When the Truck breaks dow, U Haul Must do better customer service. Leaving a customer stranded for EIGHT DAYS and still the move was not completed. U Haul finally refunded the cost of the rental truck after eleven Days.. This was done after multiple phone calls an hours of time on phone. Frontline workers can only do so much. Managers are a joke when trying to get restitution, I can go on, an on, but what's the point.. U Haul motto when truck breaks down SORRY we can,t help you.. One more thing, biggest JOKE, U-HAUL charged my credit card over 300$ for late return.. U-Haul towed the truck away the same day I rented the truck.. After break down.. . Really. The worst communication, I have ever encountered. If you rent from U-HAUL do not breakdown.. .REGINAL F.

Rental should begin AFTER required pictures are taken of vehicle All in all it basically comes out as the same price renting anywhere else.. only ruder customer service. They forgot the dolly I paid for, and their wifi wasn't connecting so there were errors uploading pics. All in all it took me about an hour before I could leave and begin moving my things. The lady I spoke to was very unpleasant and hard to get information from, when I had questions about the service I was given attitude. It felt like pulling teeth.. I had to tell them they forgot the dolly several times. I'm really unimpressed. Shouldn't have to raise your voice at people to have them listen to you. The location was extremely overstocked with equipment and it was very difficult to enter, park or even turn around due the crowding of equipment. There is only one entrance/exit and it was constantly being blocked by vehicles, equipment returns and rentals.DANIELLE L.

The center is a bit chaotic and the staff were all making fun of customers in other languages. (Very obviously from hand gestures, expressions and gestures) Also the male workers were checking out women (customers) and making comments. Very unprofessional and it made me want to leave. The two people who helped me were nice and helpful. But anyone who was having problems was met with a lot of sarcasm. My truck was really damaged too. I didn't mind driving it like that, but I was nervous that I would get blamed for any unmarked scratches and had to ask the rep to put more stickers on. I highly recommend their services especially this North Van location. We live in Burnaby but friends of ours highly recommended this Uhaul location in particular couldn't be beat. The van was filthy and I had to ask the attendant to walk around the van with me to inspect for prior damage. There was lots of damaged that had not been marked with a sticker. Also, I drove only 25 kms and when I went to fill up the tank, it cost me $13.00. When I mentioned this to the attendant, he did take off $8.00 which was good. Check in is always ridiculously slow. Inside of vehicle is quite dusty and rarely cleaned. This is especially concerning with the global pandemic. My rate was changed as well when I returned the vehicle for some unknown reason, and the call centre has brutal call wait times so I have not been able to find out why. The only reason I use uhaul is because you pretty much have a monopoly on rental trucks for moving.ROBERT M.
Charged my CC 3 different charges exceeding daily rate and surcharges. Vehicle was atrocious, absokutely filthy inside. Had not been cleaned in months. Discusting suring Covid. Tried to scam me by providing a 1/4 tank of gas and then fuel surcharge me. Lucky I was smart enough to take photos. Did not provide emailed reciept so now i have to fight for that. These people are irresponsible scammers. Zero stars and filing complaint with my CC bank. What an epic waste of my time. The customer service of overall of U-Haul was not good. I booked a big in Vancouver location and was given a smaller truck in a totally different location. When I got there, they also did not have the equipment I booked! No advanced noticed at all to let me know about the equipment and the staff did not seem to care. BAD customer service. Really. Location did not honor/have my reserved trailer. Reserved a motorcycle trailer on June 29 for July 3 pickup. Upon arriving on the day of pickup, lady at the counter informed me that they have already rented out the motorcycle trailer to someone else. U-HAUL YOU MUST LEARN TO HONER CUSTOMER'S RESERVATIONS FOR GIVEN LOCATIONS AND TIMES !!! Have trucks ready at given location at given time of the reservation. Our reservation was made 1 month ahead and no truck available when we arrived to pick it up. It caused us whole range of issues, extra expenses and problems !!! They have no respect for their storage at this facility. They literally BLOCK ACCESS to the storage by parking large trucks all around it!! There's ALWAYS a truck close to the storage where the staff is unloading stuff from it. Also on a side note, I once called this location from home. I was on hold for 20 minutes so I decided to drive up to the location... 15 mins later I get there, and I'm still on hold on the phone. There were no one in the office but the front desk person... he had the phone up so it doesn't ring... I'm like why don't u answer the phone... I've been on hold for like 35 mins. He's like this thing rings too much... I need a break from it... unbelievable how rude he was. I tell you, this is one of the worst managed uhaul locations U can ignore this, or do something about it. Go undercover if u have too... the level of crap your customers have to put up with in this location is unreal. Unprofessional. Do u want them carrying the uhaul name with such disrespect? This Uhaul experience is the most unexpected in a negative way. Firstly, the Uhaul Manager requests me to pay a $710.11 towing fee that I never order, and I never observe the towing service. It was extortion. The towing fee bill the not bill to Uhaul or a bill to myself. It was billed to a non-related third party, except has the truck that I rented's information. Many people rent that truck from time to time. I never request a towing service or observe a towing service. A towing service during the rental period also covered under the insurance contract as well. Uhaul has its own towing service under the contract if towing required. The Uhaul store manager said he paid the towing fee to a third party, so he needed to be charged to my account. It is unreasonable. I suggest the manager. I am afraid a third party was playing the game behind the scene for the sole purpose of financial gain. The RCMP and related organizations needs to investigate this type of Economic crime that takes advantage of the business and innocent people for the sole purpose of organized crime's financial gain.Emily Y. | Overall Experience

I moved out because there was mouse poop all over my unit and stuff with absolutely no food or traces of food anywhere in my unit. It didn’t get into any of my stuff after inspection, but poop was everywhere. I spoke with the manager and he didn’t really have anything to say about it, very much a “what do you want me to do about it” mentality. I asked for help cleaning it up as I didn’t have proper cleaning supplies and mouse poop is really dangerous for women to clean without proper protection, and the person he sent just wiped it off with a rag onto other stuff in my unit. One blanket needed to be thrown out because it was coated too much for me to feel comfortable to get it home to wash it. One lady, who was wonderful, apologized several times for it, but the manager didn’t seem bothered. I moved my stuff out the next day because I had some very expensive books, furniture and linens that I cannot risk vermin ruining. I had a storage space at this location for about five years. In that time my monthly rent rose by more than 20%, which seems rather steep. My biggest issue is getting access onsite with a vehicle. Beings as it is a truck rental location the lot is very congested and it became highly inconvenient to gain access to the storage entry.
