Unfortunately both storage units I rented measurements were not accurate causing me to move to another storage facility. The storage facility was well secured. However, there was no lighting inside the storage unit itself.

Awkward and time consuming check out, especially since I had reserved the trailer three weeks before pick-up. Check out required two trips back into office; office was not clearly marked on outside of the building.

When we showed up on July 31, 2022 , we were in line for 45 minutes when I went outside to find another employee to help me. He did try to get our agreement set up then informed us that there was no locker available even though we reserved one, more than a week earlier. He then tried to get us set up in a smaller unit which wasn't going to work. Then he found another unit for us to use. We were there for 2 hours getting things straightened out

The truck I reserved wasn't on site and was sold out so I had to get a pickup and it rained later on in the day. Then, when I went to return the truck the site was down so I wasn't able to properly return it then I get an email a month later saying I owe an extra $100 because I didn't finish the process of returning the truck. The person behind the desk said it was being waived but I gotta go back tomorrow morning to figure everything out again.

I appreciated the terrific service at the 2421 Chillum Rd location. However, PLEASE SEND ME ANOTHER REVIEW LINK so I can review the location at 9418 Annapolis Rd Ste 101, Lanham, MD 20706, where my truck reservation was, and where I went to pick up the truck at the appointed time, 9 am. At this location: (1) I reserved a 15' truck, but there was a single 10' truck in the parking lot. (2) I listed 'check in via phone,' which was listed on my reservation, but the truck/location was not set up for this — as I was informed when I called U-Haul to inquire given that there was no key, etc. (3) The U-Haul office at this location listed it opened at 9 am, but there was noone there at 9 am, nor even at 9:20 am when I left to drive to another U-Haul location to get a truck. (4) The CENTRAL U-Haul office was very helpful in securing a new truck for me, at a different location. However, this series of events delayed my rental, which caused problems since I had scheduled movers to be at the house at a given time. The Lanham Location offered terrible service — or rather, false claims and NO service.

I had the manager wait on me, he was polite, helpful and attentT8to my needs. There was an African American lady who looked at you and 😃 very polite and talked to you with a caring voice. I listened to her as she spoke to her customers. I liked this location and will be back.

we waited in line for an hour and a half to get a uhaul truck that we reserved a week in advance. there were plenty of employees there, the management of the labor was a total joke and the majority of the staff showed absolutely no urgency despite the incredible number of people in line.

The after-hours return was confusing. I was not sure where to leave the van i.e. in any parking spot on the property vs the dedicated equipment return area (which operates during business hours). The online instructions did not provide any clarity. I left hoping that I had completed the return correctly.

Was more than 30 Customers and one person working to check person's in. I received a text saying they were going to cancel my Reservation but I was there at the office waiting to be checked in took an hour and 40 minutes. Thankfully my Reservation wasn't canceled. Some customers we're getting out of line checking in on the cell phone and jumping in front of others in line . I Know this concern may not make a change because U-Haul is a very very big company. Hopefully it will at least be considered.

We are highly unsatisfied but the reservation process for our rental. We reserved a 20' truck only to be informed the day prior it was not available. This reservation was under Takoma Park in particular - the other sites that had to be involved to resolve this issue though were average or above average in their service. Still this set is back greatly in our move and we do not intend to do business with U-Haul again.

Trailer was empty, but when I unpacked my boxes, everything was covered in a black residue. Needed to be cleaned prior to rental. Rental place was very unorganized and pickup was difficult. They charged $340 but my reservation said $314.

When using the self checkin be more specific about where the truck is parked if possible. We walked all over the parking lot before finding our rental truck. I did enjoy the self checkin service a lot. The staff at this location were super helpful.

Unfortunately my property was damaged during storage by water leaks. They are working on getting me reimbursed but of course every insurance co. stretches out the process. Some property will not be covered because we don't have receipts. Everything else was fine.

I think that the estimate price should be higher because my estimate was only $54 and I ended up paying almost $85. That's a big difference to me. Also I had put on my order that I needed an appliance dolly and when I got there they told me they didn't have any because they had just gave it away. I then told them well I can't get the truck if you don't have one I'm moving. So they had to go search for one. Thank God they found one but I reserved this almost a month before so there so have been no question about having it. The truck itself was dirty in the back with blankets everywhere that I didn't order. I took pictures before leaving the property so I wouldn't be charge when I brought the truck back.

