All of the people that I dealt with at the Kingwood location were all very courteous, professional, and I will definitely recommend them to everyone I know. The only improvement I can think of is a minor one. Have somebody lubricate the hitch mechanism. The one I got was dry as a bone and slightly rusted. Keys weren't ready in the dropbox, I couldn't begin to take my selfie/driver's license photo until I arrived even though I've used Uhaul before so my information is still valid. Instructions on where to find the dropbox were unclear, should direct the customer back to the building once they have located the vehicle and inspected it. The app should have a link to return on the same page as the final step for picking up the vehicle so that the user can navigate directly to the return page once they have completed their rental without returning to the homepage.Cory W.
Make sure the trailer is sealed from being able to leak. We rented a 5x8 closed in trailer specifically to keep our valuables from getting wet. The trailer leaked quite a bit when driving through rain leaving our items soaked and with black residue all over them.Ryan H.

Vehicle would vibrate & shudder at listed highway speeds, gas gauge was incorrect, filled tank to the brim and vehicle shows 3/4, overheating, with light registered on dashboard, Tires had no grip, needed replacement.. Also paid for safe move with roadside assistance, Called multiple times and was put on hold for over an hour, Good Samaritan helped me , and was able to drop truck off at facility.. called and left a message with operator who stated she would annotate account with my experience with the equipment, and how roadside assistance didn't HELP!! Was told I would be charged an extra day for equipment . Understood ( hot weather and conditions in Austin made for an extended move!! Truck keys of rented truck were never found. 3 trucks were given to me and none of them had keys. Finally they one set of keys to work, but because they kept changing contracts did write correct gas amount in truck(it was missing 1/4 of tankgas) and mileage was also incorrect ( 17 extra miles that I was charged) on my credit card and of course I had to fill up tank with $21 to return truck. I wanted to give this location 5 stars, but I had issues when I picked up the trailer. I would rent from this location again despite the issues. A huge shout out goes to Joyce! She needs a raise because she is the only person there that understands operations and customer service. I had reserved a small covered trailer one week in advance. When I arrived, my trailer had been rented out and there were no other trailers except the larger 6 x 12. I ended up getting the larger trailer at the small trailer price. Joyce had to correct the paperwork a couple of times but was extremely professional and nice about the inconvenience and delay. The trailer was in great condition and performed well during an out of state trip. Upon return, Joyce was outside and handled the trailer removal and return process. Joyce is going above and beyond and needs to be recognized for her efforts. Also, this location would thrive with 5 stars if they hired more employees like her.christopher R.

Impossible to change anything about reservation without going in person. Calling is awful. No one ever picks up the phone. Then going in, it's mostly empty. Do they even have a phone plugged in? I tried sending a message through the website, but nobody replied. The chat person said they couldn't change anything either. Moving on, I made a reservation and added the suggested add-ons like mattress covers, and then was told they'd be in the truck. They weren't. I signed up for mobile pickup. We had movers waiting and had to pay them for two hours not even moving our items. The first location we tried to rent from was not an established uhaul brand location, it was a storage locker business that also rented out uhauls. When we arrived at the first location they had no truck for us, we had to wait for an uber to go to the Kingwood location. The service we received in Kingwood is some of the best customer service I have ever had. All 3 employees, one of them was the manager, were in a great mood and really made our morning go from horrible to great in a matter of minutes. We explained we were driving from Texas to Minnesota and asked if they had any 15 footers that were on the newer/nicer side and without even having to look at the inventory the manager knew exactly what truck to give us and it was almost brand new with around 8,000 miles. He was clearly a manager who worked with and alongside his employees and didn't just delegate work to be done. To improve things for the next customer I would say to pull the relationship of renting uhauls at Move It Self Storage Atascocita in Humble TX. I would say that every other store should have the same model as the Kingwood location!Nicholas A.

The worst part about it so far has been that I originally was not told the “free first month” was only for a 2nd floor storage unit. I wasn’t told this until the day before I moved-in. I was also told 24 hours before my move-in that the size unit I wanted was not available. I should’ve been told this long before. I had to get a smaller unit, on the 2nd floor, and I’m hardly able to access it. My login card and code do not work, and the office people could not figure it out and ultimately weren’t able to get me one. With hours closing at 10 and my work schedule weird, that kinda sucks. Not one employee was wearing a mask. When i walked in two employees stood there talking and when the third employee walked in he said, “help her”. I reserved a furniture dolly and didn't receive it and nothing was mentioned about a credit, although once I mentioned it it was credited. I was given a truck with 7/8 tank of gas and when i turned it back in it was reported that it was empty, i drove less than 10 miles and also put more gas in so someone had to verify. I rented a 5x5 unit from Kingwood, preparing for my upcoming move. They were busy, I was shown the unit's location, left with a stair ladder which I personally didn't feel comfortable climbing; told to check the unit and put the cumbersome ladder away myself; then meet back inside to get my access card (which I had to stand in line Again to recieve). He asked was the unit okay, I said, "We'll see after the 1st. I'm moving from a 25 x 10 unit of 4 years and will still need to keep a storage unit of some size.". I was told that other, larger units were available if needed, and I left the store with that 'option'. I was left a message 2 days later, and again on day #3 because I hadn't gone back and placed a lock, or any items into the storage unit yet. The number I was called from was unmanned? I never reached a live person at the Kingwood store... *Note* Most people move on or about the first of the month, which landed midweek just last week. I also specified After the 1st... Moreover, There was no call to alert me to the fact that the inconvenient, 2nd floor, 5x5 unit, accessible only by a jagged step ladder at Kingwood U-Haul was cancelled- exactly 2 weeks & a day into the 1 month rental...
