This was a horrible experience. The original location in Inglewood, didn't have keys for the trucks and I had to switch locations. The person at the Inglewood location, didn't return my driver license and I had to drive all the way back to pick it up after going to the Gardena location. Very unprofessional and I will never use your services again. I should have been given a discount..

General manager was indifferent to customers with no ability to resolve my overcharge issues. Denver office repeatedly called to rectify my issues and he simply sent incoming calls to voicemail while he proceeded to text message on his private cell. Had to hand him my personal cell to speak with Denver office. Still charged me overtime after explaining multiple times about the defective tire issues and oil change. They had no interest in resolving my issues and waiving the charges.

I picked up the truck and the Lady I purchased the truck from said to return gas gage at full since that is what it currently is. I went a total of 14 miles on my receipt and I filled over 5 gallons of gas($16.20 at $2.99 per gallon) when I returned the truck. Does the truck get 3 miles per gallon? Person just said sorry, gage was probably a little under the full gage when I rented it and I should of noticed and told the worker. Could not help me. That was not right.

I understand that many ppl rent your vehicles for ALL kinds of reasons, BUT it would be a wonderful thing if you could think of a way to make your vehicles smell BETTER! The vehicle' interior smell had an awful stench. If I didn't need to use the van, I would not have used it. Overall, I really appreciate Bryce who is the person who checks your vehicles in when we bring them back. He knows what CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALL ABOUT!

They were very busy he day I picked up the trailer son it was a little slow. Not a big deal though. The staff was nice and helpful. I felt that the price of $600, all said and done, For a 5x8 trailer was very high. Next time I will look into buying a used trailer as I move often due to being an independent contractor.

That being said, I will absolutely visit the Gardena U-Haul again, for renting your moving equipment, in the near future. I've a comment on Uhaul's Rosemead location. A few days ago, I went and asked if I could rent a truck at Gardena to move things over and return the truck to Rosemead location, counter staff there told me yes I could do that, but fell short of telling me the price would be different if I chose not to return the truck to where I rented from. So yesterday I took 3 buses to get to their Gardena location to find out if I return the truck to Rosemead instead of Gardena, I've to pay $130, much more than the other way. I ended up spending 3 hours with buses to go to Gardena to get the truck, and another 3 hours to go back home after returning the truck to Gardena. In the past one and half years I rented Uhaul trucks for 6 times or more, and finally I feel Uhaul treated me like a jake, if not a fool! Ryder was much better in that, they simply told you all their trucks have to be returned to where they were rented.

Thr lady who assisted my mother and me was burping while helping and was rude and ghetto acting. I was surprised giving that she was an older woman. And I had the truck for only a hour and a half and got the truck back I only when 5.9 miles and because the lady that help me put the mileage in wrong abd when they checked it it stated I went nearly 400 miles NIGHTMARE THERE

The trailer lights were not working and I had to suggest to the gentleman to go get a tester to find out if it was the trailer or the connection from the car that wasn't working. Once that was quickly sorted out...he said I was "all set" and walked away to another customer (it was not busy, the other customer had just arrived and we were the only people on that lot at that time...hence, an extra 3-4 minutes seemingly wouldn't have been any inconvenience) without giving me any instructions whatsoever about how to pack the trailer for proper weight distribution, speed, increasing breaking distance or anything. My girlfriend ended up telling me all that information as she had received that briefing with an identical trailer she had rented a couple of years ago at Uhaul. That sort of indifference is not only bad customer service but could be damaging/dangerous for another person transporting belongings....

The representative that was at the counter was not helping. I didn't know that the truck would cost the same I have rented it for 24 hr's. When asked if I could make a change, it wasn't that I couldn't do it but it was the attitude with it that was not caused for. If it wasn't for that I would rate the location excellent!

Customer service was acceptional. In the future if I need to rent a truck I will certainly double check to assure I have the right dolly. I feel this should go both ways. Because people trust that what they order is completed with the package delivery, they trust U-Haul to handle that side of it. A persons move could be for reason outside of location to location. A person that may be experiencing a death and dependent on you to handle this side of the deal because their head may not be all there but to have to come all the way back to the establishment is just not fair game. Thank you for taking the time to read my unfortunate mishap but overall, the service was outstanding.

