I would ensure that the trucks have at least 3/4 full tanks of gas. My reservation said it was 1/2 full but it was 1/4 full when I received it. That cost me 2 fuel stops which cost me 5 miles extra travel vs plan.JAMES D.

Customer Service people were not helpful. Maybe they are not suppose to come out to the Van, but someone should show you how to adjust side mirrors as I had never driven a van very far before. The dash read that oil change was needed soon so I could not read the mileage. When I questioned, I was told there were 4 buttons on the right, which I could never find. They were on the left and not labeled so you think it would remove that message. I would question the mileage, but just don't have the energy. I told my customer Service person that maybe I should purchase insurance since there were expected storms in the area and I did not want to pay for any HAIL damage. After signing, I read the first $150 was not covered and questioned this since the only reason I bought the insurance was the hail damage. The other agent said the roof was not covered anyway. There was no offer to take the insurance off since that was my ONLY concern. It was raining and I felt it was extremely hard to see any dents and scratches on the Van. I was just told the Van was over there and never told where to pull the van when I returned it. I had signed up for 4 hours and she tried to shorten my time to 3 hours. Oh and I was told that I had some hold on my account because the last time I rented a van, it was returned on time, but had not been logged in. I can't believe I remained calm durning the whole experience but I know good help is hard to come by and they were sorta pleasant and I got the feeling some of it was company policy. If it is, It is a bad policy. Next time I will try some where else first, but will probably be back because sadly there are not many choices.REBECCA A.

We rserved a pickup for 2 days my nephew had passed. And we needed ti close his estate 200 miles away ... it had been reserved for a week and we picked up the truck got it to our home and Kings Mountain and realize there was it had marijuana joint call The Establishment they ask us to bring it back once we got there and started looking we also found a meth pipe so we were given a large U-Haul truck that was far less fuel-efficient they did give us the same rate but only compensated us at this point today the account only reflects $25 no other compensation but we did get a call saying it was going to be 50 that has not happened yet but honestly I feel like I want more compensation should have happened out of a 300 plus reservation because none of it was our fault we weren't able to get started lock the seven plan we didn't get on the road till almost 11 due to no fault of our own I'll buy the ladies were nice at the establishment I do feel like we should have been reimbursed a lot more or accommodated a lot more given the circumstances and I also feel like whoever does the cleaning and checking vehicles in should be far more vigilant and checking Vehicles because that could cause somebody big legal trouble and they would be totally innocent of what they may beZACHARY B.

Everyone that we came into contact with was extremely rude and acted like we were an inconvenience to them. We had an appointment at 7am and then were told that we would need to wait for them to move the trucks that had been dropped off overnight in order to pick up our trailer. An employee had us squeeze through an extremely tight spot instead of offering to move the vehicle that was blocking the way. Their parking lot is very chaotic and the employees acted like they all hated their jobs.Taylor C.
Attitude adjustment about their masks policy and procedures. They threatened to refuse service for not wearing a mask "properly". All the while the male employee was wearing his mask with his nostrils exposed. Practice what you preach. And it wouldn't hurt to educate yourself on the real effectiveness of this tissue masks you have put so much faith in. I've been to three funerals this year of mask wearing family members that weren't protected by their masks. Masks are more about control and compliance than they're about safety. Cleanliness and distancing are far more effective. But your attitude about masks and threats to refuse service while not enforcing the same lack of tolerance with your employees is ridiculous. The elevator broke half way through our move. When I talked to the staff about this they knew there was problems with it but never put a sign on it or warned anyone. The staff said they were sorry and then just walked away leaving us stranded. Since then I have been trying to call to find out the status of the elevator but the number listed on the website only allows you to connect to the call center and they said they would have them call me, which of course they did not. Now I have to pay another 100.00 to rent the storage building and rent another truck once I find out about the elevator. This whole thing is going to cost me close to 200.00 dollars. Very Poor Service. I promise once I get my stuff out of storage I will never do business with them again and will make it a point to let everyone I know how I was treated.JEFFREY S.

Not nearly enough people checking customers in. 1 lady working hard trying to get people checked in and she called on radio for assistance multiple times to no avail. Black girl finally comes in with an attitude and jumps on the overrun clerk as to why she hadn't done something. She told her that she would not discuss it in front of customers. That seemed to really give her an attitude toward the customers and co workers. I told her that the girl was doing all that she could and that we all things going on too, and she started to argue with me. I would rate Madison excellent at this location and everybody else at corporate U-HAUL poor. so the question is for this location 5 stars after what Madison was able to accomplish for me. The experience started off as a disaster with me being told to pick up my truck at a different location then i agreed to. when i arrive to that location nobody was present and no truck to be seen at facility. i had to go to the original facility i was supposed to get the truck at and start from scratch. they tried charging me more bc reservation wasn't on file and accused my of lying to them and nothing they could do at that time. i had to go bc movers were waiting on me at my place to move me so i paid and went on my merry way. fast forward a couple days later and individuals at corporate U-Haul didn't believe me either and did not want to reimburse me my money and stating need documentation when they lost my reservation and couldn't find thats not my fault. after some deep digging by the Manager named Madison at the franklin st store in Gastonia, nc low and behold my original reservation was found and everything i have been telling them was correct. she reimbursed me some money for my troubles and was the only one that went out of her way to do that. she should get recognized and compensated from corporate u-haul for doing what she did, an amazing job in the end to go above and beyond. Thanks Madison, need more people like you at your company. the individuals at corporate office never called or emailed me to apologize or compensate me for my headaches, wasted time, money, and frustration they put me through, they know who they are. Only issue I had was when I was given the truck, I was told there was 3/8 of a tank of gas in it and I had to return the truck with that much gas in the tank. When I started the truck there was almost no gas in tank at all as the gauge was on E and the indicator to get gas told me I only had 50 miles left. I had to go all the way to Walmart and purchase a Brinks lock because this U-Haul location did not have one on the day I moved in. Then two days later they moved me out without my permission. My lock was cut off and they went through my stuff. I was told it was to find out who the storage unit belonged to but that should have been in the computer along with my phone number. Nobody bothered to call me to ask me if I had moved out before cutting my lock off. The day they cut my lock off I got a phone call asking if I had two storage units. I told them I just had one and they said ok. They never mentioned they had cut my lock off. There was no apology or offer to replace my Brinks lock. They did give me a u-haul lock. I didn’t find out the lock had been removed until I arrived at the storage unit on Friday and my keys did not work. Luckily I arrived during office hours. I asked the ladies in the office why my lock was switched and there was a white tag on the door but nobody seemed to know what a white tag meant. My access card didn't work and I rented a moving truck to move my things a couldn't due to my access card being denied twice so I wasted a whole u-haul rental when I should have been moving. I have used this location several times. Parking is an issue. The rental trucks are parked and stored where customers are supposed to park to load and unload. If you don’t have a way for your customers to use your facility then it is useless. I moved to a new facility that is more accessible.
