. It costs too much money storing my things there with the poor service being given and I will not use this location or maybe any location again. I grew up with my family using uhaul and to be an adult now and this is the trouble I have is sad. Then when I closed my storage they kept calling me acting like I didn't tell anyone I closed my storage and it looks like I got charged but I'm not paying anything. This company needs to clean out the trash and improve customer service. One of the mangers was up there in booty shorts. Very inappropriate for the work place. I'm done with this place.

Upon reservation, the traffic Scheduler informed me the 1st month of the rv storage unit will be free. The day of check in, I had to pay and when I spoke to Anita, she informed she will need to pull the transcript of the conversation in order to prove that I'm not lying. Very distasteful. Also our rv unit was occupied, so uhaul Plano had to direct us to a different unit #.

We had heard judged some ugly stories about experiences of family, fr. iends and acquaintances, but we had no other choice. This was to be short term, three to six months and it was a distance from athe apartment we had rented, My wife is on Essex with cleanliness and organization and she was pleased of how clean th facility was maintained. Due to extenuating circumstances we used the facility for nineteen months. In all that time we never experienced any problems with the facility or employees. It was always spotless, never was our unit tampered with, our automatic withdrawals were never a problem. We moved into our new home three days ago and the boxes we had stored were clean, no dust at all and everything we moved into the unit came out of the unit. We hope to be in our new home forever and we won’t need to put our things in storage, but if we did we would use U-haul storage with o hesitateion and we would recommend this facility.

They told me yes. When I went in person I was told I could not get the first month free because I was a prior renter. This caused me to get upset because I was not made aware of this prior to going in person. I rented a truck and a storage, why is there not a discount for bundling. While your facility is more convenient for me, I moved my RV to a storage lot that is fully paved and provides 24 hour power even though it cost more.

I was charged thousands more than was disclosed to me and uhaul didn’t own up to their mistakes and their employees telling me different things. Also, uhaul has some pretty unscrupulous movers that work with them through moving help. We’re we’re mistreated and had stuff stolen. So yes the storage facility I used was clean and well lit but the customer service and overall experience was awful. I not only do not recommend uhaul but I share the experience I had with others sot why are aware they could potentially be overcharged by thousands and uhaul will lie and not take responsibility.
Erica L | Overall ExperienceA woman by the name R Jarrod was not friendly to say the least. Her tone of speaking was rude. Her explanation of rules were very demanding. The whole process was bad. At the end she just handed me the papers and the card and left me to find my way to the storage space and try the card. When I went to the machine the card did not work with the machine and after finding my storage and rolling up the gate, I found the inside of the storage dirty and a rolling metal gate inside. I had to come back and when I came back there was no one to speak to I waited around, went outside to the repair shop to see if anyone was there. After about 10 to 15 minutes a person with blue sweatshirt no name badge came in. I told him about the storage being dirty and he texted on his phone and told me that it will be clean. When I went back there were three people by the storage and no one said anything like they were sorry or anything. This is not good.

Incredibly helpful staff, seamless quick easy process, and I even misjudged how much furniture I had and ended up needing a larger unit. Without a blink of an eye, the staff transitioned us to a larger unit. They were able to make everything happen and it was such a stress free process during such a stressful time. 10/10 recommend!!!

Was later told to drive back to the office area to establish a 6 digit code. Done. Drove back to the climate controlled unit, swiped the card at both electronic devices- ACCESS DENIED. Rep comes down and opens the door with her card. Unload Uhaul truck and venture to find my climate controlled unit. My unit was in fact NOT climate controlled nor in that building but behind the building. Load the Uhaul back up and drive to the correct t outdoor uncontrollable climate storage room to find a dead rodent at the entry door. Sit there, in PLANO HEAT, for another 20 minutes until I'm assigned another unit. I was not offered any apologies from management. I hope to store my things here TEMPORARILY. I would not recommend this establishment at all.

I was 100% sure I had not put a lock in the unit. They figured out that they had actually rented me someone else’s unit. Still no refund of any sort. No apologies. Just a move out receipt. Not a great experience. Won’t use this location again.

The online process said there would be a lock already in the unit which was important to me because I was moving in at 5am and the office wasn’t open for me to buy a lock. The lock was not inside the unit so I had to leave my unit and all possessions unlocked. I did however have an issue with the gentleman who was hanging out in the halls of the facility at 5am. I felt unsafe. Unfortunately for me I had a flight to catch and had no choice but to move my stuff in so I could catch my flight and return to work. From the airport I called the facility and was told they are aware of the gentleman I mentioned and although "he is weird he is harmless”. That is their words, not mine. If I had more time I probably would not have stayed with this facility.

