This time it went very smoothly... in the past, there were not enough staff at the facility to handle all the people renting equipment and I had to wait a long time. I will rent a trailer again in the future as needed. Very convenient location.

Extras that I paid for were not in the truck. The young man at the counter did not have me sign any paperwork. He took my name and said I'll go get the truck. He pulled it up and I met him outside. I asked if the truck had everything in it? He replied, yes. I also asked if there was anything else I had to do? He said you're good to go. So I hopped in and drove off. As I was driving home, I thought about how we didnt check the truck for damage. This was my first time renting a truck in almost a decade, so I thought maybe things changed. After I got home I opened the truck and found that it was empty, none of the extra things I paid for were there. I called customer service immediately and the lady that answered was not welcoming at all. I also asked her about checking the truck for damages. She told me it was my responsibility and I signed a contract. She got loud and started lecturing me about how I should know what is on the contract. Eventually she refunded the money for the missing items. It was one of the worst experiences calling a customer service center I have ever experienced.

One, be sure pricing is accurate. Mine was over $100 too high initially. Second, maybe a sign by gas tank to show miles per gallon to make estimating gallons to add easier, or just have trucks always full.

To begin with, I was booked to have the truck on SATURDAY, and had booked movers, etc. for later in the afternoon. When I arrived at the pickup site there was NO TRUCK. The local broker and UHaul spent an hour trying to find me another truck, but could not. So I booked one for the next day (I had to re-arrange my movers in WI AND in IL, my destination(2) The next day (Sunday) at the UHaul cente4r in Waukesha, WI, staff couldn't find the key to the truck I was supposed to have, so moved another truck over to the side for me to use...told the staff person I would wait in my car just behind him till he was finished....he moved the truck and then went to help ANOTHER CUSTOMER! He knew I needed to hook up a car dolly and was awaiting his instruction...I HAD TO GO FIND HIM to complete the transaction AFTER he had finished with the new customer. (2) a car towing trailer had been left BLOCKING all the car dollies, so I had to help the employee move the very heavy trailer, and I am partially disabled from spine issues (3) I finally got the truck and dolly and pulled them over to near my car so I could load the car. I had left my car parked in the truck parking lane, as earlier I was awaiting instructions from the employee who left me. As I was preparing the dolly to pull my car onto it, a person who seemed to be the day's manager, a Mowhawk-style haircut with a short pony tail in the back, basically snapped at me and said he could not have my car being parked in the truck lane.....when I explained to him the very obviously fact that I was getting ready just then to move the car, he repeated himself that he "just couldn't have it in the truck lane" in a very rude manner....he seemed to not COMPREHEND what I was doing at that very moment!! I have spent my life in "customer service" jobs, and his attitude was at the BOTTOM of the barrel in customer service.....how does he stay EMPLOYED???......(3) in the afternoon a female staff person called me and asked for the number of the truck (which I found on the key). Apparently they hadn't even taken the number of the truck they had given me!! I was supposed to be given the one with the missing key!! (the next day (yesterday) there was confusion in checking my truck in at the Uhaul Storage facility in Bloomington, IN. Apparently the Wisconsin people had given me one of their LOCAL trucks! The very nice manager in IL said (after I had waited for a resolution to the check-in) that UHaul would have to do an internal transfer of assets, and the truck I had would now become a LOCAL truck for IL!! ..................50% or more of the times I have HAD to use UHaul, I have had some kind of problem: mechanical, no truck, booking issue, etc. I NEVER want to use UHaul for more than a simple in-town trailer, etc, and I have moved cross-country many times and have had experience with ALL the truck rental companies. Your reviews ONLINE are as bad as they are for good reasons!! Consumer surveys consistently show that UHaul truck

I went on the 1st of the month which also happened to be a Saturday and busy moving day. This location had only 2 employees and I waited in line for 45 minutes to get a trailer I had reserved the day before. Employees were clearly flustered due to the amount of customers and in turn did not provide much of any customer service.

The 2 ladies working this morning were busting their butts!! You should have another employee to get the rentals for the customers. It took too long to get checked in and have them go out to pull up the vehicles or hook up the trailers. 2 check in people and at least one for the outside work would speed things up. Especially on a busy Saturday. There was also a long line for returns. Very polite ladies and clean facility.

