nenad vOnly one person workign the desk to check people in, so it took an extremely long time to get the cargo van. Van itself was old and kind of worn down... no usb port to charge my phone, even though we are asked to keep our phones on and charged throughout the rental. Also not made for taller people... I am 6.3 and could barely sit in the drivers seat as it does not go back far enough ... when I asked if there was a different option the guy just laughed and walked away.
Michael STerrible experience with scheduling and vehicle swap I booked a 10 ft U-Haul truck 1–2 weeks in advance. At booking, I was told after-hours drop-off was fine and to follow the instructions to leave the key. When I came for pickup, they told me the opposite: no after-hours drop-off, and I had to come back next morning during business hours. This was the first major frustration. Second issue: I booked a 10 ft truck but they assigned me a 15 ft instead. I requested the 10 ft I originally booked. They reassigned me, but only wrote the new vehicle details manually on the paperwork instead of updating it in the system. That caused huge problems at drop-off. I tried to do after-hours return with photos and odometer reading as instructed, but the online system gave me an error. The odometer reading in the system was completely wrong — showing 16,000+ km instead of the ∼30 km I drove — because my actual truck wasn’t updated in their system. So I couldn't complete the return online. I parked it and came back at 7 AM like an employee, Sakshi Kohli, told me. But when I arrived, staff argued with me and said they don't open until 9 AM. Between the miscommunication, wrong vehicle, system errors, and staff arguing, this was a mess from start to finish. I wasted hours because of their mistakes. Do not trust their after-hours drop-off process if they can't even update vehicles properly.

Mihir PUsing the app to return the van after hours appeared to have some glitches. Maybe it was a user problem, but to continue after taking a picture of the gas level and odometer didn't seem to work smoothly and became frustrating.
David EBut warn people do not block our entrance , other vechicles need to pass. Remind people lock all doors , I saw back door of truck wide open and there was two people hanging around at 12 midnight claiming they were picking up a truck , pretty sketchy.

Steven Scustomer parking is not available - having to park blocks away in an Ikea parking lot. Staff was sub - I would not recommend to friends. Truck was american - speedometer in Miles, had no shocks - horrible over 50km /hr .
Siobhan CIt was a Monday morning in the store was busy with seven of us in line. At the counter was excellent but there was only one of her. And I think Uhaul would have to know that any hour between seven and 930 is got to be some of the business of the days. People are frustrated and there should be more than one person on to help in the busiest hours. The fellow at the back was excellent. He helped hooked up the trailer. When we came back, no one came to take the trailer up so we did it ourselves. I have used Uhaul many times and almost always have an excellent experience. I can live with the closing taking the trailer off, but waiting was an incredible irritation, knowing that this is just volume and you know how many bookings you have that day.

JAN BPlease insist on vehicle clearance height to your customers the one I rented couldn’t go in my building parking area. Make sure in the future you have vehicles under 2 meters height so that people can enter the parking area of any building in Canada

MENAN IWhen asked about returning vehicle Afterhours which was the only option staff said yes just drop off key in slot which I have done before but there was no mention of $20 charge for doing so, which would have been good to know. Chose above average because it’s easy to rent with or without credit card, vehicles typically available hours of operation …..point being have gone there various times and got the moving job done with little hassle. Will return

Jean PTruck was not cleaned on the inside or the outside. I cleaned the cab when I got the truck and found a cigarette but in the passenger door. One document was also missing. Truck drove very well.

CHRISTOPHER AThis place is a train wreck. Over 30 people in line on arrival with one person taking care of them while others stood and watched. After well over 30 minute wait..checked in...paid for 100 km...we will get back to that. Truck was wedged up another ..difficult to get in. Sun visor broken. Did the move...battery almost died twice when restarting vehicle. Topped up the gas to almost exaclty where it was. Have videos getting the truck and leaving truck.Only used 67.5 km. When i returned she said just give the key and you will be credited. Now 3 days later and nothing. Phoned twice - got left on perma hold (30 mins both times). I want my money...its approx $42.00 which i assume they have no intention of giving back. I will go there next. This place is a joke. The employees are a joke. They couldnt care less. Never ever again would i go near this location. They have a ton of bad google reviews and I will leave one as well. I just want my refund.

