The employees were very nice & helpful but the trucks are not being maintained properly. Non of the chargers worked in the truck, windshield wiper didn't wipe properly, the tire sensor was on at all times. I told them about the tire and they said it was just the sensor but I could clearly see that the tire was low of air but they brushed it off.

Horrible customer service. Charged $25 cleaning fee for “not folding blankets” when I didn't even use none but 1!!! Blanket and I folded it. Others were left exactly how employee threw them in the trunk. Used 10 ft box truck for literally 4 miles total. When I disputed they ended up charging my card 3 times for a total of $160 approx and say I have to wait 3-5 business days to get my refund in my account

Inform them of what issues the rental has. This location has a very rude team that is very lazy and not proactive. No one wants to do their job I've been in there 5 times over the past year and every time is a huge let down. Compared to the dorsal location it's like night and day. They need an entire new team and professionalism training.

EVERYTHING. The female clerk who checked me in is unbelievable unfriendly. She is the first face you interact when you get to that location and she could care less about her customers. This is the 2nd time in one month I had to deal with her in person. Disgusting attitude. The location support staff is great and helpful. The truck I received was VERY dirty. I had to clean the interior cabin and windows for ONE hour before I started my 1400 mile trip. I took plenty of pictures. Managers comments to non-functioning equipment is "that's why we have the customer check the equipment to make sure it works". Really, it is my responsibility that my truck has a side rearview mirror, that the turn signals work, that the break lights work??? My previous rental several weeks ago I had to go through THREE trucks before I got one that had no issues.

I scheduled a truck pickup for 7am and I was there before this time. I arrived earlier to avoid delay with my pickup. I also did the early checkin and uploaded all my documents to avoid issues at the pickup. The staff took 20 minutes to give me the truck and equipment, however, these 20 minutes were not discounted from the return time. I tried to explain this to a Uhaul employee who called me 30 minutes before the return time, and I claimed my return time should have been postponed in 20 minutes, but the employee said it doesn't matter there was a delay on their side, I would have to deliver the car at the time originally planned. That was an unfair situation since the delay was not my fault. It was U-Haul's fault.

The person who was in charge or my service when I arrive the to pick up the truck she was talking over facetime with her boyfriend and did all my paperwork while talking. It was an horrible experience and then when I return it they was try to charge me for something that the girl with the boyfriend didn't explain. HORRIBLE!!!!!!

Transmission is failing and the truck is guzzling gas which is a complete waste. Spent $50/12 gallons to fill up truck and only driving for less than 65 miles. Would appreciate some type of reimbursement for the amount of money It cost to fill up tank to previous level. After 114,000 miles it's time to give the truck transmission service. In this condition it's a complete waste of customers money when returning the truck.