The tight hallways and having to use the elevator made it difficult to move all our items in, thus we had to seek storage elsewhere. Accessibility was reviewed and discussed before renting this space, and up sizing was an option with prorated credit for unused time to add a unit. I did not ask about early termination and the possible prorated refund. Having used the unit for less than two weeks I would have thought a prorated credit would have been given. Plus a possible penalty fee. The 10x15 unit cost $216.13, which included a $15 word lock. Rough estimate I still had a value of $106 of unused rent. If not all of the $106, at least a good portion of it should have been refunded. The unit was left clean and usable as the first day I moved in. I would have appreciated being told upfront that there was no refund for early termination having expressed my concerns of accessibility upfront. Bruce A

My options were explained and a tour of the unit was given to be sure that it would work for my needs. I purchased a WORD lock so not to have to keep up with another key, and a 24hr access to meet my schedule needs. I locked out my unit and left. We started our move in at 8:30 pm which is after hours and for whatever reason I couldn't get my lock to open. I called the after hours phone number and Anita and crew were there to assist in less than 30 minutes. I was highly thankful and impressed with this quality of service. I will recommend this facility to anyone I come in contact with in need of storage space.

Extremely limited access to electricity (two hours per day) is a significant problem for maintaining RV batteries using trickle chargers. The gravel drive and heavy commercial traffic keeps my RV covered in thick white powder. First class RV dump site, but why no water hose to clean up? Annoying to say the least. The recent effort to clean up stored junk is an appreciated improvement- but it's still pretty junky.

Antes no había tenido este tipo de experiencia, deben estar al pendiente de lo que busca su cliente, revisar la transacción antes de finalizar el proceso y de esta forma evitar errores con los clientes. Deberían mejorar el servicio en la calle, ya que a la hora de rentar truck añadimos un seguro $$ para servicio en la calle etc… un servicio que brilló por su ausencia. Esta información se la hice saber al personal en la oficina, espero esto ayude a mejorar la calidad de servicio.

Only to find out that this location did not have 10 x 20 and we would be receiving two 10 x 10 next to each other. When we show up to move in the next day they give us (4) 5 x 10 . This ended up being such an inconvenience as the units were so tight it made it very difficult to stack our items. We ended up having to buy another unit due to this. If I would have been informed prior to what we were actually getting the day before when we checked in I would have choose a closer unit to the house. I choose this location as it had what it advertised we needed. Very unhappy with this location about happened and I feel the staff basically lied to us about what we were getting and knew we would be getting the 5 x 10 the day we were moving in.

LISA W | First ImpressionsWe set up our rental for auto pay each month. The first month we got a late notice on the day it was due along with a late charge. Simultaneously, they also reached out to the emergency contact person we were required to provide upon leasing the unit. When we called and asked what happened to the auto pay we set up, the agent checked on it. We got a half-hearted “oops…I guess the paperwork was never put into the system.” All that…including bothering our contact…because of THEIR mistake. Each time we have needed to get questions answered, it’s like seeing a deer in the headlights…confusion and lack of knowledge. After all of that, when we couldn’t get a reputable moving company to help before the end of one month of rental but got everything out the first day of a new rental month, U-Haul wouldn’t give us any kind of a pro-rated rental. They demanded a full month’s rent for a few hours. We were out by noon. While moving out, we could hear another hugely dissatisfied customer arguing about how he had carried out his end of the agreement but U-Haul hadn’t kept up their end. 🤷🏼♀️ We won’t be using the U-Haul at 1100 Los Rios in Plano TX ever again.

Instead of being helpful, the employees that we spoke with told us, "There's nothing we can do. You need to take it up with whoever made the website." I asked if they had any units available, something that they should have offered me, and they told me that I could probably make due with one unit that was slightly smaller. I went to the unit and realized that there was no way that my things would fit. I went back to the office and they gave me two small units that were about the size of the unit that I originally wanted. When I drove back over to check them out, one of them was locked. I drove back to the office and was told that they needed to contact the person who was currently occupying the unit. I told them to call me when they figured it out. I waited for 3 hours and called them as they were closing within the hour. They told me to come back and they would give me two other units. If you are considering this location, I advise you to store your items elsewhere to save yourself the headache.