I believe the 24 hour “rule” you put on your rentals for the end of are quite ridiculous. Seeing as most people end up essentially being homeless on the last day of the month, it leaves a lot of people trying to pull trucks out of their hat to either move in earlier and camp outside the front of their new house and protect their belongings all night. Even though you guys fairly price your rentals, I am strongly considering taking my business elsewhere next time so I’m not forced to go the extra 100 miles to find somewhere to put my things. The only reason I didn’t leave a 1 star is because the employee name Ben at the Les Paul Prkway location, he really saved the day because I was very displeased with everything else.

My trailer was due at 9:00am and I asked if I could extend my time a few hours. I would have happily payed extra as I was in Eau Claire and needed to leave at 4:00am in order to get unloaded and return the trailer by 9. I was told that this was not an option both on site when I rented and after a phone call the next day asking the same question. Was told there was no option as someone was picking up my trailer at 10:00. When I returned it, I saw over a dozen trailers on the lot. I find it hard to believe that all of them were rented and would be picked up by noon or 1:00 (how long I extra I wanted to keep mine. This was very disappointing and I felt like I was either lied to, or little to no effort was given to help me.

Walked into the store to drop off a trailer on Sunday afternoon and could not find anyone in the store. Called out to see if anyone one was there. No response. Finally tracked someone down in the backroom where he was on his mobile phone. When I asked if I could get some help, he replied very rudely that he would be out shortly. After several minutes he finally came out. When I asked him where he wanted me to put the trailer, gain, his rude response, was "by the other ones, where do you think it would go". Overall, a very poor customer experience. He clearly did not want to be there and did not want to help any customers.

Location is charging me for additional mileage!!!! After forcing me to rent from location 90 miles away, UHaul has nerve to charge me for additional mileage. Poor communication on their behalf. I will be filing customer complaint

I was disappointed at being charged 7$ for fuel charge even though I just drove 5.6 miles in total. At checkout the lady told me that the fuel gauge will be between 1/4 and 3/8. When I started to drive it was between 1/4 and 3/8 but closer to 1/4. After driving 5.6 miles it may have moved just a bit more towards 1/4. But uhaul charged me 3/8 at checkout and 1/4 at return and charged me $7+ which is ridiculous for a 5 mile drive. Will never rent again in this manner.

You need more people working on a Sunday morning in May in peak "move home from college" season!! We waited 45 to be helped and receive our equipment. The man working had mediocre customer service skills, at best, and he had chew in his lip, which is not only disgusting, it's incredibly unprofessional. We will never rent from this location again, and we will absolutely tell others about our experience.

We appreciate this location working with us to fulfill an order we placed in LaCrosse that cancelled on us the night before moving day. I’m am disappointed with Uhaul on line ordering. I ordered a small truck 3 1/2 weeks ahead of time and received a call at 5:00 the night before saying they did not have a truck for me. What is the point of a contract and paying ahead of time if Uhaul can cancel less than 24 hours before pickup? Thank you to the Waukesha location for coming through at the last minute.

The first reservation was made over a week ago for the pickup in Madison at 9:00 AM one way to Waukesha. I was informed the Thursday before the truck would not be available until 4:15 PM at the Verona location. Took me 3 phone calls and waiting for a customer service person about 20 minutes each time to make new arrangements.

Waited in line to rent a trailer. Saw 12 trailers in the lot. Was told all of them are booked and im out of luck. Went out to my car and got on the uhaul website and rented the same trailer the owner just old me was all rented out. I came back into the store and told the owner and he said ohhh. I see someone canceled. What? Everyone canceled. When i questioned the owner about it. He told me to "Calm down buddy" What?????????? Then gave me shit for not wanting to give a second phone number to him to rent a trailer. Not only does he have my phone number. My credit card number, my address. He wants a second phone number. Like a dumbass. He did not realize i gave him uhauls phone number. Then he wants to know the name of the second phone number. Got mad at when i Said Donald Trump. Then told he he needs to know this cause hes renting me a $15,000 motorcycle trailer. the $2,000 trailer hes trying to tell me is $15,000. I asked him for safety on the motorcycle trailer. If i have to give second phone number. Then i should be able to get safety records on the trailer that is going to carry my $20,000 Harley Davidson. Then i get another " Calm down Buddy" I will never recommend uhaul to anyone.

