One thing that needs to be addressed, I was bringing the gas gauge back up to 1/2 a tank and was watching the dashboard closely. When it reached the 1/2 mark I stopped pumping. When I reached the drop off location the tank read 3/4 of a tank. I didn't want to bring it back under the mark, but I certainty didn't want to fill it more than necessary. I understand Uhaul doesn't reimburse for over pumping but I think the "floater" was not calibrated correctly, or however they really works. Just something I felt was unfair to me when I did everything I was supposed to do and it went up a whole 1/4 tank than I was responsible for, lesson learned. Next time I'll be sure to stay under the mark. Other than that it was a great experience.

Right after I entered the facility the person working at this facility said that he is on the phone with his doctor and that I need to wait. After explaining to this person that what I needed to do was time sensitive this person said, and I quote “well you are just gonna have to wait”. 10 later another worker showed up. And what’s with this location taking customers photos even after I uploaded my drivers license they took a picture of my face just to confirm. Will not be using U-Haul again.

Have a system that allows employees know when a customer is in the store and when vehicles are returned. When I walked in to rent a truck there was no employee anywhere inside the showroom. I waited for nearly 10 minutes for someone to finally come in to take care of me. The employee apologized but it was still an annoyance. Also, when I returned my truck the sign said to wait in the vehicle for someone to come out and I waited for about 5 minutes. When I went inside there was an employee relaxed in the chair behind the counter and on his phone. I used to work for UHaul and customer service was key. I'm having the impression that the company is beginning to lack in this area.

My main issue was how many times they didn’t take my autopay until the next day and charged me a late fee , in the end I was told “I don’t know how your card was taken off auto pay“ and I did not receive the late fee back , that’s not right , and the manager was very pleasant, how ever some of the other staff is not

I picked up a cargo van and drove on a highway. While driving on the highway, road salt and sand were splattering the windshield. When I tried to use the wiper washer fluid, it was completely empty, making it almost impossible for me to see. It was an extremely dangerous situation as I was desperately trying to safely get off the road. I had to purchase wiper fluid at Cumberland Farms for $5.99 plus tax. I should have at least been reimbursed for that when I returned the vehicle, but wasn’t. My second complaint was with the gas situation. I was told the van was filled with gas. When I first got in the van, it said I had 380 miles until empty. When I filled it up right before I returned it, it said there was 430 miles until empty. The way I see it, I lost another two gallons or $6.20. I had to spend an extra $12 and wasn’t offered anything to cover it. For that reason, I feel disappointed in the customer service. I don’t blame the workers for the two issues, but I feel like they should have credited me for the additional expenses.

Terrible place to work, manager is rude, 2 faced, doesn't care about his employees, storage was clean and organized due to the CST Becky. Shawn is too busy giving out free months and reversing rent payments than actually making the company money. I was constantly harassed by Shawn being told that I can not be on the premises while accessing my unit or working with the company. I was fired from this location due to helping out another employee and making a complaint after Shawn deleted the hours that I worked. Management including and above Shawn does not care for it's employees or customers tbh. When a unit goes up for auction watch your belongings because Shawn will enter and take whatever he wants from your unit knowing that it is against policy. When I made a complaint to higher ups in the company regarding Shawn's actions and instead of the higher ups actually caring about the situation the marketing company president Will (Shawn's boss) threatened to fire me and another coworker at the time for insubordination just for making a complaint against Shawn's actions, deleting hours, stealing money and supplies from Naugatuck along with the other locations he visited as FRM before having the manager position handed to him, while I had already been with the company longer than Shawn. Thanks Becky and Lance for being the only trustworthy employees in Naugatuck

I was on a month to month billing with no automatic withdrawal for payment. I was charged my monthly payment threw my card without my knowledge and was pushed into a negative balance with an overdrawn charge on my account 2 days before Christmas….I did not give permission for automatic withdrawal

Devron was very knowledgeable & very helpful! He cleaned out the storage unit as it wasn’t swept out prior. He answered all my questions & it was very attentive to whatever I needed. Thanks Devron, it’s employees like you that help with customer retention! As far as the storage unit seems as if it may be a hazard or unsafe unit as it’ll only stay open if someone is holding it up. That is my only issue!

