The customer service representative I spoke with to rent the van was excellent and really went above and beyond to help us. Picking up the vehicle was quick and easy. Vehicle was in good working order but interior was smelly and dirty. Overall great experience though.

I recently rented a 15' truck and an auto transport at the Lafayette Ambassador location. After returning the rentals, I was charged over $330 after the original $105.95 was already paid. I called the location to inquire why the charges were there (and so astronomical) and was told there was damage to the auto transport trailer. I was not notified that they found damage nor that they would be charging this large sum of money to repair the claimed damage. After further review, they realized the damage was there prior to my renting the equipment. While I will be getting a partial refund for the "damage" charges, I am very displeased with the way this situation was handled. I find it very unprofessional that they first did not feel it necessary to contact me when the damage was found and they would be charging me over $330!, and that it was later found the damage was there prior to and was not noticed or noted on the contract or to me-the customer before the equipment was rented out.

Everything was good today. It's just that I wanted to rent it last night to get my furniture from across the street at Big lots to the house on Aster Dr. And bring the truck right back. But they didn't trust me enough to let me do that. I guess because of previous customers experience it wasn't happening. Everybody is not the same. But I understand business is business. Even though I had to take an extra day off work to do today what I could have done in less than an hour last night. I had good customer service today. Thanks to the crew!!!

Actually, my issue is with Uhaul as a whole. I am going to attempt to explain the cascade of issues I experienced over a few days. 1) I called to rent a covered trailer. I wanted to pick up at the Ambassador location. Originally, I was going to rent a 5x10 trailer, but they did not have one at that location and they wanted me to pick up at the Kaliste Saloom location. I did not want to drive there, so I ended up reserving a 6x12 trailer because they had that available at the Ambassador location. When I opened my email the next morning, I noticed the reservation was for the 6x12 trailer, but had been either changed to or incorrectly reserved at the Kaliste Saloom location. I promptly called, and was told they did not have a 6x12 at Ambassador. I cancelled the reservation. 2) the next day, I called and reserved a tow dolly to be picked up at the Ambassador location for 7:30am. I got the email, and the reservation was for 10am. I called and made sure it was changed to 7:30am. I picked up the tow dolly the next morning. It had oil on the area where the front wheels of the vehicle being towed would rest. There was orange plastic from the gender ground onto the inside tire wall on the right side. And later I found that although the turn signal and brake lights worked, the lamp on the right side did not illuminate when tow vehicle headlights are on. 3) I received a call from the Ambassador location that evening which went to voicemail. The message stated that I had reserved a tow dolly with them and their computer system showed that it was still on their lot. I was asked to call them back to clarify what was going on, or if I still planned on picking it up. When I returned the call, the person I spoke to stated that everything was fine, it showed up in the system that I had picked the dolly up, and they were sure whomever had called me had probably figured that out by that time. 4) I was scheduled to return the tow dolly to the Pollock location. I called that location to get landmarks in order to find it for the return. I was told that they already had several tow dollys and could not accept my return. I was told to try either the Ball location, or the Pineville location, but since it was before 9am and the Ball location was not open yet, I would be better off going to Pineville because the Ball location had a narrow entrance and the only place to leave the dolly would be in the way once they opened the gates at 9am. So, I go to the Pineville location. Before I can get out of my vehicle, I see a man walking out to meet me. I think,” wow! Prompt service! I got out to meet him, and I am told they cannot accept the dolly. The man stated they don’t deal with those. I got on the phone to Uhaul and expressed my discontent with the situation. I was placed on a brief hold while the oporator tried to find out what was going on. While on hold, I noticed the man get in his van and leave. The oporator came back on the line and st

I am extremely disappointed in U-Haul's service because of my last rental from your company. I ordered a 5ft. x 8ft. trailer for pickup on 15-February-2019 from your Ambassador Caffery location in Lafayette Louisiana. I made the reservation one week ahead of the day I needed to pick it up. The "request" confirmation is below the in this email. Keep in mind, I said ONE WEEK ahead of the day I needed to pick it up. This was to ensure your facility had a 5'x8' trailer available. I did not think anything of it at the time because your locations normally have the right size. I did not check email on Thursday because I was traveling to Lafayette. I was confident that my 5'x8' trailer would be ready for pick-up on Friday, 15-February as requested. Upon arrival at your Ambassador Caffery location in Lafayette I checked in and paid for what I thought was a 5'x8' trailer. I was at the U-Haul location shortly after they had opened. Not once did the service person at the desk say anything about not having a 5'x8' trailer. Not once! I left the counter to drive my truck for trailer hook-up. The service tech outside pointed my truck to a 6'x12' trailer instead of a 5'x8' trailer. I told him I ordered a 5'x8'. He said, and I quote: "This is all we have. You can go back inside to see if we can find another location that has a 5'x8' trailer". I was on a time table. I could not wait any longer to have U-Haul FIND A TRAILER THAT I HAD RESERVED ONE WEEK AHEAD OF MY PICK-UP DATE. I was placed in a no win scenario. Wait for U-Haul to do their job which should have be done days ago. Or, take the trailer so I could stay on schedule. I took the trailer. I was not pleased. There are reasons why people order specific trailers based on THEIR NEEDS not U-HAUL'S THIS IS ALL I HAVE POLICY !!!!! Some thoughts on this lack of service on U-Haul's Part: (1) Your U-Haul Ambassador Caffery location in Lafayette DID NOT DO THEIR JOB. If a customer makes a reservation one week ahead. It is up to that location to FIND THE SIZE THE CUSTOMER REQUESTED. Not wait until he shows up to hook-up the trailer. Not everyone checks there email everyday like Millennials. (2) A courtesy call days ahead saying "Is it okay that we have a 6'x12' trailer than the 5'x8' that you ordered". If they had done that, I would have asked that they search their other locations to have the 5'x8' trailer that I ordered. It is BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE to assume someone reads the email. You have my phone number, a call to confirm the change is better than an email where it could be lost in my inbox with other emails. (3) My expectation is U-Haul should have the trailer I requested WHICH MEANS ... DO YOUR JOB. Bring the requested trailer to the location. Having a customer go to another location is ridiculous. Having your customers do the job that your locations should be doing IS NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE OR CUSTOMER FRIENDLY. (4) I believe your Ambassador Caffrey
