The first day I went to this location I had to use my credit card instead of cash for my purchase because they didn’t have cash in the register. Second day the customer service staff didn’t have authorization to use the register so cash again. Third day arrived at the store to return the rental but there was no customer service staff in the store. A gentleman had walked in before me he checked the restroom and I knocked on the door to the service area - no response. We waited for 20 minutes before two customer service staff pulled up in a rental truck. The gentleman walked to the door to let them know they had customers waiting for them. Their response was “be with you in a sec”. It took them another 10 minutes to enter the store to take care of us.

Pick up was challenging, no one was available for first 10 minutes after we arrived. Once someone was in store, waited another 5 minutes while he was on phone with another customer. Once he was available, he was very nice and accommodating. Traffic around location is very bad at rush hour.

Good climate control in the facility, it was clean, secure and well-lit.
The only issue I had with my storage space here, is that the roof sometimes leaked during a very heavy rainstorm. The tops of some boxes showed water stains, but no contents inside were damaged. (I recommend checking the roof before renting the unit to another customer.)

The pickup was complicated because my reservation was changed resulting in the price going up by $900. The truck was functional but had several issues in the cab such as drivers seat being lopsided, something on the front window inside that we couldn’t get clean, drivers visor mount fell out, driver door had to be slammed to latch, and front passenger turn signal light fell out while driving. Drop off was also complicated as it wasn’t clear where to park and key drop off was not well labeled. A previous rental from this location was excellent so maybe it was just bad luck for this one.

Worst experience I’ve had. Picked up a trailer from this location and about an hour down the road, my wife messaged me (she was in vehicle behind me) said tire on trailer was loose. Turns out the tire hub was busted. One of the nuts from hub broke off and one was already loose. Went to a different location in Richmond area where folks were very nice and gave me a new trailer. Got a couple hours down the road and locking mechanism on trailer broke off, causing the trailer to go out of control, almost taking out my truck. Luckily, only minor damage to truck happened. Got another trailer and Made it to Florida. Filed a claim with uhaul with photos and video of everything. Even with damage to my truck, items in trailer that were damaged and emotional stress of going through the incident, Uhaul decided that a $50 refund was enough to satisfy everything. I will not ever use Uhaul again nor recommend them.

I was told to return the truck with a quarter tank and I did. I put $15 in before I dropped it off which brought it back to a quarter tank. I was then charged $14 for fuel. I tried callIng but the phone number provided does not work. It said to press 3 for all other options and every time I did, the call was disconnected.

We rented a 26ft. truck and this location had it ready to go. They also had boxes, tape, blankets and other moving items available if needed. The location has easy access to Route 28, Route 29 and Route 66
Highly recommend this Uhaul location.

The trailer rented was not in the greatest shape and had a few marker lights burned out. The small stature kid they sent out to attach the trailer to my 2020 Cadillac Escalade was a mistake. We had to assist him with the attachment. The man behind the computers had like 5 customers he was assisting at the same time. I won't be going to the Manassas Park location again.

Getting and returning the U-Haul at this location was unprofessional. I was assigned a truck that did not match the system to rent causing delays. While this was fixed picking up the truck, my name was still tied to the old truck causing me to have to call again as to why I was being charged for a second truck I did not have. I was told this issue would be fixed with a manager but even after calling the place twice and the manager THREE times, they never got back to me. If you want to rent from U-Haul, go to another location!!

There needs to be clear signs at this Uhaul location that guide people how to reach the return spot. I drove around the back of the building to get to the return area but it felt like I wasn’t allowed to go that way. The road was tight and there were Uhaul trailers parked on both sides of the road. There are no signs that indicate which way a customer is supposed to travel to return the truck.

This truck was raggedy and did not run smoothly The air conditioning did not work well at all! Blowing hot air and the ride was rougher than other truck we have ever experienced! Suggest fixing or removing from fleet.

The staff was polite and efficient. The place was busy when I arrived AND the new (to me) checkout process where the customer needs to take pictures of the front and back of their own licenses slowed me down that it took more than half an hour to get my rental trailer ready to go. If the objective is to streamline the checkout process, this license picture uploads could have been done beforehand by advising the customer to do so via email or text. Just my 2 cents.

Management doesn’t respond to issues in an appropriate and/or timely manner. The cleaning lady harasses the customers by constantly following them to their units after they arrive so she can nosily view what they have in their unit. She is always talking on the phone and barely cleaning. The bathrooms are constantly without toilet paper, trash can overflowing and ceiling fan cover falling / hanging from the ceiling. The employees are liars saying they will do things and then don’t follow through. I have been waiting on a follow up from a higher manager or representative to contact about an incident since May 31. Have had several incidents that the storage was inaccessible because employees wouldn’t come to unlock the door after opening hours. Started out as a nice facility but has progressively gotten worse after many years of renting.

