Busy small location, but things do get done. Guy outside struggled a bit to get me signed in as I had grill damage and tried to charge me for it. But once pointed out I had the insurance it was done quickly. We were told to sweep out the trailer before we returned it or we would be charged a fee. However when we got home and opened it up it was full of dirt and mud. We had to wash it out and clean it before we could put our boxes in it.JAMES M.
Do NOT use the 24/7 Truck Share-Online system. Left on hold for half hour after check-in (on time) for a 4 hour rental. Needless to say, it was a scramble to get things done in 3.5 hotel when we planned, rigidly, for 4 hours. Call centre apologized but did not offer to extend time. Just go into the store at this location. Staff was friendly and efficient. 5 stars for this location and staff, 0 stars for their corporate call centreâ€¦which is a huge failure.Jennifer F.

I rented a day van to move some stuff. The seats were covered in dog or cat hair, so I don't think they vacuum. When I brought it back, it had some leaves and stuff from the stuff I'd moved. Not tons. When I checked in the van, the attendant told me to grab a broom and sweep it. That kind of surprised me. It wasn't overly dirty, but fair enough I don't have a problem sweeping. I said â€œwhich broomâ€ and he gestured twice towards a bucket filled with brooms. He did not offer a broom to me, and as I mentioned, he gestured in the general direction of the cleaning items THEY use. I grabbed a smaller whisk broom, which (I didn't notice) was broken at the top, so it cut my finger. Not badly, but what the heck folks? That's just terrible customer service. He told me I had taken â€˜the wrong broom.â€ Sorry - I thought my paying for the truck meant I didn't have to do your job. When 8 took the broom to reception inside, the top of the handle actually broke off, exposing a razor sharp edge. I don't want anything from you, but this is certainly a customer service story I will tell me friends. The attendant actually told me â€œ it's not my fault you took the wrong broom.â€ Well, it sure is. Hand me a broom. Do you have a chat person online at the website? Or Q and A section? I don't remember. Just a few extra facts about what to expect rather than infer. For instance, tell that the first invoice comes off and will be put back. Then the cost in actual time will come off.MARGARET B.
A total nightmare! I needed to move from Vancouver to Calgary and rented a 20" truck and a car transport. I booked a reservation one month in advance and went to the U-Haul North Vancouver location twice to make sure there are no surprises on my moving date. I was supposed to pick up my truck and car transport on May 30, 2021, at the North Vancouver location. A few hours before my moving date U-Haul (North Vancouver) told me that they did not have any truck available for me and that I needed to pick-up the car transport in Langley instead of the North Vancouver location. Their "reservation system" is just a fraud. Don't bother making your reservation as they won't book anything until your moving date. A total nightmare. I didn't receive an apology, discount or refund of my money. What a way to treat customers!Victor B.

The problem is not the location, but the online booking software. You have a number of problems associated with online booking that force users to use the internal checkout counters, and this location is so busy they would need to double the number of staff to be efficient and effective. We went multiple times over the last 2 months to rent vehicles or get supplies associated with our move and were never able to be serviced in less than 30 minutes.Michel L.
This was my first anf last time, for sure, doing business with uhaul. Your company is the worst!! I make sure to tell all my friends and family about this and also review your company in different places so prople know how terrible uhaul is. Why do you say guaranteed reservation when it's not even a reservation? The last day they call me to pick up the truck in another city New Wesminister and then ON THE DAY of moving one hour before pick up they call me to pick up the truck in North Vancouver!!! Experience was pretty average. I will say I was a little taken aback by one of the front desk workers being somewhat rude to her coworker. We took out collision insurance and were quite distressed to discover, upon our return, that the slight scrape on the roof of the van we had rented which was not covered by the above mentioned insurance, would cost us 100 dollars out of pocket. We were substantially more appalled when we discovered that instead of the 100 as initially stated, Uhaul charged us 400 dollars instead, a few days later. This lack of transparency and professionalism will definitely ensure that we will never use this company again, nor recommend it to anyone else. We will furthermore advertise this unethical and unscrupulous behaviour on the part of the company to the wider public. Shame on you, Uhaul.JANA T.

I am good with online pickup and drop off after hours, but I never seem to get a final invoice paid receipt by email after returning it. I just assume everything was good, when I check my credit card statement later. It would nice to have paid receipt afterwards, that's all. Thanks,KEVIN L.
Well. If there was 0, I would have give you that. I reserved one way 15' truck with furniture dolly on May3rd for move on June 1st for 10:30AM. I received an email 6-ish am on June1st(moving day) that there is a 10' Truck available for 5PM 1.5 hours drive from me!!! I called and they changed it to this location for 10am (but 10'). I paid online for 10' Truck and furniture dolly for One way. When I arrived, there were no truck available. After waiting a long time, they told me there is no one-way truck and no furniture dolly. So I had to buy one! Though manager tried really hard and gave me more time and km to bring it back. Did I have any choice? It is moving day, elevator booked, movers booked ... so I accepted and paid more ... When I brought it back, they told me I owe $671. They laughed themselves and put the account on hold. Ultimately it was resolved but I remember that you are causing a lot of headache. Try to treat your customers better, you will not always have this monopoly and you will need people!Behzad B.