Indifferent demeanor overall of staff, processes seemed to take much longer at this UHaul than others I have been at. Joshua was very helpful and flexible with getting a storage space; Hani very helpful- but it took a long time as the staff seemed to have difficulty taking care of a small amount of clients. In general slow service, long waits, a kind of melancholy neutral atmosphere to an otherwise nice UHaul facility

When I was in there was a male Customer service representative sit front of the Counter plying with his hair as he on his phone. Next to his female Codeworker that was already was helping other customers. And the male state to me oh I don’t do that and she will be help you. The way he has to say it was unprofessional but I am happy with the lady help .

The Storage Facility is kept clean. However, a ramp would help customers take heavy items to the second floor storage bins. You don’t have an elevator, so the ramp would be a big help.

I wish we could swipe our cards to have access to all the doors. After hrs, we only have access to 1 door. Extremely inconvenient for getting to storage on the other side.

The staff was very helpful. The wait time at the counter was over 10 minutes, mostly because there was only one person there most of the time. There were carts available to move larger items, which was appreciated. The move out experience was excellent. The unit was inspected and an email was sent promptly. Thanks.

So first off, the storage facility was not the size advertised. The advertised size was 10x13x7. It was not 7 feet in height, it was more like 6 feet. This factored into my ability to store things and I wasn't able to store everything I had. This needs to be corrected on the website and reflected accurately otherwise I will report this facility and U-Haul to the BBB. Secondly, when I went to pick up my goods from the storage facility I found the process somewhat unwieldly. First, trying to park my 20 foot u-haul trailer in an area that wasn't blocking anyone and wasn't too far from the door was difficult as the pick up area was being used for truck storage and parking. Why were there so many trucks blocking the pick up entrance? People should be easily able to park and use that area to pick up their stuff. Also, the fact that the exit was routinely blocked by people returning trucks was annoying. Also, why were your employees using parking spaces for customers to access and pick up their goods from the storage facility. They shouldn't use these spots. Employees should park elsewhere. Overall, I would not recommend this facility to anyone looking to store their goods or rent trucks.

My storage K220 was not in a good place. Mud and dirt over everything. Had I known that storage was open up top I would have got another one. I should have moved doing all the time I kept the storage. Just was to busy with other things. You may want to inform other customers.

I rented specific sized unit because it was listed as 7 feet high. When I was shown the unit I reserved online, I mentioned to the representative showing the unit that it was not 7 feet high. The representative asked "Did you measure it?" That was a rude and condescending statement since he knew full well I had not pulled out a tape measure in the 30 seconds it took to walk into the unit and see how low the ceiling was. I'm not even 5 feet 5 inches tall and the ceiling was just above my head. I did not need a measuring tape to know that the unit was NOT 7 feet high, as listed. I again protested that the unit was shorter than listed. He said I would have to talk to the manager if I had a problem. Instead, I found a storage unit with another company that was the size listed and cheaper than the units offered by UHaul. I was very disappointed with the misinformation and the poor customer service. You can do and have done better.

The units are extremely small for the amount of money being charged. Door and lock constantly jamming and hard to open and close. Pinched skin and fingers several times. The ceiling of my unit was all over my furniture and got all of my things super dirty and dusty. Insulation chips and debris from the ceiling were everywhere.

Marcus lost our reservation. He booked it over the phone and then failed to finish entering it on his end after the phone call. There was no record of the reservation when we got there (with movers waiting on us), but luckily they had a unit available of the same size. It still took us close to an hour from when we first arrived to when we could begin unloading the truck since we had to fill out a new contract, which messed up due to the credit card reader and we had to fill out all the information twice. There were lots of people waiting in line and many complaints that we heard from other customers about their storage units or truck rentals (we also had a terrible truck rental experience with uhaul - they kept changing and cancelling our truck in the few days prior to the move). Overall, I would never use uhaul again for truck rentals or storage unit. However, the person who checked us out for the storage unit was kind, so I don’t blame him.

The truck was stolen. And it sat at towing storage for a couple weeks after finding out who stole it. I called several times to get information about where truck was at and everything. They were was supposed to call me back several times and never did. Then take truck back to there facility somewhere in Hyattsville Maryland with all of granddaughter belongings and expect us to go get it. Without them even calling and letting us know they were getting it when it was close to home in the first place. I explained it to them several times that we needed another truck to load it on and get it then. Sincerely yours
