I paid more than I would have with Penske because uhaul has absolutely no discount availablefor things that consumers actually need like out of state rental rates. Gas tank was not fuel which is a inconvenience for someone trying to pick up the uhaul and move. Insurance was a good rate for 4 days.

MICHAEL BI had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with U-Haul at this location. When I went in to rent a trailer, the employee was too busy making inappropriate comments about how “sexy” and “hot” I was and even said that “everyone in the warehouse talks about me when I come in.” Because of that unprofessional behavior, he didn’t even properly check the trailer. Later that day, I got pulled over because the trailer’s brake lights were flickering on and off, which is a serious safety issue. When I called to report the problem, the manager (named Lejon) was rude, told me it was my fault for not checking it myself, and actually said, “If your friends jump off a bridge, are you going to jump off too?” Then he hung up on me, called me a liar, and dismissed my complaint about his employee’s sexual remarks. To make matters worse, I was overcharged for four days when I only had the trailer for one day, even though I called in daily and have proof of when I dropped it off. Instead of helping, management treated me with complete disrespect. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau regarding the harassment, safety issue, and overcharging. This location needs to be investigated for how it treats customers, especially women.

SIDNEY RMy experience the day I picked up the U-Haul Van was not good I dealt with a young man named Aiden he was very rude to me very short and smart mouth and Aiden didn't' have to do that the way he was Speaking to me I am old enough to be his Grandmother he have No Respect Aiden told me my card declined which that was not the truth so I could not get the U-Haul Van because my card was not a known banking institution which it was US Bank I asked him for a manager he said his manager does not work on Saturdays I said what isn't he Assistant manager Aiden said yes so the the young man came over to help me and Aiden he asked Aiden to do it again why he stood there was no issues went right away and then the other young man which is the Assistant manager don't know his name said [PLEASE go a long way] . and I said why would I say PLEASE to somebody have been being RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL to me I'm not doing that so no . I wood not recommend anybody to go their [But Your Experience mite be Different ].
YOLANDA TI rent from U-Haul more than the average person and this location has always been spot on. This rental was different. This time I was charged for refueling and the associated fees that should not have been charged. I’m not entirely sure where the error occurred but I was charged for 7 gallons of gas for 9 miles of usage having had the van for a total of an hour. I was told I should have received a text and a paper copy of my contract…which I did not (this time) so that I could record the gas level. So, now I needed to prove the amount of gas in the tank was less than the amount on file. Which I cannot other than…9 miles of recorded mileage does not add up to 7 gallons of fuel. Clearly a mistake in the system and I hope to be able to resolve after speaking with the local GM.

YADVINDER BUnfortunately the trailer I needed was closer to my physical location, but had to drive 50 miles each way, twice, to move a vehicle. Not necessarily uhauls fault, but a storage company they work with, who advertises and states they are open when I needed the trailer, had no one on site/not open. Charged for 2 days of rental, only needed trailer for 2 hours. Unfortunate that I had to look at the trailer sit in my driveway and rack up charges while not being used till Monday to make the drive back.
KYLE WI honestly was really skeptical at first…but you cannot beat uhaul pricing! Hands down! I was in sticker shock for this cross country move with just a pod/box! Uhaul was with me every step of the way. They text and email updates constantly. When I did need to call or change a date and time…it was easy and they were friendly. I def recommend them and would use them again.

