The truck was dirty. I was charged $40 for being 2 hours late even though I was told it would be $19.

KERRY MService was great. It was a Saturday morning at the beginning of the month so there was a bit of a line for pickup, but I’d provided all my info on line and things moved pretty quickly. Truck was in great shape and exactly what we needed. Drop off took about 5 minutes and the location has a conveniently close gas station to refill at before dropping off the rental. Overall excellent experience.
Margaret EEnglish was a second language for the two men hooking up the trailer. Communicating with them both was difficult. With the four pin connection, the right turn signal did not work on the trailer. When they plugged into my 7 pin connection, they said the the right turn signal worked. They told me to buy an adaptor - 7 to 4pin. With the adaptor installed, I drove away. Once at home and with the 4way flashers on, my 32 year old son told me that the right turn signal on the trailer was not working. After fixing the broken wire on the trailer.... Yeah let that sink in.... The right turn signal worked. Not only did they let me leave with out proper turn signals, they up sold me an adaptor that I did not need. Now on to the other issue. I booked pick up near my home at the SW Marine Street location. Not North Vancouver a 40 minute drive from home. the booking was made well enough in advance to have moved the trailer. BAD FORM U-HAUL......

Aidan wThe milage was incorrectly recorded and the fuel was not as full as the agreement started. The employee at pickup said to take a photo of it and let them know when I got back. I did report both problems and showed then the photo I had taken and thought that the employee at the return had taken account of the 10 mile discrepancy but when I got home I checked the receipt and that had not occured and I paid 10 miles more than I drove. Other than, the experience was better than expected.

Sheila HVan I rented was quite dirty on the outside but relatively clean on the inside. Drop off process was handled very efficiently by this location and they are following honest business practices. They were courteous and helpful. Suggested improvements would be to the pickup process. They were busy when I picked up so that may have had an impact but once I got to the vehicle there was no instruction on operating the vehicle itself in terms of controls, mirror/seat adjustments, headlight settings, wind wipers etc. Again they were busy so I’m not sure if this is usually part of their pickup process for first time renters. Overall, I was happy with this locations service and I will rent from them again when the need arises. Thank you

JOHN DA quick orientation to the vehicle would be helpful when picking up to identify features like the backup camera, the electric locks on the doors, etc. Also, a warning that the parking brake was on would’ve been useful as I never put mine on when I leave a vehicle in park.
MARK NThe vehicle ran well, easy to handle. Was dirty on the outside and people had written in the dust, and the windshield washer system didn't work on the driver's side. Staff was helpful and interested in helping us choose the right vehicle.

KEVIN C⭐ 1 Star – Absolutely Terrible Experience with U-Haul (Vancouver Return) I had one of the worst customer service experiences ever with U-Haul, and I feel obligated to share this so others can be cautious. This all happened when I returned the truck in Vancouver after driving from Calgary. First of all, the truck was already dirty when I picked it up — I didn’t complain at the time because I just needed to get going. However, when I returned it, one staff member suddenly claimed that I had made the vehicle dirty and tried to charge me $100 for cleaning. The “dirt” they pointed out could literally be rinsed off with water in seconds. It honestly felt like they were just trying to make extra money off me. When I challenged this, they said if the pickup team confirms it was already dirty, then they wouldn’t charge me — otherwise I’d still have to pay. That made no sense. Why am I being put in that situation as a customer? Then things got worse. They tried to charge me an additional $243 for exceeding the mileage limit. According to my contract, I was covered for 1150 km, and I only drove around 1000 km. At first, they insisted I went over. Luckily, I took photos of the odometer before and after — and clearly, I did NOT exceed the limit. Even after I showed proof, that same staff member still tried to blame it on “the app” and said I had to pay anyway. That is completely unacceptable. On top of that, there were two pieces of cardboard already in the truck when I picked it up. When I returned the vehicle, I left them there. The same employee then told me I had to throw them out myself, acting like it was my responsibility. It felt like they were just trying to make things difficult for no reason. The attitude of that particular staff member was extremely unprofessional. The situation became heated, but it was shocking to see an employee argue back in a disrespectful way instead of trying to resolve the issue properly. However, I do want to be fair — this issue was caused by one specific employee. The other staff members I spoke with were reasonable and professional. In fact, after I went inside and spoke to another employee, none of those charges were applied anymore. That clearly shows the problem was not with the company as a whole, but with that individual’s behavior. Overall: - Dirty vehicle at pickup - False cleaning charge attempt - Incorrect mileage charge attempt - One staff member was confrontational and unprofessional - Other staff were helpful and resolved the issue This was a stressful and frustrating experience, mostly due to one employee who handled the situation very poorly. I strongly recommend taking photos of everything and double-checking all charges. Very disappointed with how this was handled.

