The only thing I had a problem with was the amount of homeless people in and around the storage facility almost every time I was there. As of recently there was almost no available carts to use as well. The faculty was overall okay, fairly clean although there was dog feces in the hallway once. There was a small incident where one of the swivel chains broke on the tow dolly I rented. When I returned it and was worried I would be blamed and charged. It was a nightmare trying to access my uboxes in Fort Collins. The address on fil was not accurate. It was a process that took 2 and a half weeks, numerous phone calls and trips to U-Haul, I spoke to about a dozen associates, in the end it was a customer who had to tell me where my uboxes were. Then when I finally got to the right place, they only pulled 1 box saying "I didn't know there were more" when the box is clearly labeled with my last name and "1 of 2" written on the front. A lamp, a speaker, and my shelf all arrived damaged. There's also a small hole in my couch now. I'm happy they gave me furniture pads, but they gave me so many it was actually quite cumbersome.Diego A.

Yes everything was good. But the only thing I am not happy is when they pick up the box. They had ruin my front yard grass. Make a huge hole in my lawn in the front, that now I have to fix it. I wasn't too happy with that, now I have to hire some one to fix it.Kathy H.

It had been a long time since I rented a vehicle and when I did I usually had another younger driver. I'm 75 years old and could have used more guidance and familiarity of the cargo van's features. The one young man that did help me when needed was outstanding two times and was the one who also checked in the vehicle when I returned, different man than who checked out the vehicle to me. We experienced great customer service at this location. The agent who helped us hook up the trailer went above and beyond. My complaint is not with this location but with the reservation process. We couldn't get a car tow we needed and when we reserved a trailer we received a call the day before that there were none available. A clear means of scheduling the unloading and access of the U-boxes would be a great start. I tried for a 2 days to schedule access to the boxes, which meant rescheduling the moving truck and movers several times until a clear time could be provided. When I was able to get through to the store they were helpful and nice. Took several calls with customer service and the store to finally get a time. Very inconvenient process.Conly S.

A U-haul representative made an "unauthorized" change in the system regarding our delivery date and ended up delivering our boxes a day late. Because of this, we were forced to spend a lot of extra money to cover hotel fees, moving worker fees and reimbursements, etc. I was unable to get a hold of any representative who could help us with this issue and I feel we should still be compensated for the U-haul mistake. I was told the representative would submit a complaint claim but have not heard back.Christopher M.

NOT weather resistant as advertised! 2 of our 3 Ubox containers took on a significant amount of water or some type of liquid in the shipping process. Upon arrival to the shipping destination, we were forced to discard between $1,000-$3,000 worth of property due to mold build up and water damage. The liquid was NOT due to any of our items breaking as all items were in tact upon arrival. All damage was from the water taken on by the defective Uboxes. No one should have to deal with an experience like this. We are appalled by the results, heartbroken by the priceless items that we were forced to discard and will never use Uhaul's services again. We will ensure that none of our friends or family members experience the same disaster that we've had Uhaul.Gerame H.

Ran 2 weeks late and now I've been charged a second rental fee despite this being uhaul's error. I would definitely suggest customers consider carefully - the price seems good compared to other companies until you end up having to buy new clothes and furniture when you have nothing. I also had to do a lot of work on my end - no one realized my container was missing until I called and I had to talk to several people to get any kind of customer care. $50 a day refund just really isn't enough for all the hassle and stress.Ashley L.

originally went to la nueva michoacana for my pick up and not only were they unhelpful but they didn't have the truck i had paid for and made me go somewhere else and pay more for something that wasn't my fault.nikoli M.
I rented Ready to Go plastic bins. They were filthy, not cleaned and sanitized as promised on website. When I called the location to extend rental it redirects to national customer service who know nothing about bins and tell me to call the local store, so round and round it goes. I think I was overcharged. I approved a charge at the desk but when I asked for a receipt it showed a higher amount. The rental doesn't show on my account page so i don't know what happened.Linda P.

I wouldn't use this uhaul service again. It was a chaotic mess. When our boxes were picked up in Rocklin, they duplicated one of the box numbers in the system, and left one off the list entirely. It's a good thing we check paperwork carefully, so we caught the mistake. We were told they would be in San Diego June 16, but got a call later on from someone who said they would be delivered June 20. When we checked the web site status, it was confusing for us as well as the Uhaul employees because at the top it said the boxes were still in the Sacramento area, but they had actually been moved down. When we asked uhaul staff where they were, they weren't sure. When we tried to schedule delivery in San Diego, we spent two days being transferred back and forth to offices in Los Angeles because the system was down. No one told us that it was down until after we had spent many hours trying to get thru to someone. When we did talk to someone, they would transfer us to the wrong office in LA and then that person would say we had the wrong location, and they would transfer us again. This happened over and over for two days. When we finally got thru to the National City office to schedule the delivery, I asked if they could deliver the boxes sometime in the morning on both days (we had to do two separate deliveries so they would fit). She said "sure, we can do that". So I booked the moving help.com guys to come out in the afternoon on both days to unload and informed our HOA of the schedule. Then the day before, I receive a call from Uhaul saying they will deliver between 2-5pm. I was so upset and frustrated. I asked to speak to the manager (Adrianna), and asked why I was told they would deliver in the mornings. She said they don't know their schedule until the day before, and they only have one truck, so that was my only option. She never answered my question regarding why they told me it was no problem to deliver in the morning, when that was clearly not the case. And, how is anyone supposed to plan for movers or anything else if you don't know when they will be delivering until the day before? This completely screwed up our move. I was so frustrated, I was in tears. The only good thing was the women who drove the fork lifts on both ends. They do a good job. I'm also concerned that uhaul is trying to charge me for another month's rent on all the pods, because I have an invoice in my email, so I still need to follow up with my credit card company to make sure they didn't mess that up also.Andra S.