Better staff training. The 2 times we have rented from this location we had reserved our rental online as well as completed the express checkout option. The first time we waited for about 20 minutes in store where the staff member asked us all the same questions we had already answered on the website. This most recent time we arrived to pick up a car tow dolly only to be told that our GMC Acadia with a 5,000 lb tow hitch could not haul a compact Ford Focus. It was only after my husband insisted that we checked that first through the U-Haul website that the staff member tried again to find out it was okay. It was also disappointing that the staff member felt it was okay to bad mouth a customer who had just left the store to my husband. It left us wondering what would be said about us after we left. If we have the need to rent again we will be choosing the Uhaul store option on West Ave.

The location, vehicle, and workers were great. Everything was perfect in picking up the truck. But, when making the reservation over the phone, there were mistakes in location and time that showed up in my text and email confirmations that I had to make additional calls to straighten out.

I was disappointed that the interior of the pickup truck was so dirty and grimy. We had to stop at a gas station to clean the INSIDE front windshield. Smelled of cigarette smoke and even had burns in the seat cushions. Truck had only 15K miles yet had a mis-matched tire which caused the tire pressure monitor system to flash a diagnostic the entire time. It appeared to me that this location had multiple pickup trucks available for rental; don't know why this truck was chosen. Clearly wasn't ready for a nice rental experience.

The person who hooked up our trailer didn't hook up the chains, I just happened to notice it when I stopped for gas, I even asked before we left - "is it all ready to go?" and he replied yes. Also, the trailer was on an incline and when he tried to hitch it, it almost got away from him. I guess, I wouldn't have parked a trailer on a hill like that.

The employee failed to reschedule my appointment when I called. When I arrived it was a different employee who didn’t seem to care about the major inconvenience that was created. They didn’t or wouldn’t look up my warranty information in they’re system. I only got results when I emailed your customer service department and you provided me the information I needed. But I still have to have my equipment looked at. I hope nothing happens between now and then because there will be follow up call and email. Thanks for assisting

I was over charged and they won’t respond why. There were blankets open and an in the back of the truck when I received it, half which were wet, which I had to argue to not be charged for. Not sure they looked at or cleaned out the truck after the last person used it.

This was the first time we used UHAUL and we had the best experience. We were greeted at the door at 7 am by a friendly smiling employee. He was very helpful. The truck was very clean and worked well. When we returned the truck, we were once again greeted at the door by a different employee who was also very friendly. We would definately recommend this location. Thank you for the great customer service.

Speed up you service. Add more employees to service customers and take phone calls. When I reserved the vehicle I was delayed by several phone calls and other customers. Same with picking up the vehicle and returning it.

When we arrived to pick up the truck, the manager said "Oh we just have to put some air in the tire". Bad omen for what happened. I think they knew they were giving us a lemon as we returning to a different location.

When I called to reserve a pickup truck the day before I needed it, it took 12 minutes. I waited that whole time, and it still wasn't set up because when I went in the next day to pick it up, my name, information, or appointment wasn't even in the system. Service was extremely slow. Communication was horrible, and ended up waiting 45 minutes to leave the UHAUL parking lot. Management looked sloppy.

Service was very slow. When dropping off the vehicle, no one met us outside like the sign at the return line says to. We went inside and waiting again for someone to come to the desk. Was directed to wait outside and it took about 10 minutes for someone to come out there. At that point they took their measurements and walked away without saying anything. They also charged me for going 8,000 miles when I only went around 30 to 40. I was never told what my final charge would be since again they just walked away.

I used the self-check in feature and it was not as smooth as I hoped. I was supposed to get my truck at 8am, but even though I arrived on time, I didn't pull out of the parking lot until almost 8:40am because of issues with the app. I was also missing furniture pads that I paid for in advance, which required me to use personal blankets during my move.

Not sure I understand why it’s a big deal .... moving Isn't a science formula especially when driving through a big city . it would have been “nicer” to understand the big deal ? Everything is done on the phones there now.... it is difficult to distinguish if the employees are blowing you off to finish a post on Instagram or finishing up something for work. I would suggest having (AT LEAST) Orange Cases on the work phones so that the customers waiting are not getting angry believing that the staff is rude.

I rented a 6'x12' utility trailer with the belief that the ramp was 6' wide only to find out it is only 4'9" which meant my stuff would not go on the trailer without additional disassembly and additional rental time. Had I known about this ahead of time I would have made other arrangements. As it was my 3 day 4 hr rental go bumped up to 4 days. Uhaul should be clearer as to the ramp sizes in their ads. Had a reservation at a closer location, with no one working so use the app to pick up my truck. App DID NOT WORK, NO customer service response, sat for an hour trying to get it all to work, nothing. Called another location who found me a truck, 15 miles out of the way taking my final bill from 60 to 100 dollars!!!! I won't use UHaul again!!!!