My experience with U-Haul had all the wrong things you want in a customer experience - fumbling of my order for which I made a deposit in advance, an uncommunicative staff, incompetency through misinformation, and, worst of all, a vehicle with faulty equipment which could have resulted in my injury or death. This is my third experience with U-Haul in recent months. On the occasion of each rental, two out of three times I've shown up to retrieve my rented vehicle for which I left a deposit online, only to be told "we don't have your vehicle available." I run a small events production company and this is not what you want to hear on the day of your event. Having learned from the first time they didn't have my rental - which I had also left a deposit for on their online portal - I decided to eat the cost of an extra day's rental by getting the vehicle the day before my event to ensure I'd have no issues. Unfortunately, the exact same thing happened again. The only explanation I can come up with is that these little independent vendors - many of whom run a U-Haul rental as a secondary business out of their gas station or mom-and-pop business - keep only enough inventory to be constantly sold out of rentals to the point that when just a couple of customers don't return their rentals on time, the next customer waiting for that vehicle gets screwed. It *will* happen to you, so you need to factor this in when dealing with this hidden factor. One honest vendor at least had the courtesy to explain on one of those occasions - "I'm going to be honest with you, you need to make another arrangement right now because from my experience I can tell you the vehicle you rented won't be back in time for today." That guy gets points for honesty, at least. Calling the 1-800 U-Haul number gets you a customer representative who (when they finally get your zip code right; I'm in Florida, not California) does their best to find a secure a vehicle in the vicinity. Come to think of it, although I'd read about a $50 guarantee if the vehicle you made a deposit for isn't available, they've never offered to credit or refund me for the inconvenience. By my count, they owe me about $100 by now. In my case, the 15' truck was completely unavailable on a Friday at noon, despite the fact I had reserved a week in advance and there are at least half a dozen U-Haul vendors in a 10 mile radius from my location. I had to settle for a 9' cargo van which would make the vehicle load for my small production company a PITA, so I would have to rent a ramp separately because the 15' truck is the only vehicle which they rent that has one. And, as if on cue, U-Haul "doesn't rent ramps" for their smaller 10' trucks and 9' cargo vans. Add "scrambling to find a ramp rental" to my already busy day, complicated by U-Haul not having my rental *a day in advance*. (Home Depot had a decent 8' ramp rental available which ended up being $33 for two days, FYI). The cargo van was, of course, only available at the "official" U-Haul vendor six and a half miles away in downtown Miami. When I got there, the girl behind counter was not only listless and disinterested in the transaction, she also, oddly, was unable to make eye contact once during the transaction. This was off-putting and added to the perception that U-Haul is a third-rate operation. The real problem, however, was the lack of communication. The girl outright ignored three questions I asked her as she gave me robotic like instructions - "scan your driver's license on your phone on the website;" "tell me how many miles will you be putting on the vehicle" etc. In between her interjections and while I dealt with the awkward scanning of my information into the app - you mean she couldn't do it for me right there at the counter? - she actually was doing her homework from an open college textbook on the desk in front of her and gossiping with a coworker, completely uninterested in my specific questions - "can I leave the car parked in the lot for the two days I will be using the van?," I asked three times with no response. When I finally got her attention, she told me "if there's no spaces outside you have to park on the street [at a paid meter]." Unfortunately, this was half the information I needed. First, when I went outside, a woman traded me the only available parking spot for my personal vehicle, and only because one of the employees at this U-Haul ran into the side of her car while hurrying to get a rental ready. She was waiting for a tow truck and a claims adjuster to arrive while having to cancel her flight to Los Angeles. Seems like incompetency has a butterfly effect at this location. When I parked my personal vehicle, I noticed a sign that said "cars parked overnight will be towed." I didn't think anything of it because "the girl at the counter would have told me, right?" Plus, there are two lots - one for the U-Haul vehicles and one for the customers. And literally every other U-Haul vendor I've rented from in Miami allows customers to leave their personal vehicle on their premesis for the duration of the rental - and I took the van and went on my way. When I got home later, the half-assed customer service experience sank in and something didn't seem right, so I called the location to ask if it was ok to park my personal vehicle there while I had the van. It took three hang up-and-call backs to get someone on the phone and it sounded like the same witless girl when someone did answer. "No, I wouldn't leave your car in the lot because there have been break ins" she said, not really answering my question. So I asked again, directly, "ok, but *can I leave my vehicle overnight while I have the van or will I be towed*?" Finally she answered directly "no, you can't leave your car or you will be towed." Having already spent hours of my day dealing with a rental I had left a deposit for which was unavailable, scrambling for the second time out of three experiences with U-Haul to get a vehicle in time to make it for my event, having to rent a loading ramp from a different vendor because U-Haul rents *everything but* loading ramps - the one thing anyone might want who is stuck taking a lesser option than a 15' truck - and dealing with the incompetent and disinterested employees at the downtown Miami location, I told the girl they had personally wasted my time as I would now have to spend another hour in rush hour traffic to come retrieve my personal vehicle, all because she failed to inform me as I was standing in front of her at the counter. Not only did she not apologize or seem to give a damn, when I asked her to speak with the manager, she piped up "I'm the assistant manager." I said "I'm done dealing with you, I want to talk to your manager directly." In a smart-assed tone she bluntly told me "you can send him an email." I hung up the phone. If you people at U-Haul don't fire this nitwit, I'll never do business with you again. But that's not all, folks. I was using the van to drive to an event in Naples, 138 miles from Miami, across Alligator Alley, a notorious stretch of road in the middle of the Everglades. As I was getting to my destination, the warning indicator came on in the vehicle telling me the front right tire was low on air - only 17 psi remained out of a recommended 85! I scrambled yet again, with a van full of heavy road cases and gear, to find a gas station to fill the tire. Having restored it to 85 psi, I didn't think anything of it again until I returned the rental, seeing the warning light again tell me the tire was again down to 20psi. That's a severe leak on a vehicle which should have been maintained by the staff at the downtown Miami location with whom I had all of the problems. So let's see - incompetent girl behind the counter, accident in the parking lot with another customer for which U-Haul is liable, rude when I complained about the poor communication and a tire which could have caused a blowout on a dangerous 97 mile stretch of highway in the Florida Everglades. Yup. Still want to rent from U-Haul? As if to lace the icing on a cake of crap, when I returned the vehicle, the same listless staff was dealing with a line of customers 8 deep. No one was available outside to receive the vehicle and when I inquired out loud, I was answered with a dejected "someone will be out there shortly." Outside, a few minutes later, a young girl dressed in pedestrian clothes and carrying an umbrella in her hand went to open to door to the van i was returning. I told her "ma'am, that's probably not your vehicle rental, I'm returning this one. And you might want to be careful dealing with this location - they are the most incompetent people I've ever dealt with." She said "oh, no.. I'm the one doing the vehicle return," to which I laughed and said "ok. Well I'm out of here." When I got home and looked at the paperwork, in fine print it reads that if I didn't return the vehicle using the phone app, I would be subjected to a $20 "convenience fee." If this turns out to be the case, U-Haul will lose my business forever. The words "buyer beware" were first uttered by someone with the foresight to know U-Haul would exist in the future. How is this company still in business with experiences like this one?

