The Uhaul location branch 1613 34th St, Lubbock, TX 79411 where i was serviced overcharged my account with services costing over 56.51 dollars which i was charged additional $22.08 for un-necessary fuel fees.

My money has been held for eight days and counting. I’ve called twice about this with no help and confirmed with my bank we are still waiting for the final amount from merchant. The first time I called because I had a feeling there was going to be an issue since the employee helping us was smoking a cigarette while completing our order. The second time I called the lady was very helpful but all she could do was email the manager, whom I still haven’t heard from nor action been taken. Our original contract was given to us with the wrong truck, our new truck had no dolly, very disorganized.

There is this worker whose name start with Ja, who checked the van when I dropped it off. Actually he is a nice guy but the issue j had with him was he actually smoking and attending to me as a customer. I see this very unprofessional. Am asthmatic.

Apart from the environmental fee charge, everything was excellent. I’m not sure why they charge this fee when their trucks use gasoline. I would have no problem if their truck are electric powered or use other source of renewable energy. I hereby conclude that this fee is a rip-off.

The 26' truck had dim headlights, balding tires, the driver side window allowed air to shunt inside like a jet engine, and the truck has almost nonexistent shocks. We had a 1400 mile trip and are lucky we made it alive. Thank you to the group working in Lubbock on 34th and Q, the morning of the 26th of December. You made a great choice to put someone in a truck in that condition for those many miles.

They had equipment blocking the return lane which made getting a 26 foot truck in difficult. Once inside there was a customer waiting for her truck that she reserved and they didn't have it. They didn't even have any vehicle for her. Our truck was checked in quickly but then we were asked to pay extra because we were 7 miles over. Again this drop of location was not the one I booked on my reservation and it was an extra 9 miles away. She rolled her eyes at me but eventually took the charges off. Then when trying to leave we were blocked in because employee s were having customers park in the only exit lane to purchase it looked like propane.

My only complain was that the truck I originally requested 2 months in advance was not available in all of Lubbock - this had nothing to do with the UHaul Store, it was corporate UHaul - disappointed, but made the Uhaul store on 34th made everything great. I really appreciated that!

1. The equipment I reserved was not available. 2. The equipment I ultimately received was filthy. 3. I received nothing but excuses as to why equipment was not available and filthy. My suggestions for improvement would be to make things right like they should be rather then make excuses. Actions speak louder then words.

Reserved a 10 foot truck, and they changed it to 15 foot (more cost for gas and not what I wanted). Arrived at location and they initially tried to give me the 15 foot only to find out they already leased it to someone else. So they put me in a 17 footer - even more gas costs!! I drive 600 miles and get to Tucson only to find out they used the wrong mileage for the 17 footer. They showed it at 13,000 miles when it was 130,000 miles. So when I went to drop off the truck and the online uhaul.com wanted to charge me $49,000 for 117,000 additional mileage i didn't drive. This also necessitated going 2 different drop off locations. I think some kind of credit would be appropriate for all i went thru.

Friendli customer service. Upon having a conversation with my spouse we decided to request insurance after picking up the vehicle. Called the facility, UHaul location in Lubbock, back within 30 minutes. Calling the facility directly I was transferred to the call center which in turn I held on for numerous minutes and eventually hung up by the call center. Spouse called the U-Haul Lubbock location multiple times but never received a call back. Conversations on the line with the call center were also very unproductive regarding the insurance request. Representative stated that we were stuck with a vehicle without insurance and they were just going to have to live with what we made our initial decision on. Upon further conversation and having to read Drive the vehicle back the next morning, we were granted insurance but only after multiple negotiations with the manager. Not only did they try to charge us additional days usage fee but taxes etcetera, but that our conversation with the manager at the U-Haul location Lubbock took a great deal of time to finally bring about a successful resolution to our problem. The request to have insurance on the vehicle. Very unpleasant experience. Concern about the vehicle which made noises in the engine when running. Was driving a vehicle across Texas with limited cell service and had concerns about the vehicle. There was concern all along the way in regards to the vehicle.

