ANN GInside of the windshield had to be cleaned before I could drive, someone tried to clean it with a dirty rag. A Tire was low on air, cab smelled like cigarette smoke. Lock on the back door was hard to enter the combination because it was wet. Bring a rag.

Two young gentlemen (I didn't get their names!) were quick, courteous and helpful. They did a great job getting the trailer checked back in at the last minute. MICHAEL GHad to all roadside assistance because the steering wheel locked and we could not start the car. It was extremely frustrating. Roadside assistance was excellent though. I feel that Uhaul should have comped me for something but nothing was offered.

Catherine G | First ImpressionsI rented a 6' x 12' trailer and it leaked. The boxes and items got wet in the front corner of the trailer. I explained it to the gentleman at the counter, then showed the gentleman who helped me unhook the trailer. The gentleman who helped me unhook the trailer acknowledged that there was leak, he said that I should go back inside and talk with the gentleman at the counter. What was the point of me going back inside when the gentleman at the counter basically disregarded me and didn't seem to care.

IRFAN AOur cargo shifted toward the back enroute and we had trouble opening it upon our arrival. We took it to the U-Haul drop off location and the manager helped us get it open and was very happy to do so. We brought it back empty later that day and got out of there ten minutes later. It was a much better experience than I expected.

LAWRENCE OAfter hours drop off was a problem because the U-Haul website wasn't functioning properly. This was not a problem from this individual location. I texted the after hours contact listed on a sign, but did not hear back from him for hours. I contacted the U-Haul general helpline, where I was assisted by a real person that solved the issue. Dropping off the vehicle did take at least 30 minutes because of the website issue.
MARK HThe plastic floor mat protector inside the front of the 20' truck was coated in Armour All. While this makes it look nice, my husband said it got on the bottom of his shoes and his foot would slip off the gas and brake pedals. This could create a dangerous situation, especially while braking.
TED TI could not get the app to work for after hour pick up and had to come back the other day. Tank was not full, but then i was asked if it was filled up.

Shane DEquipment was great. Loved the trailer ramp. The trailer pulled really well and was seated really well on my Ball. I ordered it online, and when I arrived, they were ready for me, had my paperwork ready and then hooked me up. I was in and out in 7-8 minutes. on my return, there was someone that directed me where to leave it, he unhooked me, checked me out, and this took less than 5 minutes.

Mark WWhy are 2 emergency contacts required? It seems to me that the contacts are not for what happens in an actual emergency, but who you can contact if I don't come back with my rental. Either we enter into a contract and we're both held accountable, or the transaction doesn't take place. Why am I doing an online check in when I have to go through the check in at the location also? (picture of front and back of license, emergency contact, contact information, card on file etc.) Why aren't there walk arounds done to make sure everything works properly with the equipment be rented? Check tires, wheels, doors, gates, locks, connections, is there anything left inside the trailer, truck etc? Employees were helpful and courteous. I think there could be some changes for efficiency and policy reviews.

MICHAEL R | Overall ExperienceWe had several bad experiences with the final cost as we were told several times we would not be charged an additional day if we returned the following day by midnight. That was not the case in reality so we filed a dispute and management was very understanding and gave us the refund in good faith. Jacob really understands customer satisfaction due to clerical error and got is the refund immediately. Overall, the wrong was corrected very professionally and they took note of the feedback to take corrective action so that their employees don't mislead the actual cost of renting and return time period. Highly recommend Jacob with his critically thinking and customer centric work ethics.

We moved cross country from Washington state to Wisconsin. 6 boxes fit most of our goods from a three bedroom home with large storage shed full of xmas stuff. They recommended 5, I new that was not enough, 7 would have been perfect. We don't have children but we have xmas, halloween, camping gear,grill,wheel barrel and such. The measurements are SMALLER in the inside due to the design. Odd they were designed that way as an average couch and such may not fit. We didn't take ours so it didn't matter. To many moving blankets! 24 in each unit. 1/4 of one box was filled with unused blankets! Don't lose them, they will charge you if you even miss one they told me. Delivery, pick up, storage, final delivery went great! Had to cancel delivery 2 times due to weather conditions, just call before the 48 hours and they just switched the date. All good there. Main storage building in Wisconsin was good, got our boxes out for us two times so we could get things out. Very nice people there. All in all I recommend the U-boxes. p.s. Not sure if paying 100.00+ a month for insurance was a bad idea, I called to cancel it and waited and looked for the code to be sent, they never did. I didn't press the issue as I found a house and was getting ready for final delivery. Still miffed about that.

STEVEN GThe one drawback is that it is a large, 2-story facility with one (1) freight elevator. Granted everyone is not moving in or out at the same time, but I arrived with movers on the clock to empty two larger units on the second floor, and the freight elevator was being repaired. This should not have happened. You need to have at least two freight elevators for a facility of that size so if one is in repair there is at least one working. The elevator was fixed within a short while. Nonetheless, you need two freight elevators for that facility. The service elevator, which we used for a few things was waaaaay too small to be a functional alternative. Otherwise, it was a great place to keep my things secure and dry.

