Easy process
Melinda SBilling issues. Charged for moving blankets which weren't present. Charged for a dolly that I never received but they claim was not returned. Headed back to see about getting a refund for those.

Nancy PYou need make sure the truck has gas and maintenance needs to be complete. The engine light turned on after we put gas. The wiper blades need to be replaced. Also, a second light kept going on I think it was the tail gate … but not sure.

juanita mEquipment was good but my experience during pickup ruined it for me. I have a medical condition that unfortunately the medication can affect your breath. It’s rough but better to be alive with bad breath than the alternative. At pickup the possibly Hispanic women with the red hair and black roots who was assisting me offered a co worker a piece of gum and he declined and she loudly stated “ better than to be walking around with stank ass breath”. I was mortified as it was obvious this was meant for me to hear. Even if it was true you never know what people are going through in life and it doesn’t hurt to be kind.

Gail CEverything about the rental was generally perfect. The customer service was great: fast, courteous and professional. The van was almost new, clean and in great shape. One very minor mistake was that I paid for 6 moving pads that were never provided, but I was charged for upon return. When I brought the issue to Uhaul's attention, they promptly issues a refund. Overall a very solid experience. I would recommend to anyone.

Bethanny AThe vehicle I used had previous major body damage, I would think that should’ve been repaired before renting it out again. When I returned the vehicle, no one came to where sign said park and wait for attendee. I had to go inside, where I observed 2-3 employees sitting around on both customer and employee side of counter engaged in conversation. I used this location in the past several times, and it’s appeared under new ownership, or a complete overhaul in staff has taken place. Either way, Only time will tell if this is a positive or negative for me.

Rowland CI had three different reservations. The first one the pickup location kept getting changed even as I went to the last place the app told me. I got there only to have to go to another place. The second two reservations again I reserved two trucks and a trailer for my my car to be picked up at the same location. I reserved them as close to the location as I could because one the place my belongings were at gave me a time frame that I would have access. Secondly the place who had my things had moved them to a location ten and a half hours away and they weren’t supposed to. I was driving from another state to pick up the uhauls with help to pick my things up. The whole trip to that state my pickup locations and times changed three times even after I called UhAul to get this fixed. The trucks are great. The actual locations are great. The reservations caused stress. Having to try to rearrange things to meet UhAul changes over and over was a nightmare. I’ve used UhAul many times over the years no problems. Something is definitely wrong now

Luis JThe only improvement I can think of is opening up a better way to drive in to the facility. The left turn on Garfield St. is very dangerous and a potential hazard. I do like that personal vehicle parking is better with the lot across the street.

JOHN AWhen my son-n-law and I went in after I reserved a 15' truck on line on Sunday February 25, 2024, he was very helpful and courteous. I had to long move as far as I had a lot of stuff, for a 1 bedroom, but the truck was definitely large enough to accommodate me. Thank you Again U Haul on Harlem in Forest Park, for your service. 😊

William MThe store hours began at 9 am. The door wasn't opened until 9:05. Then the employee then disappeared and did not return until 9:17 am. He then did something on his computer for the next several minutes before calling out next in line. There was no courtesy or customer service. Overall this individual and the second who came after were extremely discourteous and wasted a large amount of my time. I am going to drive much further from my home in the future to find better service.

laura hStop charging per mile. That’s ridiculous. Menards and Home Depot both rent Cargo vans for $19.95 for 75 minutes. You DON’T have to pay for insurance or mileage. It’s a FLAT FEE. I was using the van to pick up a heavy box, that’s it, and the damn fee was $75 plus tax. That’s crazy !!!

LATRICE MAlthough the weather may have not get influence on this survey/comments. The keep clean and neat e vehicle also shouldn’t be an excuse . The vehicle was wet and not as clean as it should. When returning the vehicle, with line at all, I was waiting almost half an hour to inspect the vehicle. Even though there were three people on front desk. Again, outside was cold, but shouldn’t be an excuse to bring the minimum service to be offered to any customer. The team over there was inattentive, the show in the tv was more interesting rather than a customer waiting in the parking.

Azher SThe software malfunctioned repeatedly. The staff had to take my credit card info by hand in site. The app would not allow me to check in or out online. It kept saying I had no active registrations so I called and I only got through by phone after multiple attempts. Otherwise everyone was friendly and tried to help. But picking up the truck took too long and made me late for a meeting.

I had to pay additional money for a locksmith to come out and drill the lack. There was no tools available for me to have staff break the lock open due to the fact that I lost my keys other than that everything went OK I did call Uhaul upon checking out.

My payments were set up for direct bill but I incurred fees and penalties for late payments in February. My account was opened on 01/29/23. I did not know there was no proration for billing. They offered to work with me on the charges when I called but they did not simply processed the fees and penalties with a double payment in March 2023.

Edward H | First ImpressionsI felt disrespected as a customer. In opening my contract I was very specific in cost and due date. I was told by Mike Lopez that I had a month free and my first due date will be in December only to get an email in November informing me I’ve been locked out and charged a late fee only one day after my free month was up. I was also told we don’t charge a month in advance however if you do not charge a month and advance then how was I late when my free month was just over. I felt that offer was too good to be true in the first place and it turns out that I was right. If I were supposed to pay at the end of November that is what I should have been told when I asked the question at the signing of the contract, I tried contacting Mr. Lopez after the incident and never received a call back or email from him only excuses that he would not be in the office for a few weeks however there should have been some sort of manager who could have called me back. Needless to say I said it paid them their money and immediately removed my things from this company and I will never ever use their services again. The $19.95 rate on the truck is very inaccurate there is no way that you will get a truck for that amount and it was impossible for me to get a truck for a one-way moved to Matteson Illinois from Forest Park, I ended up having to pay for 50 extra miles to return the truck back to the opposite side of town. I’m owed money since I didn’t use the entire month and I’m expecting my prorated amount refunded just as quickly as Uhaul locked me out of my unit and charged me a late fee. BTW don’t waste your time calling corporate, I tried that as well and getting in touch with a human there is impossible. Dispute was resolved by me paying what they asked and removing my items but it’s very likely I would never use them again or recommend to anyone.

The lady asked me questions about furniture I had even how many bedrooms which was two with king and queen size bedroom sets. I could barely put 1 bedroom in the unit she reserved for me therefore I had to shop around for another storage place which cost me more money and more money for the movers!!! I’m so disappointed. My move was the worst. Always check out the facility…The young man was very nice and understanding. He apologized and was helping me find some place else.

The only minus for the location is that the main entrance is situated vey close to the busy intersection which can make it difficult to drive in and out. The storage entrance is further past the main entrance and is not as problematic.

I moved to a different uhaul location that’s way nicer and climate controlled for $80 less! Over all I was HIGHLY disappointed with the forest park location and WOULD NOT recommend anyone to go there.

I'm not sure if it's the smell of mice excrement or the smell of the poison trying to kill the mice, but either way it made me want to throw up every single time I went in there. Plus, now our belongings smell that same terrible smell now that we've taken them out, despite multiple cleanings. Furthermore, we had NO food whatsover, yet mice still chewed threw our things. We had to throw many of them out. This was such a terrible experience!
