ADINA LThere should be more than one employee on weekends. Every time I go, there’s only one employee on staff and the credit card terminals are not working. I feel bad for the employee left to an angry line of customers all to himself every time. The 10’ truck I rented was pretty old, the door didn’t want to close unless slammed, the window knob fell off and I had to pop it back on. The engine seemed like it was revving too high and needed service. This is the only u haul in Humboldt but I wish it was well staffed and all the services were running better.
TANYA NWhen I came to get my rental that I had reserved it wasn’t available. They replaced it with another truck that was unfortunately full of animal hair. This caused my child to have an allergic reaction. I was called by the manager who was very aggressive, rude and unprofessional. I have heard locally about this individual abusing his power and being unfair, unprofessional and rude to customers so I know I am not alone in being mistreated. I will disputing the charges with my credit card company and opt to never use this location again because the staff is retaliatory.
KIANA EI asked for a 6x12 trailer and what i got had a 4 foot 9 in tailgate. I immediately returned the trailer and was charged full price. It would have been courteous to disclose the trailer did not in fact have capabilities of loading a 5 foot wide item.

CURTIS AThe employees were having a lot of trouble with the credit card reader and computers. Check in was prepaid and I was on time for pick up, yet I stood at the counter without being acknowledged by employees. Took nearly 1/2 hr before I was checked out and told they didn't need the card reader because I prepaid. Felt that my time was wasted standing there while they called uhaul tech support.

Also plan on connecting up your own trailer and disconnecting your own trailer equipment, no help offered and waiting 1/2 -1.5 hours to drop off or pick up your equipment! If there was an alternative I would GO THERE for sure! This company needs competition!

The man who rented to me was very nice and kind. He supported me when another customer was harassing me over my mask after I asked him to not stand so close to me.

BRANDON RThis is hard to rate and not really a fair survey as the representatives I worked with were wonderful. Especially, the gentleman in the evening. Working alone and having to complete so many tasks, he was wonderful, quick, and very responsive. However, the company itself, U-Haul, I have to say, I am not a fan of the app -customers doing their own work. I am older and found it difficult. The representative was happy to help; however, why can't the employee open the app and do the job? Why ask the customer to do it!!!

DUSTIE UTo whom it may concern, When I went to load the trailer, I noticed that I was seeing grease all over everything and I could not figure out where it was coming from. After further investigation, I found the grease was all over the seal around the door. It was then I noticed it was all over my hands & shirt as well as my wife's brand-new sweater I purchased for our anniversary. When I brought this to the attention of the representative in the drop off location, I mentioned that my wife's sweater cost more than the rental, he just blew it off and said they will clean the trailer. When I asked to speak to a manager, he just said, I'm the only one here and walked away from me. I also mentioned to him that the driver side wheel bearing needed to be checked as it started squeaking and was hot when I arrived at my destination. He looked at me as if he didn't think I knew what I was talking about and just shrugged his shoulders. I spent 5 years in the rental business doing sales and servicing equipment. I would not have an employee that treats customers the way he did me as part of my team. This is the reason I marked above that I would not recommend this location. Thank you Dan Crockett

COLE KUHAUL has really achieved an excellence superior to most brands. The crew here at Eureka Ca. branch has mastered the difference between Help and Care, both have the same result but Care gives peace of mind with confidence. My wife and I needed a trailer and did not know what the "new" truck we just bought was missing. Michael and the young man supervising worked as a great team fixing what was wrong and installing what we needed to tow safely. Because of their care, we got everything done quite painlessly. Thank you UHAUL for recruiting this caliber of personnel.
JOEL RI feel the store manager is overworked, he could use some help. Overall great experience, just feel bad for the store manager being the only employee having to deal with bizarre Eureka weirdness. He did a great job and is very patient. Probably should give him a raise.

Semilla M | Overall ExperienceUpon rental, the storage unit smelled like mildew. Luckily it aired out and did not smell bad during the month it was in use. The unit had a leak in the roof, which destroyed one box of my belongings. Thankfully I found that out and moved out of the unit before any more damage was done. Overall this was not a good storage experience, which was shocking because I thought the name UHaul meant higher quality moving and storage. Now I know better.

The gentleman who helped me at the front desk seemed confused on how to work the computer system, which delayed me by a half hour, I should have just ordered a new unit online, which is quick and easy. Online I got a free lock, however when I did the unit transfer I had to pay for the lock, which was also disappointing. If I had known the facility would only be open during office hours then I would have looked elsewhere for my storage needs.

I was led to believe that I was getting a 10 x 10 x 10 roll up when in fact, none were available when I arrived with my things. I had to pay for two smaller units, increasing my total cost of storage and reducing the convenience. It’s not the staffs fault, but the owners of the facility and U-Haul need to get their information straight. Although unintentional, it had the appearance of a bait and switch. You need to do better for your staff and your customers. You got a good rating from me because the staff earns it.

Your company will keep my over $100 and rent the unit out tomorrow and take someone else’s money. Meanwhile I had a moving crew at $150 hour sitting idle. The other storage company informed me that what happened to me happening all the time with Uhaul clients. Generally, I have used Uhaul many times and am great full for their produce but this is an issue I hope they will address.

We then spent the next hour plus on the phone with U-Haul reserving another storage that was supposed to just be included with my one way rental. I added another storage unit (so that we had two) and then when I got off the phone they told me we only had the one that took me an hour to get from my original reservation that disappeared. Called back again (since Matt wouldn’t help) and they said there was in fact only one storage reservation and they didn’t have anymore available. Even though I reserved the two and they took my credit card and information for both units. What a hassle. It took so long that we had to extend the truck rental return a couple hours.

When I objected they checked more carefully and saw it still needed to be cleaned but the cleaning was minimal and I insisted we would accept it as is. She was so friendly and helpful . The facility did not have the 10x15 unit I reserved and at this time, there wasnt even a 10x10 , so a 20' truck packed to the brim couldnt be unloaded. Sol was helping me in the office and remembered someone had moved out without checking out. He contacted the people regarding the unit and success! He went above and beyond customer service. Everyone was very helpful, friendly and more than willing to help with my situation. I've used Uhaul before and will use it again. Thank you
