Both times I was at this location there was a line of people waiting to be helped. It was very aggravating and painfully slow.
james bridgesThe location I picked up from was great, the employees were all really friendly. My problem is with U-Haul and their website. It’s the dumbest thing that it allows you to select rentals of stuff they don’t have. First I tried to rent from a different location. That was actually near me, and instead got routed to this location that is twelve miles away instead of three. Then, I can’t get the size truck I wanted either. So I decide both of those things are still workable and it’s fine. Then I show up in person and get told there are no rental dollys. Already nothing worked out the way I needed and instead of knowing this when I made my reservation and being able to make a reservation with a different company or find someone to borrow one from, I had to just stick it out because I was already in the middle of picking up the truck on a busy day for the employees. If I could make the choices again with all of the information available I wouldn’t have rented from U-Haul at all. So maybe that’s why the website doesn’t tell you when they’re out.

I had tons of issues with a tow hitch installed from a different location and what mistakes could have put my life and my children’s life at danger were caught by Zack and Katina. Not only did they catch the issues from the other company’s bad install, but Katina went WELL out of her way to make sure that not only would my family have a safe drive back to Washington state by fixing the issues, but Katina stayed late after closing to make sure we could leave by morning as we needed to leave Lubbock ASAP. I will never forget the compassion, understanding, and caring Katina showed me. I am thankful that Zack caught the issue and brought it to Katina’s attention. Zack, Jackson, and Katina are such a blessing to the customers and community of Lubbock. All 3 of them showed me nothing but kindness and compassion. I can only hope that all the U-Haul locations have employees as stellar as they are.

Trailer wiring was damaged so we had to switch trailers after already hooking up. Employee pulled wiring off and just walked away without saying what the problem was. Returned several minutes laterwith 6 wiring pieces and connected to another trailer. Still not speaking. I asked if I should move truck to the other trailer and he nodded yes. Did not help with directions to back up. Entire ground was covered with nails, screws , pieces of wire , broken drill bits and welding rods. These potential tire hazards to vehicles and trailers are a sure legal liability to Uhaul.

Bill went from “$60” to extend use of the truck by 3 hours to all of a sudden I was charged an entire extra day, and entire extra day for insurance, was accused of not having gas. Will NEVER use U-Haul again after all of the lies and hidden fees. One angry customer doesn't make a difference, but complete bullshit and paid way more than needed. Thanks for fucking over my move. Worst company I have ever used.

Now understand folks It takes up to a week for the payment to be reversed. Other than that it's the only place I will put my storage in.

And it wasn't no $20 charge they charged me way more than 20 bucks. The next morning the parking brake was stuck and I had to call the corporate office because they don't answer their phone at the 34th location, and I literally had to fix the truck myself because it was taking way too long and I'm already late. Poor customer service, overcharged me 100$ and the insurance diddnt cover anything after the dang thing got stolen from me. So now all my stuff is gone, I owe uhaul 1000$. They won't get their money from me. In fact, they owe me for the repairs I did to their unreliable equipment DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!

Had not had time to clean the truck and utility dolly wasn’t loaded and she wanted to see my email confirmation instead of accepting the mobile pick up document. It’s was around 4:40 by time I got off the lot

This process was very time consuming and almost all of it could have been completed online when I set up my reservation so all I needed to do when arriving was to present my ID and pick the trailer up.

First time renting from them, probably the last. Will find another location to rent from if I need it again.

Eventually, the brake warning lights came on and there were warning that stability control and traction (maybe) were inoperable. I slowed down and drove the truck back to the shop as soon as I finished moving a sofa. Also, my original reservation was for the same equipment at a different location. I was told when I called after reaervinonline that the equipment was in fact not available. I’m glad a different location was able to accommodate but the change was made without my knowledge. It increased the mileage of my overall trip but not enough to bring it up. It was more the inconvenience of having to arrange a ride to a location further than the original reservation.

Jerry ButlerThe truck, the rental, the equipment, all that was fine. Everything went smoothly until when we turned the truck in and my husband accidentally left his backpack behind the driver's seat. We must have stood there and visited for at least 10min with the guy cleaning and vacuuming out the truck we just turned in, yet it wasn't until we made it home that we realized the backpack didn't make it home with us. Immediately we began calling the Uhaul on 34th and Ave Q to retrieve the backpack and was told that just in that short amount of time the unit had been rented back out and the guy who cleaned it knew nothing. We refused to accept this and surprise of all surprises, when the camera footage was searched the backpack made a stunning re-emergence weighing much less than when it went missing. Kudos to Sal who took our call, took the time to listen, took the situation seriously, and made it right. Thank you Sal. We truly appreciate you and your efforts and hope that the Uhaul company will surround themselves with quality employees such as yourself and rid themselves of the substandard sticky-fingered liability in the mix who caused this highly embarrassing scenario for the Uhaul brand.

