Not a lot I can say to improve because my experience from beginning to ending I was met with amazing customer care.
SHAWON WThe 1st truck I was assigned contained a very strong human urine odor on the seat and floor of the truck. The manager immediately assigned me a to a different truck and began preparations to have the 1st truck cleaned and disinfected. Very good customer service!

My queen mattress was replaced with someone elses mattresses management has never contacted me on how they would like to handle the matter. I would NEVER rent anything or refer anyone to U-Haul due to the horrible service I have received from this location and the lack of customer service from management. Since I've rented it has been nothing but a headache !
Farren O | Overall ExperienceEverything that was within the employee's control at this location was great, and the staff was friendly and helpful! That being said, the vehicle was old and in poor condition, the engine squealed constantly, the steering is in need of alignment, and I'm personally shocked we were able to make the trip, short as it was, despite the terrible condition of the vehicle itself. I'd imagine the employees have done everything they can for the vehicles within their budget and ability, but the vehicle was badly in need of serious maintenance and probably replacement. All that being said, the staff did their best to be helpful and accommodating despite the layout of the store looking like a Dollar General and their outdated equipment making the actual rental process as agonizing as pulling teeth. The staff: 10/10 helpful and accommodating. The experience? 1/10, badly out of date equipment and the overall feeling that everything was one bad bump away from the vehicle falling apart in hopes that UHaul could stick me with the bill for its failure.
Michael BAppointment was for 10:00. Didn’t take vehicle until complaining. It was after 11:00. Ordered a B&W hitch. Installer put a different hitch(Curt) on the vehicle and never asked if that was ok. Didn’t get what I ordered and nobody seemed to care since the 2 brands are comparable.

This is the 2nd time I’ve had issues regarding picking up a truck. And have been redirected to the Ambassador location to fix their mistakes.

I returned a vehicle yesterday morning that had prior damage on it that was clearly visible in the photos I had to approve when I picked up the truck and they still charged me almost $200 for damage I didn’t cause. Thank God I took my own pictures! Otherwise they wouldn’t have done anything because allegedly they didn’t have access to the pictures that I saw yesterday morning!!! absolutely disgraceful I will never trust this location again

DORRIS FThe Lafayette location had very poor customer service. My overall UHaul experience has been wonderful. We have 16 UPack pods that are in storage in Traverse City, MI from the Lafayette, LA and Alexandria, LA locations and had no complaints. I rented a 5x8 trailer for the final leg of our move. Moving is a very stressful experience. It can be a mental, physical, emotional and financial strain so I believe a lot of GRACE must be given. When I walked into the facility one patron was very vocal about his situation, (he really was put into a bind by what sounded like his former lover) with language that could make a sailor blush and some of the things said were very inappropriate. As I said earlier - you must give Grace. As I waited for the next available representative, the young woman (well put together with her uhaul "uniform") assisting this man was very calm and understanding. I was quite impressed until she took a call (sounded like a shift scheduling call) and began cursing about a co-worker. There were only adults in the building but I found it very inappropriate for an employee to speak in that nature. My experience with the representatives assisting me was a disappointment as well. (I will refer to him as REP#2) The young man (REP#2) appeared to be hung-over, "high" or both. Constantly checking his phone so I needed to prompt him while I was signing the paperwork. When the 3rd representative (REP#3) came in he looked "put together" and was energetic and cheerful. REP#2 turned to REP#3 who just walked in and informed REP#3 that he left REP#2 hanging last night at the Bar/Grill restaurant. Laughing to myself it took everything I had in my not to tell REP#2 that he would have been better off going home like REP#3 and getting a full night's sleep. I arrived for my 9:30 reservation and finished with paperwork about an hour later. I would recommend that the manager for that location provide customer service training for the employees there that day and be respectful of people's time.
BAILEY ADrop off was very easy. Employee came right out when I pulled up and directed me directly to drop off spot for trailer and unhooked it for me. There is simple and painless!
Melvin GThis is the second time my reservation was last minute changed due to not having a truck. Had to go to another location other than where reservation was made for. I was lucky there was a no show so it Worked out but it was a stress due to having movers lined up. I will check competitors availability next time.

You allowed me to book equipment online that was already taken by someone else and forced me to take a smaller truck last minute that was 45 minutes away one way and also rent a trailer that I also had to pay for to accolade the smaller size truck! This was very poor experience with U-Haul.

Lionel A | Overall ExperienceThis was a weather-related problem in the facility. Not their fault. Leaks are always a problem to locate origin of the outside entry of the water. The problem was getting more help than the local staff. There was supposed to be some, but they were hard to schedule, and then didn't show up at all. So it was just the two local women who had to do the move for/with me. They were very courteous and helpful. The only remaining problem is a tapestry loom that is at the front, when it should have been put further back, preferably against the back or side wall so it could stand up properly, and not be in the way for further shifting of contents.

Even though this storage place isn’t climate controlled it definitely felt like that. It was not clean when we would go there and 9 out of 10 times had an odor when we would come check on our things.

We have picked up countless screws in the parking lot. With the amount of money charged for rent, I think a dumpster would be justified.

Trudy L | Overall ExperienceI would like to rate this experience better however I just got back from visiting with my mother on her death bed from cancer I moved everything I own into your facility however I'm suppose to be at work for 5:30am and my clothes are in my unit and I've tried my code that worked on October the 6th because I tried it to make sure it worked because 2 other customer were complaining about their codes denying them well apparently that's just how thos location operates in a VERY inconvenient way it isn't 11pn 2am it was 7:07pm when I drove up and one panel denies me access and the other door says I'm not checked in but I am checked in in a very inconvenient way. Now I will have to miss work and not get paid which I really need right now because in approximately at most 2 weeks I will have my mom's funeral to attend. This is extremely poor business and horrible service I am very VERY unhappy and a very disappointed and dissatisfied customer so much I am regretting my choice in storage units now and will never suggest anyone coming here

It smelled like dog food? And the elevator was broken when I moved in. Also I had a unit in the direct sun light so it was always very hot.

Keep in mind, I drove 7 hours straight to get to this destination and it’s as if nothing was adequately prepared for me. I was inconvenienced heavily, and so were the individuals that arrived to this branch to assist me in moving my things into storage. There was also a large rat just crawling on the wall on a unit nearby. I’m still highly disappointed and dissatisfied with my services yesterday.

Each time I tried to enter I had to hold door open with one hand and try to pull hand truck with other hand. Door kept slamming on my load and knocking it off. Also the pest control black box was too strong for my small unit. It gave me a headache and I could still smell and taste it 30 minutes after leaving. I removed it and put in hallway. I had already advised staff that it was too strong and he said housekeeping would take care of it.