It was a little sticky, but given that it was -5 with the windchill any kind of cleaning product wouldn’t have helped put the heater in the truck worked well and that more than made up for it. This cold it was a lifesaver today much needed, and appreciated the service at this location workers were friendly and knowledgeable and efficient given that I didn’t pre-order a truck very happy with the service part

GREGORY DTruck box was not clean. Dirt, mud on floor. We also had to hunt for our vehicle on the large parking lot. The counter clerk indicated it would be in one location, but then said that if it wasn't there, we would need to search for it. There were approximately 100 vehicles on the lot. It would have been nice to have important documentation presented at the counter, rather than texted to me — AFTER I was on the road with the vehicle.

Very friendly, professional, and responsive. On move in day Dylan helped us. While Dylan was nice and I understand it was only his 2nd time moving someone into storage, we were paying movers siding check in (I should have come earlier, I know) and I felt like he was a lot slower than necessary, on 2 occassions I was in the store both while there was a long line. Unprofessional chomping on gum and paying more attention to what his coworkers were talking about than the customer sitting in front of him. I’d like to make a suggestion for check out. If it’s feasible, it would be nice to have separate lines for supply checkouts, key drop offs etc vs setting up for U-Haul vehicles/storage. To have people waiting in line for 45 minutes to purchase a few packing supplies isn’t ideal.

The storage units and building was always clean and easily accessible. Their cleaning person I encountered was nice, considerate, and did a thorough job. She took pride in her work. I even got a phone call from the Uhaul team when my padlock was not on the door correctly. They were concerned my storage locker was not secure. I came back to Uhaul and they showed me how to lock my storage unit to make it more secure. All of my experiences with the Uhaul team were outstanding. The owner has a great team here. I highly recommend the Waukesha Uhaul location near Les Paul parkway & 164.

JARED T | First ImpressionsOne of the employees (name purposefully removed) was either new or didn’t care when renting the storage unit out. I requested a unit and said that i had a U-Haul truck. I knew from the website that I should get the first month free however when asked the U-Haul employee said that wasn’t true. In an effort to not argue I let it go. They proceeded with getting the unit set up, didn’t ask me to sign for the rentals agreement, if I needed a second key, what insurance to use (theirs or homeowners), and failed fully check out that unit from the system. After trying the key at the door it didn’t pop up with anything but we assumed that was normal for the location and opened the door to the unit. Instead the alarm went off both when it was opened it and closed. Nobody came to check and make sure anything was being stolen. Moral of the story is the U-Haul employee that isn’t well trained may cause you more issues than you expect. Thank goodness there was a second person on shift. They knew exactly what the other did wrong, what the storage area hours were and after an additional 30 minute wait, we able to get my unit figured out.

That unit can barely hold one room full of items. The website needs to be updated and the correct content approximations needs to be entered.
Jerome S | Online Move InMy furniture and other household belongings were at the Hwy 164 Waukesha location for 13 months. Everything was the same as it was the day it arrived there including my small freezer. I was worried because it was closed mold would develop or foul smell from moisture but neither happened. Also the furniture and other boxes were not covered in dust. This is truly a clean temperature controlled environment. The garage bays are very accessible and carts are right there. I would also like to say thank you to the kind hearted staff who was mopping and cleaning the day I struggled with my filled cart and the one elevator was busy with other movers. She directed me to the alternate elevator and helped me guide the cart on/off and then guided me back to the garage bay. She went over and above for me and I’m grateful. When I need storage in the future I will be back.

They have been with us for two cross-country moves with trailering vehicles and we used storage facilities for all our belongings for over two years. I have to mention every time I went to our storage units, the cleaning crew was there to keep this facility spotless. Was a pleasure to be in while dealing with our various circumstances. Never a problem. We found their prices are best for what you get. Will always move using U-Haul.

Uhaul is providing a free months rent on a storage locker to any family being displaced. We found out we will more than likely be able to get our furnishings out, and I went to Uhaul to rent a locker from the Waukesha (Hwy 164) dealer and Tina could not have been more accommodating, helpful and kind. The bathrooms were always out of paper and towels and the garbage was overflowing. When we asked about it they blamed it on not having any housekeeping staff. there is people living in their units and when you tell the staff they shrug it off. it says on the wall contact your manager if its over 80 which i notified them several times nothing being done and its 68 degrees in the office,. Im going to warn everyone what a horrible place this is, the floors are never swept, there was a sock in the hallway for 2 months its still there which proves the floors are never cleaned !!!! I rented 2 rooms acfross the street at public storage its much cleaner and a third of the cost.

Very pleased with the beautiful and modern facility, the convenient location, and the smooth transition to locate our furniture at this Uhaul Storage. Tim and his crew at Uhaul were extremely helpful in getting us settled into our storage unit. Tim talked us through all our concerns. We are confident we are being taken care of at a secure, clean, accommodating facility. We also were able to use their recommendations for movers to unload the truck, which only took an hour. The truck garages were fantastic for unloading with the outside temperature being in the teens. Also very happy about accessing our indoor heated unit at my leisure using the heated garages. All around, we are extremely pleased with our Uhaul adventure. Won’t hesitate to do it again.