Was told I couldn’t get the refund of the price difference since the dolly is cheaper. It is now just before closing. Drove home only to find out one of the tow straps was to short due to damage and couldn’t ratchet the strap down to secure our vehicle. It is now after business hours and our move is delayed one day. Return next morning and finally get a working dolly and off we go.

John BuchananThe first person we met may have been on his first day on the job. Even with an order confirmation number, he could not find our reservation. The second person told us they didn't have a trailer for us at this location despite having a reservation and we should go look for one on the outskirts of town. Finally, Sal? came to the front and told us he found the reservation and it simply wasn't assigned. When he told person 2 to get the blankets and dolly included in our reservation, she said they didn't have either. He found the blankets, but there was no dolly available. This was especially frustrating because we OWN a dolly, but I left it at our house near Austin. This was a similar experience the LAST time we rented as well.

It was their fault they had me sign a contract to a unit that was never available to begin with and now saying I owe 900 dollars! Smh

El metal de la llave es muy blando, incluso el cilindro donde se intoduce la llave no giraba suave cada que abría y cerraba. De hecho tuve que cortar el candado con mi herramienta ya que se quebró la llave y la mitad de ella quedo dentro del cilindro. Y por consiguiente lo reemplace por otro nuevo de diferente marca. Los exhorto a adquirir candados y llaves de alta calidad, y solidos. De ahí en fuera todo estuvo bien! Gracias y buenas vibras!

Then the owner was incredibly rude and argued with me over whether I had a reservation even after I produced the receipt! This move was a nightmare and u-haul didn’t help. While preparing to leave Kansas our car dolly was unavailable (reserved weeks in advance), so we had to make a return trip to get our car. An 8.5 hour drive both ways to pick a dolly and get our project car home! Because of the disorganization of your business it cost us an additional $1000 dollars to move in unexpected gas, hotel, and storage costs! Very unhappy with u-haul and will seek alternatives in the future. The location in Texas did finally get us storage for the free month we earned for the large long distance rental, but instead of the extra large unit we reserved IN ADVANCE we received 2-8x8 units and were barely able to cram everything in. Maybe corporate should step down and manage these franchises more closely. Moving is stressful enough no extra hassle needs to added.

Like seriously hire someone to answer calls or invest in a decent voicemail. All 4 loading and unloading carts were missing. When I asked someone for help they took me to the back of the facility and made me drag the cart back to the entrance. Turns out uhaul staff were using it to do maintenance and repair. They only gave me one cart. The remaining 3 carts were not put back for the next three days. I was told that I should get a free uhaul lock. Never received that.

Checking in was horrible, whoever helped me was rude, didn’t help at all, didn’t explain anything! After the initial showing up, returning my rental $600 you would think they would be courteous and helpful but it was the opposite! The storage unit itself is way overpriced for what we got, and in poor shape. Chandler at the end was the really only good point. And the actual pick up of the rental in Austin ATX. They were very nice and helpful. We’ve used u haul many times, paid a lot of money to them. Whoever helped me check in to our storage unit should not be there if they don’t want to!

Brenda Lathan | Overall ExperienceWe have stored our college student's belongings at U-Haul every summer. This year, we stored longer due to leaving early because of the Pandemic. Move-in was very easy. Move-out was delayed when we discovered a small number of "baby" roaches crawling around some our boxes and seeming to come from a neighboring unit. I believe the roaches were a new addition in our 5 month of storing items. Just beware that while U-Haul does all it can (spraying for bugs, etc.), storage neighbors may not be as conscientious or even aware they have a pest problem. Our move-out took an extra hour and a half since we went through everything thoroughly looking for "baby" roaches and repacking in vacuum zipper bags.

The first employee who helped me, could not figure out the computer system. I had to give personal information, and list references for the employee, at least three times. A second employee got involved, and also could not help me because he could not figure out how to list the references properly. Nearly an hour later it was only a third employee, who could finally figure out how to help me and get me out of the store. Quite simply it was the most awful customer service I have ever received at any time at any storage facility in my entire life. The above questions, asking people to rate certain criteria from one star to five stars, does not allow proper evaluation of how poorly my experience went. I am keeping the unit, because it is close to my home and convenient. But if I had the choice I would’ve just dropped the entire transaction, and gone to a different U-Haul location. It was very difficult.

ROSALYN TAYLOR | Online Move InI lost several boxes of possessions to a huge termite infestation. I only used this location for six months. The original reservation for a larger room was not honored, so I had to use 2 smaller rooms, and the infestation occurred in the non-climate controlled room I was forced to use. I have never lost possessions to this kind of damage before in any other storage facility. I would not recommend this location to anyone.
