U-Haul was very dirty in the cab-we wiped down several times and the towels were black. Lock on the back did not work. Driver door stuck & at one point the lock got stuck & wouldn't open at all. There was a large gap in the top of the door which caused leaking & load road noise the entire time. Change oil Light & airbag light on dash came on the day we picked it up. Alignment was so bad the steering wheel was turned to make wheels drive straight which is completely unsafe & taxing when driving long hours. We rent several times a year for business purposes & the quality and safety of the trucks we get continue to decline.TERRY E.

When I dropped off truck; they said we will email final bill that afternoon : never happened: couldn't call : hold for 1/2 hr ? No ; they called me they next morning while I was working : rich left message asking when i was planning to bring truck back? What ?? Trying to call again ; cant get thru : I guess I have to drive down to the store itself on Jefferson ave : murrieta, ca : before I went in I saw the truck I had returned sitting in the lot : had truck number in my head : they said the must have forgot to check it in : ya it's sitting right out there in your lot !! Frustrating; to much time taken on my part ; someone needs to do there job ; and don't be so quick to blame me : I thought they might offer me something; but not //thx dale bossDALE B.

So the only gripe that I had was with the dollies. I rented one with the hopes of using them to haul boxes up the stairs (moved into an Apt) but found I wasn't able to due to the size of the wheels. The stairs had a small lip off the edge of the steps that the wheels would just get stuck under rendering it unusable for why I had rented it. I think if they offered dollie rentals that had larger inflatable tires rather then solid rubber tires if would be better over all. Other than that, everything I rented worked well if not perfectly.MATTHEW D.
I tried using the on line system twice in the last week to pick up my rental. The first time in didn't work at all. The second time is took so long, after about 15 minutes, I gave up on the online pick up and went into the store. Much faster in the store. Looks like you didn't Beta test your knew software adequately. That being said, I did use the on line return since I returned the truck after hours. The on line return worked pretty well.jeffrey N.

Went to the storage off of Kalmia, closed, even after I was told they would be open until 7pm. Talked with Rich who was very nice but could not find my reservation. Waited until the next day to drop off at the Jefferson location and rent storage. Denies was somewhat helpful. I will hire movers next time so I don't have to deal with the moving issues again. It almost seems that the regional centers are not communicating with the sites to make the moving experience for the customer seamless. I moved from OR to CA.Jennifer G.

I reserved a 6' x 12' for Saturday, at 2:45pm on the UHaul website, and I received a phone call that afternoon and I was told that the trailer was actually not available anywhere, which screwed my plans to move items that day. I think it's interesting that when you reserve a trailer online, it says it's guaranteed - I guess that not exactly true.DAVID H.

Customer service rep inside the store were not very friendly or attentive. While I was speaking to the rep helping me, another employee was speaking to her about things unrelated to work. It was quite awkward and unprofessional. This is certainly uncomfortable to say, but both female employees in the store looked like they haven't showered in a few days. No one was wearing a mask (not sure if they are required to). The location and facility was clean and easy to find. I felt safe returning the vehicle after hours. There were a lot of lights and area to return was identified clearly with signs.SHANELLE T.

The van needs to be retired. I pulled to the left and it would make a honking sound once the vehicle got over 50 mph. Was a little nerve racking to drive, and I have driven some very large vehicles. MUCH larger than this, and the size of a vehicle does not intimidate me, so I am able to do well with them.ROBERT G.

The navigation around the complex has always been problematic. The staging of trucks, pods, on one way access and exit roads and the what can only be described as pac-man maze To get in and get out, to and from storage. A couple time one must take car off-road (rocks) to leave and get in to the only side entrance to storage building, and the narrow opening to get vehicles — including small to medium moving boxes trucks could be risky for the new renters if box. Staging empty trailers in or near the two or three retail parking is not ideal. I watched a small car back in to a bumper-level tripod holding neck, knocking it off To hit the ground, When moving out of a unit it would be “friendly” to offer a store credit to offset proration that isn’t returned when checking out a couple weeks early. It’s a common practice elsewhere but u-haul is the leader. When paying rent in advance it is a nice incentive to pay for 12 and get the 13 month equivalent credit. However, my experience it required intervention and reminders by me to assure the credit was taken and transparent. I’d rent again and location is ideal for area. The staff at the Uhaul location were helpful. However I am very dissatisfied with the company reservation policy. I provided my credit card info and move in date when I placed the reservation over the phone with customer service over the phone. They explained that this will reserve my unit that they said was available. When I went to the Uhaul site to check my storage unit and finalize payment for my reservation the unit was not even available! I was told it was just a waiting list not an actual reservation. My rating is not about the people at the facility but rather that U-Haul overbooked the storage facility and our space was not available when we got there. We had helpers hired and were paying them while a resolution was sought. They called the next closest facility but the space wasn’t as large and we couldn’t fit all our items into it. They didn’t have a smaller unit so we had to rent another one elsewhere. We were late to an appointment because of all the extra travel time. Only issue was access. If there weren't any return rental vehicles blocking the main driveway, access would have been a bit easier to figure out.