Messed up reservation and tried to send me 30 mins out of the way to pick up proper equipment (30 mins out and 30 mins back so really an hour of driving.) plus was supposed to be my $50 off since U-Haul messed up the reservation but never got it. Also my drop off location was not specific (it only said a city not an actual address) and they just said call this number and ask them instead of doing it for me. A 9am pick up turned into an hour and a half process and not getting what I wanted and having to be 5x the amount I wanted to pay. (Regular reservation was going to be $100 and I ended up paying $500 all together.)

The check out system when picking up a truck is overly redundant, complicated, and time consuming. What good does it do me to check in early on the "APP" if I have to do the same thing all over again? And when I did try to do it again, none of your app's requirements were easy to achieve. Submitting my license too 5 tries! I have rented U-hauls for 40 years and never was it this difficult. Even though I Felt the staff was good and the place was clean and well organized, I will never rent a U-haul again.......ever! Such a stupid process. I have had this storage unit since 2015 and I moved out of it on 4/27/2023. My billing cycle is the 20th of every month. I asked the office staff prior to moving out (I stopped by the office on April 19th, 2023) since I was moving out one week after the billing date if the rate would be prorated and the office staff told me yes, but the owner would have to take care of it and that he had seen him do it for others when they closed out their account. When I went to office to close out my account, I encountered Robbie Necessary who apparently was the owner. He was more concerned with telling us how he could have matched the price on the truck we had to move (as we went with one of your competitors because the rate was so much better) and that when we needed another truck he would give us a discount since we were such good, long term customers. When we closed out the account, Robbie did not provide me with a close out receipt and when I asked about the proration, he told me no, that he did not prorate. I asked him “so, I’ve only had the storage unit for a week and I have to pay for the entire month?” He was dismissive and told me “sorry, that’s Uhaul’s policy” and walked away. I told him he needed to make sure that he educated his staff because that is not what I was told a week ago. He wanted me to describe who I spoke to and when I did, he was adamant that everyone i described didn’t work for him and walked away from me again. He was more concerned with talking to a young female that was behind the counter with him. He made it a point to tell me and my husband that he looks after her like “her daddy”. I found that to be very disturbing. I also believe it is completely unfair that I am being charged for an entire month when I only had the unit for one week. I will be following up with a call to the corporate office on Monday.

I had an issue with the timing of my rental unit because of a unforeseen medical condition. When I called thinking only a manager could handle my problem and expecting a lot of rejection and red tape but it wasn’t so. MUCH to my surprise, your worker “Rico” helped me immediately and told me what needed to be done. She was absolutely helpful/professional and so was the counter guy when I came to the store. The site in Manassas sent me to this location, l was very happy to hear what l needed would be available , however the computer was down and although l had a reservation number and really wasn't in a big hurry it took forever. They also couldn't get the access card working so l had to keep putting the number in and that took time . They forgot to give me a lock and l was called later to be inform that my rental for the first month is free but they were unable to put the money back on the card.

It is strongly recommended if you visit and ask questions in person. Of course, I couldn't answer the phone because there were customers in the office, but I hope that Johnny's operating system will be changed by a good-natured and kind manager. No matter how busy the office is, any employee can simply “pick up the phone directly and say a short guide.” If you ask for your understanding, please wait for a while. .” Obviously, a very important and sure fact is that most of the customers who have already visited the office in person can wait for their orders while watching the situation in the office. However, if one of the employees does not answer the phone indifferently even though it is urgent or to come or simply to ask a question, it is not possible to see the feelings of the customers who made the call in the office. It will spread to other future guests. I hope you will consider it carefully. Thank you.

I actually used a UHaul storage facility AND another storage facility that was close to my home. I spent a lot of time kicking myself, that other facility was not easily accessible during the snow and ice storm. They had a hand cart that was primitive (the handle kept coming off). . I felt concerned due to the lighting while in the other facility. I kept saying *NOTE TO SELF*
**ONLY USE UHAUL FACILITIES IN THE FUTURE**.

Manager on duty took me to all three desk areas. All three signature machines were broken and they refused to let me record my signing of paperwork. They cancelled my unit and called police although I was reasonable in my request. A very clean and well maintained storage facility with plenty of carts available for use. The staff is friendly and knowledgeble and the are plenty of supplies for purchase.