DANIEL SGuys working there aren't very receptive to customers. They didn't even look up from their phones while I stood at counter. I had a reservation for a van that morning. I needed to go to out of town to 2 destinations to move furniture. I had noted on the reservation that I would be driving over 400 miles. I was given the key and went out to the van and began all the photos, etc. As I prepared to leave, I looked for the usb plug for my phone. There wasn't one. It was too old and only had cigarette lighter plugs. So, I had to go back in to ask if there was a different van. The guy took my key and said nothing. He looked around and walked away for a minute, then gave me another paper to sign and another key without saying much. I asked if it was a better van with a usb plug? He said yeah. It was much better than the first one and I wondered why I wasn't given it in the first place since I was driving it so much. As far as customer service, it was minimal, the bare minimum , at best. I've had much better before. Communication is necessary when dealing with the public and a cheerful attitude wouldn't hurt. I didn't get any of that from anyone there. It didn't seem busy enough for 3 guys to be sitting there, to me. I wonder if the job description goes over "customer service" and if a refresher course might help? They must know that they have to WORK with people, right? The van itself was uncomfortable to my arms with the seat/steering wheel distance even though I tried multiple adjustments. I was though pleased with it overall for it's gas range and speed capability.
Denise DI had a brief encounter with a staff member (unfortunately, I didn't catch his name - African American gentleman) who not only had a great sense of humor but also saved me from leaving some items behind in the truck. Thanks for the heads up and for making my day a little brighter.
EBONI HThe attendant had a lot of trouble finding a truck that had gas. He finally decided to put 5 gallons in one. As fast as he put the gas in, it was leaking out onto the driveway. How could not know a truck had a horrible gas leak? We ended up with a bigger truck because they had no others. I was told if I brought it in with 1/4 tank or more I would get a refund. I made sure it had more than 1/4, but got no refund. They do not want anyone talking to the local dealers. They make sure you end up with corporate people. Very hard company to deal with. Surprised they are still in business.

ANUJ DImprove safety checks. The van I rented had a screw in the front tire and pressure was 40psi. I had to drive back to their garage. They didn’t have another van so they just filled the tire with air and I just took a chance and continued my move

FRANK BAt the Sacramento/ Natomas location the staff are rude & not helpful. You guys expect your customers to do the work of your staff. You are welcome to call me about it so I can explain in detail. The one in Yuba City is phenomenal. They have excellent customer service.
ELENI GWhere do I start? Picked up a 17ft truck on Thursday for a 2 day rental. The guy at the front desk seemed grumpy and impersonal like he didn’t want to be there. The truck was dirty and almost on Empty. The truck had almost 180,000 miles on it. I get it it’s a rental but at least maintain your fleet. The play in the steering wheel was horrible, the alignment on the truck was horrible it almost caused me to crash twice. I returned the truck on Saturday and picked up a tow behind trailer. When I returned it on Sunday my wife brought it back at 9:30 am. I got a call at like 3pm asking me when I was returning the trailer. I was like, we already returned it hours ago my wife spoke to multiple people. I don’t know what kind of management is running this place but it’s a zoo. I would not recommend this place to anyone at all. I have to rent another trailer in a couple of weeks and I’ll go elsewhere.

AARON BMake sure you check your vehicles prior to release them. (Check engine light was on) Train your people to know the differences in dollies and make sure everything is there that was ordered. The clerks assisting us both at pickup and drop off were polite and helpful.