HABIB BI downloaded the app so I could do a quick check in when I arrived, but I had to upload the info again upon check in… drivers licence etc… I asked why and was told because one time was to book the van, the 2nd time was to pick up the van… made no sense. Nothing I saved in the app was applicable. Once I got in, the gentleman who helped me was efficient and nice… I have recovered 6 emails from U-Haul since (5 yesterday). Total overkill. There must be a better system !

DOUGLAS LI dropped off after-hours and all the instructions for the process were wrong. Multiple signs advised me I would need a mobile device in order to drop off. I had one. The first step it directed me to take was to scan the barcode somewhere in the vicinity. There was no barcode evident despite my searching the dark parking lot at 10pm for several minutes. Turns out if you can't find the barcode the app simply advises you to park the vehicle, lock it and drop the keys in the slot. What a waste of my time! I had no interactions with the staff here, my review is strictly about after-hours instructions which are misleading.
BYRON KI went to pickup my U-Haul truck at 4:30 as I had a reservation at that time. The truck was sandwhich in between other trucks and I was unable to get out. The agent ask me to inform her colleague to move the vehicles in order to get out. I waited 20 minutes for them to figure out and communicate who would do this in order for me to drive off now resulting in my move taking longer than I expected. Not a good experience.

Also, there is no parking on site and the sales associate recommended that I park in Ikea's parking lot. This, to me, is very unprofessional of an organization not having the appropriate facilities to support their customers.

BCSRenovations B | Overall ExperienceOverall, I would rate your storage facility a 2.5 out of 5. First, access to the storage is often blocked by your own vehicles. There were times when I needed to pick something up in the morning and had to carry items over my head just to avoid hitting your cars, simply because there was no space. Second, everything is rusty and damp. I also find your pricing hard to justify—similar units in climate-controlled facilities are actually cheaper. Finally, your U-Haul box return policy. Moving is always stressful, and something as small as a receipt can easily get lost. Making returns possible only with a receipt feels unreasonable. Are you really expecting people to fake your boxes just to get money back? It may seem like a small thing, but it leaves a bad impression. Next time, I will likely use Storage Market for packing supplies instead.

One employee even went out of their way to help me move my belongings from my vehicle, which I truly appreciated. I was also given one month of storage free of charge, which was a great bonus. Overall, the team at this location was very helpful, professional, and made the entire process easy and stress-free. That said, this experience was not reflective of all UHAUL locations. Prior, I also visited the 152 East Dr Brampton, ON L6T1C1, north of TORBRAM & STEELES location where I encountered a lack of professionalism and poor communication. Additionally, the storage unit there did not appear safe, as the overhead top was open. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend UHAUL storage facility at 1472 Queensway Etobicoke, ON M8Z1T5 specifically. If you’re considering a storage facility, this location is your best bet for reliable, customer-focused service.

I am constantly moving things around for my family and friends, and I always rent vans and trucks at this location. This time, I needed to store some items, so I decided to rent a small unit online while I was renting the truck. In-store, they offer a free month of rent, but that was not showing online. When I went to the store, I spoke with the receptionist and asked how to get that promotion, but she said she could not help. She said I should try to write an email to the management and request a refund for the unit I paid online. I sent two emails, and neither was ever replied to; I was ignored. Another bad experience is the long wait to speak with a receptionist when you arrive in the store. Poor customer service as they do not acknowledge you or even look at you until it's your turn. I felt lost and unwelcome; we were doing them a favor by renting their vehicles. The parking lot is crowded with their trucks and vans, leaving a very narrow area for you to access your storage door. You need to be a "ten-star" driver to get to your storage and leave the area with no scratches or damage to your car. The U-Hall employees suggested we park in the BBQ store neighbors' parking lot (which, if I were the neighbor, I would be very mad about it) or at IKEA. We told them we needed 40 minutes to drive home and return to leave one of our cars at home, but they said their parking lot is just for employees, and they don't have parking for customers; no exceptions at all. It will be hard to change my opinion, but at least I am sharing my experience so you can decide if this was an odd situation or if that's how they are in general with their clients.