When I picked up the truck I was told there was 8 moving blankets in a bag. The guy at the counter convinced me I didn't need 24 moving blankets so I said 16 would be fine. It turns out there was only 6 in a bag and when I got to the drop off point they were expecting 18 blankets. Very frustrating that not only was I charged for 18 blankets, but i had to convince the drop off person that I only started with 12.MICHAEL G.

After spending almost 30 minutes going through the online pickup process, the system crashed after taking my credit card information, and I had to go into the office to have them sort out whether the card was charged or not and to process the order. So the online system was a huge waste of my time and made me late. Also, the error sign said that the system was down for scheduled maintenance which I had a hard time believing that a company would schedule maintenance when customers are midway through using the system. Extremely unhappy with the online stuff as it simply did not work and wasted my time and made a challenging day even more challenging.David J.
Online check in did not work. Waited in hold for 45 min to be told that we were "late" picking up the truck and no longer had a truck. The rep on the phone just didn't seem to care and she transferred us to someone who also couldn't help. Waited in hold for another hour. Finally the location opened at 9am and they would not open the lockbox with the key until I figured out on my own to sign out and sign back in to the website to make the online reservation system work. Also the GPS on the website kept telling me that I was not at the correct location (which I obviously was). In the end, it took over two hours to pick up the truck and would not have had a truck had I not figured out the buggy online check out system on my own. Your reps in the phone and at the lot really don't seem to care. Maybe treat them better so they do?Joshua C.

I received excellent service, both on the phone and in person at your Main St North Vancouver location - everyone starting with the staff in the lot to the staff at the customer service desk. My rental of a 9'cargo van was handled very professionally and I was even more pleasantly surprised after returning home from dropping off the vehicle to find that my invoice had been adjusted down to reflect the accurate mileage used. This company offers good value, good service and are trustworthy and professional. My family and I will use them again in future without hesitation.Moya M.

This guy is extremely rude and starts yelling at you instead of solving the issue. They don't point out the most important terms of the contract and scam you by making you pay more. First of all I was told that if I drop off at a location instructed by your customer service representative on a call that I would not be charge anything extra if I drop the trailer off at a location as per his instructions as it was a different location that pick up. I was then charge $20 instead of $10 and was told that it's extra due to dropping off my trailer at morsel instead of the pick up location in North Vancouver. Secondly it was horrible to maneuver in any back up fashion. It was always jackknifing and it was very unpleasant. Thirdly on drop off at the border location there was a female at the who came out to assist me. She was not able to lift he trailer and back it into the parking space. And handle the chains very roughly when disconnecting I feared damages to my vehicle the way she yanked out the cords! Then she seemed unable to manually reverse the trailer into the parking space and my husband did it. For all these reason I am very displeased! The new phone way of taking pictures is not a good system. There were so many undocumented dents, scratches and scrapes on the first truck and there was no way there could be enough photos loaded. The online reservation and check-in system was top notch! Easy to use and easy to follow, and presented me with more options than I anticipated. The check-in staff were helpful and knowledgeable. My van was ready before I got outside - so nice! The van itself was in really good shape, well maintained, no worries about vehicle safety. I was able to get everything done that I needed to get done that day. Returning the van was also a breeze - quick, easy and painless. Overall, a superb experience. I would not hesitate to rent from this location again and will definitely recommend that anyone I know who needs to rent a utility vehicle for any purpose get it from here. I rented a trailer so no additional charges. Going online to drop off wasn't possible because I couldn't unhitch without using the drop off equipment. This Uhaul experience is the most unexpected in a negative way. Firstly, the Uhaul Manager requests me to pay a $710.11 towing fee that I never order, and I never observe the towing service. It was extortion. The towing fee bill the not bill to Uhaul or a bill to myself. It was billed to a non-related third party, except has the truck that I rented's information. Many people rent that truck from time to time. I never request a towing service or observe a towing service. A towing service during the rental period also covered under the insurance contract as well. Uhaul has its own towing service under the contract if towing required. The Uhaul store manager said he paid the towing fee to a third party, so he needed to be charged to my account. It is unreasonable. I suggest the manager. I am afraid a third party was playing the game behind the scene for the sole purpose of financial gain. The RCMP and related organizations needs to investigate this type of Economic crime that takes advantage of the business and innocent people for the sole purpose of organized crime's financial gain.Emily Y. | Overall Experience

I moved out because there was mouse poop all over my unit and stuff with absolutely no food or traces of food anywhere in my unit. It didn’t get into any of my stuff after inspection, but poop was everywhere. I spoke with the manager and he didn’t really have anything to say about it, very much a “what do you want me to do about it” mentality. I asked for help cleaning it up as I didn’t have proper cleaning supplies and mouse poop is really dangerous for women to clean without proper protection, and the person he sent just wiped it off with a rag onto other stuff in my unit. One blanket needed to be thrown out because it was coated too much for me to feel comfortable to get it home to wash it. One lady, who was wonderful, apologized several times for it, but the manager didn’t seem bothered. I moved my stuff out the next day because I had some very expensive books, furniture and linens that I cannot risk vermin ruining. The manager telling me that he’ll clean the floors with peppermint oil more frequently to keep them away wasn’t comforting and clearly not working.Stephanie B. | Overall Experience

I had a storage space at this location for about five years. In that time my monthly rent rose by more than 20%, which seems rather steep. My biggest issue is getting access onsite with a vehicle. Beings as it is a truck rental location the lot is very congested and it became highly inconvenient to gain access to the storage entry.
