My Dad used Pods but I filled a U-box and had U-Haul move it from Orange County, California to San Antonio, Texas. U-Haul was 2/3 of the price of a Pod. When I went to pick up my reserved truck, both employees told me â€œit's in the backâ€ and expected me to know exactly where. I had to walk around the whole building to try and find it and had to go back in and ask for help and they still didn't come help me find it. The Appliance Dolly that was supposed to be in the truck was not put in the truck. When I returned for it, I had to wait 15 minutes to even be acknowledged and then told that it was out front and the man did not offer to help me load it in to my car.Bobbi G.

I rented a 26' truck on 04/22/2022. I made the reservation on line the night before and when asked how long I would need the truck I estimated the time to be 11 hours. I picked up my truck at 8:14 a.m. on 04/22/2022 and returned it back at approximately 7:45 p.m. By the time my truck was checked in, according to the receipt it was 7:53 p.m. According to my receipt I am being charged for 2-days of Chargeable Rental Periods. I had the truck back at the lot nearly within 31 minutes beyond the estimated rental time I thought I would need the truck for. Being charged for 2-days is penalizing me for what I believed to be the estimated amount of time I thought I needed the truck for. As a long time customer, I cannot believe I am being charged for 2-days when I only had the truck for approximately 31-minutes beyond what I thought would be the amount of time I needed it for. I should have said I needed the truck for 24-hours (1-day rental). I will let others know about my experience with U-Haul on how I was charged for 2-days when I exceeded my estimated time I needed the truck for by 31-minutes.Morris M.

I had to speak to a rep at least 5 times to confirm anything. I would speak to one rep and they would inform me "I was go to go." Then I would get an email saying I needed to call. I would call again, the rep would say "I was go to go!" Then a day later another email informing I need to call to confirm. This company is so unorganized. I had TWO boxes sent to two different location so I was charged doubled! Why could my boxes two be sent to the same location? I would have been charged once. I used PODS for the remainder of my items and PODS was great, you guys could learn some lessons from their customer service. I called ONCE and everything was complete...I did not need to speak to several people to get order, deliver and pick up...U-haul is disorganized and companies across the state have no idea what the other is doing. I moved from Colorado to Texas...at the least the Texas company was MUCH better than the Denver, Colorado one...Denver one was the worst!!!Wanda D.

The young male manager here is extremely rude with absolutely NO customer service experience. I've come to this uhaul multiple times and NEVER had any issues until yesterday 4/13/22â€¦.he was rude to me while training someone else which is UNPROFESSIONAL. Made me feel singled out and attacked. When I asked him to please let me be and let me deal with someone that wasn't him. He became very prideful and refused , saying well I'm the manger and your gonna have to deal with me either way. I asked him once again NICELY to please just let me pick up my reservation hassle free with someone else that wasn't him. He finally â€œgave inâ€ but was adamant about and very loud about how I was to be treated by the person willing to help me. Instructing him exactly how to handle me. Luckily the young guy helping me had extremely great customer service experience and diffused the situation between his boss and I by keeping a friendly manner a tone with me. The manager definitely needs to be demoted or fired because he apparently has no place being a manager. The young man that diffused the situation I've dealt with him on more than one occasion and he is GREAT with customers and definitely deserves to be manager and has great experience with customersEunice J.

Inform customer of $30 deposit on website and not surprise them when they come and pick up the trailer of the charge. Eye contact with friendly conversation from the employee that is hooking up the trailer. I returned the trailer and they didn't even know they had the trailer had to wait three extra days before credit was issued out and I had to call for that and they said they will call me back to let me know that they have the trailer that I returned and nobody ever called back so I called and got the credit three days laterWillie L.