I paid for an entire for months rent on May 1 which was over $220, and upon move out on May 8, I was informed that there would be no prorated rebate for the month. That’s just bad service given the amount of time that I had rented the unit for. There was also a dead rat in my unit and my door has remained broken for a few years despite complaints to have it repaired. The staff at this location are also impolite, unfriendly, and seem to move painfully slow.

Was told by agent at this location that they did not have a rental space available even though I had a confirmed reservation and move in date. This was frustrating and scary. She explained that a reservation is only best efforts and she had no spaces. After much pleading (by me) she found a unit that was just being vacated and got it ready for me within 30 minutes. U-Haul, please make your App reservation experience more clear. It is actually a waiting list where you might get lucky like I did.

I then had to empty my unit a day late due to your office being closed. Causing another months charge to be due on my account. Unacceptable. Your staff attempted to charge me $209 for 18 hours of storage that I would not have even needed had I been able to move out the day prior. I sorted this out with your staff in person and yet, your automated system has attempted to charge the credit card several times since moving out. Furthermore the reservation for the truck we attempted to rent was canceled several times. We also rented a covered trailer which got a flat tire. We waited in a parking lot for 4 hours for repair and then were not initially offered a free day of use with the trailer. As though we should have to pay rental fees for damaged equipment that wasted a full day of our move?! My storage was included in an out of town truck rental and it was very difficult just to get the unit to begin with. None of your staff seem well trained and must not be compensated well because their attitude is quite demure even when being spoken to kindly and with patience. My experience with Uhaul has been REPEATEDLY deplorable. May I suggest you train you staff adequately and pay them better.

Iryna K | Overall ExperienceThis is a disgrace of a location for U-Haul. I've rented trucks from U-Haul for numerous moves at different locations and have never had an issue. Yet, this storage U-Haul location is awful. The management and staff are impossible to communicate with because they never answer their phones and the staff are not properly trained. I was charged twice for a lock I bought for my locker and they refused to assist and refund me in the matter. I also was told by the staff when I first got to the facility that they would have to see if they had storage available, when I already reserved my storage unit online (stating it was available). Fortunately they had one unit left but it took them an hour to figure out how to assist me. They took my credit card information as they said they would make automatic monthly payments on my card for my unit. However a month later I'm getting calls stating I'm late with paying. Why did they take my credit card information? Is that being used by an employee? Such an awful experience. I would not recommend. The only reason I gave this location a "2 stars" is because the actual storage units suffice to store your items. Honestly a self-serve storage locker facility would probably be better. Renter beware.

Also, the locks are very hard to open after a few months, took nearly 1 hr to open a few times. It's a good thing I didn't go in it often.

I was offered a free first month as I usually am with my reservations, given the fact that I have a corporate account. When I took the offer the sales associate confirmed this with me at the time the first month would be free and proceeded to process the transaction. Only after I was all moved in called me to tell me that there had been a mistake. They subsequently threatened to “cut the lock if I did not return to the store and dispose of all my items.” They had called me after hours to tell me this! The store closed at 7:00pm on Wednesday and they called me at 7:45pm after I had already gotten to my house and returned the truck! Completely inappropriate on behalf of U-Haul especially consider I spend thousands of dollars every month renting equipment from this company and this exact location! They then proceeded to steal a total of $271.49 from me by charging my account without authorization! What kind of organization does that! I am taking further action and will consider strongly closing my account with U-Haul at the end of the month after I’ve fulfilled all my business obligations.

Uhaul should not have an online move out portal if I you’re just going to make customers go in to the facility in person. The whole process made me not want to use uhaul again as it caused a ton of unnecessary stress.
