Gas wasn't 1/2 filled in the beginning but they told us there is 1/2 gas filled. When my husband started the car, the gas guage dropped to below 1/2... And the lady there didn't explain enough. It was horrible experience....never coming backHyungjoo L.

When I brought the truck back they falsely accused us of damaging the truck on the outside. We only had the truck for 24 hours and the damage was so old with rust there was no chance we caused it. They then said â€œshould have got insuranceâ€ trying to upsell us for next time. We spent one hour going back and forth where i finally said show us on the camera of us leaving and the the damage not being there - I would like to see it date stamped. They then checked cameras and came out said your right you guys didnt cause the damage the video shows the damage before. They blamed us in the beggining for not taking pictures. Even at the very end they said should have got insurance as we wouldnt be having this conversation. They also tried getting me to leave the location saying we will contact you in hour where I refused. CBC did an article about this where someone with insurance damages the vehicle and then is covered but then someone else without insurance will get blamed next time around to cover the damages. All three of the staff blamed us and kept saying do you have insurance or not. We will be reporting this to CBC as well.Jaswinder T.
The truck cab had not been cleaned. Your advertising of 19.95 a day is very misleading it ended costing me 67.00 for 30 miles of use. I'll be looking elsewhere in the future.VICTOR D.

1) I didn't appreciate being given attitude by the young man working there when I explained I wasn't comfortable using my phone to complete my rental check in. Especially when there are 2 employees there that can do it for me. A young lady did complete it for me without any issue and she was very friendly. 2) I shouldn't have been rented a vehicle that didn't have a rear turn signal working. I drove on a major highway and didn't even know until I got to my destination. 3) The interior of the van was not cleaned properly, Garbage left in the door pocket. In this day and age with cleanliness being at the top of everyone's mind it makes me wonder how clean the vehicle was overall and if even sanitized after the previous rental.SCOTT S.

Make the after hours mobile return system clearer. When I arrived to return my van multiple vans and trucks had already been returned after hours and were "parked" at the STOP sign for daytime equipment returns, instead of being parked in the lot as the mobile process says to do. I could not get by them and had to park alongside them as did trucks returned after me causing the entrance to be blocked.Ciara O.

Employees not educated enough on there job made to many mistakes The where polte and I would give them a 6 for customer service. They just never new how to use computer programs. I've owned 2 company dealing with public I currently own a business where I have 5 star ratting on Google. I'm not mad it was just frustrating.Ken L.

Wasn't shown where the vehicle was, walked around a snowed in lot for 5 minutes to find it. All season tires during one of BCs worst winters in years. I checked the tread using the vehicles key - the tread was not deep enough to even cover half of the blade of the key. I would guess somewhere between 2-3 mm of tread - dangerous, negligent, but I guess fuck the customer when you can push liability on to them. Will never use Uhaul again, fuck this company. Will advise everyone in my life to avoid this company, to the point that I will be offering free labour for their move if they rent a truck from somewhere else. Absolutely horrible.Alexander K.

I use to work at U-Haul and we use to bring the trucks up to the drop off zone ready for the customer to do the inspection and take off. In Winter the snow would already have been removed. At this location they make you go find your own truck clear snow. That alone is a turn off from a customer point of view. If the process has changed it has changed for the worse. The counter workers do not answer the phones they put people on hold and they are not even busy. I understand now why they were not answering my calls. If i had more options for a better experience this would def not be my first choice. Lots of improvements to be made by U-Haul.JUAN G.

Hi, After I paid for the deposit. I had a feeling that my credit card was stolen. Then a few hours later I received a fraud alert from my bank. It was the young kid who took and wrote down my credit number. I would neve go back there again.CHIEU T.
I wouldn't say the experience is the greatest because I had reserved a U-Haul that is specific for my need and sorry because it was only a 8 minute drive but they relocated my pickup since they didn't have what I needed and sent me to another "surrey" location. This surrey location is actually on the border of Langley so instead of a 8 minute trip it was a 20 minute commute one way. It was a reason why I reserved it and made sure it was available at the time that I needed it, otherwise what was the whole point of reserving.SAMUEL W.
Had a substantial snowfall, was late returning. Got a call stating I needed to return the vehicle as another family had booked it. I told him I couldn't due to the snowfall I had issues and the truck was still being unloaded. When I returned the truck there where many trucks in the yard of the same size and I was charged a complete day extra. I find this a bit much and I will not be renting another uhaul. I was told to take the only van out in the lot as she was busy. I picked up some stuff, filled the van with gas, and returned it. Was then told I owed over $525 for roof damage?! I didn't even drive anywhere where that could even be a possibility. Then was told it's not their problem at drop off that it was up to me to pre-check a roof?? I refused and they told me they would just charge my card at the end of the day!!!!! So furious. Will NEVER use U-Haul again.CARLA S.

1) the latch to hold the dolly was missing pieces. 2) the lock that locks the back door was rusted and didn't lock. I dummy locked it. It got late and dark so I called and rented the truck for another day so I can unload the next day and left the truck parked in front of the house. Some broke in and stole my couch since it was the first item in the truck. Even though I bought insurance and told the people at the U haul, they just laughed about it and did nothing to replace my stolen couch. So why did I pay for insurance??? Just like everything out there. The big companies stealing and taking advantage of the little guys. I will never ever use them again.Henry T.
The service at this location was absolutely atrocious. The first truck we received had animal feces and urine in the back of it, which was a lovely surprise when we went to load furniture into it. They did provide a new truck after we drove all the way back, but when we returned the second truck we were told to get out of the truck and leave, and they would email us a receipt later. The man was extremely rude and would not do a look over of the vehicle to document that it was returned in good condition. Would not recommend renting a vehicle from this location. On the other hand, the people working for Uhaul Customer Service were very understanding and rectified the situation after hearing how this location had treated us.Earl F.

I arrived at 4:46 and they close at 5 and they said they don't do drop offs after 430, that I would have to come back the next day to get my deposit back. I had to talk them into giving my my money back that evening. They told me it's company policy, but they were sitting around eating pizza. It took all of five minutes to check over the vehicle and give me my deposit back. I arrived 4:46, spent 5 minutes talking them into doing their job and left with everything complete by 4:57. Imagine how quick it would have been if they had just wanted to do it during company hours? Terrible â€œcompany policyâ€. Seemed more like laziness to me. I called the office to discuss my grievances several times and was put on hold but have gotten multiple requests to respond to the service. Due to my medical condition I was not able to move my belongings. A friend drop the key off at the office for my mover to access my locker. When the mover got to the office they couldn’t find the key but happily let him cut the lock.They even supplied the tool I would’ve been happy to give my permission If they had called me, after all how did they know who he was. When I was at the front counter inquiring about my unit, the staff member was not very helpful. I asked where was the unit located and got the answer "I think building 1". When I finally found the unit there was a lock already on the door. I went back to the office and asked about it to the same employee he just looked at me. I said it looks like one of u-hauls locks maybe. He then said well yes I put it there. I had to then ask how do we get it removed, he said well I guess I could go out there in a bit. I ordered a locker and upon inspection found a dead mouse and numerous droppings within the unit. I asked to have it cleaned and would return in a couple of days to move in. When I returned I was unable to access the main gate and had to return the next day to talk with office staff.