Wasn't happy with the fact that I was charged for the next month the day I emptied out the unit and Wasn't credited back the money. Did speak with someone but was told had to speak with someone else. Also was charged for remote access for a few months but was never given a remote. Was told I would be credited for that and still haven't seen it. Those are my only complaints. Auto pay will take your money but clearly getting it back is a problem.

My last two experiences with uHaul were extremely poor, one at a uHaul store and another at a gas station (franchise?). Both of them were for truck rental. The uHaul self storage is in town and very visible and was recommended by a relative. My experience here is very positive. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and secure facility, reasonable prices. I would recommend this facility to anyone needing storage or moving truck rental.

My wife and I booked our storage unit and purchased a lock prior to showing up the first time. To be honest the staff was extremely difficult, couldn’t find a reservation, didn’t explain the key card and entering and exiting the facility or anything else to us. I have no complaints about the facility itself however the customer service left much to be desired.

I called several times about a bill, I had moved and the day I went to get my stuff I was told to come back in after to close it out so I went back into store and no one was around so I waited finally I left. I called both the location where my stuff was and the headquarters and I still got charged for a few months now I owe them over 800$. This is crazy. I had no stuff being stored and and I notified them multiple times and then they still charged me so I called again and left messages and no one called back.

The facility itself was very clean. The problem lies with the staff. There have been times when I have stood there while the employees argued about who was going to wait on me. One occasion I went in and the back door was open and there was a stench of marijuana. The final day my Son used his debit card to secure the truck but was assured that when the truck was returned I could pay cash for the truck and they would release the hold on my Son's card. It did not happen, then charged my Son's card and mumbled something about not being able to fix it. I'm glad I'm done with my storage units. I had four total at one time. I would go to another U-Haul facility in a different town.

I was the wrong person to send this to. This place SUCKS!!! I was the first person to ever rent from this place. They were still in construction. Twice I paid late fees and told them I was done and then I still get notices. They say I still owe 1500.00. It’s been empty for months. Customer service they have none. When I checked in, the manager who was at the desk was too busy handling a personal matter with another employee (boyfriend possibly) to provide me with accurate information. I had to walk back in to get more details on where to enter and on the size of my storage unit. Then later that night I arrived 3 minutes after access hours, but thought I could still enter where she indicated on the map “AFTER HOURS” entrance. That was NOT the case at all, so I had to call and be on hold for 30 minutes until I was finally helped by Wanda_fauber@uhaul.com. She was wonderful; however, if I knew the management was so aloof and unconcerned, I never would have stored my belongings at that facility on New Haven Rd. Naugatuck, CT.

The storage unit that I rented was great and very convenient. The experience I had renting and using that unit would be 5 stars. However, I had a huge problem with getting my UBox from this facility. It was stored there while I was moving and when I needed to get it, I called and reserved a trailer hitch to move it. It was confirmed to be reserved for me at 5pm a few days later. When I got there right before 5pm, they told me they had run out of trailers and that they'd have to go get some from the Waterbury facility, and that it would be only half an hour at most. I went back and checked at 6pm, an hour later, and they still hadn't even left to get them yet. My trailer didn't even arrive until 7:38pm, then they didn't have the tools to hook it up to the UHaul trailer hitch that I have on my car, so they told me I had to rent one of their trucks to tow it. So all in all, $80 to rent a truck and 3 hours later than my reservation, I could finally tow my UBox to my new home. The staff seemed completely apathetic to my situation and dragged their feet the whole time. I honestly think they were waiting until 7, when they closed, to go get the trailer, hoping I'd be gone by then. But I really needed to move that day and unfortunately had to work into the night because of the delay. That is what makes my experience below average. I would rate it poorly, but I am taking into consideration the positive storage unit experience as well.

