My issue is less with the specific facility and more with the parent company that allows for more bookings online than it has the staff in a given location to manage. In other words, U-Haul will take your money whether they can actually deliver on the promises of the arrangement or not. I opted for moving help to load the U-Box (third party, via U-Haul's website), and they were great, but the box wasn't ready for pickup (even though I called to confirm it would be). Everything had to be rescheduled. Buyer beware. The workers themselves are doing the best they can, but it's clear they are not being given the resources to manage well while the parent company rakes in the profits.

Clare WThere was a leak in the top right corner of the cargo area which soaked my boxes and got my furniture wet. Further more when I went to start the truck to return it, it wouldn’t start. I had to contact roadside service and waiting 45 minutes for him to arrive. Not a good experience at all.
Josh JTires were visibly old at pickup, trailer was old too but clean. One tire shredded and went flat about 25 miles from destination (900 mile drive), so it was unfortunate. My opinion is that trailer shouldn’t be on the road anymore. Pretty old and beat up.

Craig STerrible experience. The van ran out of gas within 5 miles after leaving the Morton Grove, IL facility. The contract indicated 1/4 tank of gas and this was told to us when we signed the contract. We attempted to contact Roadside assistance after Morton Grove said to call them. Roadside Assistance did not pick up and it went to voice mail on multiple attempts. We returned the keys to the rental facility. The manager gave us a gas can and said we needed to fill the van and return it. We did we feel it was our responsibility. The conversation was most unpleasant and we were not treated like the customer in any fashion. We asked for the charges to be reversed and were told they could not do that and that we may incur towing charges for the van. I will never use UHAUL Morton Grove, IL ever again.

Jon PThe reason for the 2 stars is not due to the location. The reason for the 2 stars would go for 2 main reasons. One was the location where I was told to go to get the truck I had rented was not there for my pick up. When I asked the person at that location he told me he would need to ask his boss what to do but his boss was not in. The other main issue is I needed to rent a truck that was at least 24 feet inside with the door closed. The person at the U-haul 800 number assured me that the 26 foot truck was long enough for my material with out the "Mothers Attic". When I picked up my material the floor of the truck was maybe 23 feet long, that is a big difference from 26 feet. Other issue is that if you are going to charge for gas not put in the truck DO NOT give me a truck that is on EMPTY. I do try to put gas in the truck as affording to my contract. If you are going to charge exorbitant fees for filling a truck actually go and put the gas in the truck for the next customer

The 4x8x5 unit door was too small for a queen mattress to fit through, even though the website stated that it would. We had already unloaded most of the trailer into the building, so had to move everything to another area of the building to a unit with a larger door. We were given 3 different locker numbers in the office, and all had locks on them, that the previous renters had left. Finally, found a locker that was open. Even though the process was frustrating...the staff was very apologetic, and helpful. Would recommend staff goes through all units to remove locks from empty units.