Last 2 rentals there has been problems with them entering correct millage. I used 12 miles and when we finished, it showed 99 miles. The second time they showed the gas was over 1/2 but was actually 1/2. Make sure you check the mileage and gas from what they put on paper. Also make sure you check the rental for damage before use. There was a couple of large black scratches on the fender that the guy who inspected it claimed he did not see. If I had not checked I probably would have been charged. I've used them many times but lately they seem to have some dishonest people, so may very close attention.

People who run the place are friendly and helpful. Called in my reservation to the national reservation people quoted me a lower price than it should be. They said that happens often and they would honor the same price as what I was quoted. They didn't have to do that on a mistake the booking people made, but did. In the future I will go directly to them to assure that the price they quoted is what I will be looking at. Zachariah, the manager is really a honest guy seems like that goes the extra mile to take care of his customers that were quoted the wrong price by the National booking system.

I was there for 1.5 hours- the guy at the cash register, Tae was excellent. The guy who was supposed to meet me outside was not so much. At one point, he had forgotten about me and after waiting on him for 25 minutes, I went inside(this was after calling to remind them I was outside wIaiting) and he was sitting behind a desk, chatting it up with a friend. He admitted he forgot about me. When you are dealing with a stranded college age student and crazy circumstances like we were, this was not acceptable.

Traveled just 15 miles and your guys wanted $14 on the gas. I put in two gallons, so I guess your trucks get pretty lousy mileage. Next time, rather than taking a guess at the gauge at less than full tank, they should rent the trucks with a full tank. Then it won't be so hard.

We were not sure of our time to pick up the truck. We gave an estimate, not realizing how closely you go by the time. It turned out that we didn't pick up the truck as early as contracted. If we had not heard the phone (as happens some times) our contract would have been cancelled. You might make that clear to users, as we did not realize the need to be so definite in setting time to pick up truck. People at the Lubbock place were soooo helpful!

The truck was clean. However when I was driving a roach crawled from the center of the dash headed toward the sterring wheel. My heart was racing scared the crap out of me. I left the hood at age 16 because Im afraid of roaches. So it was unpleasant to be surprised by one coming out of the dash of my uhaul.

When the U-Box left my house, it was delivered with the protective cover. But when it arrived at my apartment - in the pouring rain - it was just the plywood box, no cover. Needless to say, things near the door were wet where it had leaked. When I called the pick up location, the guy told me they did not have enough covers for all the boxes and those are only for in transit. So buyer beware - apparently they don't care once it arrives at the pick up space.

I reserved the trailer using my debit card. When I did this I explained what kind of card it was. I was told it would work. When I got there to pick up the trailer I was told I would have to go get cash which cost me more. A little frustrating.

Just a note. The small truck really did use a lot of gas. I think something was not correct. I calculated gas mileage at an average of about 7 miles per gallon.

Place was really busy ! Older gentleman checking in was trying with to deal with some people that did not have much if any common sense. Never got frazzled and was friendly ! Another lady customer and I were patient and just shook our heads . The customer service at this location was outstanding!! This was my first uhaul experience and the staff was very helpful and made everything really easy. I forget the gentleman's first name, but his last name is Knight - This guy was awesome!

There were signs directing me to the drop of location but no personnel or signage telling me what to do when I got there. After waiting and being ignored by one employee on the lot I went across the lot to the store where I was eventually chastised for not staying with the equipment I was returning. When I told the employee that I had waited, no one came and there were no signs telling me to stay there he snapped back "there's only room for so much on a sign". The location needs better signage and new, better trained employees.

I made my reservation weeks ago for a 26' foot truck, a dozen furniture pads and an appliance dolly w/ straps. I called the location the day before my pick up date to confirm that all of the equipment woukd be available. I was assured it would be. When I arrived they did not have a dolly avaialble. I had to wait 45 min for them to locate one. Then I had to drive to pick it up! My starting move time was delayed by over an hour. When I returned the truck, I informed the staff that I did not end up using any of the furniture pads and I asked for a credit. I was told they do not issue credit for those items regardless if I used them or not. The next day I was charged an additional $20 for mileage use. I called and had them remove 10 miles from the total for having to drive to pick up the dolly. I have used this location several times and have always been pleased. But this time I was frustrated and bewildered at the lack of customer service. I highly doubt I will use this location in the future.

