For me personally, the location alone makes this a winner. It's across the street from the starting point or destination of my twice annual snow thrower move. But, having said that, the staff is exceptional, and the selection of equipment is outstanding. I'll continue to use this U-Haul as long as I'm still an Illinoisan, which may not be much longer given the woeful governance. But when I do finally leave, I'll move my stuff with U-Haul. SUGGESTION: For loading and unloading support, U-haul might need to consider providing 'Automatic conveyor belt' facility (in the ladder provided with steps need to have conveyor belt ramp on one side and steps on the other side) to move goods to Upper level storage units for convenience.Suresh R. | First Impressions

The online process when picking up a van takes considerably longer than in person. I was left in 20F temperatures watching a screen refreshing for 7 minutes. It wasn't until I started trying to chat through my phone that anything happened.Sean G.

The pickup location was not the problem. The man at the pickup location was very helpful. However, we had a reservation at 8am to pickup our uhaul on Fullerton. We get to Fullerton and they tell us they can not get us our uhaul until the trailer is returned from another customer, which they said was supposed to be returned at 10am. So we drove back to our place to wait. Before heading back to Uhaul we call to confirm that the Uhaul is there. Their response is â€œYes I was just about to call you. It was just dropped offâ€ when we get there the Uhaul is apparently not available and they would not allow us to take any of the other trailers even though there were several. By this time it is 11. The manager, Mike, at this location was very rude and said that there was nothing he could do for us and walked away. Then they tell us the only way we can get a Uhaul is if we drive 45 minutes out of our way there and back. The only discount that I was given was $50 which seems way too low considering all of the hassle and rude workers that we had to deal with. This was a horrible experience.Michael V.

The cargo van operated as though it does not have 'All Weather' tires on it. It's terrible on ice....absolutely no traction. Had to be pulled off by a tow truck, from a slight incline that was ice covered.Cynthia P.

I did not even have the vehicle for 48 hours so I am unsure why I was charged for 3 days? I had also asked if I could put the charge on another card. I returned the vehicle late at night. I started calling first thing in the morning to ask about the switch of cards; there was no answer or message. I received a call back to be told I was too late the charge had been filed.Jane R.

The u haul who do the look for pick up place was not efficient, first they gave as pick up place in Northbrook IL I called him to find me the nearest pick up nest Vernon hills ( where we are ). He did not make any effort to look for one instead he says ni availability even though I said different dates. I call bavk probably after an hour a lady answered the phone and when I told her the situation she found right away at Libertyville IL for Sunday Oct 18, 2020 instead of Oct 17 where the pick up place is too far from my place . Sorry I didn't get her name nut she us so efficient and patience and very customer.Dom M.

we had been using a storage space at a different company. After seeing your facility we checked and found that we would pay less for a climate controlled space ! Moving in was wonderful! We were able to pull inside and unload, and they offered carts to facilitate moving large items. The spaces are all well lit and exceptionally clean and well maintained. I could not be happier with the move in experience. Courtney was very helpful and made sure we got into our unit. She also made sure I received credit for my free month for renting the UHaul trailer. My initial experience with checking in to my new unit left a bad taste in my mouth. The staff member assisting me was very friendly and helpful. Things started off a a bad foot with the master online reservation system allowing me to reserve a unit that was not physically available at the location I chose, more or less forcing me to accept a bigger unit for a higher cost. The attendant did not express a particularly high degree of confidence in the electronic capabilities of the security access card nor in the sturdiness of the individual alarm on the unit itself. There was also a conflict of what the unit access hours were, with the paper I was handed stating until 10 p.m. but the staff member saying only 7 p.m. There was also a mention of a $10 charge for after hours access, but that is listed nowhere in the contract. Next time provide me a truck that actually works reliably. The truck I had almost wouldn't start on the 2nd day. And on the third day it actually wouldn't start at the gas pump a mile from the return location. After trying to jump start the truck it finally did kick over and I was able to return it, but otherwise I was stuck block 2 gas pumps for what could have been hours . The rental location and the phone operator were little to no help in resolving this issue. If I had not had a friend following me to return the truck I could have been stuck for hours.Michael G.
