Upon opening, 30+ people were in line and only one person was checking people out. After 30 minutes a second persons joined, all while 5+ people were wandering around outside or stocking nearly full shelves. The â€œmanagerâ€ sat in her office calling people that were standing in line asking if we weee going to pick up or rentals. I stood in line for over an hour after checkin in and paying online. So, no benefit at all to doing so. This location manager should be trained to recognize ridiculously long lines and step in and help with the process.Michael L.

I had a rental scheduled for 9am till 11am. I arrived at the UHAUL facility at 8:59am. When I walked in, there were two people in line in front of me. I waited in the line for about 30 minutes before being able to speak with someone and pick up the key for my rental. After I asked if I would be given an extra 30 minutes for the time I had to wait in the line, the woman said I would not be given any extra time and I was still required to bring it back by 11am. When I got outside to the truck, the rear passenger tire was at 8 PSI, I know because it said it on the dash of the truck. It took about 10-15 minutes for them to air up the tire, which in my opinion is a absurd amount of time to sue up one tire when the air hose is already hooked onto a compressor. I was now 45 minutes behind schedule even though I arrived on time for my scheduled rental time. As you can imagine, I was not able to be back before 11am because I scheduled it for 2 hours for a specific reason. I have not seen any other fees charged to my account, nor do I expect any fees to be charged as this was not my fault. I can only imagine how upset the people behind me were when I finally picked up my rental because the line was now reaching to the doors of the facility. Everything with the truck itself worked great and I had no problems with the vehicle once it was in my possession, however, I will NOT be using this facility again, and will 100% look elsewhere when needing to rent a vehicle again before I look at UHAUL. I'm not trying to say all UHAUL facilities are bad, but this one experience was enough for me to never want to use UHAUL again.Jonah R.

One of the two males knew everything but was pulled everywhere. Had to leave counter area to receive a box. The second male just sat there and did nothing but look at his phone. the rental was paid for by a graduate student (not a US citizen) here at TTU - including the Safe Move Plus. when the truck was returned with a bit of damage, the rental office attempted to make him pay for that damage. Fortunately, another grad student was able to intervene. it was fairly obvious that the attempt to force the first student to pay for damages was based on the color of his skin. as far as this department is concerned, we will not use your company again & definitely will not recommend you to anyone else.S Y A.

Upon returning the equipment to my final destination I learned that the pick up location entered the wrong trailer # and was then reported stolen. Please review my contract to see the mistake. The Desoto Tx location found the problem and addressed the issue. My problem is that if I would have gotten stopped by law enforcement I would have gone through an embarrassing situation all for the lack of attention at the Lubbock location. This place is trash and a rip off. None of the employees could do there jobs. Every employee interrupted each other since they had no clue as to what the next step is in helping there customer in front of them, resulting in other customers being rudely interrupted. Why have a menu to choose from and its by far what you pay. 15 foot van 29.95 thats a lie with a retainer fee that I didn't get back properly and didn't use the uhaul but only 12 miles. The truck was poor condition. The side mirrors would not stay in place while driving down the road. This is a hazard since you are unable to see behind you and your sides with them moving out of sight. The facility did not have any moving accessories to rent, even though I rented them before hand. When returning my trailer I pulled in and waited for assistance. None came out so I pulled around and did self check out. The hitch stuck on the ball and while trying to jar it off I accidentally kicked the plastic latch and broke it. I honked my horn when I finally saw an attendant and he came out. After enduring the condensing comments from the youngster he returned with another attendant who released the hitch and proceeded to charge me $45 for a new latch. This would have been avoided with more prompt service or clearer signage about how long to wait for service.Dan B.

Upon arriving inTexas and being told we had a storage from our departure point when picking up the 26’ truck, we arrived to then be told jk no storage for you! Then the owner was incredibly rude and argued with me over whether I had a reservation even after I produced the receipt! This move was a nightmare and u-haul didn’t help. While preparing to leave Kansas our car dolly was unavailable (reserved weeks in advance), so we had to make a return trip to get our car. An 8.5 hour drive both ways to pick a dolly and get our project car home! Because of the disorganization of your business it cost us an additional $1000 dollars to move in unexpected gas, hotel, and storage costs! Very unhappy with u-haul and will seek alternatives in the future. The location in Texas did finally get us storage for the free month we earned for the large long distance rental, but instead of the extra large unit we reserved IN ADVANCE we received 2-8x8 units and were barely able to cram everything in. First day of rental- uhaul servers crashed and I was standing in the parking lot with all my stuff. On location staff almost never picks up the calls. Like seriously hire someone to answer calls or invest in a decent voicemail. All 4 loading and unloading carts were missing. When I asked someone for help they took me to the back of the facility and made me drag the cart back to the entrance. Turns out uhaul staff were using it to do maintenance and repair. Chandler saved the day! Checking out of our storage unit, Chandler was kind and very helpful. Checking in was horrible, whoever helped me was rude, didn’t help at all, didn’t explain anything! After the initial showing up, returning my rental $600 you would think they would be courteous and helpful but it was the opposite! The storage unit itself is way overpriced for what we got, and in poor shape. Chandler at the end was the really only good point. And the actual pick up of the rental in Austin ATX. They were very nice and helpful. We’ve used u haul many times, paid a lot of money to them. We have stored our college student's belongings at U-Haul every summer. This year, we stored longer due to leaving early because of the Pandemic. Move-in was very easy. Move-out was delayed when we discovered a small number of "baby" roaches crawling around some our boxes and seeming to come from a neighboring unit. I believe the roaches were a new addition in our 5 month of storing items. Just beware that while U-Haul does all it can (spraying for bugs, etc.), storage neighbors may not be as conscientious or even aware they have a pest problem. Our move-out took an extra hour and a half since we went through everything thoroughly looking for "baby" roaches and repacking in vacuum zipper bags.RONDA S. | Overall Experience

Your questions above are deceiving. Of course people can be friendly, but not know what they are doing. The first employee who helped me, could not figure out the computer system. I had to give personal information, and list references for the employee, at least three times. A second employee got involved, and also could not help me because he could not figure out how to list the references properly. Nearly an hour later it was only a third employee, who could finally figure out how to help me and get me out of the store. Quite simply it was the most awful customer service I have ever received at any time at any storage facility in my entire life. The above questions, asking people to rate certain criteria from one star to five stars, does not allow proper evaluation of how poorly my experience went. I am keeping the unit, because it is close to my home and convenient. But if I had the choice I would’ve just dropped the entire transaction, and gone to a different U-Haul location. I lost several boxes of possessions to a huge termite infestation. I only used this location for six months. The original reservation for a larger room was not honored, so I had to use 2 smaller rooms, and the infestation occurred in the non-climate controlled room I was forced to use.
