I ordered my trailer and had to drive 250 miles in total to pick it up. I noticed ever single facility between lake county and eureka where I picked it up all had trailers sitting in them but for some reason I had to drive an extra 250 miles to get one. Not too happy with the extra driving costs associated with that. It was a waste of my time and money I won't be using a uhaul product again. IDAVID V.

Not have such long waits for a minimal amount of customers. Actually have a vehicle available that was reserved. The wait was so long (2 people in front of me) that I bought the old lady's moving boxes behind me, just because I felt bad that she was waiting so long to only buy boxes.JUSTIN G.

prepare for a long wait in line. Slower than molasses. Making a reservation was a no guarantee for the date and time, phone call wait was 20 plus minutes and took two calls to finally make a reservation and to have a guarantee of an available truck. Return took nearly 20 minutes as well.Andrew G.

Pick up times were very long. I arrived at 9 am for a pickup, with 5 people ahead of me. I checked out at 9:30. There were two agents, but it seems to take about 5-10 minutes per person even if you have a reservation started in the system. I rented a car dolly. When I arrived to pick it up the attendant tested the lights on the trailer, one of them did not work. He explained that it was the fuse in my truck. I suggested we test other dollies and other connectors. Only on the 4th dolly when the bad light switched sides did he believe me that it wasn't my truck. This took nearly 90 mins.DAVID B.

While this didn't impact me, I know that the day I was picking up my rental, the phone lines had been down for more than a day. When returning, there seemed only be one staff person, who was away from the counter so there's quite a long line to check out. I used the mobile return, but it's a pain when you can't select a photo from your gallery and have to take a picture at that moment.EDWARD C.

The location itself is tricky to get to and from with the 101 running parallel to the location you have to cross two lanes and it can be difficult to cross during heavy traffic timesKathleen B.
The truck was cited at a CHP inspection for unsafe turn signals and an inoperative parking break and cannot be rented again until it is reinspected by the CHP. In essence U-haul sent me out in an unsafe vehicle with limited rear visibility and improperly and, one one corner, inoperative turn signals. After waiting half an hour at the understaffed Eureka office with others piling up behind me I was told they could do nothing and to call corporate. I called corporate who took the report and advised me it would be sent to the Eureka manager for disposition! Do you see the logical failure here? Local says call corporate, corporate says deal with local? I've asked for a full refund and rest assured I will escalate if necessary. This will not go away. When I called to reserve a truck, I was on hold forever and then when I got thru, was told no trucks were available until very late in the day I needed it. I drove to the store later that day and found out they had a truck available for the next morning. I think the rental software and phone service needs to be localized rather than national. On Sunday may for we drove almost 40 min to get a trailer that we had order , the trailer was broken , so we basically lost over 2 hrs and are gas to commute to this location . We ask for a manager , and he was not available . So when we got home we call customer service and they told all they get back to us within 3 Bussiness days ... we ask for a manager April 8 when we rented the trailer and he was not available or the assistant manager... still waiting for a respond form uhaul from costumer service ... hope they fix are matter ... we also purchase and return. Phone service is impossible with no way to contact the actual location, and over 40 minute wait on hold. OVER 40 minutes!!!! This makes it very difficult to schedule access, and even if scheduled if the location is too busy there is no guarantee to access when scheduled.Polly T.

Seems like they were under staffed. When I dropped off the trailer there was no one around to check me in. The person that finally checked me in was just learning and I believe it was his first day on the job. There were also people waiting to rent something with apparently no one inside to take care of them as the new guy had to go out back to find someone to wait on them. I wasted at least a half hour waiting to drop off my trailer. The new guy did a great job for his first day.Mark E.

Would not answer phone wheb calling. Manager would never call back. Employees were not in the store, I had to go out back looking for them after waiting 20 minutes. Installed the ball hitch incorrectly after I asked if it was installed the correct way. The employee said they would inverse the hitch direction is it was incorrect. The lazy employee would not go out to look at the hitch even through it was 3 inches off the ground. I had to come back another day to fix the problem. Horrible customer service. Late hitch arrival paying for expedited shipping. Terrible store. I Would like some sort of compensation for the terrible experience.Andrew H.

Making people do the vehicle walk around on there own with their cell phone is not good. For those of use that older phones your app didn't cooperate. Specifically I had a dispute of a photo against and actual small amount of damage to the van. I clicked dispute and (per your employee) the app is to open my camera to take and download a picture. It did not do that, so fix your app or have employees do actual walk arounds. I dislike the corporate do more with less mantra. Hire people and pay them fairly and don't automate people out of work and customers into being pissed because tech failsRobert B.

I waited for the place to open and they had one employee to open on a weekday morning. She barked at me to put the keys in the mail slot if I didn't have the time to wait for her to get to me. At no time did she tell me there was a additional fee for putting the keys in the mail slot. I checked my credit card statement later that day and I was charged a additional charge for after hours drop off. I call and spoke with corporate who said that I needed to talk to the local office but they would not answer the phone. Corporate said they sent message to the manager to call within 24 to 72 hours and I have not heard from them. Very bad customer service. I returned the truck 2 days earlier with a full tank I should get a discount not be charged more. I will definitely spread the word on what every media I can of the experience!RHONDA P.

Makes sense but why wouldn't any existing damage already be identified by uhaul before renting. The trailer that I rented was old and needs to be renovated. The tail gate - ramp's hydraulic cylinder that helps lower the ramp slower and help lift the ramp was not working. The trailer looked old and worn. But .. The trailer towed nicely and and I was able to use it safely and timely for my project. I will be glad to use it again but it was not up to the quality that I have experienced with previous rentals.RONALD R.

Very happy with the unit, but even with a reservation, was told there was no unit available. They kept looking and found the one I had reserved was not prepared for a new tenant, but thankfully rented it to me anyway since urgently needed. I was very unhappy with the online closure process. Only allowed one pic to be uploaded while requesting 3 and still sent me an email reminder of payment due after I had sent in the closure info....you could use some IT updates! My only reason for 4 star is that I was told twice from two different agents when I picked up the truck and returned it that the reservation I had for a storage unit was not available. When I objected they checked more carefully and saw it still needed to be cleaned but the cleaning was minimal and I insisted we would accept it as is. My move from Colorado to California under rather stressful circumstances was rather difficult but when I came to check in my trailer so that I could get the truck unloaded, I was met by Shannon. She was so friendly and helpful . The facility did not have the 10x15 unit I reserved and at this time, there wasnt even a 10x10 , so a 20' truck packed to the brim couldnt be unloaded. Sol was helping me in the office and remembered someone had moved out without checking out. He contacted the people regarding the unit and success! He went above and beyond customer service.