When I returned the back door would not let up all the way. The associate stated "what did you do to the door?" I stated nothing; if I had any problem I would have telephone. He stated something happen. I stated it must have happen when you let it up. It turned out that the cable came off the track, and this wasn't the first time for that truck(stated by another associate). He was so kick to accuse me of doing something to the truck. I believe because I am an elderly black woman. He did not try to investigate the issue, He just start accusing. His action was not customer friendly nor professional. He called his supervisor because he stated that he really didn't know what to do,

First of all the man who work to this location is the worst I ever met in any u haul rental i ever made..!!i don't want to go to this location ever again ..!!my wife also spoke on the phone with somebody impolite and told me and I'm sure is the same man!!!i wanted to change the drop off location and have a new style trailer and when I called 3-4 days before my rental , a woman told me that you can do all these the day you pick up the trailer and ask for a new , but anyway all our equipment is new....when I get there the guy didn't want to give me a new (they were 3 new and 1 old there!!) , and try tell me excuses and spend almost an hour speaking, just to get the new one...and that I must tell this from the beginning, and I told him I called but a woman who works there obviously tell me that i can do it the same day..!!Anyway, I also ask to change my drop off location and he said I will be charge extra for that!!! I'm renting u haul almost every 1-2 months the last year and this never happened again!!! I always rent from a location and give back to other, with no additional charge!!! And I took it Friday at 7 and give back Sunday 20' after 7 , and they charged me 3 days.!!!!NEVER AGAIN TO THIS LOCATION

I was ripped off with the gasoline. I just drove 3 miles the gauge went down to 1 line. I only drove 40 miles and i have to put $11.00 to fill it up

Service is always great which is why I return to Van Ness U-Haul. The Cargo Van I rented could have used a quick spray of Febreeze or some kind of air freshener just as a nice touch. The driver seat had some stains on it....I imagine from the last murder? Anyway, I will be back.

Good thing they had to car haulers there that day. One wasnot clean which made me worry about its maintaince. Appearance always counts. The trailer I used was both clean and ready. The yard staff were well trained and courteous. The counter help was good when we picked it up but on return seem distracted Which don't give me the feel I was important. The folks here would wonderful - there was a discrepancy with gas amount (wasn't checked by clerk when I picked it up) yet it was taken care of on this end so extremely grateful.

My only complaint has to do with our being charged an extra day even though I was told that we returned the truck less than an hour after it was due back. I understand that you have policies to maintain and yes, we were late, but I would have hoped there would be a modest grace period after the return time. Other than that, we are very satisfied with the vehicle and service we received from you guys.

Staff at the location is lost and lazy. First, the guy at the receiving area asked me to drive around the building, away from the drop off designated area, to disconnect the trailer, simply because he did not want to push the trailer to the back. Second, he refused to sign me off, saying the lady in the office is the only one who could to so. In fact, he kept complaining that corporate keep sending them more trailers and trucks, pointing to the ones in the lot, saying they don't need them. If he is unsatisfied with the employer to the point of complaining to a customer he just met, he better find another job. Third, the lady at the counter looked at the notes in the system but did not want to call traffic to confirm what I told her. I called customer service few hours earlier asking to drop off in a different location, they transferred me to traffic and traffic told me to drop off at the Gardena location and said that they would not charge me, and told me that if the staff at the location said anything to tell them you spoke with traffic and they should call traffic for any issues. She refused to do so and simply said the system does not say anything about nor charging me, so she did charge me for dropping off in a different location. I called customer service to complain but at that time traffic office had just closed. Bottom line, the staff at this location is NOT customer oriented, they need training badly. They clearly don't like what they do!

I reserved a truck from Uhaul (15 ft ) to move from Los Angeles to Dallas. I received a truck with a broken left side mirror and Douglas did nothing when I told him about it. He didn't try to find me another truck, even though I told him I was driving the truck across states and that might get me a ticket. He even argued with me and told told me it was legal to drive with a cracked mirror. I don't understand why that wasn't taken care of before my arrival when they had plenty of time to fix it. I also received a dirty truck that had sticky residue inside, the wipers were also messed up and I had to drive it in the rain. I am very disappointed with the service I received at Gardena Uhaul. I paid a lot of money and received mediocre service. I highly regret going to this location.

The guy charged me for an extra day because he said I returned it three hours late... I told him I was never told there was a time that it was due at or I wold have dropped the trailer off before work He looked at me and smirked and said it doesn't matter. When I emailed my Douglas Brumfield he was extremely unprofessional and rude. I wan't to speak with someone and get refunded the extra day because I feel it is poor form to not inform someone that it has to be returned at a certain time and be treated poorly because you didn't notice it on your receipt...

