Sell staff didn't know where the trailer was he had to move several trailers to get to mine should have been ready to pick up at appointment time

Eric J.When I drop my U-Haul off they had closed but there are still employees at the location I had a hard time due to it being my first time renting however I filled it up halfway and returned items the second day like told, I had no idea how to do anything and I didn't know before putting the keys in the box that I had to report online, I turned it in the box before reporting online and any employee could've told me that however they disregarded me at the location I dropped off in Garland Texas. I was hoping I wouldn't get overcharged because of the employees however I think the payment is fine and I truly hope I parked in the right spot.

We rented a one way truck from Garland, TX to Edmond, OK. The guys on both ends were super helpful from a thorough explanation of the return process to check in our truck even though we showed up 20 minutes after the shop closed. Highly recommend Uhaul for any of your moving needs.

The only disappointing fact was that he was the only employee present and had to do everything himself including working the front desk and then helping people outside to hook up a trailer. How do you only have one person at such a large facility especially on a Saturday? I have to say though that this lone person was awesome at his job and had a great attitude!

There should be something to let people/customers know about having to have cell phone and reserved rentals are held for only an hour. Had to wait in line twice. Two verry long waits....

WILLIAM S.DO NOT CANCEL THE REQUESTED LOCATION AT LAST MINUTE! THEN, DO NOT CHARGE THE CUSTOMER TO HAVE TO DRIVE 2 HOURS ROUND TRIP TO GO GET SAID VEHICLE! My husband told them about this at drop off but we were charged anyway!
Anthony S.Wait time too long in lobby. They need more than one person working the counter and more than one person working the vehicles in the lot. The Regional Dispatch person on the phone and the person at the counter said I would be credited unused time (I only needed 28 hours instead of 2 full days). When I returned, they said uhaul does not credit unused time and then acted like they didn't care that 2 other uhaul employees told me the opposite.

David J.The Customer Service was amazing. The Vehicle they provided had a check engine light that was on when I picked up the truck. I could not accelerate over 40 because it made a horrible noise and would feel like it was going to shut down. It also did not accelerate over 40 when pushing on gas it only made a noise like it was trying to accelerate. I also had to switch locations which put me further out than I had to drive so it put more mileage than expected to use. I was not happy about the truck and hope that they fix the truck before giving it out to someone else to use.

KATHY D.I called the service center because the vehicle was not operating normally. Was assured everything was safe and I would be able to make it to my destination and back to the drop off point with no issues. I was not allowed to drop the vehicle off closer to my destination and on the way to the vehicle return my vehicle died. I was forced to pull over on a busy highway with vehicles driving past at the posted speed limit of 70MPH or greater in the middle of the night and told I was required to stay with the vehicle until a wrecker arrived, repaired the vehicle, and to turn in the vehicle at the designated drop off point. The ETA of the wrecker was 90 minutes. 120 minutes later the wrecking crew sent an estimate of an additional 60 min ETA on their technician. The experience was completely shameful and endangered not only my life but that of my passenger.

Mario H.The location suited my needs perfectly. The online check in was great except I wanted the front desk pickup. Upon arrival the wait was long. The Customer Service Tech started off disgruntled by demeanor. After a few awkward and stern responses, he leveled with me about being hard of hearing and not meaning to come off rude. He offered a guideline perk of extended time for the wait. Customer service went up to an 8. The van was filthy outside however the inside was clean. The furniture dolly had a sticking roll which was discovered after furniture was placed on it. So, in returning, another long wait. Told him about the dolly and he immediately took care of the matter. From the looks of it, he was doing the storage and rentals on a busy day. With that possibly the case, I cut him some slack and felt my experience was overall an 8. Yes, I would return but maybe try using the online rental option as suggested.🤔

ALAINA O.I was charged a 7-day rental when I only rented for 24 hours. Richard the U-Haul rep said that they were having issues with check out system. I was charged $901.54 & my bank account is now overdrawn. And have no idea when U-haul will release the pending hold for funds on my bank account.

When staff came in and told the employee it was a problem she replied she would not fix it and to get someone else. I reserved my unit online but still had to spend 15 minutes with the employee and do it all over again. I was only able to get mine done properly because the manager finally came in to fix the female employee’s previous problem she refused to fix. PLEASE TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES BETTER. All of the staff outside were polite, friendly, and helpful. Inside was just the one woman who barely knew what she was doing. When I left there were at least 3 people waiting behind me. If Sunday is busy please staff the counter better or at least with someone competent. Worst experience renting a unit I’ve ever had at any facility. Will not ever rent here again when my free month is up.

They refused to follow up for months and I had to file disputes and call corporate number many times which also proved to be problematic.

Upon returning the truck my brother needed a rental and their lazy employee decided to put a rental unit in my name WITHOUT MY PERMISSION and then has been harassing me four 3 years about a unit I DID NOT RENT NOR HAVE ANY ITEMS IN SAID FACILITY. I have told them this on several occasions, even talked to their manager there as well but yet they still continued to harass me for payment. This ridiculous and a lazy employee that didn't want to do their job and change all the information over and it has caused me nothing but headaches over the last few years.

When I went to remove the items, the freight elevator was out of service ... and it had been like that for over one month. Therefore, we had to take all of those items down two flights of stairs ... that should not have happened if they fixed the elevator soon after it broke down. I would not advice anyone to store items above the ground floor.

BERDA S. | First ImpressionsThe facility itself was fine but the staff at the facility is what brings the score down, except one grey haired gentleman who had owner on his badge and he is not the owner listed on the website. But, the owner on the website was just as rude as any employee there. When I went to access the unit, my access card was no longer valid and, an extra lock was on the unit. I was told it was because I did not use an approved lock style. Well, it seems my lock was working just fine because no one broke into my unit. And, what was really funny, the people who were locked out for non-payment had the same style lock I had on mine. So, I guess my lock did do the job correctly. Basically, they wanted me to buy a lock from them and since I did not I was locked out of my own unit. What really made the experience even better was, the manager/owner had to break into the lock he had put on my unit because they had lost the key. It took him all of 3 min, once he had all the tools and such with him, to get into my unit. How secure was this lock? I know my combination so it only took me 15 seconds and no tools. To wrap it up, I paid my bill on time. Had my unit locked with a solid lock and, was locked out of my unit electronically and with an "approved" lock. Basically, I don't plan on using U-Haul storage units any longer. I paid my bill on-time each and every quarter and left the unit in the shape it was when I first rented it over 2 years ago. I moved to another facility which was lower priced, larger, easier to access and, has friendly staff. Also our move was made difficult because someone had put a couch into the middle of the hallway and no one had moved it in over 2 weeks. I bet the couch is still sitting there as of this writing 4 days after moving out.
