The location KNOWINGLY (admitted as such upon return of vehicle) issued a truck with engines issues. The truck repeatedly DIED while driving, thus putting both of my employees lives at risk. My employees brought the engine issues to management while returning the vehicle and the staff admitted that they knew the truck had issues when the gave it to my employees - and, DID NOT share that issue nor offer another vehicle. TERRRIBLE business practice. When my employee asked for a discount due to the additional time delays with dealing with the truck issues as well as the stress it cause - they were told that someone call the me (the owner) - but NO ONE has. Despite the customer service aspect, and constant increases to the monthly rates, we loved this facility. Customers should have what they reserve at the nearest location. I reserved a tow trailer and had to drive 30 miles to pick it up and additional 30 miles to return to the same place. I think if a customer has to go 30 miles out of his way to pick up what he rents. Should at least be able to return it to the nearest uhaul rental storeJesseB C.

Consider hiring more than one rep or increasing the pay of the current representative. He was very knowledgeable, but when there was more than one customer at a time others were experiencing longer wait times. I was very understanding as I understood that he's only one person. However, there should be 2 people at that location so that it's not overwhelming for one person. The rep was very nice and double checked all of the equipment to make sure it was good to go. Overall I don't have anything bad to say, just a light suggestion on hiring.amanda W.

When you schedule for pick up at one location. Don't change pick up location two times! And expect someone to pay the extra milage and inconvenience someone. I will not be paying the extra milage. The mobile app check-in process was not working for me so I had to do it at the counter with a customer rep, who did a great job. It seemed that the facility was trying to encourage using the automated (mobile app) check-in even though (for my experience) it wasn't fully functional. My suggestion would be to provide some overlap (i.e., the option to choose) between mobile check-in and check-in at the counter; at least until all the bugs are worked out of the app.Phillip H.

UHAUL Reference #2395521 We rented an auto transport # AT4542Y 02571R-MS from the dealer at 150 Vulcan Drive, Lompoc, CA. All was well picking up the trailer and putting our vehicle onto it. We took off Monday AM, June 6, 2022 headed for Bremerton, WA. We stayed the night in Sacramento and took off from there early Tuesday AM June 7, 2022. About an hour after we took off John noticed in the side mirror that something was smoking on the trailer so he pulled over on the CA I-5 Exit# 575 at Husted Road, Williams, CA. John checked out the trailer and saw that the front right wheel was at a severe angel and the tire had blown out due to rubbing on the inside of the fender. The trailer was no longer safe to transport. Around 9:30AM we called the 800 UHAUL number to get help and further instructions. We were given a reference # and told that someone would be calling us back within the hour. We spoke to several UHAUL associates and by 11:20am we received a call from Ariel stating that they have located a trailer in "Lower Lake, CA". She asked if we could drive there to get the replacement trailer. John explained to her that the trailer could not be driven as is. At 11:33am We called UHAUL back and left a message for a call back. Ariel returned our call right away. She said they can not bring a trailer to us! She said she would check again to have it towed to us. We were also instructed to text Ariel @ 84285 if we had any needs. At some point John tried to tell Ariel that we were 1 hour north of Sacramento, CA which is a large city and there should be a trailer there for us. We found out that Ariel was calling from Phoenix. AZ and did not even realize that we were in California! At 12:08PM we received another call from Ariel stating that they got ahold of Randy's Towing out of Yuba City and that he would drive to "Lower Lake" to pick up the trailer and bring it to us. We then received a call from Randy's Towing stating how long it would take him to drive to Lower Lake to retrieve a trailer and to bring it to us. It would have been at least another 5-6 hours sitting on the side of the CA I-5 in 92 degree heat! Randy did not want to do that so he said he thought there was a trailer in Yuba City and he would call us back. At 1:29PM we received a call from Randy stating that he found a trailer and would bring it to us as soon as possible. Randy arrived around 2PM. John had already removed the vehicle from the UHAUL trailer and disconnected the trailer from our Motor Home and moved both vehicles away from the UHAUL, per Randy's request to expedite the switching of trailers. When Randy arrived he dropped off the replacement trailer # AT4700Y. Randy proceeded to the damaged trailer and had to remove the wheel and fix it so he could tow it safely back to Yuba City. He discovered that the bearings were burned up due to lack of lubrication In the mean time John connected the new trailer to the Motor Home and secured our vehicle to the replacement trailer. We thanked Randy for his consideration on us being held up in the heat for so long and for making a longer stay much shorter. I think we were able to be back on the road around 3pm. The issue here is that this could have been a far worse situation than it was. We are so thankful that no one was hurt and none of our vehicles were damaged. It seems that the UHAUL trailer was not properly maintained and therefore a great problem arose. We spent a lot of money to rent this trailer and even purchased the UHAUL insurance. UHAUL has been around for a long time, a name we thought we could trust. Although all of the UHAUL associates were very kind, concerned and helpful we were disappointed in the way the call was handled as it seemed as they didn't know how to handle this type of situation and the lack of maintenance of the equipment. After giving them information about where we were they did not even know where we were located in relation to where they wanted us to travel. We were also disappointed with what appeared to be a lack of maintenance causing bearings to burn out. I reserved a transport trailer for a move several weeks in advance only to get a phone call a few days prior saying that there isn't actually going to be one of those trailers for 100 miles from that location. For two days I was frantically trying to find another trailer until one of your employees in LA fixed the problem but man for 48 hours that was stressful. I had to move away and needed that trailer to do it. If a customer places a reservation then make sure the reserved equipment is actually going to be there, please. On another later visit, the guy working there literally do not know how to ring up items in the store. I was actually going to purchase a dolly, a whole bunch of boxes, etc but the guy spent 20 minutes searching on the computer trying to figure out how to create the invoice. I gave up and left with none of the items and went to walmart instead. I did still wind up buying a ton of boxes from that uhaul location later when a different staff member was there. However just before moving I went back with the extra boxes to sell back and the guy working there that day (different guy) didn't know how to do that. Overall, I'd say there was a 50% chance an employee at this location actually knew the bare minimum to function at their job.David R.

Actually, go by the meter of how many miles they were before leaving and how many were there on return and not by how many mile the car will have upon driving based on the gas it has and how many miles are give base on driving. I only used the van for 16 miles and put one gallon of gas based on how much i drove and the range of the van per gallon and still got charged $20 because the gas meter said it had 340 miles and i brought it back at 310 Miles even though i drove it for 16 miles and put one gallon upon return this seems shady,JASON O.

Automatic doors that do not work consistently and require you to pull open/push closed by hand—leaving the unit areas unsecured and when staff are notified the only response is “we don’t know why it does that”. Never have a ever had such a bad experience. Manager is not interested in being a manager and based on her level of professionalism it shows. I just can’t believe this place is allowed to be ran like this. PEOPLE LIVING AT THE UNITS!!!!! I have rented Uhaul storage before in way worse areas and didn’t feel as unsafe and scared as I did here. After a month and having to call her and customer service multiple times, wait on hold for hours, my issue was finally resolved. Not because the manager wanted me to have a good experience, but because she was forced to deal with my issue because I called again. When we spoke she couldn’t even take responsibility for the condition of her location, she just blamed the employee for why she hasn’t reached out to me or why the area was so bad. Be a adult and do your job it’s not the hard. I promise. I found an amazing and safe storage in Goleta. $50 more, but worth it to feel safe and not scared.