First stopped to unload my vehicle and trailer, had to do it by myself with no assistance than waited 20 minutes before someone came over to accept trailer. Second stop to drop off 15ft truck, the line for pickup and return filled the lot and went into the street. Asked an associate if I could do self drop, they said no I had to wait. Went inside and stood in line for 45 minutes, finally got assistance from a young female, she was great, apologized for the wait and got the truck checked in within 2 minutes. Do not understand why the store was so severely understaffed on move in weekend.

The manager is scammer . He did bad job to my trailer one day and shorted out the electric on my Tahoe and charged my card twice, each with different rates. And I told this idiot not to charge my card, that I would pay cash but he did it anyway. I found rotten fruit between the seats and a dirty diaper as well. Really nasty. The manager is short tempered with customers and his employees. He seems like he doesn't care about customer service.

Couldn't find someone to take the trailer rental for return on the premises. Finally located a person, he unhitched us and said we were good. When we walked off to get into our car, the second person called us over and said we needed to fold all the blankets we returned (which were more than we rented as I had them protecting furniture in storage). He said he would charge us a fee if we didn't fold the blankets. He didn't do this to the man that returned his trailer with unfolded blankets. Sexism - discrimination. Not legal, and not appreciated. But I folded them because I wouldn't be able to dispute the extra charge without proof.

LWhen it was returned in Lubbock my fiancé left his wallet in the truck and the guy that parked it (was in the truck alone for maybe 2 minutes) to park it. When my fiancé went out there to get his wallet out of the truck it was gone. So, you have a dishonest employee working for you. Uhaul needs to quit redirecting calls to call centers. Most people at call centers do not know what they are doing and fumble around. I was not impressed with their lack of knowledge. Each person I reach tells me that I need to talk to another person and transfers me elsewhere. If people are going to work for a company they ought to know all about it. If you cannot manage to handle customers appropriately, do not work for the company. It is that simple. Some people sound like they do not want to be there when they answer the phone. I tell them what I need to do and they are lie all...right...what do you mean by that? Not acceptable.

I'm not rating just this location, just my over all feel of what happen. Just from my point of view, I feel it's not a good experience to make a customer go to one place to pick up a truck, then go to another place to pick up a car tow. That is the experience is what I am rating. The 1613 34th location did no see in to much of a rush to get the tow unit on the truck. We had to change one tow unit out for a different and that took more time. I was told I could drop the truck off anywhere near the location I was going. I was then called to go to a location in Frisco to drop it off. All said in done the Over All experience was bad and more stress then it should have been.

The truck bed was not swept out. It was so dirty that we had to tape down a plastic liner to keep our stuff clean. The blankets were full of twigs, dead bugs and leaves. These were folded and inside the plastic bag. Are they ever washed? The front tires of the truck were very worn. Fortunately it was just a local move.

During peak hours, like on a Saturday morning, have more than one person working the front counter. I was at the location 2 Saturday mornings in a row. The first for my truck to receive a pre-trip hitch inspection and the other to return a trailer. Both times the location was extremely busy and only one person working the counter. That is the only reason the location did not get an excellent rating from me. All the employees, and the Manager, were extremely friendly, helpful and polite. I will use this location again if the need arises.

I would say that if you want to stay in business as a moving company you need to fix your reservation process your program sucks!!!! I reserved a truck and went to pick it up and was told you did not have a reserved truck I had the confirmation number and was told that was not your number so I went home 189 miles with out a truck so now I reserved a truck for the next weekend get you paper with a number on it you call me on Monday and tell me that my truck will be ready the next day again I say no it is four Saturday 1 July I read the number to you and you tell me that your only working Monday and Tuesday schedule I asked why did you call me then. Now you call me on Thursday and tell me I can't have the truck size I requested then on Friday 31 June you call me and ask me what time a. I picking up my truck I say on Saturday 1 July and you tell me that I don't have a truck scheduled for Saturday 1JULY I SAY I HAD BETTER you tell me to calm down how can a person calm down when you are given the information face to face and you screw it all up I will say this it will be a cold day in hell before I ever come to Uhaul again

Seal around driver's door was sagging. Called because transmission was not shifting correctly. Was offered roadside service but we were already at one of our destinations. Requested a call back from individual that handled the rental. Never heard back from him. A relative showed me how to disengage the heavy load towing and the transmission worked fine. Someone had smoked in the vehicle I rented and it was not pleasant. I told them I would probably only take a couple hours and that's the time they put on the contract. I thought rentals were per day. When I told the lady that checked me in that I didn't want to be held to that amount of time, she rolled her eyes at me.