CHARLES PMy husband and his friend had gone to drop off the U-Haul and were treated in the most unprofessional manor. When they first arrived to drop it off they parked unsure if it was the right spot and ventured inside the facility. The gentleman working that day had zero customers that needed his help (because the only other couple that happened to be there, were already being assisted by the other employee) when my husband walked into the building to turn in the keys. He was waiting to be called up to the counter when the employee looked at him dead in the face and proceeded to ignore my husband. My husband finally went up, a few minutes later, to him and said hey man I am here to turn in my U-Haul. The employee looked at my husband again and said "oh I didn't see you there.' Absolutely not, this was laziness at all levels, extremely rude, and he did not emote customer service. After that, my husband had handed the employee the keys and proceeded to say I may have accidentally parked in the wrong spot to return it, but I am not sure. Again, with the worst service ever, the employee stared at my spouse, stuck out his arm with the keys, and didn't say a thing. Not "oh not a problem I'd be happy to show you where to park the vehicle." Nothing. So my husband took the keys, got back in the truck, and found where to properly drive and park the U-Haul. Once putting the vehicle in park my husband noticed that there was a sign stating remain in the parked U-Haul and someone will be out shortly to assist you. Again, my husband and his friend were the only customers there. 15-20 minutes go by the employee never comes out. So my spouse asked his friend to run inside and ask if the guy could come out to help them because the sign clearly states that an employee would come out to the U-Haul. His friend walks inside and asks the employee to help and maybe two minutes later they both walk out. The friend is walking ahead of the employee and my spouse can tell that his friend is visibly and clearly upset. My husband jumps out of the truck to hand the keys back to the employee and as soon as he rounds the truck, before being able to hand over the keys, the employee says "man ya'll are making this way harder then it needs to be.' Why on earth would he think that is the right thing to say when he has not been the slightest bit of help. At this point my husband is now getting frustrated with the employee, he had been calm with everything prior. My husband proceeded to ask the employee if he could know the total amount that we owed and which card it was going to charge, so that him and I would know where to move the funds too so that the charge would process smoothly. The employee literally said oh you'll get it in an email. What! that is not what he asked. This lazy, lazy employee could not walk inside to help find the information for my husband. There is no way that the employee would not have been able to do that, no way. And this employee was also smirking at both my husband and his friend, smirking because he could see how frustrated both of them were getting. My spouse, being beyond mad, tossed the keys to him and simply left. Moving is always stressful. Adding this employee's behavior into the mix does not help or make anything smooth or pleasant. Above ya'll ask Was the location clean and inviting? This question is probably geared more to the physical aspect of the store. However I am answering this question in regards to the employee himself. His customer service was not clean. And his attitude and demeanor was not inviting.
HENRY CI was scheduled to pick up a trailer at 5:00 p.m. I came early at 3:30 p.m. just in case it was ready. I was told at that time that the trailer had not been returned by the previous lessee and that he/she was extending their lease for the weekend. At no time was I notified of this change by email or phone. I would've ended up showing up at 5:00 with no trailer available and less than an hour before closing with no options. This was so disrespectful and I had to push for the service team to find me another trailer at a different location. They found one and sent me to an independent dealer's house in a sketchy neighborhood in 105 degree heat. They never apologized for the inconvenience and the lack of communication. It was a stressful experience and I was afraid as a small 5"2 woman to be sent to a sketchy neighborhood where the trailer was out in the field with weeds. We were renting a trailer as a business and to haul our camp supplies to a youth camp in Northern California. Super disappointed and will be no longer using UHaul as our provider every year.
Adrienne LNot enough small open trailers in stock. Had to use the largest you have which was way bigger than I needed. Even so, the price was great and i I got to return it after closing hour by using the UHaul app.

I stored my stuff there for two weeks after which was told to move my stuff out and that they no longer would rent to me all because someone tried to break into my storage, and I let them know that there was a issue after which the manager disappeared and then the fallowing day was asked to move out since they would no longer be renting to me. It’s not my fault someone tried to break into my unit, they are suppose to have security however I only saw security kne time and the staff could not care less about their jobs or keeping anything clean or secure. I pay to keep my belongings safe in a storage with security and even make sure to get s goid insurance plan since i know how things happen. So I don’t understsnd why I have to leave anc they didn’t even care ny unit was broken into. The key pads and swipe cards never work correctly for both the building, the bathroom? Or the unit, the doors are always open even after hours, and the lights never stay kn or come on when they are supposed to go. Needless to say my experience at this location was horrible and I will not ever refer them or return to this location.

Homeless people stay around the property and nothing is done about it at all! Staff wasn’t helpful just said to make a police report! Then two weeks ago I was informed that they were no longer using the outside storage units and I had to relocate all my things to a storage unit nearby or use a storage box. Had they let me know sooner I would have made plans but given short notice they moved all my things to a u-storage box and didn’t even call me to let me know they had done it! I would 0/10 recommend this storage unit to anyone! If you want your unit constantly being ransacked and everytime you visit your lock is damaged due to someone attempting to pick it then this would definitely be the storage location for you!
