I think the only complaint I have with uhaul is you debit machines are very out dated and fail regularly when making a transaction. In desperate need of a serious upgrade. And not having the tap option in the world of covid is just not sanitary.SHERRY N. | Overall Experience

1) upon booking I was told I had a unit that was only a couple stairs up from ground level. It was a full flight of stairs 2) the billing process is Completely ridiculous. For starters when my first bill was due I never received any notification nor was my credit card charged. Upon receiving a letter at my house weeks later I was told I was being charged a non-payment fee. I explained that this was unacceptable as I have not been notified via mail, email or telephone that there was an issue with payment. I checked my credit card history and an attempt was never even made. I didn’t had to argue to have them removed delete payment fee. Which they eventually did. 3) for whatever reason it was impossible for them to correspond with me via email. I was then told that it must be my email address that was the problem. This is not a problem I use this for personal and business email every single day and I’ve never had an issue outside of the issue with U-Haul. 4) It wasn’t until the final two months that I used the unit did I receive any sort of email or paper invoice from uhaul. Two invoice forms. 5) while helping a friend move some items into a different storage unit at the same U-Haul facility, I checked on my unit. I found that some of my furniture was wet and also stained with water damage. I spoke to the front desk and also to the manager of the store. He told me there was nothing that could be done as he didn’t have any notice of a leak in that area. I explained that this was his notice that he must have a leak somewhere in that area as my items which were moved in in November somehow got wet and mouldy between then and April. I was told that because I did not buy insurance I was out of luck. This is completely unacceptable I should not have to buy insurance to protect my goods from a facility that is supposed to me be maintained. As far as I’m concerned this is a stain on the U-Haul name. It seems that U-Haul sells itself on its customer service, quality of facility and ease of use. My experience does not reflect that. I am now out $400 of which the furniture cost, the $40 in dump loads because I had to throw it all out, and the close to $100 a month and I paid between December and June. I read negative comments about this Uhaul site after I had already made my trailer rental reservation and logistically could not change it. I had some concerns, but they were quickly gone once I got there. The staff was very friendly, and Chris went out of his way to guide me through my first trailer experience. We had an issue during our trip, but I think it was more a company related issue rather than a location issue. We were pulled over on the highway and the police officer confiscated the EXPIRED temporary plate on the back of our rented trailer, and also found out that our rented truck's registration was EXPIRED by almost a year. He was going to give us tickets but knew it wasn't our fault, so he gave us warnings. We were pulled over for over 45 minutes because of this.NATALIEPAIGE W.

I had a reservation for a 1-way which they said they were going to email me back. So I called the UHaul two days before to see if I was supposed to pick up the truck and they said they have it available at the Kent location. What I don't understand is why they double booked me. Wouldn't it have been in the system that I was already booked? That was a messy morning tbh. I ended up having to take the truck all the way back to Niagara, then drive back to Toronto to settle in rather than drop the truck in Toronto.DAVID Q.

I was refused to rent out a trailer do to a expired license. I had to get my wife to rent it. I just see a flaw in your policy a bit, I was at Service Ontario center later that day, and they stated my license is extended due to Covid 19. But a new one would not be issued until I can write my Z endorsement. So My license will have the expire date But it is still valid. My truck wasn't in the location I had initially booked, and the customer service reps I spoke to via the help lines and web chat were very bad. I rented a 5' x 5' x 6' storage locker for May 3. I arrived May 4 to discover the space contains a low hanging sprinkler pipe and warning tape on all three walls prohibiting users from filling it above the marker line.. . which is located just 56” inches from the floor. Effectively, there is just 4'8" of usable space, NOT six feet as advertised. This represents a loss of 41.5 square feet of storage. As a result I was unable to fit all my possessions in this clearly much smaller space and had to find an alternative storage solution for the remaining items. To represent this locker as a 5' x 5' x 6' storage given the interior stacking limitations is completely misleading. One might say it could be considered false advertising. I did not have this problem at the Milton UHaul facility and am now in a position where I have to keep two separate rental spaces in different locations at more cost until this problem is resolved.Laurie E. | First Impressions

Came to pick up u-haul truck and trailer and spent hours going over everything that was already done before, as if i never made a reservation. Absolutely ridiculous. Truck and trailer weren't ready and lucky one of your people was nice enough to help me getting my car loaded. The vehicle was obviously not cleaned and ended up doing that myself. I would rate the rating below average or poor, if it hadn't been for previous times coming in to verify the order and pickup date and purchasing boxes, etc and the staff was very willing and helpful. Also the girl checking me in was very polite and did what she was supposed to do, I guess and had to call several times to verify previously negotiated costs that she did not have records for. The guy jacob or whatever his name was, was not friendly at all. And if I didn't have my stuff with me ready to move in, I would have found another storage. First, he talked very condescending, this was my first time in the facility and when I asked him where to go, his comment was, ''obviously, its this way down the hall.''. Who talks to customers like that? The word obviously should not be in someone's vocabulary who is in customer service. And then I wanted to add my spouse to the storage and he gave me a hard time about doing that, because my spouse was in another country. Once my spouse called on the phone and requested a manager, then all of a sudden, it wasn't a problem. The only issue was a big one at the beginning when I set up automatic payment but for some reason it didn't start and I received very strongly worded notices of non-payment and my contact person was called at work, which was upsetting and alarming for all involved. From what I understand this happens fairly often because of long delays in processing payment information since head office is in another country (USA). That was very disappointing. The staff were all excellent my issue below is only regarding a policy Only issue was that from from the promotion I was told I was entitled to a 10 x 10 locker. There were no lockers that large so I rented the largest locker that location had. It wasn't large enough do I had to rent a second locker at full price. I think a discount should have applied as I did not get a 10 x 10 locker that was not available as per the first month free deal.