You should expand the parking lot for customers! You have a lot of space empty behind the fence where you park some of your trucks! All the customers who do not find an available parking space close to the office have to park outside and pay for parking! Best regards, El señor.

I had to change my vehicle THREE times due to poor maintenance at the time of rental vehicle pick-up, which indicates to me that vehicles that are returned at the end of a rental agreements are NOT inspected for mechanical issues. Location manager Hector was telling me, that's why a customer should be inspecting the rental vehicle at time of rental beginning. POOR location and POOR representation of Uhaul. The younger men at this location looked like they were high. They were acting like they were at a bar, using the N word and swearing up a storm. While they did a good job hooking up the trailer and taking it down when I returned, they don't leave a very good impression of themselves nor your business.

I would give this location less than one star - due to the horrible woman(Virgin Cruz?) that is working at the front reception. She sets a bad tone upon customers checking in to get their vehicles/equipment. My assistant and I had to rent a trailer twice over the past week and both times she was there. She acted liked we were an inconvenient interruption to her morning coffee. Instead of greeting us, she scowled and had obnoxious conversations in Spanish with her coworkers. The first day, I didn't say anything as maybe she was having a bad day, but the second time we came by, she had the same rude and arrogant attitude. So I said something to her about her unfriendly demeanor and she became hostile and defensive. I'm quite certain that this is part of her method of operation and has this same attitude to most if not all the customers. This woman does not belong in customer service (unless you are trying to not have customers) and it is a bad tone and example for UHaul's brand. Besides that, the location is very convenient and the other staff seem efficient and somewhat friendly. My suggestion is to promote the very nice customer service person named Alex (whom unfortunately did not check us in either time) and put Virgin in the back sorting boxes or something where she can scowl at the inanimate packing supplies.

The light in my unit didn’t work. The floor wasn’t clean. On the day I was clearing my unit out I accidentally left a few things behind in the hallway. The following day I came by & the staff had thrown it in the dumpster and destroyed it. No attempt to check the cameras & reach out to who left it behind. The staff here does the bare minimum & is not very helpful.

First, the size demensions I confirmed were not what I got,, and the website does not explain about having to use a ladders steps to access your unit.. After this deception, the girl that changed my unit after looking at a few units. Was super Lazy, rude, and would not detach from her phone to give me instructions. I had to return 4 times. Once for the code, once to figure out I had to use it for both doors just to find out I needed a card to do this, plus, was never given a lock...the van I rented did not have a dolly so I had to go searching for one and get the ok to take it...this burned up about 2 hours of my rental time. As I was finally moving in there was a huge rat trap in my unit which makes me very nervious of having my belongings infested.. there was a strong scent of Marijuana on my floor and 2 unit with people bathing and sleeping in the units like a hotel. One guy even had an extention cord going to his unit and closed himself inside.

Water damage inside my storage unit along with a cockroaches infestation.... lost many valuable items due to the water damage and end up with cockroaches IN MY HOUSE!!! So, you pay Uhaul to store your belongings get back home with spoiled stuff and a bunch of cockroaches inside the boxes! FANTASTIC STORAGE SERVICE U-HAUL!!!!!!!!!! The in store staff was extremely helpful, the gentleman who made my truck contrac Jose Alvarez and the young lady who made my storage contract Jazmin Beltran Gomez both made it not only quick and easy for me but were well versed in the job and were very courteous. There was two other young ladies present behind the counter who also interacted with me and were very helpful and nice. Everybody was smiling and the overall energy in the store was pleasant.

