Our unit was temperature controlled and the facility was clean. However, it was always a tight fit to drive our car near to the building containing our unit. In addition, we emptied our unit and cancelled our unit but we still had 2 weeks of paid rent left on our unit. We were told we could not get a rebate for those two unused weeks of storage.

I returned my vehicle on 2/13 at 3:45 to the employee on duty. I was told by her that she would get it closed out and I would receive an email with my final receipt. I reached out to uhaul on Saturday night because I still had not received a receipt. I never heard back. My receipt was sent to me on Sunday , 2/14 at 11am, stating that I returned the vehicle on 2/14 at 4:41pm. This is obviously untrue. My receipt also stated that I drove 19 total miles. This is correct. What is not correct is that It states that I used 6 gallons of gas. I spoke to an employee on Sunday afternoon. I was told the manager would be calling me in the morning to address the situation. I called at 10:30 today with no answer. I have a reservation to rent another truck on Wed this week and have never had issues like this with past rentals. Hopefully this is an isolated incident. I expect uhaul to make this right . If not I will have no choice but to dispute the charges on my credit card and find another truck rental option. I am awaiting your call.

Customer service was horrible, I made reservation from home got there and the lady pulled up an account from 13years ago which I have already discussed and settled the matter a year ago. I've rented from u-haul since because of prior agreements, u-haul got stuck in mud 13years ago, I also paid uhaul insurance during the leasing of vehicle. I had to be insulted, and humiliated and pay addition $100. The lady was also lazy, the gas meter was not the same as the mark on contract. That was unprofessional to handle the transaction with no remorse or consideration for customer, replay video camera the night I rented the truck. I walk back in the building please watch. I had placed my order to pick up at a location on Sparkleberry Lane. About 90 minutes before scheduled pickup, I received a call that my order had been moved to another location, which was 30 minutes away. This was very inconvenient, and I think the company should have made an effort to get the truck to the original location.

No light in large units and would like to access 24 hrs due to changing schedule without additional fee. Also moved out on day of fee due, but was not offered any prorated amount. However I uhual can rent and make double the amount, that’s not fair.

They showed a cargo van in stock. I get there, the young lady said she could not find the key. She sent me out there anyway hoping they were in the vehicle. THEY WERE NOT and I went back up to the office; she called the mgr and she said, "oh that vehicle is down for maintenance..!!" Not good because it should NOT have been in stock then. Anyway, after 30 min, I finally got a truck (which was better). The young lady was nice and professional and I told her it was not her fault, it was a mgmnt issue. I would rent here again.

I did the pre check in on line but it still took 40 min to get the truck when I arrived. The truck should have already been brought up and ready for me but I had to walk to the parking area and locate the right truck myself.

Pick-up location was changed from Garners Ferry to Forest Drive without any notification by text or email. So we had to backtrack to the new location. Forest Drive location printer was not working and contract had to be emailed to me. Tank was nearly empty (warning light came on after driving 10 miles), although latest reading on contract indicated 1/4 tank of gas present. Worst experience in dealing with Uhaul for over 20 years. Would be nice to go back to having gas tank topped off before returning.

Make sure website/app is accurate with equipment location. This was actually the third location I was sent to due to misinformation online. This pushed my day 1 hr behind schedule. Employee at 2339 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC, needs to make sure they are taking time to convey accurate information.

My Uhaul experience in SC was a nightmare, and I do not say that lightly. I was on a very tight schedule and had scheduled my uhaul to be picked up at 10am at LifeStorage on Garner's Ferry Road. I called at 8am to schedule the vehicle inspection, as instructed on the website, and they told me to just show up at 10 and they'd do it there. When I arrived at 10, the man at the desk told me the Uhaul woman wasn't there and just gave me a phone number to call! I was rerouted to the Fort Jackson location, which was right in the middle of town instead of right across the street from my house, as the Garner's Ferry location was. I specifically choose Garner's Ferry to limit the amount of in-town driving because I was very nervous about driving the uhaul and towing my car. When I arrived at the Garner's Ferry location, there was absolutely no parking and a line of people waiting for the door to be opened. I finally received my equipment, an hour later than I had scheduled, and the woman working there informed me the person who helps explain the towing wasn't there so I would need to just watch a video! When I tried to load my honda civic, which was approved as compatible during online check in and visually inspected by the woman working at Uhaul, the towing trailer scratched the underside of my car and it get stuck. I was unable to tow my car and instead had to call Uhaul (and wait 20 min on hold) to switch the car listed for towing to my mother's car. All of these horrible inconveniences on Uhaul's part delayed my trip 2.5 hours, meaning I had to drive to my destination over very long and windy bridges in the dark! I cannot emphasize enough how terrible my experience was and how stressful dealing with Uhaul made my move.

