Reserving, picking up, and returning was SO EASY! The front desk person was helpful, and returning with my phone was straightforward. The van is so nice, loved having a back up camera & blind spot mirrors. My only complaint would be locking the doors- the driver side button didn't work to lock all the doors at once so we were walking around the van and locking each individual door- Didn't figure that out.LAURA E.

I would have marked them excellent except for 2 issues. One, I was expected to inspect the van in a dark parking lot at pick up. I instead waited until i got home to inspect in the light of a garage but then could not reply to the link that had expired. Two, the windows were so dirty, especially on the inside, that we had to clean all the windows before leaving. Huge smudge marks all over the inside of front and side windows- gross. Supposed to be clean on pick up. Plus side is that drop off is easy and quick.KELLY L.

The young man who waited on us in store was efficient and fantastic, but he was overwhelmed and the line was 8 deep with people because of understaffing at the location. Same with the one guy working out in the yard - he was working very hard and the location needed two people in yard readying trucks. I understood the rate for mileage was .79 a mile. I realized that they were charging me .99 a mile. They told me that it was changed because I changed the pickup date. After dropping the van back at the site at 12:15 PM I got a call that evening around 6:00 PM asking when I was bringing it back. Obviously something when wrong with the take-in process. The agent called me back a few minutes later saying he found the van. My receipt reflects a 6:00 PM return which is incorrect. Also I was charged $22.50 for 5 gallons of gas for 45 miles. That makes the mileage at 9 miles per gallon. I would have given an excellent score for the pick-up service but not sure what broke for the return.DAVID S.

The personnel at the location was very nice and professional. However, I was told that I could use two different credit cards and when I went to charge the U-Haul I was told I couldn't. This caused a lot of drama and unnecessary stress for me. The truck leaked inside the cab when it rained and we were not given any reimbursement for this highly uncomfortable inconvenience we endured from New Jersey to Florida.DAWN W.

To me & every place I ever worked, the definition of weekend is Saturday & Sunday. So, your customer service rental associates should make a point of explaining at the time of making a reservation that U-Haul has changed the "American Heritage Dictionary" definition from Saturday & Sunday to Friday & Saturday.Monte B.

Complaints- 1st truck assigned was not there. 2nd truck assigned only drive about 10 feet and stopped moving forward, and air not working (and had lots of scrapes, etc). 3rd truck worked. As a result of above, took more than 40 minutes to get a truck inspite of using online system. I had to wait at counter (per online system would not have to). No directions as to where exactly to return truck to. Staff had just locked door and ignored me, would not answer door or phone. My agreement said to return truck by 9pm, but another part of system said it was to have been returned by close of business, which was 7pm. Entire experience was frustrating and stressful.Kristin P.

Equipment I originally ordered was incorrect. They worked with me to fix the issue but I was still delayed a half hour by their discrepancy. I informed the attendant I did not know what time I would be done with equipment. Maria, the site manager in Mechanicsburg was awesome. One of her employees seemed a bit annoyed when I simply asked what time the actual storage area was accessible to. He may have been off the clock but I feel that it was a very simple question with a simple answer that could've been answered without an eyeroll or sarcasm. I feel that even off the clock he represents U-Haul (especially while walking out of the office IN UNIFORM) and puts off a bad vibe when interacting with customers this way. Overall I am still quite satisfied with the rest of the staff's performance and my interactions with them. Maria and her staff at U-Haul Mechanicsburg were flooded with business on Friday, Jan. 15, when I returned at one-way from Fort Wayne, Indiana. They were literally running from customer to customer who needed service and assistance, and did so professionally and courteously. Not only was I returning a 10-foot truck and a obstinate tow dolly (the straps were a bit stubborn), we also need a storage unit assigned in the midst of the chaos.