Horrible!! No A/C like advertised. As soon as I opened the storage unit, there were 2 big cockroaches to greet me. The floor was dirty and placing my couch there scratched the Italian leather on it, not to mention the roaches that enjoyed it. The most Disgusting thing ever. It’s a sauna in there. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my enemy. 👎🏼👎🏼. If I had more hands I would give it 10 thumbs down!

Overall I’m satisfied. I had to store my stuff for one week. I paid for a month however. There were two guys pretty much “living” in one of the units on the floor where I was assigned. I felt nervous initially as there was a guy using a step ladder blocking the way and was rude about letting me get by to my unit on the day I was moving my stuff in. I assume these were paying customers so I didn’t make a fuss but it was weird. No issues with the facility or unit I was assigned.

I am now aware now that Miami is 85% Spanish. The storage in Miami wasn’t climate control. Climate control should be mandatory in all of Miami units. The staff knew only Spanish. They need interpretations or hire someone native that speak English. Jacksonville was okay. I had to call corporate to fully comprehend my reservations. 3 locations were not able to explain anything to me . I know things are hectic for everyone, just letting UHaul know things can be rectified. We used UHAUL in the last at least 8 times before this reservation.

The building should be maintained, it has a lot of humidity and bad odor. The building has some floating issues especially in the entrance at the load/unload area. In addition the structure itself is dark which leads to an unsecure feeling.

There was a rat trap and a live cockroach in my unit. The rat trap I can live with. It indicates there are rats in the building, but at least you're doing something to deal with it. The live cockroach seemed like more of a problem. When I asked staff about this, one person didn't know what to do and the other person suggested I get a roach bomb. I don't have a car so I walked to the nearest CVS, but they had no cockroach killer materials. I'm pretty concerned my clothes and other items will be infested with roaches when I return.

That facility is awful! Highly inconvenient and unsafe! I wouldn’t recommend that place to an enemy much less a friend. I gave them a “Below Average” because the workers are nice but they could never problem solve. The elevator is always broken, not just this year when they upgraded. What’s the point of a storage facility where you can’t get to your stuff? The last approximately 5 months I’ve had to walk up 5 flights of freight stairs and walk through dark hallways where often times I’m encountering vagrants. At one point a couple years ago the elevator was broken I asked that an employee escort me stairs because yet again the elevator was broken and they refused due to their own safety too. Nice staff but awful facility.

Is the worst facility that I have used, dirty, full of roaches, hot, elevator first was extremely slow and it has not work for the pass three month. I need it to get my belongings on the seventh floor I had to use the stairs and was not able to move because the elevator was not working Few months ago I put a claim for items that were stollen and when I asked to see the film to see what happened I was told there was no security film. I consider this to be a major problem due to the fact that if anything happens to anyone there is no security cameras according to the office. I lost over $2500. worth of items including my diving equipment, coats, cloth..... and have no way to prove it.

I have paid this storage for a year. Hired a moving truck and crew to put some more items and pick up some of what I had there and found that the elevator wasnt working. Couldnt get my furniture out plus, I couldnt put the new stuff in this storage. Wasted a lot of time of the movers who charge hourly and had go to a new storage. They had to come back yesterday to get the resf of what I have in the storage get it down by the stairs with several movers in order to put everything on the same storage. I have been calling, texting, leaving messages and havent been able to talk to Hector the manager. I left my number, email and no reply. This issue cost me a lot of money which I need uhaul to reimburse.

I had a terrible experience with this facility. I got stuck in the elevator for 30 mins with half of my things. Finally we got out, but my things stayed at the elevator for 5 days, until they fix it. I had to leave the rest of my things in the moving truck and hire new people for the unloading when elevator was fixed. I reserved my storage on the 7th floor, without letting me know that was burned a year ago and you still can breath the smoke in the floor. I needed to use a face mask every time I visit the storage. The unit was full of roaches, when I move out of the unit, it was infected of dead roaches. The place is disgusting, hot (not air conditioning) and dangerous due to the smoke. They I only stayed 2 months, and never got any discount or consideration after all I went through. It was the worst storage experience I ever had. The storage closes at 7pm, but there are access through the outside stairs leading to the floors, where homeless people come to stay for the night. Very dangerous. I don´t recommend this location to anybody. It was a nightmare for me dealing with the elevator, that breaks all the time according to people going there.

While I would recommend this facility for renting Uhaul trucks, I would not recommend it for storage. It appears to have a mouse problem and I worry that our mattress will be attacked by mice. Also there are homeless people wandering in and using the elevators to hang out in the upper storage floors They carry food which attracts mice. .