The staff was great as I was completing my reservation right around the closing time and they still helped me out. I’m a little disappointed with my unit Because the dimensions of the door Do not match the dimensions of the unit listed online. It would’ve been useful to know that the door is only the size of a regular house door, not what you expect from a Storage facility. I do recognize that it did j say “swing door” when I was making the reservation, but it was unclear what that meant and I honestly don’t know if I want to keep my unit if it’s gonna be such a pain to fit stuff through a little door, which at best it will be slightly inconvenient and at worst I could be moving a heavy appliance trying to fit through the door and get quite angry. I had never moved from city to city and Stephanie made the madness of moving very helpful. Even though I wasn't quite sure what size unit I needed she was more than helpful getting me 2 unit. In the End I only needed one and she still helped me even though I was that lost crazy customer from a different city. The Staff made me feel a whole lot better they even recommended a good place to eat and places to look for housing they definitely went above and beyond for Me and My Family. My unit was #3009, when I got it it hadn’t rained and moved out n. Couple of days later I returned to unit and it had rained and there was mud and water at the entrance door of unit. It was messy trying to step over the mud and water and I also slipped on the mud. I noticed that the gutter above unit door had been damaged and water was coming thru the damaged parts. This was in April when Irented the unit. I expressed my concerns with the front office numerous times and was told it was going to get fixed and mud swept away but it never was swept or gutter repaired. The reason I picked 2 stars is because I was duped into this facility. I rented a UHaul to move across the country. With the rental, 30 free days came with it. I reserved a 7x20 for $129 a month after the first 30 days. I showed up and there were none this size available in a 30 mile radius. I was given a 10x10 for $134 a month. I ended up just going to a different company to store my stuff cause UHaul did the old “bate and switch” and the facility didn’t meet my needs at all. I've rented trucks and trailers before, and I will continue to, but I will not store anything in the future. The staff was helpful when we moved stuff in, but at the end, they were not helpful at all, and were extremely shady with the closeout process. We were trying to get out by March 14th, but did not get it done in time, so my stepson paid for another month on March15th. The staff at the location was in such a hurry to get us out, that they closed the account and deleted the information just after my stepson made the payment for March 15th to April 14th. I could access my U-Haul account online, but the storage unit history was gone. Fortunately, I keep copies of my online receipts and corrected the staff when they stated that we were only paid through March 14th. Once I pointed out their error, they said we had until April 14th to get the lock off and turn in the access card. I guess they forgot that, and since we had been deleted from the system, they messed up. I found out later that my stepson took off from work to go over and close out the storage unit well before April 14th, but when he got there, the card had been deactivated, and his lock had been cut off of the unit. I have no idea when they did that. I guess getting our rent money, plus possibly getting a partial month from a new customer during the same month for the same unit is a good way to make money, but it is a horrible way to treat your customers, it's shady, and it's wrong. My stepson had paid for the last month, and he didn't tell me until now because he didn't want to make an issue of the situation, but I'm taking the time during this review to make the statement. I came from California and didn't know the area I was moving to. I asked UHaul to find me a Storage facility as close tothe town of Boerne, TX as possible. Instead they put me an hour and a half away - in San Antonio and heavy traffic. I ended up not being able to access my storage unit for a year and a half. Now that I emptied the unit and returned the truck in my new town of Fredericksburg, I find out that there was a UHaul Rep 2 miles from my house!!!! I am so angry with UHaul Headquarters! I paid a LOT more to be a LOT more inconvenienced! WHY?! Because UHaul wanted to keep my account instead of allowing me to use an affiliate location!!!!! That was WRONG! I am the President of a Relief Org and they KNEW IT and still took advantage of me! I believe I deserve some. kind of refund or consolation for all the trouble I went through! On the storage unit that we were given the holes on the door didn't align and I was told I had to buy a particular lock even though I already had my own UHaul heavy duty lock. When I went to the back to put my items in the unit we waited for over 30 minutes for someone to come and open the unit. Then after loading my things in when we tried to use the lock that I was forced to buy I had to use my own lock anyway because of the lock holes did not align. Then the person that sold me the lock didn't want to take it back and refund my money and she finally admitted she couldn't do a refund. I had to wait 2 hours to see the person who was able to do the refund, and she suggested that she could give me another unit. Really like I would go back take everything out get the truck again and move to another unit. I hope that it will be better when I remove my things.joann e. | First Impressions

I really appreciated all the help from the EE's at this location - twice that I have been in the office - your company for some reason feels the need to do computer updates while the employees are checking people in and trying to get them set up for rentals both trucks and storage - I would hope the company would do those things at night when no one is in a hurry or panicking that there are too many people standing in line trying to social distance standing out the door in 100 degree temperatures waiting to get waited on because your company shuts the computers down - that's just nuts!!!KRISTY S. | Overall Experience