This is the 1st location that I would recommend. For these reasons; they gave the most clarity on my rental options that I wasn't aware of like the the weekly rental deal. And how it was calculated all the way down to the damage fee waiver fee. I'm a little disappointed that I didn't utilize the advantages with the weekly rate and the overlapping days. I do love the vehicles and how U-Haul treats them and I wonder when you guys sell your trucks or vans. Are there any financing available? If so I'm interested!

The trailer was old and wet inside, I had to dry the inside of the trailer before I loaded my items. Also, I believe the trailer was leaking since upon arrival to my destination one of my boxes was wet.

I will never use a U-haul Truck ever again because of this experience. They re-directed me not once but twice and they didn't even have the dolly that I needed and tried to charge me even when I didn't even receive it ... I had to drive 15 miles out of my way to get a U-haul truck that was messed up. The axel was off so the wheel wasn't even straight. The wheel had to be slanted to the left 30 degrees in order for the car to be driven straight which could've caused an accident . I am very unsatisfied with this experience and I would rather pay extra and get a Budget car. We asked for the GM and he was no help.. The least he could've done was take that 15 miles off of total, but he didn't offer anything. Thanks for nothing U-haul. Never recommending this company to anyone if business is going to continue this way.

The first trailer the girl tried to hook up to my truck would not fit the ball on my hitch for some reason (it is a uhaul hitch ball and mount also) but the second trailer hooked up well. Its a good thing the first one didnt fit because while i was being checked out come to find out it was a local trailer only as i was moving out of state.

Great job but I had some issues using the equipment since I really don't know how to use it I callled uhaul and they gave me roadside assistance from this guy who came from KH mobile repair and his name was Kenneth Henson and he guided me to do everything because of him I got the job done and because of him I will forever come back to uhaul for any of my needs thanks Uhaul for having the best roadside assistance ever from KH mobile repair!!! The truck I had - there was a jacket in the truck there from another customer. The milage wasn't right, the gas wasn't right. But the office refuse to correct anything before I left. The lady who works there has a "very bad attitude" why? the General mangers attitude isn't that much better, but hers is certainly worse. Too many "African American working in the same place" time to add some white folks..

I was charged for an extra day & didn't realize until I got the receipt e-mailed to me. I was about 30 minutes late, then had to wait 25 minutes to get checked in. Called the store to try to get a credit, but a call center answered the phone. They assured me that the store manager would call me back within 72 hours, but he never did. I would have kept the truck if I had know I was being charged for another day. I rent a truck or van from U-Haul about every 2 months. I'd still appreciate a credit that I can apply to my next rental.

Customer service at this location was, for the most part, severely lacking. Workers couldn't have cared less & did their jobs slowly without regard to customers. They talked amongst themselves as though no customer was present. The only exception was Octavio Jimenez, who did the final checkout on the return. Worst experience of my life! I had a reservation for 8AM for 24 hours. I got there 45 min late at 8:45 AM and they told me that they canceled the truck and they don't have any available right now! They canceled without any call or notification. Lady that works there was speaking so rude!!!! I called the Uhaul company they rescheduled the same truck in the same location, they told me that they had the same truck all the time, but they lied to me about it! I finally was able to get the same truck at 10:30 after wasting lots of my time. I wish at least they knew how to respect their customer. Never suggest to anyone to go to this location and I will never ever go there again.

The costumer service at this location is deplorable, when I picked it the truck the lady helping me was arguing in front of us costumers with other employee, the day of drop off they called me in a very rude way to ask me for the truck when I had more time in my contract, I tried to explain that I was going to be an hour late and nothing else the inconsiderate rude and very unprofessional person on the phone was pretty much yelling at me stating that somebody else was wating for the truck which I totally could've understood without the aggravations, Im very confident that this is eco of many other reviews I personally will never go back to this place

Present yourself as professionals. Don't look disinterested. Assist the customer. Check the equipment for flats etc. Had to jack up the trailer to inflate tire. Tires were in terrible condition. There was no tissue or seat covers in the restroom. Workers all seemed asleep and uninterested the worker who assisted with hooking up the trailer was not helpful. Will not use this facility again unless it is the only u-haul store available and I am under a severe deadline and have no other viable choices. Very sad. The overall service was low energy.

