I rented the trailer and confirmed it was for Oakley ca (8mi away), then was texted to say it was in Livermore (38mi away) and when I called UHAUL confirmed my pickup time and location. When I got there I saw a trailer so I hooked up - the location doesn't open till 9am. The one person working seemed very upset to be working and told me I could not take the trailer and came over and literally yanked it off my rig and pushed it back into a pile of other trailers. When I called uhaul they said it was a reservation center mistake for booking it earlier than the location was open and I could not take the trailer. I planned the whole day of moving and was not only cut short 30min each way plus gas for getting the trailer in Livermore but the. Had to waste an hour and a half of not just my time but the packers as well since I was sitting in Livermore. This was the worst experience ever and uhaul will be the last place I rent from going forward and I will post this story to social media and the uhaul site as people need to knowRichard M.

I picked this location specifically because I could do a pick up time of 8am. When I got there a little after 8, the worker told me they don't open until 9. I told him I had a u haul reserved at 8, and he just said again, very dryly, â€œwe open at 9.â€ So I had to come back an hour later. So I'm wondering why I was even able to make a reservation for 8â€¦ I would've picked up at a location closer to my house.NICOLAS F.

Your online purchase of products that are not associated to rentals prove to be a very confusing transaction since customer service will call and change a location for pick up and the original purchase from the online store stays at the original pick up at which point you were having to travel to two locations and possibly not be able to tow your trailer because the product stayed at the other location. I had to drive 3 hours out of my way and $62 worth of gas later. Made fir a very frustrating experienceDarlene S.

Truck only had 1/4 tank gas so I had to fill it soon after picking it up. When I brought it back they said they would check mileage and bill me. Thank God I checked the mileage because later that night I got the invoice emailed to me and it was over 3 times what it should have been. They wrote in the wrong number for mileage. I waited over an hour on telephone hold and gave up. Tried the next morning and no answer even on national phone number. Drove all the way back to get in line and the lady was able to credit me back. I will be triple checking my next Visa bill to see if they followed through with the correct amounts. VERY Disappointing. Not happy and no compensation for lost time and inconvenience.Steven C.

There was one person working when I arrived which meant I had to wait in line for about 15 or 20 minutes. My husbands and sons had to wait about 30 minutes for the whole process before they could start moving our furniture into the unit. As we’re moving, the clerk reminds me that we will not have access after the office closes, although the confirmation I received and your website list access as available until 10pm. Then, when we were done, we could not get the lock on the door. The process of renting a truck online was extremely easy. The hardest part was trying to decide what size I needed. When I went to pick it up, it was ready to go. My ONLY complaint...and this is nit picky...was that the truck looked like it hadn't been washed in a while. Still, the inside was spotless. Will rent there again.Michael M.

Livermore location was excellent but the Tracy Avila location was horrible. I had made reservations and had a confirmation email and when I went to pick up the moving truck they stated that I had canceled my reservation. Now why would I cancel my reservation when I have movers ready and I have a confirmed check in for that day and I have no email or text about any cancellations. I even had checked in and it was stated that my truck was ready for pick up. I had to drive all the way to livermore and arrange for another pick up. I ended up losing a lot of money on paying movers while they waited 3 hours and I ended up driving all the way to Livermore to pick up another truck and also had to drive the truck back and pay the additional 50 miles fee. I've learnt that you can't trust the private locations but only trust the uhaul official stores.Hamed Z.
Customer service was great. However I wish the service tech would have given me a headsup. I initially wanted the 5x utility trailer with ramp however after talking to the manager I rented a 6x9 utility trailer with ramp for my motorcycle. The width of my motorcycle was 5 feet. When I drove the trailer after 1.5 hours to my destination I found out the opening was less than 5 feet. That was horrible. I was not able to load my motorcycle into the trailer. Ended up not picking up the bike and still trying to figure out a solution. Will definitely looks elsewhere.Jose G.

I was charged for 2 gallons of gas although I only drive it for less than 12 miles and the attendant told me I'd be charged for1 gallon. I'll do everything I can to avoid renting from uhaul going forward because the extra dollars unnecessarily charged to me left me with a bitter taste and negated the positive experience I had expected. When returning equipment there was not enough room to park the truck in the return line. The back end of the truck I rented was over the side walk and blocking half of a lane in the road. When sharing my concern with the employees they brushed me off and were rude and short tempered with me. I asked if they could check my truck in or at last move the other trucks up so I could park it on the property. They said they were busy again aggressively and said I could leave. I had to wait for them to move the trucks which took an additional 30 minutes. There weren't any other costumers so I have no clue why I was treated this way.Lawrence J.
