Renting a Uhaul Truck is an extremely expensive experience! Especially when returning to another state. I spent over $600 on the truck, $200 on gas and even more on tolls!!! I returned the truck a day early and with 100 miles less than the allotted amount and here it is 4 days later And I am still waiting for the refund! This amount of time is ridiculous as It didn't take 5 days for them to remove the funds from my card, I shouldn't have to wait to get my money back. It would be smarter to return it in cash instead of making a person wait days!Amelia C.
Alissa the cashier at the store on Irby Street. She was very rude and unprofessional. Neither associates had a mask on when it is a requirement to do so. Both associates were having a conversation with each other about pulling the other person hair chin out in front of me. The uhaul was not clean and they lied about the gas handle amount. So, my only problem with this location, was that I was not sure where the office was. I entered from Irby street and had to wonder around to find the office. The young lady who greeted me here was very nice and efficient. We did not spend a lot of wasted time with her. I think that is really important because, like me, people will often be tired and ready to have their move over when they get to the drop off location.ANN O.

Payment device wasn't working they had to enter my debit card manually as a credit.Agent got my drivers license and agent appeared to use personal phone to enter my image of my license. I believe I did this myself with my phone when I rented a box truck a few years ago. Just some security concerns. Rented truck for a few hours to move furniture. Final Bill 103.15 kind of pricey for just one county drive and back. I made sure truck was full as it was when I rented it and swept it out. Highly disappointed this time.ðŸ˜¡Lorne B.

I am not satisfied, yet: Correct your billing errors that I called U-Haul in Akron, Ohio about. Florence, SC, did great. I was automatically billed $278.01 for U-Box rentals on 10/30 when they were not picked up and returned on Oct. 31st because of U-Haul's scheduling issues followed by mechanical equipment breakdowns. The 3 U-Boxes were not picked until Nov. 3rd. I should get a $278.01 credit on my credit card account , thank you. I called Akron U-Haul to correct this over charge. Facility staff were very polite and went out of their way to help. Supervisor was snarky and had an overall pessimistic attitude. Online reservation/check in system is nice. The only issue is that I intended to rent from a neighborhood location but the system automatically moved my reservation because they did not have the specific trailer requested. The change was a little too subtle for my old eyes.Walter E.

I would have given this site an excellent and it's probably a little bit unfair for them to get a poor rating as the service and the staff there are always wonderful! But returning your truck rental is part of the WHOLE experience. Your application for returning your vehicle after hours for self-service absolutely sucks. I always get to the same point before I have trouble and that's where you take your photo and it will not let me, no matter how I try, I can NEVER get through to the absolute end. For that I'm giving an F rating. To top it all, now you're asking for 10 photos instead of two, which I think is absolutely ridiculous! It took me a total of about 45 minutes, trying to complete it online, sitting in the dark parking lot on the bad side of town with your office closed. Not safe! I have a sports car, so I rent for local moves and pickups of things from stores that I order that I cannot get in my car all the time, you can look at my history. So I return vehicles after hours almost exclusively. It's always the same thing every time, I spent about 45 minutes trying to return the truck through the app, I never can complete it. This results in charges saying I didn't return it on time, then I have to call and I'm on hold forever and ever and ever, to try to get it resolved and to clarify when I returned the truck to get my money back. The last time I called, you suggested that I make a phone call from the parking lot when I cannot use the self-service portal, I did that as well, but I spent about 30 minutes on hold, by the time she got to the phone, I was done!! Get your IT department to improve this, it's going to cause you to lose customers!!Sheryl H.

First truck had tail light missing, and the second, replacement truck, had broken glass in the trailer. The second truck also had only 3 gallons of gas in the tank. I had to immediately fill up with 53.5 gallons of gas. When I turned the truck in, I had to ensure that I filled up the tank to at least a quarter of a tank as opposed to leaving it at 3 gallons of gas in the tank, just like I had received it.Jordan W.

The man that was working needed to wear a mask first of all. He was extremely rude and keep telling me he couldn't take my credit card because it was a prepaid credit card. He needs to learn the difference between a credit card and a prepaid credit card. He was just being an asshole and rude as can be. He needs to found another job because he has no people skills. Then when he give me the keys to the van he said if the key fits you have the correct truck. He was just ridiculous to deal with.Dee B.

It was an easy, quick pickup and return, probably the best experience with renting anything I've ever had. The place was clean, organized and the guy who helped us actually saved us some time and miles by suggesting a local place to recycle the cardboard (that was the reason we rented the truck - 4,000 lbs worth!). My only criticism is that he was not wearing a mask, even when it was mentioned. I understand not wearing one all day in the shop because there are not always customers there, but when you are directly across the counter from someone, they should take that precaution. I have an ill husband and elderly mom and cannot carry this virus to them. Personal choice is not more important than the greater good. Other than that, it was the perfect truck rental - good price, clean/well-running truck, fast and convenient drop off. 5 stars.Jeffrey T.

Overall it was average. I placed a reservation the night before for a unit and was packed and there for move in. Only to be told the unit I reserved still had merchandise from previous client. I was told by a rude African American, very unprofessional at the job that she spoke with the manager and I would have to come back after the client moved their belongings out. Of course this was not okay with me so she involved Larry which seems like he has to handle everything. Several customers waiting to be served and 3 employees, Larry being one and the only one trying to help everyone. He took me and got me a unit and I was able to move my stuff in. Larry (Irby St. Florence, SC) was very helpful in finding the size storage unit to fit my needs. He walked us through the building and let us see actual units that were available and allowed me to choose between those. I wanted one on ground level, however one wasn’t available but he located one that was right at the top of the stairs with a large door for easier access to load and unload large pieces of furniture. He was very polite and courteous. He answered any questions that I had even prior to me asking them. After renting the unit, he walked us back over to explain to us how to use the access key and then showed me how to put the lock on the door that I was also able to purchase from him.
