The drop off for the truck was great but when we went to get our storage unit we were given a unit smaller than what we reserved. The lady told us that the system will double book units and there is nothing she could do except give us a second unit that we would have to pay for. Now we did get the first month free on both units since we rented a truck but we will now have to pay over a $100 more per month than we were quoted.Matthew C.

This facility is always clean and safe. I rented my space for a long time, over 10 years I believe, with zero problems. The one thing that I wish had been considered when this facility was constructed is the access at the rear for my building (C). Vehicle access for my unit is limited to one lane because the additional space has rental spaces for vehicles. I wasn’t accessing my unit frequently but it felt like every time I needed to get to it there was always a truck or car parked in the road blocking the access to the elevator. Not only was the elevator access blocked but there was no way around the parked vehicle. This was a very minor inconvenience which would not cause me to refrain from recommending this facility or from re-renting the same unit that I used for 10+ years.ABRAM F. | Overall Experience

I was given a Uhaul that no air conditioning and was not given a heads up about this at all. I did say something, but nothing was done about it. Considering I live in South Carolina and it was 100 degrees yesterday I can say I am still not happy at all. 1. Uhaul changed my pickup location which was out of way from what I reserved. 2. Reserved a 10 ft. truck well in advance, was given a 15 ft. truck due to what was explained as "inventory constraints" from prior reservations. Specifically wanted a 10 ft. (wanted a van but could not rent for one-way) to drive from South Carolina to Philadelphia (12 hours on road). Poorer gas mileage, ease of driving for long haul. So, went from a van to 15 ft truck. 3. Truck was unsafe. Could not adjust side mirrors which were rusted.ERIC M.

My belongings was in the storage since 2013. That is a long time to have a storage unit. I originally had two 10x10 units and downsized to one. During those times I was going thru a lot and almost lost the units but God didn’t allow it to happen. The prior management team under ASHLEY were a good group until they decided to break in 80 units on the back side C building. I was one of the units hit. I was very angry and wanted to move my stuff out of storage but I did not have any money to do so at the time. I was very hurt and I felt betrayed. The company got rid of Ashley and the whole group of workers that worked at the U-Haul under her leader ship. I was very happy to know that they did this. I was always afraid that they were going to try to do the same thing again. I like the new management now. The only complaint I have with them is knowing when they were in the office because often times they left a note on the door saying they were out on the premises and sometimes it was hard to reach someone. I realize the best time to come was in the morning.However overall I’m glad the U-Haul storage facility was there to help me. I rented trucks from the facility as well as have my personal belongings housed. Thank you for everything that you’ve done for me. If I need your services again I know where you are located. This was NOT the location I originally requested equipment from. This was the secondary place. The lady/staff was very nice and pleasant, She had the trailer ready and waiting for me when I arrived. The entrance to the area was difficult to access .I was told I would get a credit/reduction on my rental for the first place not having my trailer when I arrived. I received a 5 by 10 storage unit, 1 month free, with a 6 by 12 one way trailer. I couldn't fit everything from the trailer in the storage unit, because it was too small. The vehicle smell so strongly of marijuana and had I had time to go somewhere else I would have. I cant believe I had to pay as much as I did and have to ride over 200 miles with my mother in the truck I rented from uhaul. Please at least try to clean the vehicle before you rent them if they smell like drugs have been used in them. I'm so thankful that I did not get pulled over by the police because the first thing they would have said is (WHERE'S THE WEED)! I paid enough money to ride in a truck that was clean but that was the only one available at the time. You dont have to worry about me ever renting from you again.JAMES H.