They make pest control a priority. The building is always clean and well maintained, and carts were always available when needed, at no charge. The ONLY a negative is that sometimes the loading/unloading area is not unavailable. The cars parked there are unattended (sometimes with sunshades are up in the windshield), so clearly NOT loading/unloading). It just needs to be monitored and enforced a little better so patrons have better access and KNOW to park in spaces on the lot if they are going to be inside the facility for an extended time.

My space kept having other people park in it and was changed three times in one day. Too many headaches for just a parking space.
William K | Overall ExperienceTo be honest I had an awful experience with the manager at this location on 8/6/21 as she tried to CHARGE me for a Day of rental service that I did NOT USE because I was returning the truck within the allotted time frame! Actually 20 minutes earlier as well as VOID the INSURANCE policy that I purchased. She stated that the insurance DOES NOT COVER the BODY of the truck nor the tires or overhead and I was wondering what did it cover she failed to tell me that but she presented almost $400 worth of charges to me and I had to dispel everyone of them because I purchased the insurance that she did not understand. I scraped the skirt on the truck which would have been the eighth noted damaged spot on the truck that was rent d to me because the rest of had claims stickers due to being covered by the insurance policy…. But in my instance the policy was going to be VOID if I did not pursue the manager for CORRECTING her mistake. She tried to humiliate me in front of her staff and customers…. However she only highlighted the fact that she was ignorant to her role and the description of her duties as well as the products that U-Haul sells
Lauren A | First ImpressionsWe moved from Michigan to Texas. We made a reservation for a storage 10x15x9 and when we have arrived, the storage WAS NOT available. They truck was due on 8/2/21. We were moving a 3bedroom home. They offered 4 storage units of 10x5. These DID not work. The storages were too small for our belongings to fit. This pushed the moved in back a day. They also explained that there was nothing else they could do. We were able to locate a storage the following day in Plano on N central parkway. When we arrived he told us that the storage we selected could not be used for the “one month free” and that we had to pay for it. So, with the truck being due on 8/2/21 at 9am, we were not able to have it back in time. It was all such an inconvenience. This is the SECOND unpleasant experience I have had with U-HAUL. We’ve used you guys twice to move across country and it’s been a problem EVERY time. I tried reaching out to customer service several times and the GM from where we picked up our rental, but I was not able to get the problem solved. We had to pay for the storage that was promised to us FREE $170. This was in fact NOT in the budget. We also had to pay for gas as well due to having the U-Haul longer and having to drive. It’s been a horrible experience each time. I would not recommend!

Even on auto-pay I have been sent late notices and late fees applied. I got such a case even after closing my account both online and in the office. This notice even says my closing date was 7/11, but it was closed 7/5 and verified closed on that date in the office! That tells me in took your system 6-days to close the account which then put me past due on 7/8. Other than that, my climate controlled space was kept clean. Another irritating item is the horribly loud alarm going off almost every time I was in my space working, even though I checked in and out properly.

Roger S | Online Move InI'd say above average for the price and proximity to my home, but far from excellent. The RV parking has issues: the gravel lot is soupy in some slots which will rot tires. Consider adding gravel to get it above the dampness and mud. The limited access to electricity, is disappointing and unusual. It's best for the RV to remain on a trickle charger - it takes very little power. There's quite a bit of trash/junk that appears to spill over into neighboring pads. No one seems to be enforcing any rules. I suspect the 1 free month offer attracts less desirable short term tenants. A couple of false starts - the initial site given to me had a car parked in it and the ground was wet and soft. Back to the office. Got a new site, but this one had the electrical box locked, so no power. Tried to call 3 times, but know one answered. Back to the office again. Another 15 minute wait. Staff was courteous and mostly knowledgeable, but they were understaffed to handle the Friday morning load. (I'd hate to see what Saturday looks like.)

Roger M | Overall ExperienceThe only compliant issue I have was during move-out, after checking-in & opening my units; when I close the door while I cart a load out to my truck and return, it sets off the alarm when I open the unit door again to get another load. Two of my 3 units were located immediately next to an alarm speaker which is so loud it caused a ringing in my ears especially after having to make numerous trips to unload my units. When I'm checked-in to the facility, my units' doors shouldn't trigger an alarm until after I check-out when no one should be opening the doors on my locked down units.