Very friendly staff , customer friendly hours and times to access the units. Very well maintained and carts are always available for your moving needs , super close to my house and extremely easy to setup and rent, have used the location for multiple vehicle rentals since and would recommend that as well. A+ love them !

Employee who served was efficient, helpful and process was fast. However, he was wearing an NRA (National Rifle Association) hat and a t-shirt that said “Guns are my life” or words to that effect. A U-Haul uniform would be more appropriate, everyone is entitled to their own opinions but with all the current political issues and gun violence we found this to be insensitive.

I was very pleased with the storage facility. My only constructive criticism was that it could’ve been a little better maintained. I came in two days in a row to pick up things and noticed that the rodent traps in the aisle and some stained pillows in the entryway had been there for the same two days. Also, one day I arrived and there were no carts available except mattress carts. Otherwise I had a very positive experience working with the people there; and, I was very pleased with the security.

Well all was great, the only thing was , they told me I will get first month free witch sounds awesome, but when I claim my free month they told me the rule to get my free month and it was not cool.

The employees don't really know much. I asked on 4 different times to take my Son off of my account and I wasn't done. They lick my storage units when my account was up to date. They argue about who is going to help when I go into the office, they are outside the back door and they reek of pot.

Had some difficulty. Did not get pass key on first visit. I reserved one 10x10unit. When I came to check out the unit Uhaul reserved both a 10x10 as well as a 5x10. I had that corrected to one 10x10 and when I came to move in the 10x10 unit was given to another person. i finally had to use two 5x10 units. Needless to say this was very inconvenient..

This particular storage unit in Naugatuck is EXTREMELY unprofessional, STAFF (the manager JESSICA and Stephanie) are rude, lazy, and the way they interact with their customers is unacceptable. I have called the Corporate office and upon speaking to them, they agreed about my recent experience as well; telling me that each store is ran different and they are sorry; and that I am not the only one who has been having a horrible experience. Every time I called to speak to them, they lied and gave me the run around, not to mention when we first got the units, they gave us the WRONG one causing the alarm to go off EVERY TIME we went to the units. They stopped responding to my emails, lied, and told me I was NEVER in touch in touch with them. I had to start documenting my conversations with times, dates, and what conversations went on. I will NEVER recommend the Naugatuck unit to ANYONE! On the RARE chance I spoke to a NICE human being over there, it was a man named Anthony. He actually helped and showed some type of human reactions other than clipped tones, huffing, and he NEVER hung up on me. He also LOOKED out together and not sloppy and unkempt like the women who are in charge. If you use this PARTICULAR STORE in Naugatuck, God speed. Document EVERYTHING and I hope you never have to interact with that horrible human being, Jessica. It’s all false impressions at the first interaction. Like I said, God Speed.

Everything was good. I asked in advance about after hours returns and was told I had to be back by 5pm sunday. To learn on sunday that I could have returned the truck after hours. Everything was fine but I could have used the extra hour. Also, for storage rental the unit is not automatically set up for auto pay. I feel like that should be an offered option. I did it on the second day.

The staff is fantastic!!! However I paid up front for an extra month to be cautious. I absolutely lost money. I wouldn't and won't recommend renting a storage unit. I understand that the company may get screwed over because people leave things and never come back. Well this is a case of me having nothing to put there and paying for it.

No loading dock! No easy access to get in. Rat traps in the units! A giant pole in my unit taking up space. No carts available. They don't have the big size units, like the one I reserved, they give you 2 units to make the size, which means you have to buy more locks . Just a million reasons to bail on this place.

I attempted to use after-hours access to my unit for the first time this evening. My name was acknowledged correctly when I swiped my card, but then the access code which had been provided to me by U-Haul (AND IS ON MY E-MAIL FROM U-HAUL) was denied. I am NOT a happy customer right now and am considering canceling my contract with this U-Haul!