Clear up your terminology as to how you describe your vehicles. I wanted a Cargo Van because it's shorter height (7'2") than the taller 10' Van (9' height) I was given. I'd call the 10' Van a "Box Truck" so you're not calling everything a "Van". The person who rang me up answered my questions about vehicle height and had me thinking everything was right until I got there on the pickup day. Again, the "van" terminology had me thinking everything was fine. Rescheduling wasn't an option for me. I was able to make the taller van work, I just couldn't get into the underground parking that the shorter Cargo Van would've fit into, resulting in a longer moving distance from van to my place. Overall I'm satisfied, just a little disappointed I got the wrong size vehicle.

We were the only people in the store and it took 1 hr to get a trailer. I think Mike did not know any thing the equipment / trailers that were there of the sizes of them. They had all the trailer in the snow witch is unsafe to be picking them up in mike was not friendly at all. Dident know how to use his phone to do what ever he need to do on it I would never go back there again or tell someone to go there

Reservation was made for self delivery once it reached its destination, however when I tried to schedule pickup I was told I had to give 24 hour notice so that they could put the u-box on a trailer. This should have already been done as soon as it arrived and I shouldn't have had to wait an entire day for my U-box to be put on a trailer and strapped down. Incredibly slow service, not satisfied at all.

I had a long wait to pick up the truck. When I returned the truck after hours the app didn't work. The truck was due back at 11am sunday and I returned it 9:15pmon saturday I had to call corporate office because they were going to wait until after 11am to check it in. Now I have to call because they charged me a fuel surcharge when I returned it with more fuel then it came with. It needed 11/16th and it had 3/4 of a tank. I think the guy that runs this place is a scammer.

Pick-up Truck Rental: Cab was dirty and smelled. This vehicle had not been cleaned. Inside windshield was so dirty that I could not drive without stopping to clean it. Back-up camera was broken. Truck bed has 3" of snow in it. Back right tire had 8 psi at the time of pick-up. Picked up with only 1/4 tank of gas.

Due to the metal sides around the back we were not able to pick up the equipment we purchased because it is 58 inches wide and the trailer opening was only 57 inches. Trailer is listed as a 6 by 12. Very upset after we drove 75 miles one way to pickup and had to leave it there. Wasted a day, gas and rental fee. False advertising and disheartening

Luckily one of the workers was available to assist me with my reservation because the keys were not in the assigned drop box location (not one of the Truck Share ones). I also did not have the furniture pads (2) or dollies (2) in the truck which were requested with my reservation. Again, because the worker was there he was able to assist. He was very pleasant and friendly and helped with my frustration at the time, but had he not been there, this would've been a huge problem.

Truck inside cab was extremely dirty, attendee just gave me keys and didn't give me a walk through, they showed me that the truck was empty but that was it. I didn't realize until I left that the truck inside smelled like gas, it wasn't until I was inside a parked area with my items in the truck that it was very prevalent the smell of gas. I called and left a note with customer service. Overall very bad experience picking up the vehicle and I wasn't planning on having to spend my own money and time to clean the inside of the truck and to vacuum. Disappointing.

First trip in was to get the car separated from the truck. The man tere at the time wanted nothing to do with helping us and had a fit when I forced him to undo the trailer so I could drive the car off. When I returned the Truck, it was and excellent experience. Jose really took care of us and he had us completed very quickly. We have dealt with Jose several times on rentals and cannot say enough about how great a person he is to work with. UHALL needs more employees like him

An older gentleman was working on the night I returned the U-Haul truck (Saturday, Feb. 16th at 6:00pm), and when I put the keys in the return dropbox like the online return website told me to do he yelled through the front door of the store “WOAH, WOAH, WOAH!” So I entered the store and he begin to lash out at me and said, “The store is open right now, you need to walk the keys in!” I told him I was just following the instructions online. He said oh, ok. No apology for raising his voice at me. I was frightened and left. I cannot believe his behavior towards me. I was just doing what the U-Haul company told me to do online and the employee freaked out on me for this. I will never go back to that location again. At the very least I deserve an apology.

They only cleaned their bathrooms maybe once a month. They were nasty and out of soap and paper towels for a majority of the time I had my storage unit. Everything else was fine.