Ryan fWhen renting a trailer, educate the customer that they may need an adapter. I was asked what vehicle I had and no one pointed out that Toyotas, have a 7 pin spade while your trailers have straight 4 pins. I had an adapter at home that I could have brought with me if I had been told, instead this cost me an extra $23.

Penny SYour on line pricing is deceptive and misleading advertise the right price don’t keep adding fee upon fee and make your gas roulette less of a gamble too. U haul is mostly the only game in town so be honest up front and then customers can budget properly. A $20 dollar 4 hour rental rounded out at $109! Ridiculous!

The new doors look flimsy and the installer broke the door jam. My concerns about the security of my locker were brushed off by the employees. I was informed the morning of my move that the van is no longer available. They switched me to the pickup truck. I called uhaul and said that I can't use the pickup truck, as it's too small for some of my furniture and it was going to pour rain all afternoon. I canceled the pickup truck (and the rest of my day was a nightmare as I scrambled to find ways to move my things) and asked for the $50 I get if my rented vehicle isn't available. The woman on the phone said that I couldn't get the $50 because they're offering me the pickup. She was argumentative and dismissive. She eventually agreed that I should get the $50 but she was rude. If you look at my file, she's the one that canceled my rental of the pickup truck. I recommend you listen to that tape.

There's ALWAYS a truck close to the storage where the staff is unloading stuff from it. Also on a side note, I once called this location from home. I was on hold for 20 minutes so I decided to drive up to the location... 15 mins later I get there, and I'm still on hold on the phone. There were no one in the office but the front desk person... he had the phone up so it doesn't ring... I'm like why don't u answer the phone... I've been on hold for like 35 mins. He's like this thing rings too much... I need a break from it... unbelievable how rude he was. I tell you, this is one of the worst managed uhaul locations U can ignore this, or do something about it. Go undercover if u have too... the level of crap your customers have to put up with in this location is unreal. Unprofessional. Do u want them carrying the uhaul name with such disrespect? How much do u respect and value ur company?

Firstly, the Uhaul Manager requests me to pay a $710.11 towing fee that I never order, and I never observe the towing service. It was extortion. The towing fee bill the not bill to Uhaul or a bill to myself. It was billed to a non-related third party, except has the truck that I rented's information. Many people rent that truck from time to time. I never request a towing service or observe a towing service. A towing service during the rental period also covered under the insurance contract as well. Uhaul has its own towing service under the contract if towing required. The Uhaul store manager said he paid the towing fee to a third party, so he needed to be charged to my account. It is unreasonable. I suggest the manager. I am afraid a third party was playing the game behind the scene for the sole purpose of financial gain. The RCMP and related organizations needs to investigate this type of Economic crime that takes advantage of the business and innocent people for the sole purpose of organized crime's financial gain.

Immediately, I had a rental van and a locker. The person behind the desk walked me to the locker, insured I knew how to enter with the cardlock..the guys helped me understand the working of the van..I really appreciate all the support and kindness ..super people work here.

Marlyn B | Overall ExperienceI moved out because there was mouse poop all over my unit and stuff with absolutely no food or traces of food anywhere in my unit. It didn’t get into any of my stuff after inspection, but poop was everywhere. I spoke with the manager and he didn’t really have anything to say about it, very much a “what do you want me to do about it” mentality. I asked for help cleaning it up as I didn’t have proper cleaning supplies and mouse poop is really dangerous for women to clean without proper protection, and the person he sent just wiped it off with a rag onto other stuff in my unit. One blanket needed to be thrown out because it was coated too much for me to feel comfortable to get it home to wash it. One lady, who was wonderful, apologized several times for it, but the manager didn’t seem bothered. I moved my stuff out the next day because I had some very expensive books, furniture and linens that I cannot risk vermin ruining. The manager telling me that he’ll clean the floors with peppermint oil more frequently to keep them away wasn’t comforting and clearly not working.

Victor L | Overall ExperienceI had a storage space at this location for about five years. In that time my monthly rent rose by more than 20%, which seems rather steep. My biggest issue is getting access onsite with a vehicle. Beings as it is a truck rental location the lot is very congested and it became highly inconvenient to gain access to the storage entry. The people onsite are very friendly but the experience became too much of a hassle to take things in and out, which I have to do from time to time. Just my experience.