Allow the mover to take all of the UBOX's they need at the same time or if they request. This location only allowed one at a time. Caused the movers to have to drive, in traffic to take the full one and then return with an empty. It caused a lot of delays.Jason R.
Overall I got the service I paid for but wish the process went alot smoother. In fact I was sold a lock for the back of the 15ft truck I rented that did not even fit after the gentleman who was behind the counter told me the lock was for the back of the truck to prevent theft. I would like a refund if possible. Please let me know how I can do so. Also, I had to pick up the truck at one location and the tow dolly at another location 20 mins away. I understand inventory might be low but it was definitely not ideal.David L.

Overall the uHaul experience was below average. I made a reservation for a different location but wasn't contact until the day before pickup that the location in my reservation wasn't available. Then I waited on hold no less than three different time when contacting the new location to confirm that I still wanted to rent the equipment. I checked in ahead of time but that didn't save me any time when I came to pick the trailer up. Finally the trailer was in very rough shape with significant wear and tear on the body, nearly bald tires, and an overall very run down appearance. I will think twice before using uhaul next time.Wesley J.

Ivan who dropped my container off in Napa was GREAT. I give him a 10/10. When we realized my box was still bolted shut he drove all the way back on what I assume was his own time off the clock to come and take the bolts off for me. I really appreciated that. I rated the staff a NO due to my experience with the phone customer service. I was very annoyed because I had called Uhaul to provide them with a new card to charge my box to. They were able to charge 1 installment to it but then they â€œlostâ€ my card information and charged my old card instead. I was on the phone for hours with Uhaul and spoke to multiple different people who kept transferring me and no one wanted to help me. They told me they could not find my card information I had provided them previously and that I needed new information or they weren't going to deliver my box. HOW do you lose someone's credit card information that they provided to you over a recorded line AND were able to make a charge on previously. It was absolutely ridiculous and they pulled money from the wrong cards account.Francesca P.
I originally reserved a 9' van at the location in Barrio Logan, San Diego (2209 National Ave) on Thursday June 16th at 10am. After picking up the van there was zero gas in it so I was able to make it the nearest gas station. As I begin pumping the gas, it ends up all over my shoes and legs because the fuel hose was cracked and leaking all over. I return the van immediately and a 10' truck is available to use, but come to find out that the fuel hose was cut in that truck too. The attendant calls another UHaul location in National City (1300 Wilson Ave). So I have to call and Lyft rideshare in gas covered shoes, an unexpected cost due to the lack of maintenance of the Uhaul vehicles. When I get to the new location the employees there didn't really care for what happened and actually charged me more than my original quote. The attendant at the Barrio Logan location told me I would get a $50 discount because of the experience I had so far and the National City store did not follow through with that promise. During the start of the pandemic to when I moved out, Uhaul's process was a nightmare while they raised rent due to the pandemic while other company's were helping their customers save during trying times. The staff was rude every time I called, changing the payment dates (I switched jobs in between the time I was in San Diego) was terrible as you had to "Move Out" and then pay the day you want to "Move In" which no on has time to do. Terrible experience and the facility was disgusting with dead insects on the ground and apparently we had to pay extra for better cleaning but there's no improvement.Hillary R. | Overall Experience

I had a truck and two storage units. For the storage unit I asked the staff person what were the hours for the storage unit and they told me 6 AM to 10 PM and I was in the back loading up my storage space and at 8 o’clock this was Friday the doors locked so that was a little disappointing because they said till 10 PM he didn’t specify on certain days it’s different hour and why would Friday be 8 PMAntoinette G. | First Impressions
The only problem I experienced was that worker forgot to put my worker's name on the access list, told me the storage was accessible till 10 pm, that night, but my worker wasted gas and time to deliver a load to the storage at 7:00 pm, and you were closed. Facility is very well maintained. Staff is very helpful and friendly. My hat goes off to the housekeeping crew for all of their hard work that rarely gets acknowledged. From the supervisor Alma Q. for addressing issues head on and very fairly, to the CST's that put their all into making the storage experience as pleasant as possible. Major roof, LEAKS, the anti-theft alarm system, doesn't work, and not enough light. In National City CA, (a town that get only 12 inches, of rain a year) a major roof leak shouldn't, happen. That's poor and deferred maintenance; that cost me hundreds of dollar's, plus inconvenience, With return trip to town, to handle it. The whole floor flooded. Myself and a lot of renters, suffered greatly. The alarm system works sometimes and is not dependable. It work when I first moved in. But, I asked for help, with and received, a cold shoulder. My unit, I was dark, so I would bring flash lights. Ms Sabrina Felix, is a step above, most people in customer service, and suggested I get a dolly because my truck had no ramp.