Hello, I rented a 10 foot truck and when i was driving at night i got pulled over by a police officer because of the front headlight not working. He told me that he was going to give me a ticket because of the front head lights was out. Luckily he changed his mind and didn't give me a ticket since it was not my fault but told me that it wasn't safe. I didn't think of checking the truck before leaving because i thought that inspections were done before giving them out to customers!!!!!! Also, when we took the truck, the paper said the truck had less miles than it actually had. The guy there said that he wrote the correct mileage on the paper but when we returned the truck they told us that we had done the exact miles that were originally charged and once i further inspected the receipt, i notice we actually did approximately 7 miles less and i was still charged the same original amount. I told the workers there about my concerns but they didn't do anything about it. I am very upset about the service i received and would not recommend you to anyone again.

UHaul, like any other rental agency, have rightly have earned the reputation of "underhandly" taking the customer's money by how you play your games on the level of gasoline in which we check out the vehcile and the level at which we have to return it. I will not bore you with the obvious you damn know what I am referring to. Image is critical to any business and you worked very hard at earning your terrible reputation and the fact that you have maintained the status quo tells me you delight in it. Suggestion: ALWAYS HAVE YOUR VEHICLES FULL WHEN YOU RENT THEM OUT. AS IT PRESENTLY STANDS YOU ALWAYS HAVE THE GASOLINE LEVEL BETWEEN 1/4 AND 3/4 FULL. WHY? BECAUSE YOU GET FREE GAS OR YOU CHARGE THE CUSTOMER FOR THE FAILURE TO RETURN IT AS IT WHEN IT, LESS THAN FULL. THIS MAKES IT BOTHERSOME ON THE RENTAL CUSTOMER TO DO YOUR WORK. OTHER SMALL RENTALS HAVE WISED UP TO THE GAME AND THEY HAVE CHANGED THIS TO ATTRACT CONSUMERS.

I was upset when I arrived in Gardena, one of your agents called me to ask about my rental and told me I had a one hour grace period to return the truck. Second time I've used this location. And second time I've received the "only one left" of the trailer. Both times trailers were ancient. This last one had a tire SO bald that it was smooth (no treads AT ALL)! And it was oily. Don't you have anybody to clean them......a little bit? Representatives seemed to be moving in slo-motion. It was a waste of time that this place makes you wait in line only to be told to move your car so the trailer could be hooked up, and then come back inside to finish the paperwork. We rented from another place a couple of weeks ago, and we did our paperwork first, and then someone hooked us up, and off we went. The process at Gardena UHaul takes that much longer, and makes people wait WAY more than they should. The people were friendly, but they weren't as thorough in explaining things such as numbers to contact if something happens to the trailer while you are moving, etc.

The initial person who served me was not that friendly and when I returned the truck I felt like I was ripped off - I took the van 18 miles, I put over a gallon of gas in which should be enough to cover 18 miles, and I was then charged a gallon and a half as they said the tank wasn't where it was when I took it. It was only an extra 6 bucks, but that cost your company my business - there are plenty of other truck companies, I won't be back.

The truck I recieved had dirt and drinking straws in the floor board. It was filthy to be a new truck. When I went to check in/ return the truck. The guy that accosted me was short, rude and argumentative to the point where he told me that ' you said you put more gas in here than was required it's exaclty where it was ' I then told him I said ' I believe it was' If I'm not mistaken isn't that his job to check and charge? Not berate and belittle. I will never use this location agin. I was my second time here.

The location was extremely convenient for me and the truck was clean. As for the maintenance, there needs to be a stop guard installed to make sure the read door doesn't rise so far that the latch gets stuck above the rim. This is dangerous to get it released, as I suffered pinched & bruised fingers. I called customer service and was told to contact road assistance. Calling them only gave me automated runaround & going online wasn't successful. We eventually fixed ourselves, only for it to happen again after removing the last of .you things. Fortunately I had no dolly and was forced to ride with the door open for 6 miles & return it after hours leaving the furniture pads exposed. I backed into a space to guard against someone seeing them & potentially stealing them. This was not a good experience.

Called them to ask for help with another stall right after fill up of gas and was less than a mile away. The man said yeah uh you have to call road assistance, asked to be transfered, he said number on key. Note, Lompoc village location did transfer me.. hmm. He did want to be bothered. So after an hour on phone and another hour to wait for help, my husband got it barely to run so we drove it (snail pace) & left for company to deal with ax it should of been done in the first place not a bandaid fix.

Only suggestion I might make is to make it a little clearer for people coming from the Rosecrans direction that the first driveway is for storage, and mark the rental entrance a little better for people coming that direction. Otherwise, great facility, staff and equipment!