The store literally tried to cancel a prepayed order, at the tine of pick up simply because I used foul language on his store??!! My aunt who had ordered the u haul for HER needs was refused the vehicle despite the reservation due to a personal disagreement between him and I. That is in no way good business practice

I chose to use U-haul because the store I wanted to deliver charged $60. An associate there suggested I rent a vehicle. The vehicle I chose listed at $29, so I thought I was going to save over half the cost. When fees like gas and mileage and of course tax were added in, my price was more than $80. I would have done better to just let the institution deliver my goods. The vehicle had lots of dings but did ride well and got the job done.

I rented a 20' van and a tow dolly. I KNOW I should have read every sticker on the tow dolly or read up on it somewhere else, but the two UHaul personnel that helped me did NOT tell me NOT to ever back up with a tow dolly attached. No damage was done to the car (I hope) but I did back up once and THEN I saw the sticker about not backing up. UHAUL PERSONNEL SHOULD ADVISE THAT ANYTIME ANYONE RENTS A TOW DOLLY!!! Other than that, the UHaul personnel were polite, friendly, and totally professional.

We also had to work at a pace that was grueling because the truck had to returned the next day instead of the 2 day rental I had originally planned for. (This is not a local store problem but a national dispatch problem, the local store was the best experience I have ever had with U-Haul!) I have yet to use U-Haul and actually get the equipment that I confirmed. This time I confirmed a 26 foot truck only to get a call the day before stating that I would get a 20 foot truck or need to make an 80 mile round trip drive to pick up the 26 foot truck at another location on my already tight moving date. We chose the 20 foot truck due to time and did not have enough room, now we will be making another trip across the state to get the rest of our stuff at a later date. Manager does not hold up his end of an arrangement he made. His employees told my son he needed to pay for the Uhaul insurance, which he did not, and when I disputed this issue, I was told that my son did not read the entire contract. After me arguing my dispute for 20 minutes, he said he was getting no where and he would honor the free dolly and moving pads and remove the $42 charge for insurance. I am waiting to make sure this happens; otherwise, will dispute with American Express.

A deep cleaning of the cab of the 26' truck I used would be helpful! The drink holders had spilled, dried-out residue in it, the floors NEXT to the edges of the the seat and console had some sort of residue on the floor, and there was a partial piece of the paper from a straw in one of the drink holders... Overall the cab was okay, but I really didn't want to touch anything but the steering wheel, radio button, and A/C switch...

Make sure the fuel level is correct. There was less fuel in the truck than what the contract had. After checking the truck, there was 3/8 full and the contract showed that the truck was supposed to have half a tank. Lubbock Uhaul lied to me about my rate. I initially rented a 6x12 trailer for a day. I called and talked with a lady about extending the rental and dropping it off in Spring TX. Our other 26ft rental couldn't hold all our household belongings. When I returned to Spring a $286 extra fee was charged. I called Lubbock uhaul and they told me verbal changes don't apply only written contract are valued. I was mislead. When I called about the change I offered to change trailers If needed. I actually went to that location 2 other times to pick up boxes and auto transporter. They should have told me I needed a new contract or get hit a large fee. Very disappointed in ability to communicate professionally. Why wouldn't I have signed a new contract to save $286.

Truck had a broken windshield, passenger's door lock was bent, steering wheel would move 2-3" either way without turning the wheels. Needs some serious steering maintenance. This made driving a real chore. Need cruise control for long trips. Gas mileage driving 65 mph was terrible for a lightly loaded truck at 10 mpg. Will use Penske next time.