No place to park my car at this location. We're told to park in another business parking lot even though this uhaul site did not have permission To do so. When trying to get in touch with the person I rented from, I was unable to do so. Always got sent to headquarters and was on hold for at least half hour trying to get a question answered. Poor customer service. A check engine light came on and we had to decide whether to check the truck back in or drive it back to the U-Haul center we rented from. These problems caused me much more time out of my moving day and cost me more as was paying movers to help me. Very disappointing and costly!

When I reserved this truck I selected a pickup location that was only a mile from my apartment. When I received the the email with the actual pickup location it was this place that was 10 miles away. Since you charge by the mile this move cost me $25 more in moving expenses because you changed the location. Totally unsatisfactory. I was NOT happy. David Stabenaw

Check in process was long and difficult. There was a staff member there and he seemed uninterested in his job. Instead of offering to check us in, he sat and played on his phone while I waited 20 minutes to get approved and checked in. Very unimpressed.

This is a multipurpose facility that is not suited for trailer pick up & drop off. The gates & pathways are too tight and create an obstruction to get into & out if this facility. Furthermore, the inflexibility of service to pick up & drop off at another closer facility makes this a real problem for your customer service. Finally, the management needs to improve the training of the servicing representative on customer relations as well as what's the most efficient and practical way for your operation as well as reducing the ‘turnaround time' for the customer.

Needed the larger truck, but it was according to the employee "not there" (it was next to the truck they assigned) the assigned truck ran fine when we picked it up but soon after i cpuld smell burning oil and it wouldn't do highway speed making it unsafe to have on the interstate. I called roadside who sent out service and determined the oil was seriously low and suspected a leak. He added oil and test drove it. Stated he would check for the leak, but did not look for any leaks. I took the truck back early as i didn't want to have my property in it and have it break down on the side of the road. On the trip back the burning oil smell was worse and the oil pressure kept dropping. Uhaul obviously doesnt care about preventative maintenance, and would rather inconvenience customers than prevent a breakdown. Also had to break the seal on the hand truck, not to use it.... but because it was in the way. I will not be returning to any uhaul facility nor will i be utilizing uhaul in the future.

It would be nice if there were more moving carts available. We had to move something out of the storage unit and the carts were being used by others and we had to carry something heavy and awkward and had to use the stairs because others were loading the elevator and it was not acessible.

Had a rental confirmation at the Two Notch Rd location. When I got there to pick up the truck I was told that they didn't have one for me. Ran me all over town between locations, finally located me one . This is not the first time that has happened at this location. Very disappointed, but did like the Forest Drive location.

Service and process was horrible all the way around. It started with Brandon at the Forest Drive location. Despite a phone call in advance of my pick up and a conversation at my pick up, my return date was never corrected. This resulted in multiple calls a day early harassing me about the truck. The dolly and pads I paid for were not provided until I asked for them. The app works I guess, but was a huge hassle to check out. After waiting in a line, I was asked to go get a picture of the gas gage and miles. Then I was told I had to check out via the app. Guess what! Another trip to the truck to get more pictures. No one was friendly at either location. Its clear that Uhaul is not a customer centric company. Really disappointing experience that made 2 long days of moving even longer.

The owner Johnny is the best Uhaul dude I have ever met. He runs a straight up smooth oiled machine over there. I have never had as good as an experience with Uhaul as I did with him. Fast. Easy. Need an additional person working there. I had to spend most of an hour or more on phone several times to get pick-up details and billing worked out. Got a different person each time I called. Then my brother had to wait and go back in twice because of not being able to get out of gate with towing dolly (not enough time to get in car and then gate closed, had to go back in to ask for gate again.) He said woman working there seemed over-whelmed. He and I both got frustrated. Dolly worked fine and return went okay.

Only if it was the closest place to their location. There is no Convenient parking for Customers. There layout is not accommodating to large trucks.

I have had many experiences with UHaul and this was by far the worst. Very very disorganized. The girl working was very unprofessional. I had to wait 15 minutes outside to help. She seemed clueless to what was going on. The online application was malfunctioning so the check in process was difficult to complete. The young lady didnt come outside to inspect the vehicle after I told her it was damaged. Luckily I called customer service to inform them of the damage or I could have been held liable for something I didnt do. Customer service told me to go back to the location where we discovered the young lady knew about the damage but forgot to tell the supervisor immediately. This of course caused extra mileage having to double back to the location. This was just an overall unpleasant experience. I wont be returning to this location.

I was late on one of two units and denied access to both units. Was not told upfront that the 2nd month was not free on 2nd unit. The staff did not understand their system, took 30 minutes to get done