The gas tank was not full but a bit above 7/8 . i tried a long time to call you to let you know. I have to hold very long and was repeatedly disconnected. I did fill the tank and was reimbursed as I had only used a gallon of gas. I have never had a rental truck that was not full when I picked it up. Otherwise everything was perfect. Our unit was temperature controlled and the facility was clean. However, it was always a tight fit to drive our car near to the building containing our unit. In addition, we emptied our unit and cancelled our unit but we still had 2 weeks of paid rent left on our unit. I returned my vehicle on 2/13 at 3:45 to the employee on duty. I was told by her that she would get it closed out and I would receive an email with my final receipt. I reached out to uhaul on Saturday night because I still had not received a receipt. I never heard back. My receipt was sent to me on Sunday , 2/14 at 11am, stating that I returned the vehicle on 2/14 at 4:41pm. This is obviously untrue. My receipt also stated that I drove 19 total miles. This is correct. What is not correct is that It states that I used 6 gallons of gas. I spoke to an employee on Sunday afternoon. I was told the manager would be calling me in the morning to address the situation. I called at 10:30 today with no answer. I have a reservation to rent another truck on Wed this week and have never had issues like this with past rentals. Hopefully this is an isolated incident. I expect uhaul to make this right . If not I will have no choice but to dispute the charges on my credit card and find another truck rental option. I am awaiting your call.Scott G.

Customer service was horrible, I made reservation from home got there and the lady pulled up an account from 13years ago which I have already discussed and settled the matter a year ago. I've rented from u-haul since because of prior agreements, u-haul got stuck in mud 13years ago, I also paid uhaul insurance during the leasing of vehicle. I had to be insulted, and humiliated and pay addition $100. The lady was also lazy, the gas meter was not the same as the mark on contract. That was unprofessional to handle the transaction with no remorse or consideration for customer, replay video camera the night I rented the truck. I walk back in the building please watch. They showed a cargo van in stock. I get there, the young lady said she could not find the key. She sent me out there anyway hoping they were in the vehicle. THEY WERE NOT and I went back up to the office; she called the mgr and she said, "oh that vehicle is down for maintenance..!!" Not good because it should NOT have been in stock then. Pick-up location was changed from Garners Ferry to Forest Drive without any notification by text or email. So we had to backtrack to the new location. Forest Drive location printer was not working and contract had to be emailed to me. Tank was nearly empty (warning light came on after driving 10 miles), although latest reading on contract indicated 1/4 tank of gas present. Worst experience in dealing with Uhaul for over 20 years. Make sure website/app is accurate with equipment location. This was actually the third location I was sent to due to misinformation online. This pushed my day 1 hr behind schedule. My Uhaul experience in SC was a nightmare, and I do not say that lightly. I was on a very tight schedule and had scheduled my uhaul to be picked up at 10am at LifeStorage on Garner's Ferry Road. I called at 8am to schedule the vehicle inspection, as instructed on the website, and they told me to just show up at 10 and they'd do it there. When I arrived at 10, the man at the desk told me the Uhaul woman wasn't there and just gave me a phone number to call! I was rerouted to the Fort Jackson location, which was right in the middle of town instead of right across the street from my house, as the Garner's Ferry location was. I specifically choose Garner's Ferry to limit the amount of in-town driving because I was very nervous about driving the uhaul and towing my car. When I arrived at the Garner's Ferry location, there was absolutely no parking and a line of people waiting for the door to be opened. I finally received my equipment, an hour later than I had scheduled, and the woman working there informed me the person who helps explain the towing wasn't there so I would need to just watch a video! When I tried to load my honda civic, which was approved as compatible during online check in and visually inspected by the woman working at Uhaul, the towing trailer scratched the underside of my car and it get stuck. I was unable to tow my car and instead had to call Uhaul (and wait 20 min on hold) to switch the car listed for towing to my mother's car. All of these horrible inconveniences on Uhaul's part delayed my trip 2.5 hours, meaning I had to drive to my destination over very long and windy bridges in the dark! I cannot emphasize enough how terrible my experience was and how stressful dealing with Uhaul made my move.Alissa W.

No place to park my car at this location. We're told to park in another business parking lot even though this uhaul site did not have permission To do so. When trying to get in touch with the person I rented from, I was unable to do so. Always got sent to headquarters and was on hold for at least half hour trying to get a question answered. Poor customer service. A check engine light came on and we had to decide whether to check the truck back in or drive it back to the U-Haul center we rented from. These problems caused me much more time out of my moving day and cost me more as was paying movers to help me. Very disappointing and costly!Bess T.

When I reserved this truck I selected a pickup location that was only a mile from my apartment. When I received the the email with the actual pickup location it was this place that was 10 miles away.
